33rd Congress of the "Marcophilie Navale" - Special postmark from Lyon

On May 26 and 27, 2018 was held in Lyon the 33rd National Congress of the Marcophilie Navale ("Naval Marcophilia"), a French association created in 1985 (400 members) gathering collectors of postal and commemorative marks from the units of the French Navy and some foreign navies.
Navy marcophilia is a branch of philately interested in postal marks affixed to the mail from or to the Navy units, on land or sea.
On the occasion of this congress, a temporary post office offered a special postmark on May 26, 2018, also paying tribute to Claude Farrère, born in Lyon in 1876 (died in Paris in 1957), naval officer, academician and writer.

This postmark was applied to the letter above and the card below, specially issued during this 33rd Naval Marcophilia Congress.
This postmark, designed by Paul Roy (Toulon section of this association), is featuring a quill pen and a stylized anchor, recalling that Claude Farrère (born Frédéric-Charles Bargone) was both a naval officer and a writer, Prix Goncourt in 1905 for his novel "Les Civilisés" and member of the French Academy in 1935.
Claude Farrère is represented on this envelope in his French Academy's suit, above the coat of arms of the city of Lyon.
Paul Roy, who signed at the bottom left on this envelope, also designed the personalized MonTimbraMoi stamp ("Green Letter 20g") depicting the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, a helicopter, a Rafale aircraft of the French Navy, a sub-marine and a FREMM multipurpose frigate.

The same personalized stamp was used on the card above, with a portrait of Claude Farrère in his uniform of a young naval officer when he served aboard the Aviso-torpedo boat "Vautour" (represented at the bottom) in Constantinople between 1902 and 1904, under the orders of Pierre Loti.
Claude Farrère will definitively leave the Navy in 1919, to devote himself to writing (he published more than 80 novels and books), with the rank of captain of corvette.

Paul Roy was kind enough to dedicate the other side of this card above, drawing this nice sailor and his red pompom :)
