"Olympic Games Athens 2004" souvenir sheet on cover from Greece

Bloc-feuillet "Jeux olympiques Athènes 2004" sur lettre de Grèce

Après 1896 (1ère édition), la Grèce organisait pour la 2ème fois une édition moderne des jeux olympiques d'été, à Athènes du 13 au 29 août 2004.
Afin de célébrer et annoncer cet évènement, la poste grecque a mis en circulation de nombreuses séries de timbres, en particulier un intéressant bloc-feuillet (5€), émis le 15 mars 2002, consacré au site d'Olympie, qui a accueilli les Jeux olympiques durant l'Antiquité, et où encore aujourd'hui, la flamme olympique est allumée quelques mois avant la cérémonie d'ouverture des jeux olympiques modernes.
Ce bloc-feuillet numéroté a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous, envoyée en recommandé depuis Athènes le 16 mai 2024.
Le timbre de ce bloc-feuillet représente en particulier la crypte ou tunnel (couvert à l'époque), qui permettait aux athlètes de se diriger vers le stade d'Olympie depuis le sanctuaire des dieux.
Ce stade antique d'Olympie, où des épreuves des jeux olympiques antiques furent organisées entre 776 avant JC et 393 après JC, a accueilli les épreuves de poids lors des jeux de 2004.
After 1896 (first edition), Greece organized for the 2nd time a modern edition of the Summer Olympic Games, in Athens from August 13 to 29, 2004.
In order to celebrate and announce this event, the Greek Post put into circulation many series of stamps, in particular an interesting souvenir sheet (€5.00), issued on March 15, 2002, dedicated to the site of Olympia, which hosted the Olympic Games during Antiquity, and where even today, the Olympic flame is lit a few months before the opening ceremony of the modern Olympic Games.
This numbered souvenir sheet was used on the cover below, sent by registered mail from Athens on May 16, 2024.
The stamp of this souvenir sheet represents in particular a part of the crypt or tunnel (covered at the time), which allowed the athletes to head towards the stadium of Olympia from the sanctuary of the gods.
This ancient stadium in Olympia, where events of the ancient Olympic games were held between 776 BC and 393 AD, hosted the shot put events at the 2004 games.

L'emblème de ces jeux olympiques d'Athènes 2004, représentant une couronne d'olivier sur fond bleu (création de Rodanthi Senduka), figure dans la marge de ce bloc-feuillet. Le rameau d'olivier (ou kotinos) est lié à l'histoire de la Grèce et de l'Olympisme puisqu'il récompensait les vainqueurs des jeux olympiques antiques. Le kotinos est par ailleurs l'arbre sacré de la ville d'Athènes. Les couleurs représentatives de la Grèce, le bleu et le blanc, symbolisent le drapeau et les paysages du pays.
D'autres timbres ont été utilisés sur cette lettre, en particulier la série EUROPA (2 timbres, conception : Anthoula Lygka, tirage : 80000) émise le 9 mai 2013, illustrant le thème des véhicules postaux, une bicyclette (3,28€) et un véhicule utilitaire (0,78€) aux couleurs de la poste grecque.
Le 4ème timbre ci-dessus (0,45€) fait partie d'une jolie série (21 timbres) émise le 2 janvier 2002, consacrée à différentes danses traditionnelles, le kochari ici, une danse d'origine arménienne, pratiquée encore aujourd'hui par les Pontiques, les descendants des populations hellénophones du pourtour de la mer Noire (environ 2,5 millions de personnes). 
The emblem of these Athens 2004 Olympic Games, representing an olive crown on a blue background (design by Rodanthi Senduka), is featured in the margin of this souvenir sheet. The olive branch (or kotinos) is linked to the history of Greece and Olympism since it rewarded the winners of the ancient Olympic Games. The kotinos is also the sacred tree of the city of Athens. The representative colors of Greece, blue and white, symbolize the flag and the landscapes of the country.
Other stamps were used on this envelope, in particular the EUROPA series (2 stamps, design: Anthoula Lygka, print run: 80,000) issued on May 9, 2013, illustrating the theme of postal vehicles, a bicycle (€3.28) and a utility vehicle (€0.78) bearing the colors of the Greek Post.
The 4th stamp above (€0.45) is part of a nice series (21 stamps) issued on January 2, 2002, dedicated to different traditional dances, kochari here, a dance of Armenian origin, still practiced today by the Pontic Greeks, the descendants of the Greek-speaking populations around the Black Sea (around 2.5 million people).

Timbres EUROPA sur lettre spéciale "EFIRO 2024" de Roumanie

A l'occasion de l'Exposition philatélique mondiale spécialisée ("Expoziția Filatelică Mondială Specializată") "EFIRO 2024", organisée du 16 au 19 avril 2024 dans la Bibliothèque nationale de Bucarest, Romfilatelia a mis en circulation plusieurs timbres ainsi que des oblitérations spéciales.
Deux de ces oblitérations ont été appliquées le 16 avril 2024 sur l'enveloppe ci-dessous par le bureau postal de Bucarest 15. Merci beaucoup Dorin !
Le TAD à droite, en forme de pentagone, est consacré au 150ème anniversaire de la création de l'Union Postale Universelle (UPU) et rappelle que la Roumanie fut un des 21 états fondateurs le 9 octobre 1874.
L'UPU, dont le siège se trouve à Berne (Suisse), est la seconde plus ancienne organisation internationale après l'Union Internationale des Télécommunications. Forte de ses 192 pays membres aujourd'hui, l'UPU constitue le principal forum de coopération entre les acteurs du secteur postal, permettant d'assurer un véritable réseau universel de produits et de services à la pointe du progrès. 
On the occasion of the Specialized World Stamp Exhibition ("Expoziția Filatelică Mondială Specializată") "EFIRO 2024", organized from April 16 to 19, 2024 in the National Library of Bucharest, Romfilatelia put into circulation several stamps as well as special cancellations.
Two of these cancellations were applied on April 16, 2024 on the envelope below by the Bucharest 15 postal office. Thank you very much Dorin!
The postmark on the right, in the shape of a pentagon, is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and recalls that Romania was one of the 21 founding countries on October 9, 1874.
The UPU, headquartered in Bern (Switzerland), is the second oldest international organization after the International Telecommunications Union. With its 192 member countries today, the UPU is the primary forum for cooperation between postal sector players. It helps to ensure a truly universal network of up-to-date products and services.

