Sepac 2024 (Main tourist attractions) stamp on FDC from Gibraltar

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (15 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (9 in 2024, all except Guernsey, Vatican City and Isle of Man) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
Gibraltar's postal administration has participated in these SEPAC issues since 2007 (except in 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023) and, on June 25, 2024, released its 11th SEPAC stamp, featuring the theme of main tourist attractions.
This £1.00 stamp—the only one to include the SEPAC logo—is part of a six-stamp series (designed by Stephen Perera based on illustrations by Jonathan Pointer) that was also printed (by Cartor Security Printers in France) as a miniature sheet.

This is the miniature sheet featured on the official First Day Cover above, bearing a special postmark depicting a dolphin—a design that ties in with the theme of the Sepac stamp located in the middle right.
This Sepac stamp is indeed dedicated to dolphin watching in Gibraltar. The waters surrounding Gibraltar have long been home to diverse marine life, including various species of dolphins.
The Strait of Gibraltar serves as a crucial migratory route for these majestic creatures, drawn by the rich abundance of fish and favourable currents. While modern dolphin-watching tours offer visitors the chance to witness these marine marvels up close, they also reflect Gibraltar's longstanding relationship with the sea and its commitment to sustainable tourism practices.
The illustration on the envelope is inspired by the first stamp in the series (£0.30), which features Commonwealth Park. Opened in 2014, this park offers an oasis of tranquility amidst Gibraltar's urban landscape.
The other four stamps in the series depict major Gibraltar landmarks: the Barbary macaques (£0.60), the Moorish Castle (£0.90), Catalan Bay Beach (£1.15), and the Skywalk (£4.00).

Sepac 2024 (Main tourist attractions) stamp on FDC from Faroe Islands

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (
9 in 2024, all except Guernsey, Vatican City and Isle of Man) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
The Faroe Islands Postal Administration (Posta) has participated in these Sepac issues since 2007 and issued its 15th Sepac stamp on May 27, 2024. This year's theme was Main tourist attractions.
This stamp (33 DKK), printed in France by Cartor, is based on a photograph by Marylee Burman, showing the impressive Fossá waterfall. It is present on the official FDC below, along with a cancellation from Tórshavn, the capital of this autonomous archipelago, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

In broad terms, one could describe the topography of the Faroe Islands as featuring mountainous terrain and valleys of differing depths and elevations. These mountainsides are steep, marked by horizontal rock ledges, and crisscrossed by more or less vertical stripes created by streams and gradually widening as they descend towards the coastline.
The steep rock ledges give rise to numerous expansive waterfalls, scattered throughout the islands in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some of these waterfalls are particularly awe-inspiring when they cascade down their rocky precipices.
The largest and most impressive waterfall is Fossá, located to the south of Haldarsvík village in the northern region of Streymoy. Originating from Lake Víkarvatn, nestled in a mountain valley between the peaks of Vatnfelli and Gásafelli, this river descends through Fossdalur. Along its course, it merges with other streams until it reaches a dramatic culmination point. Here, it plunges from a towering rock precipice, approximately 140 meters above sea level.
During dry spells, the waterfall can span just a few meters in width. However, when the rains arrive, it truly shines, expanding to more than 30 meters in width on its uppermost two-tiered segment (as depicted on the envelope). The contrasting black basalt backdrop adds an extra layer of drama to the brilliant white foam.

Sepac 2023 (Traditional markets) stamp on FDC from Faroe Islands

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (
9 in 2023, all except Gibraltar, Vatican City and Isle of Man) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
The Faroe Islands Postal Administration (Posta) has participated in these Sepac issues since 2007 and issued its 14th Sepac stamp on August 11, 2023. This year's theme was traditional markets.
This stamp (31 DKK), printed in France by Cartor, is based on a photograph (author: Gjertrud M. Gravesen) from the collections of the National Museum of the Faroe Islands, showing a fish sale in the port area of Vágsbotnur (Tórshavn). It is present on the official FDC below, along with a cancellation from Tórshavn, the capital of this autonomous archipelago, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

