"40 Years of the UNO City in Vienna" prepaid envelope from the United Nations (Vienna Office)

Enveloppe pré-timbrée "40 ans de la Cité de l'ONU à Vienne" des Nations Unies (bureau de Vienne) 

Le 24 août 2019, pour la toute première fois, l'Administration postale des Nations Unies (APNU) à Vienne a mis en circulation une enveloppe préaffranchie (0,90€), consacrée au 40ème anniversaire de la Cité de l'ONU et de l'administration postale de l'ONU à Vienne ("40 Jahre UNO-City und UNO-Postverwaltung Wien").

Le Vienna International Centre, également connu sous le nom de Cité de l'ONU, est l'un des sièges des Nations Unies aux côtés de New York, Genève et Nairobi.
La Cité de l'ONU abrite de nombreuses organisations de l'ONU qui font avancer la paix, les droits de l'Homme et le développement durable de maintes façons. Leur objectif est d'assurer une utilisation pacifique de la technologie nucléaire et de l'espace, de mettre fin aux essais nucléaires, de stopper la pauvreté ainsi que de réduire les effets internationaux de la drogue, de la criminalité et du terrorisme. 
On August 24, 2019, for the very first time, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) in Vienna issued a prepaid envelope (€0.90) commemorating the 40th anniversary of the UNO City and the UN Postal Administration in Vienna ("40 Jahre UNO-City und UNO-Postverwaltung Wien").

The Vienna International Centre—also known as the UNO City—is one of the United Nations' headquarters, alongside New York, Geneva, and Nairobi.
The UNO City houses numerous UN organizations that advance peace, human rights, and sustainable development in many ways. Their goal is to ensure the peaceful use of nuclear technology and outer space, end nuclear testing, eradicate poverty, and mitigate the international impact of drugs, crime, and terrorism.  

L'APNU a émis ses premiers timbres pour le bureau de New York en 1951. En 1968, elle a conclu un accord avec les autorités postales suisses et, le 4 octobre 1969, a commencé à émettre des timbres libellés en francs suisses pour le bureau de Genève. Un accord conclu avec l'Autriche en 1979 a abouti à l'émission de timbres similaires pour le bureau de Vienne.
Tolga a utilisé également 2 timbres faisant partie d'une série courante (4 timbres, tirage : 320000) émise le 28 janvier 2008, illustrant différentes statues emblématiques de Vienne et Salzbourg.
Le timbre à gauche (0,10€) représente le monument à Johann-Strauss à Vienne, situé près du Kursalon Hübner dans le Stadtpark. Ce monument (1921) est une arche blanche avec en son centre la statue dorée du compositeur Johann Strauss II (1825-1899) en train de jouer du violon.
L'autre timbre (0,15€) illustre un groupe sculpté situé au pied de la fontaine de Pallas Athéna à Vienne, en face du bâtiment du Parlement autrichien. Inauguré en 1902, cette fontaine comporte au centre une statue de Pallas Athéna, haute de 5,5 mètres, debout sur une colonne.
Le Danube en femme et l'Inn en homme barbu sont représentés sur le timbre. 
The UNPA issued its first stamps for the New York office in 1951. In 1968, it concluded an agreement with the Swiss postal authorities and, on October 4, 1969, began issuing stamps denominated in Swiss francs for the Geneva office. An agreement reached with Austria in 1979 led to the issue of similar stamps for the Vienna office.
Tolga also used two stamps from a definitive series (4 stamps, print run: 320,000) issued on January 28, 2008, featuring iconic statues from Vienna and Salzburg.
The stamp on the left (€0.10) depicts the Johann Strauss monument in Vienna, located near the Kursalon Hübner in the Stadtpark. This monument (1921) consists of a white arch framing a central gilded statue of the composer Johann Strauss II (1825-1899) playing the violin.
The other stamp (€0.15) illustrates a sculptural group at the base of the Pallas Athena Fountain in Vienna, opposite the Austrian Parliament building. Inaugurated in 1902, the fountain features a central 5.5-meter-tall statue of Pallas Athena standing atop a column.
The Danube, depicted as a woman, and the Inn, depicted as a bearded man, are shown on the stamp.