Ce TAD a été conçu à partir du monument de l'UPU ("Weltpostdenkmal", sculpteur : René de Saint-Marceaux) représentant 5 messagères (représentant les 5 continents) se passant des lettres autour d'un globe terrestre, inauguré le 4 octobre 1909 à Berne. Au fil des ans, ce monument est apparu sur des centaines de timbres-poste dans le monde. 
L'autre TAD ci-dessus à gauche est consacré au 165ème anniversaire de l'union des Principautés de Roumanie. Principautés unies de Moldavie et de Valachie fut le nom officiel de la Roumanie après l'union de ces deux Principautés en 1859, sous le règne du prince Alexandre Jean Cuza, l'une des figures majeures de la renaissance culturelle roumaine.
Dorin a utilisé 4 timbres faisant partie de séries EUROPA mises en circulation en 2008 (1,60 L, émis le 8 mai, illustrant le thème de la lettre), 2013 (2,10 L, émis le 30 avril, illustrant le thème des véhicules postaux), 2016 (5 L, émis le 4 mai, illustrant le thème "Think Green!", à l'occasion du 60ème anniversaire de l'émission des premiers timbres EUROPA) et 2017 (4,50 L, émis le 12 avril, illustrant le thème des châteaux, le château de Hunedoara ici).
This postmark was designed from the UPU monument ("Weltpostdenkmal", sculptor: René de Saint-Marceaux) featuring 5 messengers (representing the 5 continents) passing letters around a terrestrial globe, inaugurated on October 4, 1909 in Bern. Over the years, this monument has appeared on hundreds of postage stamps around the world.
The other cancellation above left is dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the Union of the Principalities of Romania. United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia was the official name of Romania after the union of these two Principalities in 1859, under the reign of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza, one of the major figures of the Romanian cultural renaissance.
Dorin used four stamps from the EUROPA series put into circulation in 2008 (1.60 L, issued on May 8, illustrating the theme of the letter), 2013 (2.10 L, issued on April 30, illustrating the theme of postal vehicles), 2016 (5 L, issued on May 4, illustrating the theme "Think Green!", on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first EUROPA stamps) and 2017 (4.50 L, issued on April 12, illustrating the theme of castles, Hunedoara Castle here). 

"Resumption of TAROM external flights" postmark on cover from Romania

TAD "Reprise des vols externes de la TAROM" sur lettre de Roumanie

Afin de célébrer la reprise des vols internationaux de la compagnie aérienne nationale roumaine TAROM, l'association philatélique de la ville de Botoșani (Moldavie roumaine, nord-est du pays) a proposé la mise en circulation d'un TAD spécial.
Ce projet a été accepté et un TAD devait être émis le 17 juin 2020 avec le slogan "Reluarea curselor externe TAROM după 100 de zile de suspendare" ("Reprise des vols externes TAROM après 100 jours de suspension") pour marquer cette reprise des vols internationaux après 100 jours d'arrêt, à cause de la crise sanitaire liée à la Covid-19.
Mais aucun vol international n'étant effectué le dimanche, la version finale de ce TAD mentionne cette reprise après 95 jours de suspension !
In order to celebrate the resumption of international flights by the Romanian national airline TAROM, the philatelic association of the city of Botoșani (Romanian Moldova, northeast of the country) proposed the putting into circulation of a special postmark.
This project was accepted and a postmark was to be issued on June 17, 2020 with the slogan "Reluarea curselor externe TAROM după 100 de zile de suspendare" ("Resumption of TAROM external flights after 100 days of suspension") to mark this resumption of international flights after 100 days of shutdown, due to the Covid-19 health crisis.
But no international flight being made on Sunday, the final version of this postmark mentions this resumption after 95 days of suspension!

Ce TAD a été appliqué sur la lettre ci-dessus, parvenue jusqu'à moi avec une partie de l'enveloppe en haut à droite endommagée par l'humidité. Merci beaucoup Mihnea !
Ce TAD a été mis en circulation à Otopeni, ville située à 15 km au nord de Bucarest où le principal aéroport (aéroport international Henri-Coandă) du pays est situé.
Le siège de la compagnie TAROM (créée en 1920, portant ce nom depuis 1954) est également situé à Otopeni.
Mihnea a utilisé un timbre (2,10 L) faisant partie de la série EUROPA émise le 30 avril 2013 (thème : véhicules postaux).
Ce timbre évoque la conquête de l'espace aérien par l'être humain via cet appareil datant des débuts de l'aviation et ses ailes conçues à partir de lettres envoyées par poste aérienne (avec la mention "Par Avion" en français).
This postmark was applied to the above letter, which reached me with part of the upper right envelope damaged by moisture. Thank you very much Mihnea!
This cancellation was put into circulation in Otopeni, a town 15 km north of Bucharest where the country's main airport (Henri-Coandă International Airport) is located.
The headquarters of the company TAROM (created in 1920, bearing this name since 1954) is also located in Otopeni.
Mihnea used a stamp (2.10 L) from the EUROPA series issued on April 30, 2013 (theme: postal vehicles).
This stamp refers to the conquest of the air space by humans through this airplane dating from the early days of aviation and its wings designed from airmail envelopes (with the words "Par Avion" in French).

Le thème EUROPA des véhicules postaux, symboles de distribution du courrier dans les villes et les campagnes, avait été choisi spécialement en 2013 à l'occasion du 20ème anniversaire de l'association des opérateurs postaux publics européens PostEurop qui gère ces émissions de timbres EUROPA.
Les 2 timbres EUROPA émis le 8 mai 2013 par la poste de Guernesey, font partie d'une série de 6 timbres, conçue par l'illustrateur britannique Robin Carter, imprimée (en France par Cartor Security Printing) également sous forme d'un bloc-feuillet.
Cette série représente différents véhicules postaux, plus ou moins anciens, exploités à Guernesey mais aussi dans 5 autres pays.
Ce bloc-feuillet, incluant une marge à droite représentant un véhicule récent (Fiat) arborant le logo de la poste de Guernesey, figure sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 1er avril 2019.
The EUROPA theme of postal vehicles, symbols of mail delivery in cities and the countryside, was chosen specifically in 2013 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the association of European postal operators PostEurop which manages the issue of these EUROPA stamps.
The two EUROPA stamps issued on May 8, 2013 by the Guernsey Post, are part of a series of 6 stamps, designed by the British illustrator Robin Carter, printed (in France by Cartor Security Printing) also in the form of a souvenir sheet.
This series represents different postal vehicles, more or less old, operated in Guernsey but also in five other countries.
This souvenir sheet, including a margin on the right depicting a recent vehicle (Fiat) bearing the logo of the Guernsey Post, was used on the letter below sent on April 1, 2019. 

Les 2 timbres au centre de ce bloc-feuillet, comportant le logo EUROPA, représentent respectivement un véhicule "Morris 6cwt O" de la Royal Mail britannique (tarif "Lettre Royaume-Uni" - 65p) avec un paysage de Lake District dans le fond, et un véhicule VW (Coccinelle) de la Deutsche Post (tarif "Lettre internationale 20g" - 90p) avec semble-t-il, un village de Bavière dans le fond.
Les 2 timbres en haut montrent un véhicule postal de la marque Diahatsu (tarif "Lettre domestique" - 48p) exploité à Guernesey, dans une rue de Saint-Peter-Port (avec le clocher de l'église St John dans le fond) et un véhicule Citroën 2CV de la poste française (tarif "Lettre large domestique" - 66p) dans une rue de Paris, dans le quartier des Tuileries.
Les 2 derniers timbres ci-dessus représentent un véhicule DAF Kalmar Tjorven (tarif "Lettre large Royaume-Uni" - 98p) exploité par la poste suédoise Posten AB (remplacée par PostNord en 2009) sur la place Stortorget à Stockholm, et un véhicule Studebaker Zip de l'USPS (tarif "Lettre internationale 40g") dans une ville américaine non identifiable...
A noter que ce tarif "Lettre internationale 40g" n'existe plus actuellement à Guernesey mais uniquement des tarifs "Lettre Europe 20g à 100g" et "Lettre Monde 20g à 100g".

