On June 7, 2017, the Czech Post issued several stamps, one of which being dedicated to the Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik (1872-1957) on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his death.
It is that stamp (32 CZK), designed by Jan Kavan and engraved by Miloš Ondráček, which appears on the official FDC below (print run : 3,500), with a cancellation from Prague representing an eagle drawing by Plečnik designed for a sculpture at the top of a column. Thank you very much Bret!
The engraving on this envelope shows a bronze amphora designed by Plečnik as well as an outline of a canopy supported by sculptures of bulls referring to the Bull Staircase leading to the southern gardens of Prague Castle
Jože Plečnik, architect and city planner, worked mainly in Ljubljana, his hometown, but also in Vienna, Prague or Belgrade.

In the 1920s, Czechoslovak President T.G. Masaryk invited Jože Plečnik to Prague to work on the restoration of Prague Castle and the presidential residence of Lány Castle.
A portrait of Plečnik appears on that stamp as well as a fragment of the plan of the Prague Castle and in particular the gardens he laid out : Na Baště in the upper part and Rajská zahrada and Na Valech gardens below.
Plečnik has redesigned these gardens and installed many small sculptures and works of art.
To note that this plan continues on the central coupon of the souvenir sheet (2 stamps) in which this stamp was printed, with also a view of the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord in Prague, erected according to a Plečnik's project between 1929 and 1932.

Bret was finally kind enough to send me the commemorative First Day sheet above regarding that same stamp.
It should be noted that the Slovenian Post also paid tribute to Jože Plečnik in particular with a stamp issued in 2002.