Le 17 mars 2026 (pourquoi pas en 2025 ?), la poste espagnole Correos a mis en circulation un timbre consacré à ce 80ème anniversaire des Nations Unies ("80 años de la Organización de Naciones Unidas").

Il reproduit simplement ce logo des 80 ans des Nations Unies, sans mentionner son slogan associé. 
L'Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU) a été créée le 24 octobre 1945, au lendemain de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, afin d'assurer la paix et la sécurité internationales, de favoriser les relations amicales entre les États et de promouvoir le progrès social et les droits de l'homme. 
L'ONU avait refusé initialement d'admettre l'Espagne dès 1945 car le régime de Franco était de nature fasciste et avait été instauré avec l'aide du régime nazi en Allemagne et du régime fasciste en Italie. 
L'Espagne a déposé sa demande d'adhésion le 23 septembre 1955 et a rejoint l'ONU le 14 décembre suivant. Elle a siégé au Conseil de sécurité en tant que membre non permanent à cinq reprises.
Tout au long de cette période, et plus particulièrement depuis le retour de la démocratie après la mort de Franco en novembre 1975, l'Espagne s'est activement impliquée au sein de l'organisation, réaffirmant la nécessité pour la communauté internationale de reposer sur les piliers que sont la sécurité, le développement et le respect des droits de l'homme.

The United Nations (UN) was established on October 24, 1945—in the wake of World War II—to ensure international peace and security, foster friendly relations among states, and promote social progress and human rights.
The UN initially refused to admit Spain in 1945 because the Franco regime was fascist in nature and had been established with the help of the Nazi regime in Germany and the fascist regime in Italy.
Spain submitted its application for membership on September 23, 1955, and joined the UN on December 14 of that same year. It has served as a non-permanent member of the Security Council on five occasions.
Throughout this period—and particularly since the return of democracy following Franco's death in November 1975—Spain has been actively involved in the organization, reaffirming the need for the international community to be based on the pillars of security, development and respect for human rights.

L'Assemblée générale, ayant reçu la communication du Conseil de sécurité, en date du 24 février 1984, recommandant l'admission du Brunei Darussalam a l'Organisation des Nations Unies, décide d'admettre le pays lors d'une séance plénière le 21 septembre 1984.
Conformément à un accord avec le Royaume-Uni, le sultanat de Brunei Darussalam accède en effet à l'indépendance le 1er janvier 1984.
L'adhésion du Brunei Darussalam aux Nations Unies lui a permis de poursuivre et de promouvoir sa politique étrangère au sein des instances multilatérales, notamment en renforçant ses relations et en développant des liens d'amitié avec les pays membres.
De même, le Brunei Darussalam adhère fermement aux valeurs et principes de la Charte des Nations Unies. À cet égard, il réaffirme son soutien indéfectible au rôle essentiel joué par les Nations Unies dans le maintien de la paix et de la sécurité internationales, ainsi qu’à ses efforts pour promouvoir le développement économique et social des États membres. 
The General Assembly, having received the Security Council's communication of 24 February 1984 recommending the admission of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations, decided to admit the country at a plenary meeting on 21 September 1984.
In accordance with an agreement with the United Kingdom, the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam indeed gained its independence on 1 January 1984.
Brunei Darussalam's membership in the United Nations has enabled it to pursue and promote its foreign policy within multilateral forums, notably by strengthening its relations and developing ties of friendship with member states.
Likewise, Brunei Darussalam firmly adheres to the values ​​and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. In this regard, it reaffirms its unwavering support for the essential role played by the United Nations in maintaining international peace and security, as well as for its efforts to promote the economic and social development of Member States.  

Comme d'autres administrations postales (une vingtaine), la poste du sultanat de Brunei Darussalam a émis, le 24 octobre 2015 (Journée des Nations Unies), un bloc-feuillet (3 timbres à 0,70 BND) pour commémorer le 70ème anniversaire de la création des Nations Unies. 
Ce bloc-feuillet a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus, envoyée le 31 janvier 2026 depuis la ville de Seria. Merci beaucoup Andy ! 
Le timbre en haut à gauche comporte le logo officiel de ce 70ème anniversaire constitué du nombre "70" (avec l'emblème des Nations Unies à l'intérieur du "0") accompagné du slogan "Une ONU forte pour un monde meilleur", en anglais ici.