EUROPA 2013 (postman's van) m/s on cover from Georgia

Bloc-feuillet EUROPA 2013 (véhicules postaux) sur lettre de Géorgie

Avec un léger retard (!), la poste géorgienne a mis en circulation, le 22 décembre 2014, sa série EUROPA 2013 (2 timbres et 1 bloc-feuillet) dont le thème était consacré aux véhicules postaux.
Les 2 timbres (1,50 GEL, tirage : 10000 chacun), conçus par G. Kartvelishvili, ont été imprimés dans des feuillets de 10 timbres ainsi que dans un même bloc-feuillet (tirage : 10000) mais avec des valeurs faciales de 2 GEL.
Ce bloc-feuillet a été utilisé sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous, envoyée le 13 janvier 2018 de Tbilissi.

With a slight delay (!), the Georgian Post has put into circulation, on December 22, 2014, its EUROPA 2013 series (2 stamps and 1 souvenir sheet) whose theme was devoted to postal vehicles (or postman's van).
The two stamps (GEL 1.50, print run: 10,000 each), designed by G. Kartvelishvili, have been printed in sheetlets of 10 stamps as well as in the same souvenir sheet (print run: 10,000) but with a nominal value of GEL 2.00.
This souvenir sheet was used on the beautiful letter below, sent on January 13, 2018 from Tbilisi.

Les 2 timbres montrent des anciens véhicules postaux dans les rues de Tbilissi, respectivement un phaéton postal (le nom de ce véhicule hippomobile découvert, à quatre roues, avec un siège à l'avant pour le conducteur et un à l'arrière) et une voiture (devant le bureau de poste principal ?).
A noter cette mention "Tfilisi Post" et le logo EUROPA dans la marge inférieure de ce bloc-feuillet, représentant par ailleurs une vue ancienne d'un quartier de Tbilissi (lequel ?).
The two stamps are featuring old postal vehicles in the streets of Tbilisi, respectively a postal phaeton (the name of this four-wheeled horse-drawn vehicle with a front seat for the driver and one at the rear) and a postal car (in front of the main post office?).
To note this mention "Tfilisi Post" and the EUROPA logo in the lower margin of this souvenir sheet, depicting also an old view of a district of Tbilisi (which one?).

Timbres "Arts" et "histoire postale" sur lettre de République Tchèque

Un grand merci Bret pour cette nouvelle splendide lettre recommandée, envoyée de Prague le 1er jour d'émission (13 décembre 2017) des timbres utilisés pour son affranchissement : un impressionnant bloc-feuillet (2 timbres) consacré à l'histoire postale du pays, en particulier à Jiří Stříbrný (le 1er ministre des postes et télégraphes en 1918-1919) et Maxmilián Fatka (le 1er directeur général de la poste tchécoslovaque entre 1918 et 1935), et un nouveau timbre de la série "Œuvres d'art sur timbres-poste" (30 CZK) reproduisant ici une oeuvre de la peintre Jaroslava Pešicová (1935-2015).
Je reparlerai très prochainement plus en détail de ces 2 séries de timbres mais j'aime beaucoup ce bloc-feuillet, avec un clin d'œil à la future exposition philatélique "Praga 2018", dans la marge en bas à droite...
A big thank you Bret for this new beautiful registered letter, sent from Prague on the first day of issue (December 13, 2017) of the stamps used for the postage: an impressive souvenir sheet (2 stamps) devoted to the country's postal history, in particular to Jiří Stříbrný (the first Minister of Posts and Telegraphs in 1918-1919) and Maxmilián Fatka (the first director general of the Czechoslovak Post between 1918 and 1935), and a new stamp of the series "Works of Art on Postage Stamps" (30 CZK) reproducing here a work by painter Jaroslava Pešicová (1935-2015).
I will write about these two sets of stamps again very soon, but I really like this souvenir sheet, with a nod to the future philatelic exhibition "Praga 2018", in the margin at the bottom right...

Bret a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer les 2 feuillets commémoratifs ci-dessous incluant des TADs mis en circulation respectivement le 7 décembre 2017 (80 ans de Karel Dvořák) et le 11 décembre 2017 (400 ans de la destruction de l'église protestante de Hrob).
Conçu par Klára Melichová, le TAD commémorant le 80ème anniversaire de la naissance de l'artiste et graphiste Karel Dvořák, a été mis en circulation par le bureau principal de Prague 1.
Karel Dvořák a conçu de nombreuses affiches publicitaires, logos, couvertures de livres mais aussi quelques timbres pour la poste tchèque comme celui utilisé sur ce feuillet numéroté entre 0163201 et 0165000 (tirage : 1800).
Ce timbre (25 CZK) est le timbre EUROPA émis le 2 mai 2013 (thème : les véhicules postaux), représentant un ancien fourgon postal hippomobile utilisé pour le transport des colis (musée postal de Vyšší Brod).
Bret was kind enough to send me also the two commemorative sheets below including postmarks put into circulation respectively on December 7, 2017 (Karel Dvořák - 80 years) and December 11, 2017 (400 years of the destruction of the Protestant Church of Hrob).
Designed by Klára Melichová, the postmark commemorating the 80th anniversary of the birth of the artist and graphic designer Karel Dvořák, was put into circulation by the main post office of Prague 1.
Karel Dvořák has designed many advertising posters, logos, book covers, but also some stamps for the Czech Post as the one used on this sheet numbered between 0163201 and 0165000 (print run: 1,800).
That stamp (25 CZK) is the EUROPA stamp issued on May 2, 2013 (theme: postal vehicles), depicting an old horse-drawn coach used to deliver parcels (Postal Museum of Vyšší Brod).

Le 2ème feuillet à droite, numéroté entre 0165001 et 0167000 (tirage : 2000), comporte un TAD spécial conçu par Petr Foltera, mis en circulation du 11 au 22 décembre 2017 dans la ville de Hrob, située dans le nord-ouest du pays, près de la frontière allemande.
Ce TAD (plan de l'église et blason de la ville) commémore le 400ème anniversaire de la destruction de l'église protestante locale, remettant alors en cause la charte royale appelée "Lettre de Majesté" publiée par l'empereur Rodolphe II en 1609.
A travers cette Lettre, Rodolphe II accordait aux non catholiques la liberté de religion, un consistoire, une université et le droits d'élire leurs défenseurs, ce qui était complètement unique en Europe à cette époque.
La destruction de cette église ainsi que la fermeture d'édifices non catholiques en Bohême déclenchèrent la Guerre de Trente Ans en 1618 et la fin de cette tolérance religieuse en 1620.
Le timbre utilisé sur ce feuillet (26 CZK), émis le 17 juin 2009, commémorait le 400ème anniversaire de la publication de cette "Lettre de Majesté".
The second sheet on the right, numbered between 0165001 and 0167000 (print run: 2,000), contains a special postmark designed by Petr Foltera, put into circulation from 11 to 22 December 2017 in the northwestern city of Hrob, near the German border.
This postmark (map of the church and coat of arms of the city) commemorates the 400th anniversary of the destruction of the local Protestant church, thus calling into question the royal charter known as "Letter of Majesty" published by Emperor Rudolph II in 1609.
Through this Letter, Rudolf II granted to non-Catholics a freedom of religion, a consistory, a university and the right to elect their defenders, which was completely unique in Europe at that time.
The destruction of this church and the closing of non-catholic buildings in Bohemia triggered the Thirty Years War in 1618 and the end of this religious tolerance in 1620.
The stamp used on this sheet (26 CZK), issued on June 17, 2009, commemorated the 400th anniversary of the publication of this "Letter of Majesty".