In an archipelago like the Faroe Islands, it wasn't easy to get around on foot or by boat. At first glance, local markets seemed rather out of place.
However, in the Faroe Islands, it was crucial to have a substantial food supply in one's pantry, called a hjallur. On farms, products were made from sheep, cattle, seabirds, whales, and fish. These food products were fermented or dried.
The closest thing to a "market" here was the sole trade in the Faroe Islands in ancient times: the Monopolhandelen (monopoly trade) of Tórshavn, which existed until 1856.
It was also common for boats from settlements in the strait between Streymoy and Eysturoy to arrive with blue mussels, which were sold in Tórshavn. When whaling ships in the Faroes started catching large whales around the turn of the 20th century, boats were commonly sent from the whaling stations with whale meat for sale, not only in Tórshavn but also in other settlements.
This was in line with the fact that people in Tórshavn used to buy fish directly from fishing boats arriving from fishing grounds. This tradition has been preserved in Tórshavn. In the very busy port area of Vágsbotnur, Tórshavn Municipality has set up a small roofed-over marketplace where you can buy fish and fish products, and also, on special days, locally grown vegetables and other home-made products of various kinds.

Sepac 2025 (Architecture) stamp on FDC from Luxembourg

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (10 in 2025, all except the Isle of Man and Vatican City) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has participated in these Sepac issues since 2009 and issued its 15th Sepac stamp on September 19, 2025, illustrating the theme of architectural history.
This stamp (€1.70, print run: 30,000), designed by Reza Kianpour and dedicated to the Luxembourg's Hôtel des Postes, is present on the official first day cover below.
This stamp shows the facade of this remarkable building through one of the ground floor windows.

The Hôtel des Postes served as the head office of POST Luxembourg for over a hundred years - until 2017 - and is currently being converted into a hotel.
After the Prussian garrison left the city, the post office initially moved into their former barracks at beim Piquet in 1869. However, the building soon proved inadequate for its purpose. A new post office - today's Hôtel des Postes - was therefore erected between 1908 and 1910, based on the plans of architect Sosthène Weis.
Located on a newly chosen site on Rue Aldringen, the building soon became one of the city's landmarks and housed Luxembourg's main post office until 2017.
The Hôtel des Postes is an exceptional example of French Neo-Renaissance architecture in Luxembourg. It combines modern construction technology with traditional stone facing, with stone from Luxembourg quarries used for the visible parts of the building. With its harmonious proportions, the majestic yet unpretentious facade is decorated with sculptural ornaments and figurative elements. Renowned Luxembourg sculptors Pierre Federspiel, Jean Mich, Claus Cito and Jean-Baptiste Wercollier were commissioned to design them.

The Hôtel des Postes has been a listed building since 2018 and is located in an area protected by UNESCO. The current renovation highlights the artistic and architectural qualities of the building.

Sepac 2022 (local beverages) stamp on FDC from Faroe Islands

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (
9 in 2022, all except Gibraltar, Vatican City and Isle of Man) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
The Faroe Islands Postal Administration (Posta) has participated in these Sepac issues since 2007 and issued its 13th Sepac stamp on May 16, 2022. This year's theme was local beverages.
This stamp (29 DKK), printed in Belgium by Bpost, was designed by Anker Eli Petersen and features the Föroya Bjór brewery. It appears on the official first day cover below, along with a cancellation from Klaksvík, the second largest town in this autonomous archipelago, part of the Kingdom of Denmark, located on the island of Borðoy.

In the Faroe Islands, the Föroya Bjór brewery has been supplying the population with beverages for nearly 150 years, namely a full range of beers, soft drinks, and, more recently, more hard hitting drinks.
In 1883, Simon Frederik Hansen, known as Símun í Vági, went to Denmark to learn the baker's trade. At the same time, he learned the art of brewing beer. Returning to the Faroe Islands in 1888, Símun í Vági established his own bakery and, in the same year, began brewing beer in the cellar of his home in Klaksvík, marking the beginning of Föroya Bjór, which, over time, became the archipelago's leading brewery.
Símun í Vági himself designed the iconic Föroya Bjór logo, the ram that is reproduced on the stamp and the cancellation.
Föroya Bjór now accounts for 65% of beer sales and 45% of soft drink sales and has been exporting to Iceland for several years, where it holds a significant market share. The Danish market is growing year after year, and the brand is now beginning to penetrate the Norwegian market.
This local and international success is well-deserved. Föroya Bjór beers are internationally renowned and have won several international awards thanks to their excellent quality and the incomparable quality of Faroese water.
For several years now, the company has also been producing distilled alcoholic beverages under the producer brand Einar's Distillery.

