EUROPA 2026 (70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps) stamp set on cover from Kosovo

The year 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps, a philatelic initiative launched to strengthen relations between European countries and promote lasting peace and unity.
First issued in 1956 by six nations – Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, founding members of the European Union – this program has gradually expanded to include 53 participating postal organizations.
Last year, PostEurop's Stamps and Philately Working Group organized an internal competition to choose a common design on the theme "70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United by...".
Guided by shared values such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (BH Pošta) and the P
ost of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026.

Since 2006 (before the country had declared independence and while it was under the administration of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo), the Kosovo postal service (Posta e Kosovës) has issued stamps annually featuring the same themes as the official EUROPA series.
These stamps vary in whether they display the theme's title or the word "EUROPA" (or "EVROPA"); however, they do not include the official EUROPA logo, as Kosovo is not a member of the UPU or PostEurop, the association that manages these EUROPA issues.
On May 9, 2026 (Europe Day), two stamps and a souvenir sheet have been issued to mark this 70th anniversary of EUROPA stamps ("70-vjetori i pullës Europa").
The numbered souvenir sheet (€2.00) and the two stamps in the series (€1.00 and €2.00; print run: 4,000 each) have been used on the registered cover above, sent on July 20, 2026, from the city of Pejë in the country's northwest. Many thanks, Sabri and Fahredin!
Rather than reproducing Klaus Welp's design, the set—created by B. Ademi—offers a cohesive composition. It evokes this 70th anniversary in a symbolic and poetic way, depicting a young girl writing a letter by the roadside, followed by another girl mailing her letter in a yellow mailbox characteristic of the Kosovo postal service.

EUROPA 2025 (National Archaeological Discoveries) stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
Since 2006 (the country had not yet declared its independence and was under the administration of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo), stamps with the same theme as the official EUROPA series are put into circulation every year by the Post of Kosovo (Posta e Kosovës).
Variably, these stamps mention (or not) the wording of that theme or the mention EUROPA (or EVROPA), without including however the official EUROPA logo, Kosovo being not a member of the PostEurop association, managing these EUROPA stamps.

On May 9, 2025 (Europe Day), two stamps and one souvenir sheet have been issued, dedicated to the EUROPA 2025 theme, National Archaeological Discoveries ("Zbulimet kombëtare arkeologjike" in Albanian), specifically the archaeological site of Ulpiana.
The numbered souvenir sheet and the two stamps in this series (print run: 4,000 each) have been used on the lovely cover below, sent on June 10, 2025, from the southern city of Prizren. Thank you very much, Sabri!

Ulpiana, also known as Iustiniana Secunda, was an ancient Roman city located in present-day Kosovo, in the municipality of Gračanica, 12 km southeast of Pristina.
Iustiniana Secunda was proclaimed an archaeological park (161 hectares) under the permanent protection of Kosovo by the Kosovo Cultural Heritage Council in 2016. Ulpiana was one of the largest settlements in the Balkans during Late Antiquity.
This series shows various mosaics discovered at this site by the Franco-Kosovar archaeological mission, led on the French side by Christophe J. Goddard, in particular the dedication, by Emperor Justinian (527-565) and his wife Theodora, of an "urbs Dardaniae," a new city in the province of Dardania, his home province (€2.00 stamp). This is one of the very few Latin dedications of the imperial couple in the late Roman world.
The other stamp (€1.00) depicts a houbara bustard, a migratory bird, on the mosaic floor of the Episcopal Basilica of Iustiniana secunda (535-545 AD), discovered in 2012.
The souvenir sheet (€2.00) also features a representation of a houbara bustard, next to a fountain on the mosaic floor of the Episcopal Basilica of Iustiniana secunda.
This series was issued with the support of the Kosovo Ministry of Culture, based on photographs provided through an inter-institutional cooperation with the Archaeological Institute of Kosovo and the University of Pristina.