World Post Day 2015 in Moldova

La poste de Moldavie a déjà commémoré cette Journée mondiale de la poste à plusieurs reprises dans le passé, sous diverses formes : séries de timbres émises en 1997 et 2002, enveloppe pré-timbrée en 2006, oblitérations spéciales en 2003, 2004, 2005 et 2012.
Pour rappel, cette Journée mondiale de la poste (" Ziua Mondială a Poştei" en roumain) est célébrée chaque année le 9 octobre (depuis 1969) afin de marquer la date anniversaire de la fondation de l'Union postale universelle (UPU) en 1874 à Berne.
D'après l'UPU, "l'objectif de cette journée est de sensibiliser les citoyens et les entreprises au rôle de la poste dans leur vie quotidienne et de sa contribution au développement socio-économique des pays".
The Post of Moldova has already commemorated this World Post Day on several occasions in the past, under various forms : stamp series issued in 1997 and 2002, prepaid envelope in 2006, special cancellations in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2012.
As a reminder, this World Post Day ("Ziua Mondială a Poştei" in Romanian) is celebrated every year on October 9th (since 1969) to mark the anniversary of the founding of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874 in Bern.
According to the UPU, "the purpose of World Post Day is to create awareness of the role of the postal sector in people’s and businesses’ everyday lives and its contribution to the social and economic development of countries".

Environ 150 pays célèbrent ainsi chaque année de différentes manières cette Journée mondiale de la Poste, dont la Moldavie qui a mis en circulation à Chișinău (MD-2012) le 9 octobre 2015, une nouvelle oblitération spéciale.
C'est cette oblitération, représentant un globe terrestre avec une enveloppe, un colis et la mention de cette journée mondiale de la poste sous forme de timbre, qui a été appliquée sur la carte ci-dessus. Merci beaucoup Nicolae :-)
J'ai déjà évoqué sur ce blog les 2 timbres EUROPA utilisés ici, ayant un lien avec le monde postal, faisant partie des séries émises le 30 avril 2008 (thème : le lettre, messager à cheval transportant un parchemin au Moyen-âge, devant la forteresse de Soroca semble-t-il) et le 30 avril 2013 (thème : les véhicules postaux, diligence postale datant du 17ème siècle).

I've already mentioned on this blog the two EUROPA stamps used here, having a link with the postal world, being part of the series issued on April 30, 2008 (theme : the letter, a Middle Ages messenger on horseback carrying a parchment, in front of the fortress of Soroca it seems) and on April 30, 2013 (theme : postal vehicles, stagecoach dating from the 17th century).

Cette carte postale (24/2015, conception : Alexandr Kornienko, tirage : 500) est intéressante car l'autre face ci-dessus montre certains des timbres EUROPA émis par la poste moldave entre 1993 (thème : art contemporain) et 2015 (jouets anciens).
Curieusement, il manque sur cette carte les timbres EUROPA émis en 2006 (thème : intégration), 2007 (thème : scoutisme) et 2010 (thème : livres pour enfants)...
Comme déjà évoqué sur ce blog, cet aperçu permet de constater à nouveau que le logo EUROPA présent sur les timbres émis entre 2003 et 2009, était incorrect avec cette lettre "R" à 2 jambes...
This postcard (24/2015, design : Alexandr Kornienko, print run : 500) is interesting because the other side above shows some of the EUROPA stamps issued by the Post of Moldova between 1993 (theme : Contemporary Art) and 2015 (old toys).
Oddly, the EUROPA stamps issued in 2006 (theme : Integration), 2007 (theme : Scouting) and 2010 (theme : children's books) are missing on this card...
As already mentioned on this blog, this overview allows again to note that the EUROPA logo present on the stamps issued between 2003 and 2009, was wrong with this letter "R" with two legs...

Émission commune Roumanie-Croatie : églises

Le 14 novembre 2014, les administrations postales de Roumanie et de Croatie ont émis une série commune composée de 2 timbres ayant pour thème "Spiritualité - Églises fortifiées".
Ces édifices fortifiés ont eu une importance capitale dans le passé, en protégeant à la fois les religieux mais aussi les habitants des attaques extérieures.
Ces 2 timbres sont respectivement consacrés à l'église évangélique de Cristian en Roumanie et à l'église Saint-Nicolas de Komiža en Croatie.
Comme cela est le cas dans certains pays (Singapour par exemple), la poste roumaine a eu la bonne idée d'éditer un FDC commun incluant les 2 timbres roumains et les 2 timbres croates, oblitérés avec leurs TAD Premier Jour respectifs de Bucarest et Zagreb.
On November 14, 2014, the two postal administrations of Romania and Croatia issued a joint set consisting of two stamps devoted to the theme "Spirituality - Fortified Churches".
These fortified buildings were very important in the past, protecting both religious but also people from outside attacks.
These two stamps are respectively dedicated to the Evangelical Church of Cristian, Romania and the St. Nicolas Church of Komiža, Croatia.
As it is the case in some countries (Singapore for example), the Romanian Post had the good idea to release a joint FDC including the two Romanian stamps and the two Croatian stamps canceled with their respective FDC postmarks from Bucharest and Zagreb.

Ces 2 timbres communs ont été conçus à partir de photographies de Paolo Monfardin (église de Komiža) et de Mihai Vămăşescu (église de Cristian).
Les 2 administrations postales n'ont toutefois pas exploité ces photographies de la même manière : formats différents et vue plus large sur les timbres croates.
La poste croate a émis ces 2 timbres se-tenant dans un même bloc-feuillet (tirage : 35000) alors que la poste roumaine a décliné cette série en feuille de 32 timbres, en feuillet de 8 timbres + 1 vignette centrale et en bloc-feuillet (tirage limité de 321 exemplaires).
L'église évangélique de Cristian (située en Transylvanie, à 13 km de Braşov), monument historique, a été construite au 13ème siècle dans un style gothique, sous l'influence du monastère cistercien de Carta. La vieille église, dédiée à Saint-Nicolas, a été démolie en 1839 et l'église actuelle a été consacrée en 1841.
Sa tour a été renforcée en 1903 et équipée d'un haut toit incluant 4 flèches à chaque coin.

These two joint stamps have been designed from photographs by Paolo Monfardin (Church of Komiža) and Mihai Vămăşescu (Church of Cristian).
The two postal administrations have however used these photographs in a different way : different formats and a broader view on Croatian stamps.
The Croatian Post has issued these two se-tenant stamps in a same souvenir sheet (print run : 35,000) while the Romanian Post has declined this series in sheet of 32 stamps, in sheetlet of 8 stamps + 1 vignette and in a souvenir sheet (limited edition of 321 copies).
The Evangelical Church of Cristian (located in Transylvania, 13 km from Brasov), an historical monument, was built in the 13th century in a Gothic style under the influence of the Cistercian monastery in Carta. The old church, dedicated to St. Nicolas, was demolished in 1839 and the present church was consecrated in 1841. Its tower was strengthened in 1903 and equipped with a high roof including four spires at each corner.

