La Roumanie participe aux jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis la 2ème édition en 1928 et n'a remporté jusqu'à maintenant qu'une seule médaille (en bronze) en bobsleigh à 2 (Ion Panturu et Nicolae Neagoe) lors des jeux de Grenoble en 1968.
La poste roumaine émet régulièrement des timbres à l'occasion de ces jeux olympiques d'hiver (4 timbres pour les jeux de PyeongChang 2018 par exemple).
Cela fut aussi le cas en 2014 (le 7 février) avec l'émission de 4 timbres (2,10 Lei chacun) pour célébrer la participation de l'équipe roumaine (24 athlètes engagés dans 8 sports) à la 22ème édition des jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 7 au 23 février 2014 à Sotchi en Russie.
Romania has participated in the Olympic Winter Games since the 2nd edition in 1928 and has won until now only one bronze medal in bobsleigh two-man (Ion Panturu and Nicolae Neagoe) at the Grenoble Games in 1968.
The Romanian Post regularly issues stamps for these Olympic Winter Games (4 stamps for the PyeongChang 2018 Games for example).
This was also the case in 2014 (on February 7th) with the issue of 4 stamps (2.10 Lei each) to celebrate the participation of the Romanian team (24 athletes involved in 8 sports) at the 22nd edition of the Olympic Winter Games, organized from 7 to 23 February 2014 in Sochi, Russia.
Ces 4 timbres (tirage : 16000 chacun), conçus par Victor Telibaşa, ont été imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 2 blocs de 4 timbres (tête-bêche).
La moitié d'un de ces feuillets a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 13 juin 2018 depuis Bucarest.
A noter ce TAD de très mauvaise qualité ainsi que ce 2ème cachet daté du 10 juin 2018 (avec mention R3) appliqué sur le stand de Romfilatelia pendant le dernier salon Paris-Philex organisé à Paris du 7 au 10 juin 2018.
Ces 4 timbres évoquent des disciplines dans lesquelles les athlètes roumains étaient engagés à Sotchi : biathlon, bobsleigh, ski de fond et patinage artistique (luge, skeleton, saut à ski et ski alpin pour les 4 autres sports).
These 4 stamps (print run: 16,000 each), designed by Victor Telibaşa, were printed in the same sheetlet composed of 2 blocks of 4 stamps (tête-bêche).
A half of one of these sheetlets was used on the cover above sent on June 13, 2018 from Bucharest.
To note this postmark of very bad quality as well as this 2nd cancellation dated June 10, 2018 (with mention R3) applied on the stand of Romfilatelia during the last Paris-Philex stamp exhibition organized in Paris from 7 to 10 June 2018.
These 4 stamps are featuring sport disciplines in which the Romanian athletes were engaged in Sochi: biathlon, bobsleigh, cross-country skiing and figure skating (luge, skeleton, ski jumping and alpine skiing for the other 4 sports).