"Paris 2024 Olympics" stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
Following the recognition of the Kosovo National Olympic Committee by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on December 9, 2014, the country participated for the first time in its history in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016.
Kosovo was therefore participating for the third time in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, organized from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Nine athletes (2 men, 7 women) were entered in Paris, in four sports: judo, boxing, athletics, and swimming.
On July 24, 2024, the Kosovo Post released a series (1 stamp + 1 souvenir sheet) dedicated to this country's third participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games ("Lojërat Olimpike Verore – Paris 2024").
This complete set was used to stamp the lovely cover below, sent on June 10, 2025, from the southern city of Prizren. Thank you very much, Sabri!

Women's judo is once again in the spotlight in this series designed by D. Luta (print run: 3,500), the souvenir sheet (€2.00) also symbolically evoking the Olympic flame lighting ceremony on Olympia (a priestess holds the flame), which transforms into the Olympic rings.
The colors of the French flag appear in the background of this numbered souvenir sheet.
In Paris, Kosovo won two medals (silver and bronze), again in women's judo, thanks to Distria Krasniqi (Olympic champion in Tokyo) and Laura Fazliu respectively.
To note that the emblem of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo is curiously missing on these stamps (it appeared on the stamps issued in 2016 for the Rio Games...).

EUROPA 2024 (Underwater Fauna and Flora) stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
Since 2006 (the country had not yet declared its independence and was under the administration of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo), stamps with the same theme as the official EUROPA series are put into circulation every year by the Post of Kosovo (Posta e Kosovës).
Variably, these stamps mention (or not) the wording of that theme or the mention EUROPA (or EVROPA), without including however the official EUROPA logo, Kosovo being not a member of the PostEurop association, managing these EUROPA stamps.

On May 9, 2024 (Europe Day), two stamps and one souvenir sheet were issued, dedicated to the EUROPA 2024 theme, underwater fauna and flora ("fauna dhe flora nënujore" in Albanian).
The numbered souvenir sheet (print run: 4,000) as well as the two stamps of this series (print run: 4,500 each) have been used on the pretty cover below sent by registered mail on May 27, 2024 from the town of Pejë, located in the north west of the country. Thank you very much Sabri!

Unfortunately, my post office had the excellent idea of writing in black marker on the souvenir sheet...
The Republic of Kosovo has a diverse flora and is distinguished by the richest fauna on the Balkan Peninsula. Among the treasures of this biodiversity are numerous species of freshwater fish, illustrated in this series.
The souvenir sheet (€2.00) represents a fish from the carp family, a type of fish quite widespread throughout the world, originating from Asia. It is common in fresh waters of rivers and in Kosovo, especially Drini e Bardhë, Sitnica, Drenica, Morava rivers...
The €1.00 stamp is dedicated to the Ohrid gudgeon (Gobio ohridanus) and the Shkodra gudgeon (Gobio scadarensis), two fish with "vulnerable" status, endemic to Lakes Ohrid (North Macedonia and Albania) and Shkodra (Montenegro and Albania).
The €2.10 stamp depicts a Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio), a species that belongs to the family Cyprinidae, which includes carp and many other types of fish. It is an inhabitant of lakes and lower reaches of rivers.
Prussian carps are a highly invasive fish species in areas outside their native range.

"Illyrian fibulae" stamp set on cover from Kosovo

On September 14, 2023, the Kosovo Post (Posta e Kosovës) put into circulation an interesting series (4 stamps: €0.40, €0.60, €0.80, €0.90) illustrating different types of Illyrian fibulae, part I suppose of the collections of the National Museum of Kosovo in Pristina.
Created by four different designers, these four stamps (print run: 5,000), printed in the same sheetlet composed of 8 stamps (2 of each), have been used on the pretty cover below sent on November 15, 2023 from the city of Prizren, located in the south of the country. Thank you very much Sabri!