Sepac 2025 (Architecture) stamp on FDC from Faroe Islands

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (10 in 2025, all except the Isle of Man and Vatican City) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.

The Faroe Islands Postal Administration (Posta) has participated in these Sepac issues since 2007 and, on May 26, 2025, issued its 16th Sepac stamp, this year's theme being architecture.
This stamp (35 DKK), printed in Belgium by Bpost, designed from a photograph by Nic Lehoux showing the town hall of the municipality of Eystur, is present on the official FDC below, along with a cancellation from Tórshavn, the capital of this autonomous archipelago, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

The Eystur town hall (Eysturoy Island) was inaugurated in December 2017 and has won several international awards, including the 2018 Global Architecture & Design Award (GADA). The jury called the town hall "a truly unique building" and awarded it first prize in the Public Buildings category.
The town hall was designed by Ósbjørn Jacobsen Arkitektar (Henning Larsen Architects), who also designed the Harpa Concert and Opera Center in Reykjavík, Iceland.
The building is positioned like a bridge over the Eiðisá River, and its roof forms a pedestrian path connecting the public recreation areas on either side of the river.
The building is inspired by nature and the surrounding terrain, taking shape as a raised, grass-covered hill, blurring the boundary between nature and architecture with characteristics reminiscent of traditional Faroese building techniques.
Beneath the building, directly above the river, lights illuminate the water, casting reflections up under the structure and through a glass opening in the council chamber floor.

Sepac 2025 (Architecture) stamp on FDC from Jersey

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (10 in 2025, all except the Isle of Man and Vatican City) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.

Jersey, part of the Channel Islands archipelago (a British dependency) located in the English Channel off the coast of France, released a Sepac stamp (£3.00) on March 27, 2025, illustrating the theme of architectural history.
This stamp, the only one featuring the Sepac logo, is part of a series (8 stamps) depicting some of the island's oldest buildings in a beautiful watercolor style.
These eight stamps, designed by British artist Jenny Costello, were also printed (by Bpost) in a single sheetlet, featured on the official FDC below.
Each of the eight buildings offers an insight into the island’s past, from the boom of the milling industry that led to various mill houses (two of which are depicted on this set) to the construction of traditional barracks following a threat of invasion after the Battle of Jersey in 1781.

The Sepac stamp depicts "16 New Street" in Saint Helier, an elegant building constructed around 1730. The property reflects the evolution of architectural style from French to English. "16 New Street" is a perfect illustration of the functional style of the island of Jersey, with its classical Georgian architecture, whitewashed walls, and symmetrical design.
Morel Farm (£0.80) is a 17th-century farmhouse that has undergone several alterations over the years. Built from pink granite quarried at Mount Mado, it features a magnificent double roadside archway and a cobbled courtyard unique to Jersey.
Grève de Lecq Barracks (£1.20) was built between 1810 and 1815 from granite and features slate roofs in the traditional military style. It served as officers' quarters until the early 20th century, following concerns about French invasions after the Battle of Jersey in 1781.
"Foot Buildings" (£1.35) consists of three modest buildings that reflect the 18th-century townscape. Moreover, thanks to later work on the buildings, it showcases the urban architectural style of the early 19th century.
The Moulin de Quétivel (£1.90) is the earliest recorded watermill on the island. Built in 1309, Crown property, in the Saint-Pierre Valley, it was powered by water from the mill pond to produce various products, such as flour, malt, and metalwork.
The Hamptonne Country Life Museum (£2.30) was built between the 14th and 15th centuries. A rare example of an early Jersey farmhouse, the property boasts one of only two fully capitaled roofs on the island, indicating that it was originally an open hall.
Le Moulin de Lecq (£3.90) was built in the 12th century and boasts the largest waterwheel on the island. The mill has had several owners, resulting in architectural modifications that have survived through the various phases of its history, including the remains of a chimney dating from around 1600.
The Elms (£4.85) is a farm complex believed to have been built in 1740. The architectural choices reflect the influence of the British Isles between the 18th and 19th centuries, notably the choice of "pea green" paint, which was very popular in the Georgian era.