Like other postal administrations (around twenty), the Brunei Darussalam Post issued a souvenir sheet (3 stamps at 0.70 BND each) on October 24, 2015 (United Nations Day) to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
This souvenir sheet was used on the cover above, sent on January 31, 2026, from the city of Seria. Thank you very much, Andy!

To celebrate this 80th anniversary, the Indian Post, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and MyGov, organized a nationwide stamp design competition. Nearly 740,000 students participated, creatively expressing India's vision of global leadership and multilateralism.
This stamp reproduces the winning design, created by Shrestha Majumdar. This initiative reflects the commitment of Indian youth to peace, unity, and sustainable global progress.  

Ce timbre, ne comportant pas le logo officiel de ce 80ème anniversaire des Nations Unies (il figure sur le FDC officiel), représente une colombe de la paix tenant le drapeau de l'Inde dans son bec, avec l'emblème des Nations Unies dans le fond.

This stamp, which does not feature the official logo for this 80th anniversary of the United Nations (it appears on the official First Day Cover), depicts a dove of peace holding the Indian flag in its beak, with the United Nations emblem in the background.
India and the United Nations share a commitment to multilateralism and dialogue, which they consider essential for addressing global challenges. As the world's largest democracy and a full member of the United Nations (since October 30, 1945), India has contributed to the achievement of UN objectives in the following areas: peacebuilding and peacekeeping, sustainable development, poverty alleviation, climate action, disarmament, human rights, health, migration, cybersecurity, space, and advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.
The Indian Post has previously issued commemorative stamps to mark the 9th, 40th, 50th and 75th anniversaries of the UN, in 1954, 1985, 1995 and 2020 respectively. In 2016, the Indian Post and the United Nations Postal Administration jointly issued stamps for UN Women's HeForShe solidarity movement.

La Grèce est devenue membre des Nations Unies le 25 octobre 1945 et siège actuellement au Conseil de Sécurité pour la période 2025-2026 en tant que membre non permanent, avec le dialogue, la diplomatie et la démocratie pour priorité.
Aujourd'hui, l'ONU compte 193 états membres. Ses principaux organes sont l'Assemblée générale, le Conseil de sécurité, le Conseil économique et social, le Conseil de tutelle, la Cour internationale de Justice et le Secrétariat, dirigé par le Secrétaire général.  
Tolga a utilisé un des 4 timbres (2€, tirage : 25000) d'une série (conception : Marina Lasithiotaki) émise le 17 septembre 2025, consacrée à des itinéraires architecturaux urbains, illustrant des quartiers d'Athènes de différentes périodes en particulier.
Ce timbre illustre le nouveau musée de l'Acropole (conçu par l'architecte franco-suisse Bernard Tschumi) construit entre 2003 et 2009, l'un des principaux musées archéologiques du pays. 
Le musée abrite les objets provenant des monuments et des fouilles sur l'Acropole : bas-reliefs, statues et céramiques allant de la Préhistoire à l'antiquité tardive. Le musée se tourne entièrement vers la colline de l'Acropole par plusieurs moyens : baies vitrées et larges fenêtres - pour une contemplation optimale de ce chef-d'œuvre de l'humanité.
Greece became a member of the United Nations on October 25, 1945, and currently serves on the Security Council for the 2025-2026 term as a non-permanent member, prioritizing dialogue, diplomacy, and democracy.

This stamp depicts the new Acropolis Museum (designed by the Franco-Swiss architect Bernard Tschumi), built between 2003 and 2009, one of the country's leading archaeological museums.
The museum houses artifacts from the monuments and excavations on the Acropolis: bas-reliefs, statues, and ceramics dating from prehistory to late antiquity. The museum is entirely oriented towards the Acropolis hill through various means: glass walls and large windows – allowing for optimal contemplation of this masterpiece of humanity.