Mihnea a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer ce 2ème FDC ci-dessus incluant à droite le timbre (1 L) de cette même série commune, consacré à l'église Saint-Nicolas de Komiža, située sur l'île de Vis en mer adriatique.
Cette petite ville de Komiža est connue pour ses vignes, ses pêcheurs et accueille de nombreux touristes ces dernières années.
L'église fortifiée (également un monastère) de Komiža, construite au 13ème siècle par des bénédictins, est le plus ancien édifice de ce genre en Dalmatie et dans toute la Croatie.
Mihnea a ajouté à gauche un timbre (2,10 L) faisant partie de la série EUROPA émise le 30 avril 2013 (thème : véhicules postaux).
Mihnea was kind enough to send me this 2nd FDC above including to the right the stamp (L 1.00) of that same joint series, dedicated to St. Nicolas Church in Komiža, located on the island of Vis, in the Adriatic Sea.
This small town of Komiža is known for its vineyards, fishermen and hosts many tourists in recent years.
The fortified church (also a monastery) of Komiža, built in the 13th century by Benedictine, is the oldest building of its kind in Dalmatia and all over Croatia.
Mihnea also used to the left a stamp (L 2.10) being part of the EUROPA series issued on April 30, 2013 (topic : postal vehicles).

La poste tchèque avait déjà émis en février 2014 une oblitération spéciale consacrée au projet Postcrossing, un site web créé en 2005, consistant à envoyer et à recevoir des cartes postales en provenance du monde entier.
Pour rappel, cette oblitération faisait référence à la foire internationale des collectionneurs Sběratel qui a eu lieu du 4 au 6 septembre 2014 à Prague.
Dans le cadre de cette foire Sběratel, une rencontre d'adeptes de Postcrossing avait lieu le 6 septembre 2014 et un nouveau TAD a été émis spécialement pour cette occasion !
Czech Post had already issued in February 2014 a special postmark dedicated to the Postcrossing project, a website created in 2005, allowing its members to send and receive postcards from all over the world. 
As a reminder, this cancellation was referring to the international collectors fair Sběratel which took place from September 4 to 6, 2014 in Prague.
As part of this Sběratel fair, a meeting of Postcrossing members was held on September 6, 2014 and a new cancellation was issued especially for this occasion !

C'est ce TAD qui a été appliqué sur la carte postale "Happy Postcrossing !" ci-dessus, émise également spécialement à l'occasion de cette rencontre Postcrossing. Merci beaucoup Bret :-)
A noter que ce TAD a été conçu par le fondateur de ce projet Postcrossing, le portugais Paulo Magalhães, ainsi qu'Ana, community manager et designer du site Postcrossing (tous les 2 vivent à Berlin).

Du 1er au 10 juillet 2014,  la poste tchèque a mis en circulation (dans le bureau postal n°1 de Prague) un TAD spécial consacré au 10ème anniversaire du site internet Exponet.
Exponet est un site (en tchèque, anglais et allemand) répertoriant actuellement plus de 620 expositions philatéliques (compétitives ou non) respectant les règles de la FIP pour la plupart.
Ce site permet ainsi aux philatélistes d'avoir un accès (plusieurs critères de recherche) à de véritables trésors.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir les nombreux souvenirs ci-dessous incluant ce TAD spécial, conçu par Pavel Sivko. Merci beaucoup Bret et Slavek :-)
From 1 to 10 July 2014, the Czech Post has released (in the post office No.1 in Prague) a special postmark devoted to the 10th anniversary of the Exponet website.
Exponet is a website (in Czech, English and German) currently listing more than 620 virtual philatelic exhibitions (competitive or not) according to the rules of the FIP for the most of them.
This site allows philatelists to have an access (multiple search criteria) to real treasures.
I was lucky to receive the many philatelic items below including this special postmark, designed by Pavel Sivko. Thank you very much Bret and Slavek :-)

Ce TAD représente le logo Exponet à l'intérieur d'un timbre ainsi qu'une souris pour évoquer l'aspect virtuel de ce site.
Sur cette 1ère lettre recommandée ci-dessus, Bret a utilisé la récente série de 2 timbres "véhicules historiques" (déjà évoquée sur ce blog), émis le 11 juin 2014, consacrée au bateau à vapeur François Joseph Ier et à la voiture Z4.
Le 3ème timbre (8 CZK), émis le 30 avril 1997, fait partie d'une série de 2 timbres (une émission commune avec Israël) consacrée à des monuments juifs de Prague, les voûtes gothiques à l'intérieur de la synagogue Vieille-Nouvelle (13ème siècle, quartier juif de Josefov) à Prague ici, la plus ancienne synagogue encore en activité en Europe.
A noter également la vignette recommandée personnalisée, incluant l'adresse du site Exponet et la mention 2004-2014.
This postmark is featuring the Exponet logo inside a stamp as well as a mouse to evoke the virtual aspect of this website.
On this first letter above, Bret used the recent set of 2 "historic vehicles" stamps (already mentioned on this blog), issued on June 11, 2014, devoted to the paddle steamer Francis Joseph I and to the Z4 car.
The third stamp (8 CZK), issued on April 30, 1997, is part of a series of two stamps (a joint issue with Israel) devoted to Jewish monuments of Prague, the Gothic vaults inside the Old-New Synagogue (13th century, Jewish district of Josefov) in Prague here, the oldest active synagogue in Europe. 
To note also the customized registered self-adhesive label, including the Exponet website address and the mention "2004-2014".

Sur ce 2ème pli recommandé ci-dessus, Bret a utilisé le timbre du splendide bloc-feuillet, émis le 2 octobre 2013 pour commémorer le 200ème anniversaire de la bataille de Leipzig, la plus importante confrontation n'ayant jamais eu lieu dans le cadre des guerres napoléoniennes en Europe (de 1803 à 1815).
Bret a complété son affranchissement avec un timbre de distributeur (valeur imprimée : 5 Kč) représentant le château de Veveří (Hrad Veveří) mis en circulation le 5 mars 2000.
A noter que 3 autres timbres de distributeurs du même type ont été émis entre 2002 et 2008, consacrés aux châteaux de Zvíkov, Jindřichův Hradec et Průhonice.
On this second registered letter above, Bret used the gorgeous stamp of the souvenir sheet, issued on October 2, 2013 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Leipzig, the largest confrontation that never took during the Napoleonic Wars in Europe (from 1803 to 1815).
Bret has also used a ATM stamp (printed value : 5 Kč) featuring the Veveří Castle (Hrad Veveří), issued on March 5, 2000.
To note that three other ATM stamps of the same type were issued between 2002 and 2008, dedicated to Zvíkov, Jindřichův Hradec and Průhonice castles.

Slavek m'a également envoyé le pli ci-dessus avec ce même TAD du 1er juillet 2014, affranchi avec le timbre EUROPA émis le 2 mai 2013 (thème : les véhicules postaux), représentant un ancien fourgon postal hippomobile utilisé pour le transport des colis.
Un exemplaire de ce fourgon postal, utilisé entre les 2 guerres mondiales, est exposé au musée postal de Vyšší Brod.
Slavek also sent me the cover above including the same postmark of July 1, 2014, franked with the EUROPA stamp issued on May 2, 2013 (topic : postal vehicles), depicting an old horse-drawn coach used to deliver parcels.
An original model of this postal coach, used between the two world wars, is exposed at the Postal Museum of Vyšší Brod.