Illyrians are a group of tribes speaking Indo-European languages established during Antiquity on the northern and eastern coasts of the Adriatic, including the current territory of Kosovo.

Fibulae, brooches usually made of metal, which were used to secure the ends of a garment, were widely used by the Illyrians. Certain types of fibulae were one of the few items used by all Illyrians and some were even used to declare the distribution of Illyrian people.
Illyrians loved ornaments, and on festive occasions their women appeared heavily draped in all manner of jewelry. Several varieties of fibulae have a distinctive evolution in Illyria, notably the brooch consisting of two concentrically wound spirals attached to the pin. This type of fibula is depicted on the €0.90 stamp.
Most of the fibulae discovered in Kosovo come from the archaeological sites of Llashticë, Banja e Pejës and the Shiroka burial mounds (for example the fibula illustrated on the €0.40 stamp).

Cover from North Mitrovica (Kosovo) with stamps from Serbia

The city of Mitrovica, located in the north of Kosovo, was at the heart of the news during the Kosovo war in 1999 and then during the declaration of independence of Kosovo in February 2008, the city being crossed by the Ibar river which marks a delimitation between the two northern and southern districts, where the Serb and Albanian communities have faced each other for years.
Even today, everything separates these two parts of the city, even beyond community and religious affiliations: the functioning of the city is divided in two, to the north, the dinar currency and the Serbian language, to the south, the euro and Albanian language...

But I didn't know that letters sent from the northern part of Mitrovica could be franked with Serbian stamps, like on this example sent on February 26, 2024. Thank you very much Antea!
Antea used several recent commemorative stamps as well as regular stamps issued on April 12, 2021 (3 RSD) to accompany the Serbian government's Covid-19 vaccination campaign, with slogan "Let's bring back the hug - by vaccination to herd immunity" and July 19, 2022 (4 RSD) for a campaign on children's online safety.

The stamp at the top right (48 RSD, design: Nadežda Skočajić, print run: 25,000), issued on June 15, 2023, is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Mathematical Society of Serbia. This stamp is in particular dedicated to the Fibonacci spiral, inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, a sequence in which each number is the sum of the two preceding ones.
The stamp next to it (48 RSD, design: Miroslav Nikolić, print run: 25,000), issued on December 31, 2023, is dedicated to the famous Serbian actor Bata Živojinović (1933-2016). Star of Yugoslav cinema, he appears in numerous "Partisan films". He played one of his greatest roles in "Walter Defends Sarajevo" (1972) and "Battle of Neretva" (1969).
The 30 RSD stamp (design: Boban Savić, print run: 25,000), issued on July 7, 2022, pays tribute to Rajko Mitić (1922-2008), football player and sports journalist, first captain and first star of Red Star Belgrade. He was a member of the Yugoslav national team between 1946 and 1957 and participated in the World Cups in 1950 and 1954.
The last stamp (27 RSD, design: Boban Savić, print run: 25,000), issued on August 15, 2019, is dedicated to the Ljubičevo Equestrian Games, an equestrian tournament as well as a cultural festival organized every year since 1963 in Požarevac (north-east of the country). The Ljubičevo stud farm is the oldest equestrian facility in Serbia, as well as the only Serbian national stud farm, founded in 1858 by order of Prince Miloš Obrenović.

EUROPA 2023 (Peace) stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Since 2006 (the country had not yet declared its independence and was under the administration of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo), stamps with the same theme as the official EUROPA series are put into circulation every year by the Post of Kosovo (Posta e Kosovës).
Variably, these stamps mention (or not) the wording of that theme or the mention EUROPA (or EVROPA), without including however the official EUROPA logo, Kosovo being not a member of the PostEurop association, managing these EUROPA stamps.

On May 9, 2023 (the Europe Day), one stamp and one souvenir sheet were issued, dedicated to the theme of peace ("paqe" in Albanian), without specifically referring to "Peace - the highest value of humanity", the theme chosen for the EUROPA stamps in 2023.

