Le 7 décembre 2017, l'historien, professeur d'université et homme politique moldave Alexandru Moșanu (1932-2017) décédait à Bucarest à l'âge de 85 ans.
Auteur de plus de 100 ouvrages ayant pour thème l'histoire de la Bessarabie et de la Roumanie, Alexandru Moșanu est rentré dans l'histoire contemporaine de la République de Moldavie en étant élu, le 3 septembre 1990, président du Soviet Suprême moldave (380 membres) après les premières élections libres en 1990.
Après l'indépendance du pays proclamée le 27 août 1991, ce Soviet Suprême moldave sera remplacé par le parlement de la République de Moldavie (101 membres), l'assemblée législative monocamérale du pays.
Alexandru Moșanu restera président de ce premier parlement post indépendance, jusqu'au 2 février 1993 lorsqu'il sera poussé à démissionner après un conflit avec le parti démocratique agraire.

Author of more than 100 books about the history of Bessarabia and Romania, Alexandru Moşanu went down in the contemporary history of the Republic of Moldova by being elected, on September 3, 1990, President of the Moldavian Supreme Soviet (380 members) after the country's first free elections in 1990.
After the independence of the country proclaimed on August 27, 1991, this Moldavian Supreme Soviet was replaced by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova (101 members), the unicameral legislature of the country.
Alexandru Moşanu remained president of this first post-independence parliament, until February 2, 1993 when he was forced to resign after a conflict with the agrarian democratic party.
Dans le contexte de l'éclatement de l'URSS, Alexandru Moșanu s'est engagé en politique pour militer pour l'indépendance de la Moldavie et sera député entre 1990 et 2001.
Il a apporté une contribution décisive à l'élaboration de certains actes législatifs, concernant en particulier le drapeau national ou "Deșteaptă-te Române", premier hymne du pays.
Mais Alexandru Moșanu est surtout celui qui a lu au parlement le projet de déclaration d'indépendance du 27 août 1991, voté le même jour à l'unanimité par les 278 députés présents.
Un an jour pour jour après sa disparition, la poste moldave a mis en circulation un timbre (1,75 L, tirage : 125000, conception : Vitaliu Pogolșa) lui rendant hommage (portrait + illustration des manifestations pour l'indépendance à Chișinău en 1990).

In the context of the breakup of the USSR, Alexandru Moşanu engaged in politics to campaign for the independence of Moldova and was a member of parliament between 1990 and 2001.
He made a decisive contribution to the drafting of certain legislative acts, in particular concerning the national flag or "Deşteaptă-te Române", the country's first anthem.
But Alexandru Moşanu was especially the one who read in parliament the draft declaration of independence of August 27, 1991, unanimously voted the same day by the 278 deputies present.
One year to the day after his death, the Post of Moldova issued a stamp (L 1.75, print run: 125,000, design: Vitaliu Pogolşa) paying tribute to him (portrait + illustration of the independence events in Chişinău in 1990 ).