Le timbre au milieu à gauche (4 PEN, tirage : 5000), émis le 4 octobre 2024 dans le cadre des célébrations du 200ème anniversaire de l'indépendance (étalées entre 2021 et 2024, année du 200ème anniversaire des batailles de Junín et d'Ayacucho, qui ont consolidé l'indépendance du Pérou), rend hommage aux rabonas, des femmes qui accompagnaient les soldats d'infanterie.
Généralement d'origine indigène, elles s'étaient engagées volontairement pour la guerre afin d'aider les soldats, qui étaient le plus souvent leurs maris, leurs frères ou d'autres membres de leur famille. Elles étaient chargées de transporter les provisions, de préparer les repas et de prendre soin des soldats, ainsi que de leur prodiguer les premiers soins s'ils tombaient au combat, et même de prendre les armes pour combattre à leurs côtés.  
Le dernier timbre (4 PEN, tirage : 5000), émis le 7 octobre 2024, est consacrée à une orchidée (Comparettia moroniae), découverte en 2007 par la Péruvienne Ériça Morón et son époux près de Tingo María, dans le département de Huánuco, au Pérou. 
Peru has actively participated in peacekeeping operations since 1958. These UN-supported missions deploy troops and police forces to conflict zones. Peru currently has 251 military personnel and 16 members of the National Police deployed in six peacekeeping missions, ranking it 40th among the largest contributors of uniformed personnel to UN missions. Its largest contribution is to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), featured on this stamp.

The stamp in the middle left (4 PEN, print run: 5000), issued on October 4, 2024, as part of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of independence (spanning 2021 to 2024, the year of the 200th anniversary of the battles of Junín and Ayacucho, which consolidated Peru's independence), pays tribute to the rabonas, the women who accompanied infantry soldiers.
Generally of indigenous origin, they volunteered for the war to help the soldiers, who were most often their husbands, brothers, or other family members. They were responsible for carrying supplies, preparing meals, and caring for the soldiers, as well as providing first aid if they fell in battle, and even taking up arms to fight alongside them.
The last stamp (4 PEN, print run: 5000), issued on October 7, 2024, is dedicated to an orchid (Comparettia moroniae), discovered in 2007 by the Peruvian Ériça Morón and her husband near Tingo María, in the department of Huánuco, Peru.

La République démocratique populaire lao (Laos) est devenue membre des Nations Unies le 14 décembre 1955. Depuis lors, et pendant de nombreuses décennies, le pays a maintenu une coopération étroite et constante avec le système des Nations Unies, conformément à sa politique étrangère à chaque étape.
Notamment, lors du IVe Congrès du Parti, fin 1986, la politique étrangère a été renouvelée, passant de "Paix, Indépendance, Amitié et Socialisme" à "Paix, Indépendance, Amitié et Coopération", dans le but de promouvoir des relations internationales plus larges et de créer des conditions favorables au développement socio-économique. 
Ce principe demeure aujourd'hui le fondement de la politique étrangère du Laos, reposant sur la recherche d'une coopération ouverte et multiforme. Le Laos a toujours respecté ses obligations et contribué activement aux instances des Nations Unies, notamment en soutenant les efforts de l'ONU pour maintenir la paix et la sécurité, prévenir les conflits et les courses aux armements, promouvoir le désarmement, renforcer les relations entre les pays, accroître la coopération au développement et relever les défis socio-économiques, culturels, environnementaux, humanitaires et relatifs aux droits de l'homme... 
The Lao People's Democratic Republic (Laos) became a member of the United Nations on December 14, 1955. Since then, and for many decades, the country has maintained close and consistent cooperation with the United Nations system, in accordance with its foreign policy at every stage.
Notably, at the Fourth Party Congress in late 1986, the foreign policy was renewed, shifting from "Peace, Independence, Friendship, and Socialism" to "Peace, Independence, Friendship, and Cooperation," with the aim of promoting broader international relations and creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development.
This principle remains the foundation of Laos' foreign policy today, based on the pursuit of open and multifaceted cooperation. Laos has always respected its obligations and actively contributed to United Nations bodies, notably by supporting UN efforts to maintain peace and security, prevent conflicts and arms races, promote disarmament, strengthen relations between countries, increase development cooperation and address socio-economic, cultural, environmental, humanitarian and human rights challenges...