The last E (25 Kč) permanent rate stamp above, issued on September 1, 2010, is devoted to the development of philately, to stamp collectors in particular.

Du 16 au 18 avril 2014, un TAD spécial a été mis en circulation au bureau de poste 1 de la ville tchèque de Turtnov, située dans le nord du pays, près de la frontière polonaise.
C'est ce TAD, conçu par Pavel Janata et Miloš Trýzna, qui a été appliqué sur la lettre ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Slavek :-)
Ce cachet a été émis pour commémorer à la fois le 85ème anniversaire du club philatélique de Trutnov et les 260 ans de présence postale dans cette ville située au pied des Monts des Géants.
Depuis le 13ème siècle, le dragon est le symbole de cette ville (il figure sur son blason) après qu'une légende ait raconté qu'un dragon a été tué avec des pierres par des enfants puis transporté dans le centre de la ville. On peut toujours l'observer accroché sur la façade d'une maison...

That postmark was issued to commemorate both the 85th anniversary of the philatelic club of Trutnov and the 260 years of postal presence in this town at the foot of the Giant Mountains.
Since the 13th century, the dragon is the symbol of this city (it appears on its coat of arms) after a legend telling that a dragon was killed with stones by children and then transported in the center of the city. It is still possible today to see this dragon hanging on the facade of a house...

Slavek a utilisé sur cette lettre le timbre EUROPA (25 CZK), conçu par Karel Dvořák et Jaroslav Tvrdoň, émis le 2 mai 2013, ayant pour thème "les véhicules postaux", représentant un ancien fourgon postal hippomobile utilisé pour le transport des colis.
Ce fourgon (modèle IV), un symbole de l'histoire postale tchécoslovaque (dont un exemplaire est exposé au musée postal de Vyšší Brod), a été conçu pour être tracté par un seul cheval, à partir d'un véhicule autrichien du même type.
This postmark is precisely featuring the sculpture of a dragon located, since 1903, at the center of a fountain in a park of this city of Trutnov.
Slavek used on this letter the EUROPA stamp (25 CZK), designed by Karel Dvořák and Jaroslav Tvrdoň, issued on May 2, 2013, devoted this year to "postal vehicles", depicting an old horse-drawn parcel coach used to deliver parcels. 
This coach (Model IV), a symbol of the Czechoslovak postal history (an original model is exposed at the Postal Museum of Vyšší Brod.), was designed to be towed by only one horse, based on an Austrian Post vehicle of the same type.

Dans un message publié sur ce blog le 6 juillet 2013, j'évoquais la série EUROPA (2 timbres) émise par la poste ukrainienne, ayant cette année pour thème les véhicules postaux.
Pour rappel, ces 2 timbres ont été émis dans une même feuille (tirage : 12500 feuilles) composée de 16 timbres (8 de chaque) ainsi que dans un carnet composé d'un bloc-feuillet (tirage : 14500) réunissant les 2 timbres.
C'est ce bloc-feuillet qui a été utilisé sur la jolie enveloppe illustrée ci-dessous postée en décembre 2013. Merci beaucoup Alexander :-)
Je ne suis pas parvenu a identifier précisément la ville sur le TAD...
In a post published on this blog on July 6, 2013, I mentioned the EUROPA series (2 stamps) issued by the Ukrainian post, devoted this year to postal vehicles.
As a reminder, these two stamps were issued in a single sheet (print run : 12,500 sheets) consisting of 16 stamps (8 of each) as well as in a booklet composed of a souvenir sheet (print run : 14,500) combining the two stamps.
It is that souvenir sheet that was used on the nice illustrated envelope below posted on December 2013. Thank you very much Alexander :-)

Pour rappel également, cette série, conçue par Valery Rudenko, évoque des moyens de transport postal actuels et plus anciens avec un camion MAZ-5440 (5,60 hryvnia) datant de 2013 et une voiture Moskvitch-400 (4,00 hryvnia) datant de 1953.
Moskvitch est une marque automobile qui a produit des voitures en Russie entre 1930 et 2006. Ce modèle Moskvitch-400, fabriquée à Moscou entre 1946 et 1954 (114000 exemplaires produits), a été la première voiture soviétique importée en Europe de l'ouest à partir de 1949.
A noter que le modèle 401, une version 400 légèrement améliorée, figurait sur un des 2 timbres EUROPA 2013 émis par la poste de Lituanie et qu'un camion postal MAZ (modèle 437143-340) figurait également sur un des 2 timbres EUROPA 2013 émis par la poste du Belarus... 
As a reminder also, this series, designed by Valery Rudenko, is featuring some current and older postal means of transport with a truck MAZ-5440 (5.60 hryvnia) dating from 2013 and a car Moskvich-400 (4.00 hryvnia) dating from 1953.
Moskvich is an automobile brand that produced cars in Russia between 1930 and 2006. This model Moskvich-400, manufactured in Moscow from 1946 to 1954 (114,000 cars produced) was the first Soviet car imported into Western Europe from 1949.
To note that the model 401, a slightly improved 400 version, was featured on one of the two EUROPA 2013 stamps issued by the Post of Lithuania and that a postal truck MAZ (437143-340 model) was also depicted on one of the two EUROPA stamps issued in 2013 by the Post of Belarus...

La poste norvégienne (Posten) a déjà officiellement annoncé qu'elle n'émettra aucun timbre EUROPA en 2014 (le thème retenu est les instruments de musique)...
Je ne connais pas exactement la raison mais la Norvège avait déjà interrompu l'émission de ces séries EUROPA entre 1993 et 2001.
Deux timbres EUROPA ont bien été émis en 2013 (le 10 juin) consacrés cette année aux véhicules postaux. Cette série a été utilisée sur la lettre ci-dessous (malheureusement sans aucune oblitération) envoyée récemment de la ville de Kongsvinger. Merci beaucoup Trond :-)
Conçue par Madeleine M. Karlstrøm, ces 2 timbres (tirage : 500000 chacun) incluant des parties argentées dans le fond ont été imprimés aux Pays-Bas par Joh. Enschedé Security Print.
Norway Post (Posten) has officially announced that it will not issue any EUROPA stamp in 2014 (the theme being the "musical instruments")...
I do not know exactly why but Norway had already stopped issuing these EUROPA series between 1993 and 2001.
Two EUROPA stamps were well issued in 2013 (on June 10) devoted this year to postal vehicles.
This series was used on the cover below (unfortunately without any cancellation) sent recently from the town of Kongsvinger. Thank you very much Trond :-)
Designed by Madeleine M. Karlstrøm, these two stamps (print run : 500,000 each) including silver parts in the background were printed in the Netherlands by Joh. Enschedé Security Print.