The numbered souvenir sheet (€2.00) as well as the stamp (€2.00) of this series (print run: 13,000) have been used on the pretty cover above sent by registered mail on November 15, 2023 from the city of Prizren, located in the southern part of the country. Thank you very much Sabri!
The Kosovo Post did not issue a stamp reproducing the "Peace Knot" (project proposed by the Luxembourg Post), the common illustration represented on all EUROPA 2023 stamps following the organization of a contest by PostEurop.
This stamp and souvenir sheet refer to peace through a dove represented in the form of an origami, with an olive branch in the beak, with a terrestrial globe, barbed wire, the 6 stars and the blue and yellow colors present on the flag of Kosovo in the background.

"Mountain tourism" joint s/s with Kosovo, on cover from North Macedonia

On March 23, 2016, the two postal administrations of Kosovo and North Macedonia put into circulation an attractive joint souvenir sheet devoted to mountain tourism ("Планински туризъм" in Macedonian), in particular in the range of the Šar mountains ("Malet e Sharrit" in Albanian) which extends over 80 km between southern Kosovo, north-west North Macedonia and north-east Albania.
The Macedonian version of this souvenir sheet (design: L. Kufalo, print run: 8,000) was used on this cover sent on October 31, 2023 from Skopje, the capital.
North Macedonia is one of the most mountainous countries in Europe with more than 85% of its territory concerned (45% of the country's surface is at an altitude between 500 and 1000 meters above sea level).

This souvenir sheet is composed of a stamp (144 MKD) representing the mountain peak and ski resort of Popova Šapka ("Kodra e Diellit" in Albanian), located in the northwest of North Macedonia, 18 km west of the town of Tetovo, close to the border with Kosovo. The ski area starts at an altitude of 1690 meters and has a few glacial lakes.
The label is dedicated to Kosovo's main ski resort, Brezovica.
Brezovica, with a ski area of 2500 hectares (16 km of skiing paths) at an altitude of 1700-2500 meters, is the most visited winter tourist destinations in Kosovo, ideally located (60 km from Pristina airport, same distance from Skopje airport).
To note that, on the Kosovo version of this souvenir sheet, the label above is the stamp and the stamp above is the label.
The two countries (+ Albania) had already issued a joint stamp in 2010 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mother Teresa

"15th anniversary of the independence of Kosovo" s/s on cover from Albania

Kosovo's independence was proclaimed unilaterally on February 17, 2008 during a special session of parliament, which declared the new country independent of Serbia, the latter strongly opposing it.
This independence is still disputed today by Serbia which considers it as one of its provinces, and divides the international community, about 120 countries having officially recognized this independence including 22 of the 27 countries of the European Union (all except Spain, Romania, Greece, Cyprus and Slovakia).
For 15 years, the country has become a member of most of the major world sports organizations but remains to this day not a member of the main international institutions (UN, UNESCO...), China and Russia in particular, permanent members of the UN Security Council, not recognizing this independence.
It should also be noted that about twenty countries (mainly in Africa and Oceania) which had recognized this independence at first, have since reconsidered this decision...

On February 17, 2023, the Post of Kosovo put into circulation a stamp (€2.10) dedicated to the 15th anniversary of this independence. This stamp features the words "15 vjet shtet, për jete" ("15 years of state, for life") in Albanian as well as a logo consisting of the stylized number 15, including the blue and gold colors of the flag of Kosovo and the red and black colors of the flag of Albania, the "brother" country. I guess the color green refers to hope or freedom.
On April 27, 2023, the Albanian Post put into circulation a souvenir sheet (2 stamps, unknown print run) also dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the independence of Kosovo, including one (200 lekë) reproducing the same logo.
This numbered souvenir sheet was used on this cover sent by registered mail on June 12, 2023 from Tirana. Thank you very much Sabri!
The 2nd stamp (250 lekë) is dedicated to the memorial (built between 2012 and 2015) paying tribute to the 114 martyrs who died during the Battle of Košare, during the Kosovo War.
The Battle of Košare began on April 9, 1999 under the command of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK) with the support of the Albanian Army. In this battle, the Yugoslav army lost control of the border between Kosovo and Albania, which was a major victory for the UCK, forcing Serbian soldiers to leave the border and allowing safe passage of weapons and volunteers from Albania to Kosovo.
The Battle of Košare ended on June 10, 1999, when the Kumanova Agreement ending the Kosovo War was signed.