Ces 2 timbres (7000 LAK, tirage : 4000 chacun, conception : Vongsavanh Damlongsouk) ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 10 décembre 2025 (4 jours avant la date d'émission officielle...) depuis Vientiane, la capitale. Merci beaucoup Edwin !
Ces 2 timbres ont été également imprimés dans un même bloc-feuillet, en version dentelée et non dentelée (tirage : 1000 chacun, prix de vente : 25000 LAK). 
A noter que depuis le 28 novembre 2025, la poste laotienne accepte les affranchissements en timbres que sur les cartes postales... un sticker doit désormais être appliqué sur les lettres domestiques et internationales, comme sur cette enveloppe avec une valeur de 24000 LAK (les 14000 LAK correspondant aux 2 timbres ne sont pas pris en compte).

The founding document - the United Nations Charter - was drafted by representatives of 51 countries at the United Nations Conference held in San Francisco from April 25 to June 26, 1945.
Slovak diplomat Ján Papánek, a member of the Czechoslovak delegation, contributed to the final drafting of the Charter. Alongside Štefan Osuský, Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Commission of the League of Nations, the predecessor of the UN, they played an important role in ensuring Slovakia's place in the development of multilateralism.

Le 9 mai 2025, la poste slovène a mis en circulation une intéressante série (5 timbres) intitulée "Paix" dont un (1,79€) reproduisant ce logo des 80 ans des Nations Unies.

For 80 years, by promoting peace, human rights and social progress, including access to healthcare and education, the United Nations has improved the lives of people around the world, creating better living standards for all.
The other 4 stamps in this series illustrate various events that allowed Slovenia to live in peace after the end of the Second World War, in particular partisans greeting the crowd on board a truck in the streets of Ljubljana on May 9, 1945 (€0.92).  

Une session du premier gouvernement slovène à Ajdovščina, le 5 mai 1945, est illustrée sur le timbre suivant (1,07€). Le mouvement de résistance slovène a constamment cherché à se transformer en une organisation étatique capable de gouverner la Slovénie au sein d'une Yougoslavie à structure fédérale, sur la base de l'autodétermination nationale.
Les 20 et 21 janvier 1945, en plein cœur des derniers combats de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la seule compétition de sports d'hiver connue en temps de guerre se déroula à Cerkno, dans une région tenue par les partisans. Les compétitions sportives ne disparurent jamais complètement pendant la guerre et nombre d'entre elles furent également organisées au sein d'unités militaires. Le timbre (1,20€) illustre une compétition de saut à ski à Cerkno, le 7 novembre 1944.
Le 4ème timbre (1,50€) reproduite la une du journal "Partizanski dnevnik" du 24 décembre 1944. "Partizanski dnevnik" était le seul quotidien du mouvement de libération nationale slovène, il parut pour la première fois en novembre 1943. Comme toutes les publications clandestines des partisans, le journal était distribué quotidiennement par coursiers dans les régions de Primorska et de Gorenjska.
Le 13 mai 1945, le journal fut rebaptisé "Primorski dnevnik" et est toujours publié aujourd'hui comme principal journal de la minorité slovène en Italie. 
A session of the first Slovenian government in Ajdovščina on May 5, 1945, is depicted on the following stamp (€1.07). The Slovenian resistance movement consistently sought to transform itself into a state organization capable of governing Slovenia within a federal Yugoslavia, based on national self-determination.
On January 20 and 21, 1945, in the midst of the final battles of World War II, the only known wartime winter sports competition took place in Cerkno, in a partisan-held region. Sports competitions never completely disappeared during the war, and many were also organized within military units. The stamp (€1.20) features a ski jumping competition in Cerkno on November 7, 1944.
The fourth stamp (€1.50) depicts the front page of the newspaper "Partizanski dnevnik" from December 24, 1944. "Partizanski dnevnik" was the only daily newspaper of the Slovenian national liberation movement; it first appeared in November 1943. Like all clandestine partisan publications, the newspaper was distributed daily by courier in the Primorska and Gorenjska regions.
On May 13, 1945, the newspaper was renamed "Primorski dnevnik" and is still published today as the main newspaper of the Slovene minority in Italy.