Avec cette série, la poste norvégienne illustre des moyens de transport postaux actuels, un véhicule électrique Ford Connect Electric (15 Kr) et d'autres utilisés au début du 20ème siècle, une motocyclette Harley-Davidson (13 Kr) datant de 1932 et conservée au musée postal norvégien à Lillehammer.
Les premières liaisons postales ont été effectuées dans le pays par voie maritime à partir du début du 19ème siècle puis par train (les bureaux de poste étaient alors situés dans les gares !).
Le 1er véhicule postal motorisé a été mis en service en 1913 pour relier les villes de Otta et Åndalsnes. Les motocyclettes utilisées alors, trop dangereuses en hiver, furent remplacées en 1937 par des véhicules à 4 roues.
La 1ère liaison postale par voie aérienne a été effectuée en 1920 (route Horten-Oslo-Arendal-Kristansand).
Plus récemment, Posten a commencé à investir dans des véhicules électriques en 1994 et, depuis 2012, expérimente des véhicules roulant au biogaz et au gaz naturel.

The first postal links took place in the country by sea from the early 19th century and then by train (the post offices were then located in the railway stations !).
The first postal motor vehicle was put into service in 1913 to connect the cities of Otta and Åndalsnes. Motorcycles used then, too dangerous in winter, were replaced in 1937 by 4-wheel vehicles.
The first airmail service was carried out in 1920 (on the Horten-Oslo-Arendal-Kristansand route).
More recently, Posten invested in electric vehicles from 1994 and, since 2012, is experimenting some vehicles running on biogas and natural gas.

La poste des ïles Féroé (Posta) émet ses propres timbres depuis 1975 et ses premiers timbres EUROPA depuis 1979.
Le thème retenu pour cette année 2013 (20ème anniversaire de PostEurop) était les véhicules postaux et les îles Féroé ont émis, comme de coutume, une série de 2 timbres.
Ces 2 timbres, imprimés en Autriche par Österreichische Staatsdruckerei GmbH, sont disponible en version gommée et en version autocollante dans un carnet composé de 8 timbres (4 de chaque).
Ces 2 timbres (version gommée) ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessous postée le 10 décembre 2013 de la capitale de cet archipel, Tórshavn.
The Post of the Faroe Islands (Posta) is issuing its own stamps since 1975 and its first EUROPA stamps since 1979.
The theme for this year 2013 (20th anniversary of Posteurop) was the "Postal vehicles" and the Faroe Islands have issued, as usual, a set of two stamps.
These two stamps, printed in Austria by Österreichische Staatsdruckerei GmbH, are available in gummed version and in self-adhesive version in a booklet consisting of 8 stamps (4 of each).
These two stamps (gummed version) were used on the cover below posted on December 10, 2013 in the capital of the archipelago, Tórshavn. 

A noter l'autre TAD à gauche sur cette enveloppe appliqué le 8 novembre 2013 à Paris lors du dernier Salon Philatélique d'Automne sur le stand de la poste des Féroé (j'avais alors confectionné moi-même cette lettre).
Pour concevoir cette série, la poste des Féroé aurait pu représenter des véhicules plus anciens ayant marqué l'histoire postale de ces îles, comme ces 4x4 Suzuki (modèle de 1985) ou ces mobylettes Puch Maxi, très fiables, fabriquées en Autriche.
Mais ce sont des véhicules récents utilisés actuellement pour la collecte et la distribution de lettres ou de colis qui ont été choisis : une voiture Fiat Dublo MAX de 2012 (timbre à 7 Kr - tarif intérieur jusqu'à 50g) et un camion Scania R420 de 2007 (timbre à 12,50 Kr - tarif Europe jusqu'à 50g).
Ces 2 véhicules bleus arborent l'emblème actuel de la poste des Féroé (290 employés) disposant de 34 bureaux de poste répartis dans les différentes îles.
To note the other postmark to the left on this envelope applied on November 8, 2013 in Paris at the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" on the stand of the Faroe Post (I had then prepared myself this letter).
By designing this stamp set, the Post of the Faroe Islands could have been able to choose older vehicles that have marked the postal history of these islands, such as these 4x4 Suzuki (model 1985) or these Puch Maxi moped, very reliable, manufactured in Austria.
But these are more recent vehicles currently used for the collect and delivery of letters and parcels which were chosen : a car Fiat Dublo MAX of 2012 (7 Kr stamp - domestic rate up to 50g) and a truck Scania R420 of 2007 (12.50 Kr stamp - Europe rate up to 50g).
These two blue vehicles feature the current emblem of the Faroe's Post (290 employees) having 34 post offices in the different islands.

La Royal Mail a émis, le 13 août 2013, deux séries de timbres consacrées à des véhicules britanniques entrés aujourd'hui dans la légende : 6 timbres représentant des voitures dites "pure-sang" ("Thoroughbreds") et un bloc-feuillet (4 timbres "1st", soit 0,60£) consacré à différents véhicules utilitaires dits "chevaux de trait" ("Workhorses").
C'est ce dernier bloc-feuillet qui figure sur la lettre ci-dessous qui a transité (la date précise n'est pas lisible) par le centre de tri de Mount Pleasant à Londres.
Cette lettre a été confectionnée lors du dernier Salon Philatélique d'Automne à Paris, d'où ce TAD spécial de la Royal Mail à droite, évoquant l'Arc de Triomphe !
La marge inférieure de ce bloc comporte, pour chaque véhicule, les années de production, les caractéristiques du moteur ainsi que la vitesse maximale.
The Royal Mail has issued on August 13, 2013, two sets of stamps dedicated to British vehicles having now entered in the legend : 6 stamps depicting "thoroughbred" cars and a souvenir sheet (four "1st" stamps, £0.60) devoted to different commercial vehicles, called "workhorses".
This last souvenir sheet was used on the cover below that passed (the exact date is not readable) by the Mount Pleasant mail sorting center in London.
This letter was prepared at the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" in Paris, whence this special postmark of the Royal Mail to the right, referring to the Arc de Triomphe !
The lower margin of that sheet includes, for each vehicle, the years of production, the engine characteristics as well as the top speed.

Ce bloc (conception : Robert Maude et Sarah Davies), très réussi, a la particularité d'inclure le timbre EUROPA 2013 émis cette année par la poste britannique, dont le thème (pour rappel !) était les véhicules postaux.
Ce timbre EUROPA, ci-dessus à gauche, représente un véhicule Morris Minor, produit entre 1953 et 1971, utilisé en particulier par la Royal Mail (d'où sa couleur rouge ici) pour le ramassage et la livraison du courrier.
Le timbre suivant montre un des célèbres "black cabs" (Austin FX4) qui a sillonné les rues de Londres pendant près de 40 ans, jusqu'en 1997. Sa production a été reprise depuis par la société LTI.
La petite berline suivante, de type "panda car" (à cause de ses couleurs différentes), une Ford Anglia 105E, a été produite entre 1959 et 1967, principalement pour la police britannique.
Le dernier timbre à droite représente un Land Rover Defender 110, produit depuis 1990, un véhicule prisé par les agriculteurs, l'armée ou des services d'urgence comme les garde-côtes ("Her Majesty's Coastguard") ici.
This souvenir sheet (design : Robert Maude and Sarah Davies), very nice, has the particularity to include the EUROPA 2013 stamp issued this year by the Royal Mail, whose theme (as a reminder !) was the "Postal vehicles".

