Heureux de publier à nouveau une lettre affranchie avec des timbres EUROPA 2016, cette fois en provenance des îles Féroé, envoyée le 10 juin 2016 de Tórshavn, capitale de cet archipel situé entre l'Écosse et l'Islande, rattaché au royaume du Danemark.
La poste des îles Féroé (Posta) émet ses propres timbres depuis 1975 et ses premiers timbres EUROPA depuis 1979.
Pour rappel, le thème retenu pour cette année 2016 (60ème anniversaire de l'émission des premiers timbres CEPT-EUROPA) est consacré à l'écologie en Europe avec en particulier ce slogan "Think Green".
Happy to post once again a letter franked with some EUROPA 2016 stamps, this time from the Faroe Islands, sent on June 10, 2016 from Tórshavn, the capital of this archipelago located between Scotland and Iceland, being part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
The postal administration of the Faroe Islands (Posta) is issuing its own stamps since 1975 and its first EUROPA stamps since 1979.
As a reminder, the theme chosen for this year 2016 (60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps) is devoted to Ecology in Europe through in particular this slogan "Think Green".
Un des 2 timbres de cette série (17 DKK, à droite sur cette enveloppe) émise le 9 mai 2016, à été conçu à partir du dessin commun (auteur : Doxia Sergidou / poste chypriote) choisi parmi 24 projets, suite à un concours organisé par PostEurop.
A noter que ce timbre, évoquant le rôle et la responsabilité de l'homme pour un avenir plus vert, comporte une mention erronée du prénom de l'auteur (Doxias au lieu de Doxia)...
Le 2ème timbre de cette série (9 DKK), au style un peu psychédélique (!), conçu par le graphiste local Edward Fuglø (né en 1965 à Klaksvík), comporte ce slogan "Think Green" sur fond de spirale verte et blanche.
Ces 2 timbres ont été imprimés uniquement en version autocollante dans un même carnet composé de 6 timbres (3 de chaque).
A noter que ces îles Féroé sont pionnières en Europe dans le développement d'énergies renouvelables (éolien et hydroélectricité) représentant 60% de la production totale d'énergie en 2015 (objectif de 100% d'ici 2030).
One of the two stamps of this series (17 DKK, to the right on this envelope) issued on May 9, 2016, has been designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) selected from 24 projects, following a competition organized by PostEurop.
To note that this stamp, referring to the role and responsibility of man for a greener future, was printed with an incorrect reference to the firstname of the author (Doxias instead of Doxia)...
The 2nd stamp of this series (9 DKK), with a slightly psychedelic style (!), designed by local graphic artist Edward Fuglø (born in 1965 in Klaksvík) includes the slogan "Think Green" on a green and white spiral's background.
These two stamps were printed only in self-adhesive version in a booklet composed of 6 stamps (3 of each).
To note that Faroe Islands are pioneers in Europe in the development of renewable energies (wind and hydro power) representing 60% of the total energy production in 2015 (target of 100% by 2030).
