Le mont Titano et le centre historique de la cité de Saint-Marin, qui remonte à la fondation de la république en tant que cité-État au 13ème siècle, sont inscrits au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO depuis 2008.
D'après l'UNESCO, le site inscrit comprend des tours de fortification, des murs d'enceinte, portes et bastions, ainsi que la basilique néo-classique du 19ème siècle, des couvents du 14ème et 16ème siècle, le Palazzo Pubblico du 19ème siècle et le théâtre Titano du 18ème siècle. Ce bien constitue un exemple de centre historique encore habité et conservant toutes ses fonctions institutionnelles. Grâce à sa position au sommet du mont Titano, la cité n'a pas été affectée par les transformations urbaines intervenues depuis l'avènement de l'ère industrielle jusqu'à nos jours.
Mount Titano and the historic center of the city of San Marino, which dates back to the founding of the republic as a city-state in the 13th century, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.
According to UNESCO, the inscribed city centre includes fortification towers, walls, gates and bastions, as well as a neo-classical basilica of the 19th century, 14th and 16th century convents, the Palazzo Publico of the 19th century, as well as the 18th century Titano Theatre. The property represents an historical centre still inhabited and preserving all its institutional functions. Thanks to its position on top of Mount Titano, it was not affected by the urban transformations that have occurred from the advent of the industrial era to today.
Pour célébrer le 10ème anniversaire de cette inscription, l'UFN (Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico) de Saint-Marin a mis en circulation, le 5 juin 2018, un intéressant bloc-feuillet (tirage : 40000) composé de 3 timbres (1,20€ chacun), conçu par Cristian Ceccaroni et imprimé par Cartor Security Printing.
Ce bloc-feuillet figure sur la lettre ci-dessus, envoyée le 18 juin 2018 depuis le centre de cette petite république (castello de Borgo Maggiore), au pied du versant nord du mont Titano.
A noter, en haut à droite, ce cachet proposé au public par l'UFN lors du dernier salon "Paris-Philex" organisé à Paris du 7 au 10 juin 2018, représentant les 2 tours de la Conciergerie, située sur l'île de la Cité à Paris.
Ce bloc-feuillet, avec une jolie vue sur le Mont Titano et ses Trois Tours dans le fond, est composé de timbres montrant (de haut en bas), le Palazzo Pubblico (siège du gouvernement) et le Parva Domus sur la place de la Liberté, les 2 capitaines-régents pendant la cérémonie d'investiture et les symboles de ces même capitaines-régents.
Les capitaines-régents sont les deux personnalités qui dirigent la République de Saint-Marin depuis le 13ème siècle, élus pour un mandat de six mois par le Grand Conseil général (parlement).
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this inscription, the UFN (Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico) of San Marino issued on June 5, 2018, an interesting souvenir sheet (print run: 40,000) consisting of 3 stamps (€ 1.20 each), designed by Cristian Ceccaroni and printed by Cartor Security Printing.
This souvenir sheet is present on the cover above, sent on June 18, 2018 from the center of this small republic (castello di Borgo Maggiore), at the foot of the northern slope of Mount Titano.
To note, in the upper right corner, the special cachet offered to the public by the UFN during the last "Paris-Philex" stamp exhibition held in Paris from 7 to 10 June 2018, depicting the 2 towers of the "Conciergerie", located on the Île de la Cité in Paris.
This souvenir sheet, with a beautiful view of Mount Titano and its Three Towers in the background, is composed of stamps showing (from top to bottom), the Palazzo Pubblico (seat of government) and the Parva Domus on the Liberty square, the two Captains Regent during the investiture ceremony and the symbols of these same Captains Regent.
Captains Regent are the two personalities who have headed the Republic of San Marino since the 13th century, elected for a six-month term by the Grand and General Council (parliament).