Sepac 2025 (Architecture) stamp on FDC from Monaco

Following the main tourist attractions in 2024, the theme chosen for the Sepac stamps in 2025 is entitled "Architecture". Unless I am mistaken, 10 of the 12 European postal administrations (all except the Isle of Man and Vatican City) that are members of the Sepac (Small European Postal Administration Cooperation) association have already issued a Sepac stamp this year.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.

The Principality of Monaco has participated in these Sepac issues since 2007 and, on July 9, 2025, issued its 16th Sepac stamp illustrating this architectural theme, particularly the Monaco Cathedral.
This stamp (€2.10, print run: 40,000, design: Thierry Mordant), featuring the Sepac logo in the upper right corner and printed by Philaposte in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, is present on the official FDC below, with an illustration showing the Monte-Carlo Opera House.

This stamp specifically commemorates the 150th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate of Monaco, built in the Romano-Byzantine style between 1875 and 1903 (architect: Charles Lenormand) and consecrated in 1911.
For over a century, this building has been an important element of Monegasque identity, symbolizing a strong attachment to the country's roots and Christian faith (Catholicism is the state religion).
This cathedral (72 meters long, 22 meters wide, and 18 meters high) was built of white stone from La Turbie during the reign of Prince Charles III, on the site of the former Church of Saint Nicholas.

Charles III, like his successors (including Albert I and Rainier III, and his wife Grace Kelly), is buried in this cathedral.

Sepac 2025 (Architecture) stamp on FDC from Greenland

Following the main tourist attractions in 2024, the theme chosen for the Sepac stamps in 2025 is entitled "Architecture". Unless I am mistaken, 10 of the 12 European postal administrations (all except the Isle of Man and Vatican City) that are members of the Sepac (Small European Postal Administration Cooperation) association have already issued a Sepac stamp this year.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
Greenland has participated in these Sepac issues since 2007 and, on May 26, 2025, issued its 16th Sepac stamp, illustrating this theme of architecture.
This lovely stamp (28 DKK), designed by artist and architect Naja Rosing-Asvid (her 21st stamp created for Greenland Post), is present on the official FDC below with postmarks from Sisimiut, a town located on the west-central coast of Greenland.

This stamp is dedicated to the Ilulissat Icefjord Center, inaugurated in 2021, a cultural center as well as an architectural masterpiece.
Located on the west coast of Greenland, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, the Ilulissat Icefjord, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2004, is the sea mouth of Sermeq Kujalleq, one of the few glaciers through which the Greenland ice cap reaches the sea.
This center brilliantly combines modern design with respect for the surrounding nature. Inspired by the dynamism of the icefjord, its elegant yet organic form makes it a monument of contemporary Greenlandic architecture. Architect Dorthe Mandrup designed the Icefjord Center with the greatest respect for the surrounding nature.
The building's frame is covered with a gently sloping curved sidewalk. This roof terrace offers visitors the opportunity to rise up to admire the magnificent landscape.

Sepac 2024 (Main tourist attractions) stamp on FDC from Jersey

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (9 in 2024, all except the Isle of Man, Guernsey and Vatican City) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
Jersey, part of the Channel Islands archipelago (a British dependency) located in the English Channel off the coast of France, put into circulation, on April 24, 2024, a Sepac stamp (£2.95) illustrating the theme of "Main Tourist Attractions".
This stamp is part of a series (5 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) dedicated to the La Corbière lighthouse, marking its 150th anniversary. The five stamps in this series (illustrated by Martin Mörck), including the Sepac stamp, are present on the official FDC below.

