Environ 10500 athlètes, venant de 207 pays ou territoires affiliés au CIO, vont participer à la 31ème olympiade d'été organisée pour la 1ère fois de l'histoire en Amérique du Sud, à Rio de Janeiro (du 5 au 21 août 2016).
Parmi ces athlètes, une centaine en provenance de République Tchèque, engagés dans 25 disciplines sportives, dont l'athlétisme à l'honneur sur le timbre spécial émis par la poste tchèque le 22 juin 2016, consacré à ces jeux olympiques de Rio.
C'est ce timbre (32 CZK), conçu par Milan Jaroš, qui figure sur le joli FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 3500, prix de vente : 48 CZK). Merci beaucoup Bret !
Approximately 10,500 athletes from 207 countries or territories affiliated to the IOC, will participate in the 31th Summer Olympiad organized for the first time ever in South America, in Rio de Janeiro (from 5 to 21 August 2016).
Among these athletes, a hundred from Czech Republic, engaged in 25 sports, including athletics in the spotlight on the special stamp issued by the Czech Post on June 22, 2016, devoted to these Olympic Games in Rio.
It is that stamp (32 CZK), designed by Milan Jaroš, which is on the nice official FDC below (print run : 3,500 - selling price : 48 CZK). Thank you very much Bret !
Ce timbre, incluant l'emblème du comité olympique tchèque ainsi que la mention "Équipe olympique tchèque - Rio 2016", montre la silhouette d'une athlète (arborant les couleurs jaune et vert du drapeau brésilien) franchissant une haie.
Ce n'est pas officiel mais c'est la spécialiste tchèque du 400 mètres haies, Zuzana Hejnová (championne du monde en 2013 et 2015), une des grandes chances de médailles à Rio, qui semble à l'honneur sur ce timbre...
A noter également sur cette enveloppe, la gravure à gauche (auteur : Miloš Ondráček) avec le pictogramme de ces jeux de Rio consacré au pentathlon moderne.
Le TAD Premier Jour de Prague est intéressant également car il a été conçu à partir d'un dessin d'un athlète par Emil Zátopek (1922-2000), un des plus grands sportifs tchécoslovaques (4 fois champion olympique) avec une de ses citations "Nemůžeš? Přidej!" ("Vous n'en pouvez plus ? accélérez !").
That stamp, including the emblem of the Czech Olympic Committee as well as the words "Czech Olympic Team - Rio 2016", shows the silhouette of a female athlete (wearing the yellow and green colors of the Brazilian flag) jumping over a hurdle.
It's not official but it is the Czech 400 meter hurdles athlete, Zuzana Hejnová (world champion in 2013 and 2015), one of the great medal chances in Rio, who seems to be featured on that stamp...
To note also on this envelope, the engraving to the left (author : Miloš Ondráček) with the pictogram used during these Rio 2016 games devoted to modern pentathlon.
The FDC cancellation from Prague is also interesting because it was designed from a drawing of an athlete by Emil Zatopek (1922-2000), one of the greatest Czechoslovak athletes (4 times Olympic champion) with one of his quotes "Nemůžeš? Přidej!" ("You can't? Speed up!").

Ce timbre, représentant un athlète en fauteuil roulant, figure sur le 2ème FDC ci-dessus (tirage : 3500, prix de vente : 32 CZK) avec TAD de Prague montrant un athlète avec des prothèses au niveau des membres inférieurs.
La gravure sur cette enveloppe (auteur : Miloš Ondráček) représente les pictogrammes de 5 disciplines paralympiques, parmi les 22 sports au programme de ces jeux.

The same day, the Czech Post issued a second stamp (16 CZK), also designed by Milan Jaroš, dedicated to the Paralympic Games of Rio 2016 (15th edition) held from 7 to 18 September 2016.
That stamp, depicting a wheelchair athlete, is on the 2nd FDC above (print run : 3,500 - selling price : 32 CZK) from Prague, with a postmark showing an athlete with leg's prosthetics.
The engraving on this envelope (author : Miloš Ondráček) is depicting pictograms of 5 Paralympic disciplines, among the 22 sports at the program of these games.
