20 pratiques et expressions culturelles de Corée du Sud sont, à ce jour, inscrites par l'UNESCO sur la liste du patrimoine culturel immatériel, dont la lutte coréenne traditionnelle inscrite en 2018, en commun avec la Corée du Nord, un symbole.
Mais c'est une pratique inscrite en 2016, la culture des haenyeo (plongeuses) de l'île de Jeju qui est à l'honneur sur une série (2 timbres à 330 won) émise le 21 novembre 2018 par la poste coréenne.
Ces 2 timbres (tirage : 420000, conception : Shin, Jae-yong) ont été imprimés par Royal Joh. Enschedé (Pays-Bas) dans une même feuille composé de 10 timbre (2 timbres dans la partie haute et 8 timbres (4 paires) dans la partie basse).
Deux timbres de la partie basse ont été utilisés sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous, avec TAD de Nambusan. Merci beaucoup Ji-Ho !
20 South Korean cultural practices and expressions are, to date, inscribed by UNESCO on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, of which the traditional Korean wrestling inscribed in 2018, together with North Korea, a symbol.
But it is a practice registered in 2016, the Culture of Jeju Haenyeo (women divers) which is in the spotlight on a series (two 330 won stamps) issued on November 21, 2018 by the Korean Post.
These two stamps (print run: 420,000, design: Shin, Jae-yong) have been printed by Royal Joh. Enschedé (Netherlands) in a unique sheet composed of 10 stamps (2 stamps in the upper part and 8 stamps (4 pairs) in the lower part).
Two stamps extracted from the sheet's lower part were used on the First Day cover below, with cancellation from Nambusan. Thank you very much Ji-Ho!
Ces plongeuses (appelées "haenyeo") de Jeju, une île située à l'extrême sud de la péninsule coréenne, sont des femmes et mères symboles de longévité et de ténacité de cette île.
D'après l'UNESCO, "cette communauté de femmes de Jeju, parfois octogénaires, gagne sa vie en plongeant dans la mer jusqu'à 10 m, sans masques à oxygène, pour pêcher des fruits de mer tels que des ormeaux ou des oursins. Fortes de leurs connaissances de la mer et de la vie marine, les haenyeo (plongeuses) de Jeju pêchent jusqu’à sept heures par jour, 90 jours par an en retenant leur souffle pendant une minute à chaque plongée et en produisant un son unique en regagnant la surface.
Les plongeuses sont divisées en trois groupes suivant leur niveau d'expérience : hagun, junggun et sanggun. Avant une plongée, les plongeuses prient la déesse de la mer, Jamsugut, de leur assurer la sécurité et une pêche abondante".
These women divers (called "Haenyeo") from Jeju, an island located in the far south of the Korean Peninsula, are women and mothers who are the symbol of longevity and tenacity of this island.
According to UNESCO, "this community of women of Jeju Island, some aged in their 80s, goes diving 10m under the sea to gather shellfish, such as abalone or sea urchins for a living without the help of oxygen masks. With knowledge of the sea and marine life, the Jeju haenyeo (female divers) harvest for up to seven hours a day, 90 days of the year holding their breath for just one minute for every dive and making a unique verbal sound when resurfacing.
Divers are categorised into three groups according to level of experience: hagun, junggun and sanggun. Before a dive, prayers are said to the Jamsugut, goddess of the sea, to ask for safety and an abundant catch".
Ji-Ho a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer également la partie haute de cette feuille ci-dessus, incluant ces 2 timbres, avec, dans la marge, une plongeuse avec le Seongsan Ilchulbong dans le fond, un impressionnant cône volcanique situé sur la côte orientale de l'île de Jeju.
Ji-Ho was kind enough to also send me the top part of this sheet above, including these 2 stamps, with, in the margin, a diver with the Seongsan Ilchulbong in the background, an impressive volcanic cone located on the eastern coast of Jeju Island.