En 2024, l'Union Postale Universelle (UPU) célèbre son 150ème anniversaire. Le 9 octobre 1874, 22 pays se sont réunis pour signer le Traité de Berne, créant ainsi l'Union générale des postes, qui deviendra ensuite l'Union Postale Universelle (à partir de 1878).
150 ans plus tard, l'UPU unit à présent les réseaux postaux de 192 pays membres. Elle a ainsi concrétisé la vision de ses fondateurs, qui consistait à établir un territoire postal unique pour servir toutes les populations, où qu'elles se trouvent.
Avec le thème de ce 150ème anniversaire, "150 ans d'engagement pour la communication et le développement des peuples à travers le monde", l'UPU célèbre cette réalisation et renforce son engagement à servir les populations pour les années et siècles à venir.
Tout au long de cette année 2024, l'UPU organise une série d'événements et des campagnes visant à rendre hommage à la richesse de son passé, à la pertinence de son présent et aux promesses de son avenir, en utilisant en particulier le hashtag #UPU150 sur les réseaux sociaux.
In 2024, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) celebrates its 150th anniversary. On October 9, 1874, 22 countries gathered to sign the Treaty of Bern, creating the General Postal Union, which would later become known as the Universal Postal Union (from 1878).
150 years later, the UPU now unites the postal networks of 192 member countries, having realized its founders' vision of establishing a single postal territory to serve people everywhere.
The UPU's theme for its 150th year, "150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations", recognizes this accomplishment, and reinforces its commitment to serve peoples for the decades and centuries to come.
Throughout 2024, the UPU will roll out a series of events and campaigns in celebration of its rich past, dedicated present and promising future, in particular using the hashtag #UPU150 on social media.  

Le 30 mai 2024, l'administration postale des Nations Unies (APNU) a mis en circulation 3 timbres (1 pour chaque bureau, New York, Genève et Vienne) consacrés à ce 150ème anniversaire de l'UPU.
Ces 3 timbres (conception : Sergio Baradat), imprimés chacun en feuille de 9 timbres (tirage : 11000 feuilles pour chaque bureau), illustrent différents moyens utilisés pour transporter le courrier (sur fond de globe terrestre), comme un facteur sur le timbre (1,20 CHF) émis pour le bureau de Genève.
Ce timbre (avec une partie de la marge supérieure de la feuille) a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 26 juin 2024 depuis Genève.
Le 2ème timbre (1,50 CHF + 0,50 CHF) fait partie d'une série (3 timbres + 3 blocs-feuillets) émise le 21 septembre 2021 à l'occasion de la Journée internationale de la paix. Cette série, illustrant différents portraits de John Lennon (gravé par Martin Mörck à partir d'une photographie de Iain MacMillan ici), est en particulier consacrée au 50ème anniversaire de la sortie de la célèbre chanson "Imagine", co-écrite avec son épouse, Yoko Ono.
Cet hymne, pacifiste et utopique, invite l'auditeur à imaginer un monde sans frontières, sans pays, sans religions, sans raisons de tuer ou de mourir pour une cause, sans possessions, et au sein d'une grande fraternité humaine.
A noter également sur cette enveloppe l'application d'un cachet spécial de l'APNU mis en circulation à l'occasion de l'exposition philatélique ParisPhilex organisée à Paris du 30 mai au 1er juin 2024. 
On May 30, 2024, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) put into circulation 3 stamps (one for each office, New York, Geneva and Vienna) dedicated to this 150th anniversary of the UPU.
These 3 stamps (design: Sergio Baradat), each printed in a sheetlet of 9 stamps (print run: 11,000 sheetlets for each office), illustrate different means used to transport mail (on a globe background), such as a postman on the stamp (CHF 1.20) issued for the Geneva office.
This stamp (with part of the upper margin of the sheetlet) was used on the cover above sent on June 26, 2024 from Geneva.
The 2nd stamp (CHF 1.50 + CHF 0.50) is part of a series (3 stamps + 3 souvenir sheets) issued on September 21, 2021 on the occasion of the International Day of Peace. This series, illustrating different portraits of John Lennon (engraved by Martin Mörck from a photograph by Iain MacMillan here), is particularly dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the release of the famous song "Imagine", co-written with his wife, Yoko Ono.
