Le 31 juillet 2015, les membres du CIO ont choisi la ville de Beijing (l'autre ville candidate était Almaty au Kazakhstan) pour organiser, du 4 au 20 février 2022, la 24ème édition des jeux olympiques d'hiver.
Beijing est ainsi la toute première ville à accueillir à la fois les jeux olympiques d'été (en 2008) et d'hiver.
La poste chinoise avait déjà émis des timbres sur ce thème en 2015 (désignation de Beijing pour organiser ces jeux d'hiver) et en 2017 (dévoilement des logos de ces jeux olympiques et paralympiques).
Le 16 novembre 2018, une série de 4 timbres (1,20 yuan chacun) a été mise en circulation, consacrée à différents sports de neige au programme de ces jeux olympiques d'hiver.
On July 31, 2015, the IOC members chose the city of Beijing (the other candidate city was Almaty in Kazakhstan) to organize, from February 4 to 20, 2022, the 24th edition of the Olympic Winter Games.
Beijing is thus the first city to host both the Olympic Summer Games (in 2008) and Winter Games.
The Chinese Post had already issued stamps on this theme in 2015 (designation of Beijing to organize these Winter Games) and in 2017 (unveiling of the logos of these Olympic and Paralympic Games).
On November 16, 2018, a series of four stamps (1.20 yuan each) was put into circulation, devoted to various snow sports on the program of these Olympic Winter Games.
Ces 4 timbres (conception : Shen Jiahong) ont été imprimés par Beijing Stamp Printing Works chacun en feuille de 16 timbres ainsi que dans un même feuillet composé de 8 timbres (2 de chaque).
C'est ce feuillet numéroté, avec mention de ces jeux olympiques d'hiver Beijing 2022 (en chinois et anglais) dans la marge supérieure, qui a été utilisé sur la jolie lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 8 décembre 2018 depuis la ville de Shenyang (province du Liaoning, nord-est du pays). Merci beaucoup Wenbo !
La parité est respectée sur cette série avec 2 athlètes féminines (ski de fond, biathlon) et 2 hommes (ski alpin et ski acrobatiques).
Lors de ces jeux de Beijing 2022, les épreuves de ski alpin se tiendront sur la montagne Xiaohaituo, à 90 km au nord-ouest de Beijing, les autres épreuves de sports de neige étant organisées dans la région de Taizicheng, près de Zhangjiakou, à 220 km de Beijing.
Le logo officiel de ces jeux, conçu par Lin Cunzhen, figure en haut à gauche sur chaque timbre. Intitulé "Winter Dream", il constitue une interprétation stylisée du caractère chinois signifiant "Hiver" (le haut ressemble à un patineur et le bas à un skieur).
A noter enfin, dans la marge en haut à droite, cette mention "Beijing 2022", prédécoupée dans le papier.
These four stamps (design: Shen Jiahong) were printed by Beijing Stamp Printing Works each in a sheet of 16 stamps as well as in a same minisheet consisting of 8 stamps (2 of each).
This is the numbered minisheet, with mention of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games (in Chinese and English) in the top margin, which was used on the beautiful letter above sent on December 8, 2018 from the city of Shenyang (Liaoning Province, northeast of the country). Thank you very much Wenbo!
Parity is respected in this series with 2 female athletes (cross-country skiing, biathlon) and 2 men (alpine skiing and freestyle skiing).
At these Beijing 2022 Winter Games, alpine skiing events will be held on Xiaohaituo Mountain, 90 km northwest of Beijing, other snow sports events being held in the Taizicheng area near Zhangjiakou, 220 km from Beijing.
The official logo of these games, designed by Lin Cunzhen, is present on the top left of each stamp. Entitled "Winter Dream", it is a stylized interpretation of the Chinese character meaning "Winter" (the top looks like a skater and the bottom to a skier).
To note finally, in the margin at the top right, this mention "Beijing 2022", precut in the paper.
