"Duksung Women's University 100th anniversary" stamp on FDC from South Korea

Timbres "100 ans de l'université pour femmes Duksung" sur FDC de Corée du sud

Le 16 avril 2020, la poste coréenne a mis en circulation un timbre (380 won, tirage : 630000), conçu par Ryu, Ji-hyeong, consacré au 100ème anniversaire de l'université pour femmes Duksung, imprimé (par Southern Colour Print) en feuille composée de 15 timbres avec marge illustrée.
Ce timbre a été utilisé en 3 exemplaires, avec une partie de la marge à gauche, sur ce joli pli Premier Jour, avec TAD de Nambusan. Merci beaucoup Ji-Ho !
Lors de sa création en 1920 à Séoul, cette institution avait été baptisée Académie Geunhwa, en référence à la fleur nationale de la Corée du Sud (appelée également Mugunghwa, Hibiscus syriacus), représentée dans la marge de ce feuillet à gauche ainsi que sur le TAD. 
Sous la pression des autorités japonaises d'occupation, cette institution a été renommée Duksung à partir de 1938.
Ce timbre représente la bibliothèque actuelle de l'université, située au centre du campus, qui a été désignée comme patrimoine futur de Séoul, en harmonie avec des arbres luxuriants.
On April 16, 2020, Korea Post released a stamp (380 won, print run: 630,000), designed by Ryu, Ji-hyeong, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Duksung Women's University, printed (by Southern Color Print) in sheet composed of 15 stamps with illustrated margin.
This stamp has been used in triplicate, with part of the margin to the left, on this pretty First Day cover, with postmarks from Nambusan. Thank you very much Ji-Ho!
When it was founded in 1920 in Seoul, this institution was called Geunhwa Academy, in reference to the national flower of Korea (also called Mugunghwa, Hibiscus syriacus), depicted in the margin of this sheet on the left as well as on the postmark.
Under pressure from the Japanese occupation authorities, this institution was renamed Duksung from 1938. 
This stamp depicts the current university's library, located in the center of the campus, which has been designated as Seoul's Future Heritage, standing in harmony with lush trees.
 

 

 

Cette université a été fondée en 1920 par Cha Mirisa (1880-1955), activiste lors de la lutte pour l'indépendance du pays, au sein du Mouvement du 1er Mars.
Cha Mirisa, qui a dirigé des mouvements pour l'éducation des femmes après avoir étudié aux États-Unis et en Chine à la fin de la période Joseon, a organisé le Comité Joseon pour l'éducation des femmes, avec d'autres militantes, en avril 1920. 
Considérant que "l'histoire des femmes qui ont vécu sans être considérées en tant qu'humaines était la plus grande honte de l'humanité", Cha Mirisa a créé cette première institution éducative pour femmes, construite alors par des femmes coréennes sans l'aide d'étrangers ou de capitaux étrangers.
Après la libération de la Corée, des efforts ont été faits pour faire de l'école un établissement d'enseignement supérieur pour femmes, obtenant son statut universitaire actuel en 1987.
Cinq matières principales sont enseignées dans cette université : sciences humaines, sciences naturelles, pharmacie, sciences sociales et art / design. 

This university was founded in 1920 by Cha Mirisa (1880-1955), an activist during the struggle for the independence of the country, within the March 1st Movement.

Cha Mirisa, who led movements for women's education after studying in the United States and China at the end of the Joseon period, organized the Joseon Committee for Women's Education, along with other activists, in April 1920.

Considering that "the history of women who lived without being considered as human was the greatest shame of mankind", Cha Mirisa created this first educational institution for women, then built by Korean women without the help from foreigners or foreign capital.

After the liberation of Korea, efforts were made to make the school a higher education institution for women, obtaining its current university status in 1987.

Five main colleges are taught at this university: Humanities, Natural Science, Pharmacy, Social Science, and Art / Design.