"From our heritage - Xhubleta" stamp on cover from Kosovo

"Xhubleta, skills, craftsmanship and forms of usage" was inscribed in 2022 by UNESCO on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, following a project supported by the Albanian government.
The List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding is an international safeguarding measure for Intangible Cultural Heritage that is included in the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage adopted by UNESCO in 2003.
Xhubleta is a traditional costume, consisting of a wide bell-shaped skirt, a bodice, sleeves and straps, very old, worn by women and girls who live in the mountainous regions of northern Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
On December 28, 2022, the Post of Kosovo (Posta e Kosovës) put into circulation a stamp "From our heritage" ("Nga Trashëgimia") dedicated to this traditional feminine outfit.

This stamp (€2.00, print run: 7,000), designed from a photograph by A. Spahiu and printed in a sheetlet of 4 stamps, was used on the above cover sent on April 7, 2023 from the city of Prizren, located in the south of the country. Thank you very much Sabri!
Predominantly black with colourful embroidered motifs, the crafting process entails preparing the shajak (woven felt), cutting, sewing and embroidering symbolic figures.
Xhubleta was once used in everyday life from the age of puberty, indicating the wearer's social and economic status. However, its use and production has been decreasing over the past decades due to socio-political and economic reasons. The new policies set by the socialist system in the 1960s altered traditional cultural patterns, bringing changes to the daily lives of the mountain communities and the use and production of Xhubleta.
As women had to work in the agricultural socialist cooperatives, Xhubleta was no longer practical for everyday life. Furthermore, state collectivization led to a lack of raw materials for its production.

Today, few women possess the knowledge of the entire process, and traditional family-based transmission is rare. Nevertheless, the garment has maintained its social and spiritual significance and is still considered an integral part of the identity of mountain communities.

"Winter Olympics - Beijing 2022" stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Following the recognition of the National Olympic Committee of Kosovo by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on December 9, 2014, this country participated for the first time in its history in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and then in the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang in 2018.
Kosovo therefore participated for the second time in its history in the Winter Olympics in 2022, organized from February 4 to 20 in Beijing, China.
In Beijing, the Kosovo delegation was made up of only 2 athletes, a woman (Kiana Kryeziu) and a man (Albin Tahiri), engaged only in alpine skiing events.
Contrary to the Summer Olympics (Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021) where Kosovo won 3 gold medals (in women's judo), Kosovo has yet to win a medal at the Winter Olympics.

For the first time, Kosovo Post has dedicated a series (2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) to the Winter Olympic Games, those of Beijing 2022, put into circulation on February 17, 2022.
This complete series was used to stamp the pretty cover above sent by registered mail on August 9, 2022 from the city of Prizren, located in the south of the country. Thank you very much Sabri!
Parts of the official logo of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games appear in the background on the two stamps and the souvenir sheet of this series (print run: 7,000) designed by B. Alili and D. Luta.
An alpine skier is featured on the first stamp (€1.00) while several disciplines appear on the second stamp (€2.10): ski jumping, figure skating, speed skating, alpine skiing.

EUROPA 2022 (Stories and Myths) stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
Since 2006 (the country had not yet declared its independence and was under the administration of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo), stamps with the same theme as the official EUROPA series are put into circulation every year by the Post of Kosovo (Posta e Kosovës).
Variably, these stamps mention (or not) the wording of that theme or the mention EUROPA (or EVROPA), without including however the official EUROPA logo, Kosovo being not a member of the PostEurop association, managing these EUROPA stamps.

