Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948) on cover from Liechtenstein

Hommage au Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948) sur lettre du Liechtenstein

Lors d'une cérémonie organisée à Vaduz le 22 octobre 2019 en présence de l'ambassadeur de l'Inde en Suisse et Liechtenstein, un bloc-feuillet spécial (3 timbres) a été dévoilé, consacré au 150ème anniversaire de la naissance du Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948).
A noter que ce bloc-feuillet ne fait toutefois pas partie du programme philatélique officiel de la Principauté du Liechtenstein mais a été créé (tirage inconnu) par le service dieMarke.li de la poste du Liechtenstein (Liechtensteinische Post AG) permettant de personnaliser des timbres ou cartes pré-timbrées.
Plusieurs formats sont proposés au public en ce qui concerne les timbres (feuilles de 20 timbres, blocs de 3 timbres, feuillets panoramiques de 10 timbres...). 
Des feuillets ou blocs pré-personnalisés sont régulièrement émis sur des thèmes particuliers, ce qui est le cas pour ce bloc-feuillet "Gandhi".
During a ceremony organized in Vaduz on October 22, 2019 in the presence of the Indian Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, a special souvenir sheet (3 stamps) was unveiled, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948).
Please note that this souvenir sheet is not, however, part of the official philatelic program of the Principality of Liechtenstein but was created (unknown print run) by the dieMarke.li service of the Liechtenstein Post (Liechtensteinische Post AG) to personalize stamps or prepaid cards.
Several formats are available to the public for stamps (sheets of 20 stamps, souvenir sheets of 3 stamps, panoramic sheets of 10 stamps, etc.).
Pre-personalized sheets or souvenir sheets are regularly issued on particular themes, which is the case for this "Gandhi" sheet.

 

Gandhi est représenté sur ces 3 timbres (1 CHF chacun), à différentes étapes de sa vie, en particulier devant des unes de journaux (Young India, Harijan...) dans lesquels il publia de nombreux articles appelant à l'indépendance et à la non-violence.
Son portrait sur le timbre du milieu a été également reproduit sur de très nombreux timbres émis à travers le monde en 2019 (Chypre, République dominicaine, Inde, Tunisie...).
Merci beaucoup Jens pour cette lettre affranchie avec ce bloc-feuillet, envoyée le 20 juillet 2020 depuis Ruggell, la municipalité située le plus au nord du Liechtenstein, connue pour sa réserve naturelle Ruggeller Riet, illustrée sur le TAD !
Le Mahatma Gandhi ("Mahatma" signifiant "la grande âme"), né en 1869 à Pordanbar (état du Gujarat), surnommé le "Père de la Nation" en Inde, fut un des pionniers du mouvement d'indépendance du pays, prônant la désobéissance, la non-violence et le concept du "swaraj" (autodétermination).
Il est assassiné en 1948 par un fanatique hindou. Gandhi a inspiré de nombreux mouvements de libération et de défense des droits civiques dans le monde.
Gandhi is represented on these 3 stamps (CHF 1.00 each), at different stages of his life, in particular in front of newspapers (Young India, Harijan ...) in which he published numerous articles calling for independence and nonviolence.
His portrait on the middle stamp was also reproduced on many stamps issued around the world in 2019 (Cyprus, Dominican Republic, India, Tunisia ...).

Mahatma Gandhi ("Mahatma" meaning "venerable"), born in 1869 in Pordanbar (state of Gujarat), nicknamed the "Father of the Nation" in India, was one of the pioneers of the country's independence movement, advocating disobedience, non-violence and the concept of "swaraj" (self-determination).
He was assassinated in 1948 by a Hindu fanatic. Gandhi was the inspiration for many freedom and civil rights movements around the world.
