Le 1er juillet 2020, l'Allemagne a pris la présidence du Conseil de l'Union européenne pour six mois. Il s'agit de la treizième présidence allemande depuis la signature du traité de Rome en 1957.
Associée au slogan "Tous ensemble pour relancer l'Europe", cette présidence a pour principal objectif de sortir l'Europe de la crise en relancer l'économie, renforçant la cohésion interne et agissant de manière unie à l'extérieur.
La gestion de la crise du coronavirus constitue à la fois un impératif et une opportunité pour resserrer encore plus les liens de solidarité qui unissent les 27 états membres.
La confiance du gouvernement allemand dans la force créatrice de l'Europe se reflète dans le logo officielle de sa présidence du Conseil de l'Union européenne, avec le ruban de Möbius en son centre, symbolisant la force de l'Union européenne à créer l'unité et la solidarité tout en préservant les divers intérêts et la diversité.
On July 1, 2020, Germany took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union for six months. This is the thirteenth German presidency since the signing of the Treaty of Rome in 1957.
Associated with the slogan "Together for Europe's recovery", the main objective of this presidency is to get Europe out of the crisis by relaunching the economy, strengthening internal cohesion and acting in a united manner abroad.
Managing the coronavirus crisis is both an imperative and an opportunity to further strengthen the ties of solidarity that unite the 27 member states.
The confidence of the German government in the creative force of Europe is reflected in the official logo of its presidency of the Council of the European Union, with the Möbius strip at its center, symbolizing the strength of the European Union in creating the unity and solidarity while preserving diverse interests and diversity.

 

Ce ruban de Möbius, arborant les couleurs du drapeau allemand ainsi qu'un dégradé de bleu (couleur de l'Europe), est un figure géométrique, nommée d'après le mathématicien et astronome allemand Möbius, possédant des propriétés fascinantes, composé d'une seule face contrairement à un ruban classique qui en possède deux.
Ce logo incluant également le nom du site dédié à cette présidence (eu2020.de) est reproduit sur le timbre (0,80€, conception : Annette le Fort et André Heers) mis en circulation le 2 juillet 2020 ("EU-Ratspräsidentschaft Deutschland").
Ce timbre figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus, avec TAD de Berlin incluant les 12 étoiles du drapeau de l'UE ainsi que le slogan "Unsere Zukunft liegt in Europa" ("Notre avenir se trouve en Europe"). Merci beaucoup Jens !
Jens a complété son affranchissement avec un timbre (0,30€, émis le 2 janvier 2020)  faisant partie de la série courante "fleurs" en cours (débutée en 2005), une fleur d'hémérocalle ici, pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (1,10€) jusqu'à 20g.

This Möbius strip, featuring the colors of the German flag as well as a gradient of blue (color of Europe), is a geometric figure, named after the German mathematician and astronomer Möbius, possessing fascinating properties, composed of only one side unlike a classic ribbon which has two. This logo also including the name of the website dedicated to this presidency (eu2020.de) is reproduced on the stamp (€ 0.80, design: Annette le Fort and André Heers) put into circulation on July 2, 2020 ("EU-Ratspräsidentschaft Deutschland").

This stamp is present on the First Day cover above, with postmark from Berlin including the 12 stars of the EU flag as well as the slogan "Unsere Zukunft liegt in Europa" ("Our future lies in Europe"). Thanks a lot Jens!
Jens completed his postage with one stamp (€ 0.30, issued on January 2, 2020) as part of the ongoing definitive "flowers" series (started in 2005), a daylily here, to reach the rate in force for a shipment in Europe (€ 1.10) up to 20g.
