Pour illustrer son timbre de Noël, émis le 5 novembre 2014, la poste tchèque a choisi cette année une oeuvre de l'illustrateur et écrivain tchèque Josef Lada (1887-1957) représentant une scène de la nativité, intitulée "Bethlehem en hiver" (Galerie nationale de Prague),datant de 1942.
C'est ce timbre (tarif permanent domestique "A") qui figure en 2 exemplaires sur le FDC ci-dessous, avec TAD (étoile filante) du village de Hrusice, situé dans le sud-est de Prague. Merci beaucoup Bret :-)
Josef Lada est surtout connu pour avoir réalisé les illustrations du roman "Le Brave Soldat Chvéïk" de Jaroslav Hašek. La poste tchèque avait émis une série de timbres en 1997 reproduisant certains de ces dessins.
To illustrate its Christmas stamp, issued on November 5, 2014, the Czech Post has chosen this year a work of Czech illustrator and writer Josef Lada (1887-1957) featuring a nativity scene, entitled "Bethlehem in winter" (National Gallery in Prague), dating from 1942.
It is that stamp (domestic permanent rate "A") which was used in two copies on the FDC below, with postmarks (shooting star) from the village of Hrusice, located in southeast of Prague. Thank you very much Bret :-)
Josef Lada is best known for having produced the illustrations of the novel "The Good Soldier Švejk" by Jaroslav Hašek. The Czech Post had issued a set of stamps in 1997 reproducing some of these drawings.
Hrusice, lieu de naissance de Josef Lada, est très connu des tchèques depuis les années 1930 à travers les peintures, cartes postales de Noël et de Pâques ou livres pour enfants montrant des vues de ce village par Josef Lada.
A noter que cette même Nativité était déjà utilisée sur la lettre pré-timbrée émise par la poste tchèque en novembre 2013 pour les voeux de nouvelle année.
Hrusice, birthplace of Josef Lada, is famous for almost every Czech since the 1930s through paintings, Christmas and Easter postcards or books for children showing some views of this village by Josef Lada.
To note that this same Nativity scene was already used on the prepaid envelope issued by the Czech Post in November 2013 for New Year greetings.