On May 9, 2022 (the Europe Day), 2 stamps and 1 souvenir sheet were issued, dedicated to the EUROPA 2022 theme, Stories and myths ("Tregime dhe mite" in Albanian).
The numbered souvenir sheet (€ 2.00) as well as the two stamps of this series (print run: 13,000 each) are present on the great cover below sent by registered mail on August 9, 2022 from the city of Prizren, located in the south of the country. Thank you very much Sabri!

The stamp on the left (€1.00) is dedicated to the legend of Rozafa Castle, located near the city of Shkodër, in northwestern Albania. This story evokes three brothers who experienced difficulties during the construction of the castle. To overcome this problem, the religious advised them to make a human sacrifice. The brothers conferred and chose to sacrifice Rozafa, the wife of the youngest among them.
Her body was to be buried within the castle walls. Rozafa, having given birth to a child, begged to be walled in alive leaving her right breast exposed so she could breastfeed her baby, her right hand to caress him, her right foot to rock him and her right eye to keep an eye on him.
The other stamp (€2.00) is devoted to Gogomeli, the name given to the scarecrow placed in gardens and fields to have good harvests. He is also called the Old Man of the Garden, the Old Woman of the Garden, the Bride of the Garden...
The souvenir sheet evokes a legend telling the story of this old woman, believing winter was over, who ventured into the mountains with her cattle and froze completely. So, from that ancient time, water still flows from a rock in the form of an old woman, which is said to be the "old woman's tears".

"Tokyo 2020 Olympics" stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
Following the recognition of the National Olympic Committee of Kosovo by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on December 9, 2014, this country participated for the first time in its history in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
Kosovo was therefore taking part in the Olympic Games for the second time in 2021, in Tokyo, after a one-year postponement due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
11 athletes (5 men, 6 women) were engaged in Tokyo, in 6 sports: judo, boxing, athletics, freestyle wrestling, shooting and swimming.
On July 20, 2021, the Kosovo Post put into circulation a series (2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) dedicated to this 2nd participation of the country in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games ("Lojërat Olimpike Tokyo 2020").
This complete series was used to stamp the pretty letter below sent by registered mail on August 9, 2022 from the city of Prizren, located in the south of the country. Thank you very much Sabri!

The two stamps of this series (€1.00 and €2.10 - print run: 7,000), designed by H. Ademi in collaboration with the Olympic Committee of Kosovo, printed in the same sheetlet composed of 6 stamps (3 of each) represent Kosovo athletes in judo (we recognize Majlinda Kelmendi, Olympic champion in Rio) and athletics (we recognize Musa Hajdari, 800 meters specialist).
The numbered souvenir sheet (€2.00) is devoted to wrestling, with the presence of a red disc symbolizing Japan and, unless I am mistaken, the silhouette of the Rainbow Bridge (completed in 1993 above the bay of Tolyo) in the left margin.
In Tokyo, Kosovo won the 2nd and 3rd Olympic gold medal in its history, again in women's judo, thanks to Distria Krasniqi and Nora Gjakova.
To note that the emblem of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo is curiously missing on these stamps (it appeared on the stamps issued in 2016 for the Rio Games...).

Cover from North Mitrovica (Kosovo) with stamps (museums, tourism, Covid-19) from Serbia...

But I didn't know that letters sent from the northern part of Mitrovica could be franked with Serbian stamps, such as on this example sent on February 21, 2022. Thank you very much Antea!
The two 30-dinar stamps are part of a series issued on November 24, 2021, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Belgrade Museum of Pedagogy and the National Museum of Požarevac.