For 150 years, La Corbière Lighthouse has served as a landmark guiding mariners through the treacherous waters off Jersey's southwest coast, en route to and from France, Great Britain, and Guernsey, as well as to the port of Saint Helier. For many years, a commonly used Jersey maritime expression has emphasized the comfort the lighthouse provides: "we've passed La Corbière, the worst is over".
The petition for the lighthouse's construction originally came from steamship and sailing ship captains. In April 1865, they wrote to the Piers and Harbour Department, emphasizing the need to build a lighthouse on the rocks of La Corbière, as fleets were exposed to the greatest dangers near the island at night due to the lack of guiding lights.
In March 1873, civil engineer Sir John Coode produced a document entitled "La Corbière Lighthouse Jersey Specifications". This document outlined the structure as it still exists today. The topographical survey for the La Corbière Lighthouse works was completed in 1873, and the masonry of the lighthouse and the mid-rise causeway was completed in November of the same year. Details of the layout were included in the work "Construction of La Corbière Lighthouse and the St Holier's Harbour" by Imrie Bello, Chief Engineer of the States of Jersey.

The construction of the lighthouse was a monumental achievement, but it faced many challenges. In April 1874, the lighthouse was exposed for its first test run. Today, 150 years after its lighting, the lighthouse tower stands 19 meters high and the lamp 38 meters above the high water mark during spring tides.
It was the first lighthouse in the British Isles to be built of concrete. The beam, automated in 1976, can reach an impressive range of 33 km.
La Corbière Lighthouse has become one of Jersey's most photographed landmarks and a popular tourist attraction, renowned for its panoramic views. In the evening, the surrounding area offers an ideal vantage point for breathtaking sunsets.
The souvenir sheet from this series (£5) is also present on the official FDC above. It depicts an illustration of the lighthouse seen above the water at high tide with a ship under full sail in the foreground and a glow-in-the-dark UV spot ink over the light beam.

Sepac 2025 (Architecture) stamp on FDC from Liechtenstein

Merci beaucoup Jens !
As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (10 in 2025 a priori, all except the Isle of Man and Vatican City) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.

The Principality of Liechtenstein has been participating in these Sepac issues since 2007 and issued its 16th Sepac stamp on June 2, 2025, this year's theme being architecture.
This rather nice stamp (CHF 1.90, unknown print run), depicting the Hagenhaus, was used on the cover below, sent on the First Day of Issue from Nendeln, the hamlet where this historic building is located. Thank you very much, Jens!

Designed by Armin Hoop and printed by Gutenberg AG (Schaan) in a sheetlet of 9 stamps, this stamp (with the Sepac logo at the top right) depicts the imposing facade of this Hagenhaus farmhouse ("Hofstätte Hagenhaus").
The Hagenhaus is a 19th-century farmhouse, listed as a historic monument since 1988, and is arguably the best preserved farmstead in Liechtenstein from the first half of the 19th century.

Where it now stands prominently on one of the busiest roads in the Principality, the Hagenhaus was part of the historic Lindau - Milan postal route in the 19th century.
The Hagenhaus was built in 1837 by the Vaduz master builder Joseph Anton Seger and was used by two families as a combined residential and commercial building with adjoining agricultural outbuildings.
From 1864 it housed the first K&K ("Kaiserlich & Königlich" - "Imperial & Royal") post office in the Liechtenstein Unterland. The owner was Josef Alois Schlegel, who also acted as postmaster himself. The post office existed until 1912.

Since spring 2024, this building has housed the Academy of Music in Liechtenstein.

Sepac 2021 (historical maps) souvenir sheet on FDC from Faroe Islands

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (10 in 2021, all except the Isle of Man and Vatican City) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
The Faroe Islands Postal Administration (Posta) has been participating in these Sepac issues since 2007 and, on April 26, 2021, issued its 12th Sepac stamp, this year's theme being "historical maps".
This stamp (27 DKK, design: Kim Simonsen), printed (in France by Cartor) as a souvenir sheet, reproducing part of Sebastian Münster's 1578 map "Septentrionales regiones", is present on the official FDC below, along with the cancellation from Tórshavn, the capital of this autonomous archipelago, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