Petit rappel historique et postal : la Bosnie-Herzégovine est née en 1992 de l'éclatement de la Yougoslavie et est composée de deux entités : la fédération de Bosnie-Herzégovine (elle-même constituée de deux sous-collectivités croates et bosniaques) et la république serbe de Bosnie (Republika Srpska).
Fait unique au monde, 3 opérateurs postaux cohabitent dans le pays : la poste de la fédération de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo), la poste croate (Mostar) et la poste de la république serbe de Bosnie (Banja Luka).
J'avais déjà partagé avec vous sur ce blog 2 lettres affranchies avec les séries EUROPA 2013 émises respectivement par la poste de Mostar et de Sarajevo.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir la série EUROPA 2013 émise cette fois par la Republika Srpska, utilisée pour affranchir la lettre ci-dessous postée le 14 novembre 2013 de la ville de Doboj. Merci beaucoup Edin :-)
As a (historical and postal) reminder : Bosnia and Herzegovina was born in 1992 from the breakup of Yugoslavia and is composed of two entities : the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (itself composed of two Croatian and Bosnian sub-communities) and the Serb Republic of Bosnia (Republika Srpska).
Unique in the world, three postal operators coexist in the country : the Post of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo), the Croatian Post (Mostar) and the Post of the Serb Republic of Bosnia (Banja Luka).
I've already shared with you on this blog two covers franked with the series EUROPA 2013 respectively issued by the posts of Mostar and Sarajevo.
I was lucky to receive the EUROPA 2013 series issued this time by the Republika Srpska, used to frank the cover below mailed on November 14, 2013 from the town of Doboj. Thank you very much Edin :-)

Consacrée cette année aux véhicules postaux ("Poštanska vozila"), cette série EUROPA (conception : Djumić/Došenović), émise le 12 juillet 2013, a été déclinée, pour chaque timbre, en feuillet (8 timbres + 1 vignette centrale) ainsi que dans un même carnet de 6 timbres (3 de chaque).
Chaque timbre (1 et 2 KM) a été imprimé en 40000 exemplaires (20000 pour le carnet).
Les premiers véhicules motorisés utilisés pour le transport et la distribution du courrier, sont apparus dans cette région à partir de 1899 sous l'empire austro-hongrois.
Ils furent en service jusqu'au début de la 1ère guerre mondiale lorsqu'ils furent réquisitionnés pour un usage militaire.
Après cette guerre, les forces alliées fournirent des véhicules militaires au Royaume des Serbes, Croates et Slovènes, transformés en véhicules postaux.
Les véhicules représentés sur ces 2 timbres EUROPA datent de cette époque : une fourgonnette de marque Magirus (garage de Goražde) et un véhicule qui était utilisé sur la ligne Mostar-Split-Imotski.

After this war, the Allied forces provided military vehicles to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, transformed into postal vehicles.
The vehicles featured on these two EUROPA stamps date from this period : a Magirus brand's one (Goražde car garage) and a vehicle that was used on the postal line Mostar-Split-Imotski.

C'est à nouveau un véhicule électrique Kangoo du constructeur automobile français Renault qui a été choisi pour illustrer un des 2 timbres (0,85€) émis le 2 mai 2013 par la poste du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg dans sa série EUROPA dont le thème cette année est les "véhicules postaux".
Pour rappel, ce même véhicule a été également choisi pour figurer sur des timbres EUROPA 2013 émis en Autriche, Belgique, France ou Serbie. 
Ce thème des véhicules postaux, symboles de distribution du courrier dans les villes et les campagnes, à été choisi spécialement à l'occasion du 20ème anniversaire de l'organisation postale européenne PostEurop qui gère ces émissions EUROPA.
It is once again a Kangoo electric vehicle manufactured by French automaker Renault that has been chosen to illustrate one of the two stamps (€ 0.85) issued on May 2, 2013 by the Post of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in its EUROPA series devoted to the "Postal vehicles" this year.
As a reminder, that same vehicle was also featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2013 in Austria, Belgium, France or Serbia.
This theme of postal vehicles, symbols of mail delivery in urban and rural areas, has been specially selected to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the European postal organization PostEurop managing these EUROPA stamp issues.

C'est cette série EUROPA 2013 qui a été utilisée sur la lettre ci-dessus postée le 11 novembre 2013 de la ville de Luxembourg.
Le timbre "Kangoo" mentionne que l'administration postale locale est un acteur du développement durable, avec une flotte de plus de 60 véhicules électriques aujourd'hui, soit le plus important parc de véhicules de ce type au Luxembourg.
L'autre timbre (0,60€) représente un véhicule Citroën 2CV AZU en service au Luxembourg au début des années 1960, faisant partie aujourd'hui des collections du musée des Postes et Télécommunications.
Ces 2 timbres sont presque 100% français puisqu'ils ont été aussi imprimés en France par Cartor Security Printing SA !
A noter enfin le cachet spécial à gauche, émis par la poste luxembourgeoise pendant le dernier Salon Philatélique d'Automne à Paris, représentant un appareil photo ancien, sans doute en référence au bloc-feuillet émis le 24 septembre 2013, consacré à la célèbre collection "The Family of Man", regroupant 503 photographies rassemblées par Edward Steichen pour le Museum of Modern Art de New York.
It is that EUROPA 2013 stamp set that was used on the cover above mailed on November 11, 2013 from the city of Luxembourg.
The "Kangoo" stamp states that country's Post is a key player in sustainable development, with more than 60 electric vehicles today, i.e. the largest fleet of its kind in Luxembourg.
The other stamp (€ 0.60) depicts a Citroën 2CV AZU vehicle in service in Luxembourg at the beginning of the 1960s, now part of the collections of the Postal Museum.
These two stamps are almost 100% French since they were also printed in France by Cartor Security Printing SA !
It is worth noting the special postmark to the left, issued by the Luxembourg Post during the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" in Paris, showing an old camera, probably in reference to the souvenir sheet issued on September 24, 2013, dedicated to the famous "The Family of Man" collection, comprising 503 photographs brought together by Edward Steichen for the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

En attendant peut-être avant la fin de l'année la série de la poste georgienne, la poste albanaise est la dernière en date à avoir émis, le 4 octobre 2013, sa série de timbres EUROPA.
Deux timbres se-tenant (80 lekë et 200 lekë) émis dans une même mini-feuille de 10 timbres (5 paires), conçus par Laert Kraja, ont été émis (tirage : 13750 séries et 50000 timbres à 80 lekë).
A noter qu'un carnet composé des 2 mêmes timbres a également été émis à 4000 exemplaires.
Waiting for, maybe before the end of the year, the series issued by the Georgian Post, the Albanian Post is the latest one to have issued on October 4, 2013, its EUROPA stamp set.
Two se-tenant stamps (80 lekë and 200 lekë) issued in the same mini-sheet of 10 stamps (5 pairs), designed by Laert Kraja, have been issued (print run : 13,750 sets and 50,000 stamps at 80 lekë).

Cette carte postale est consacrée à l'ancienne ville grecque d'Apollonia fondée au 6ème siècle avant JC et située actuellement près de la ville albanaise de Fier (centre-ouest du pays).
Le monument des Agonothètes avec ses 6 colonnes de style corinthien, un des mieux conservés de cette cité antique, est représenté ici.
This postcard is dedicated to the ancient Greek city of Apollonia founded in the 6th century BC and located today near the Albanian town of Fier (center-west of the country).
