L'équipe espagnole masculine de handball, les "Hispanos", double championne du monde (en 2005 et 2013) n'avait curieusement jamais remporté le championnat d'Europe (4 médailles d'argent, 2 médailles de bronze)...
Lors du championnat d'Europe (13ème édition) organisé en Croatie du 12 au 28 janvier 2018, l'Espagne a enfin remporté la médaille d'or, battant la Suède en finale (29-23).
Pour célébrer cette victoire, la poste espagnole Correos a mis en circulation, le 23 mars 2018, un bloc-feuillet spécial (1,35€, tirage : 180000).

At the European Championship (13th edition) held in Croatia from January 12 to 28, 2018, Spain finally won the gold medal, beating Sweden in the final (29-23).
To celebrate this victory, the Spanish Post Correos put into circulation, on March 23, 2018, a special souvenir sheet (€ 1.35, print run: 180,000).
