La joueuse de tennis Simona Halep est sans aucun doute une des sportives roumaines les plus populaires et connues dans le monde, en particulier suite à sa 1ère victoire en Grand Chelem à Roland-Garros le 9 juin 2018 (victoire 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 face à l'américaine Sloane Stephens en finale).
La joueuse de 26 ans, née à Constanța, est également actuellement n° 1 mondiale au classement de la WTA.
Le 29 août 2018, la poste roumaine a mis en circulation un timbre spécial (5 L) en son honneur, ainsi qu'un bloc-feuillet (28,50 L).
C'est ce timbre qui figure sur le joli pli illustré Premier Jour ci-dessous, avec TAD de Bucarest (bureau postal n° 37). Merci beaucoup Dorin !

On August 29, 2018, the Romanian Post issued a special stamp (L 5.00) in her honor, as well as a souvenir sheet (L 28.50).
