"Sultan of Terengganu - 25 years of reign" stamp set on FDC from Malaysia

Pour rappel, la Malaisie est une Fédération composée de 13 états et 3 districts fédéraux. C'est aussi une monarchie constitutionnelle dont le chef de l'état est un monarque, le Yang di-Pertuan Agong ("souverain suprême" en malais), appelé plus communément le Roi de Malaisie.
Sa particularité est d'être l'un des rares monarques élus (pour un mandat de 5 ans) dans le monde. Il est élu parmi les 9 sultans héréditaires des états malais (les 4 autres états, dirigés par des gouverneurs, ne participent pas à l'élection).
Son rôle est principalement honorifique, le pouvoir exécutif étant détenu par le premier ministre.
Son altesse royale ("Duli Yang Maha Mulia" - DYMM) le sultan de l'état de Terengganu, Mizan Zainal Abidin (né en 1962), fut ainsi élu 13ème Yang di-Pertuan Agong en 2006 à l'âge de 44 ans (le 3ème plus jeune de l'histoire de la Malaisie et le premier né après l'indépendance du pays en 1957).
As a reminder, Malaysia is a Federation composed of 13 states and three federal territories. It is also a constitutional monarchy whose head of state is a monarch, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong ("supreme ruler" in Malay), more commonly known as the King of Malaysia. 
His particularity is to be one of the few elected monarchs (for a 5 years-term) in the world. He is elected among the nine hereditary sultans of the Malay States (the other 4 states, led by Governors, do not participate in this election). 
His role is mainly honorific, the executive power being held by the Prime Minister.
His Royal Highness ("Duli Yang Maha Mulia" - DYMM) the Sultan of th state of Terengganu, Mizan Zainal Abidin (born 1962), was thus elected as the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 2006 at the age of 44 (the 3rd youngest in Malaysian history and the first born after the country's independence in 1957).

 

Le 28 novembre 2023, la poste malaise a mis en circulation une série (3 timbres) consacré à ce sultan de Terengganu (un état situé sur la côte nord-est de la péninsule malaise), à l'occasion du 25ème anniversaire de son règne (jubilé d'argent, "Jubil Perak" en malais).
Ces 3 timbres (40 sen, 70 sen, 1,30 RM), imprimés chacun en feuilles de 20 timbres, représentant le sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin en tenue d'apparat, figurent sur le joli FDC officiel ci-dessus, avec TAD de la ville de Kangar, capitale de l'état de Perlis (située dans le nord-ouest de la péninsule malaise, près de la frontière thaïlandaise). Merci beaucoup Khor ! 
Mizan Zainal Abidin est devenu le plus jeune dirigeant d'un État fédéral malaisien lorsqu'il a accédé au trône en tant que 17ème sultan de Terengganu le 15 mai 1998 (il était âgé de 36 ans) après la mort de son père, le sultan Mahmud.
On November 28, 2023, the Malaysian Post put into circulation a series (3 stamps) dedicated to this Sultan of Terengganu (a state located on the northeast coast of the Malay Peninsula), on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his reign (silver jubilee, "Jubil Perak" in Malay).
These 3 stamps (40 sen, 70 sen, 1.30 RM), each printed in sheets of 20 stamps, representing Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin in ceremonial attire, are present on the pretty official FDC above, with cancellations from the city of Kangar, capital of the state of Perlis (located in the northwest of the Malay Peninsula, near the Thai border). Mizan Zainal Abidin became the youngest ruler of a Malaysian federal state when he acceded to the throne as the 17th Sultan of Terengganu on May 15, 1998 (he was aged 36) after the death of his father, Sultan Mahmud.