These 2 stamps (print run: 25,000 each), designed by Anamari Banjac, were each printed in a sheetlet consisting of 10 stamps + 5 central labels as in the examples above, with a bas-relief representing Dimitrije Putniković (1859-1910), president of the teachers' association and first director of this Belgrade Museum of Pedagogy in 1896. Since the 1960s, this museum has been housed in the building of the former Real high school in Belgrade (Realka).
The other stamp in this series is dedicated to the National Museum of Požarevac, a town in the north-east of the country, with a label showing a chrism engraved on a stone (4th century), discovered at the archaeological site of Viminacium. Viminacium, which was one of the most important towns in the province of Moesia under the Roman Empire, is the site where the first archaeological excavations in Serbia took place in 1882.
The lower right stamp (23 dinars), issued on August 20, 2018, commemorates 125 years of tourism in Zlatibor, a mid-mountain resort (1000 meters in altitude) located in western central Serbia, which became famous in 1893 when King Alexander I stayed there and, charmed by the beauty of the place, had a commemorative fountain built there. This royal stay inaugurated a craze for the resort and the surrounding mountains.
Antea finally used a small regular stamp (3 dinars), issued on April 12, 2021 to accompany the Serbian government's Covid-19 vaccination campaign, with the slogan "Let's bring back the hug - by vaccination to herd immunity".

"Monastery of the Holy Archangels in Prizren" stamp on cover from Kosovo

A big thank you Sabri for this interesting letter sent on June 7, 2021 from the city of Prizren, located in the south of Kosovo, franked with a stamp in direct connection with this locality!
This stamp (€ 1.80, print run: 7,000), designed by D. Luta and issued on December 10, 2020, is indeed dedicated to architectural heritage and in particular to the Monastery of the Holy Archangels ("Manastiri i Kryeengjëjve") located in close to this town of Prizren.
This stamp shows more precisely a reconstitution of this Serbian Orthodox monastery, founded in 1343 by the king of Serbia Stefan Uroš IV Dušan, on the site of an older church which was part of the fortress of Višegrad.

The monastic complex included two churches, one dedicated to the Holy Archangels, where the king's tomb was located, the other one dedicated to Saint Nicholas. The monastery was looted after the arrival of the Ottomans in 1455, and in 1615 it was completely razed and its stones used for the construction of the Sinan Pasha Mosque in Prizren.
Excavations took place on this site from 1927 and reconstruction work began in 1998 when a community of monks settled there again.
In June 1999, after Operation Allied Force and the withdrawal of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia's army, the reconstructed buildings were looted and set on fire by members of the Kosovo Liberation Army. During the 2004 riots in Kosovo, the monastery was again looted and set on fire ...
To note that this site, although located in Kosovo (whose independence is not recognized by Serbia), appears on the list of cultural monuments of exceptional importance of the Republic of Serbia.

Flowers and 1981 protests 40th anniversary stamps on cover from Kosovo

Thank you very much Sabri for this nice cover sent on June 7, 2021 from the city of Prizren, located in the south of Kosovo!
The three stamps on the left (€ 0.10, € 0.15, € 0.20) are definitive stamps (design: Hyrije Ademi) put into circulation on November 28, 2020, dedicated to flowers, pansies, roses and chrysanthemums (?).
The other stamp (€ 1.80), designed by L. Ademi, issued on March 11, 2021, is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the 1981 demonstrations in Kosovo ("40 vjetori i Demonstratave të vitit 1981").

In March and April 1981, a student demonstration in Pristina, the capital of the former Socialist Autonomous Province of Kosovo, led to widespread protests from the Kosovo Albanian community, demanding more autonomy within the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
The Presidency of Yugoslavia then declared a state of emergency in Pristina which led to riots. The unrest was put down by a major intervention of the police which made many victims (about ten dead on the Albanian side), and a period of political repression followed (several thousand people imprisoned) ...
These protests in Kosovo were the start of a deep crisis in Yugoslavia which then led to its dissolution.
To note this slogan (in English) on a sign featured on this stamp: "Never give up! We are the real power".