To note that the Sepac logo is not present on the stamp, but only in the lower right margin...
The German geographer and cartographer Sebastian Münster (1488-1552) was a well-known figure in 16th-century intellectual life, especially for his work "Cosmographia Universalis", first published in 1544 and featuring maps of all continents.
The map reproduced on this souvenir sheet is titled "Gemeine beschreibung aller Mittnächtigen Länder / Schweden / Gothen / Nordwegien / Deñmarck / rc". It was published in 1578 and reissued unchanged under the name "Septentrionales regiones".
It shows the Faroe Islands in the center, Scotland to the south, Iceland to the north, and the coasts of Norway and Denmark to the east.
In the 16th century, worldviews were revolutionized by great explorers such as Christopher Columbus, Vasco da Gama, Vespucci, Magellan, and others. Their discoveries were subsequently depicted on maps. The knowledge Münster acquired and relied on came primarily from written sources. Münster also drew inspiration from Jacob Ziegler (circa 1470/71-1549) and his 1532 book on the Scandinavian countries.
At that time, the Scandinavian countries were considered a dark part of the world, a place where evil and death reigned. Iceland was often depicted as the gateway to hell.
Sebastian Münster is also known for his marine animals depicted in Cosmographia Universalis, such as this creature depicted on the envelope. These real or imaginary creatures were inspired by the Swedish scholar Olaus Magnus and his 1539 Carta Marina map.

Sepac 2023 (Traditional Markets) stamp on FDC from Guernsey

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (9 in 2023, all except Gibraltar, Vatican City and Isle of Man) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.

Guernsey, part of the Channel Islands archipelago (British dependency) located in the English Channel off the coast of France, has participated in these Sepac issues since the beginning in 2007 (landscapes) and issued its 14th Sepac stamp, on July 19, 2023, illustrating that year the theme of traditional markets

This Sepac stamp (£2.42) is part of a set of four stamps (each printed by Bpost in a sheet of ten) depicting various types of markets popular on this island of Guernsey.
Designed by Chris Griffiths, this complete set is featured on the official FDC above.
The Sepac stamp (the Sepac logo is reproduced below left) is dedicated to the Old fish market, which played an important role in the island's history: fishermen brought their silver-skinned catch of the day to sell to locals and visitors alike. This market operated in a covered market hall but was closed when the Market Halls were renovated in the early 2000s.
The other three stamps in this series show the Normandy Market (£0.56), where French traders come several times a year to sell their wares, on North Beach, the Lé Viaër Marchi Market or Old Market in Saumarez Park (£0.87), known for its craftsmen dressed in traditional costumes, and the Market Square, which hosts the Fresh Friday Market (£3.85), which is full of local and fresh produce, street food, and crafts.

"Maltex 2025 Philatelic Exhibition" postmark on cover (Sepac 2024 stamp) from Malta

After a six-year hiatus (the 20th edition of Maltex was held in 2019), the Maltex 2025 philatelic exhibition took place this year, from March 14 to 18, 2025, at the Malta Postal Museum in Valletta (a first).
Maltex 2025 was a captivating celebration of Malta's rich history, culture, and heritage through the art of philately. Entitled "Echoes of Malta, A Philatelic Journey", this prestigious exhibition featured rare and valuable pieces of postal history, stamps, postcards, and philatelic items, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience highlights of Malta's story in ways that few other mediums can provide.
Split across two distinct galleries, the exhibition featured a diverse array of exhibits, ranging from early Maltese postal documents to contemporary items highlighting national historical milestones and traditions.

Malta Post sponsored this prestigious exhibition, and to commemorate this special event, the Philatelic Bureau released an occasion card, a personalised stamp/cover and a special postmark.
This special postmark, including the Maltese 2025 logo, was applied on March 16, 2025 (a Sunday! see the second manual handstamp from the Malta Postal Museum on the left) to the cover above. Many thanks, Silvan!
Silvan used the Sepac (Small European Postal Administration Cooperation - SEPAC) stamp issued on September 16, 2024, as part of a series (4 stamps) illustrating the theme "Main Tourist Attractions".
This stamp (€1.91, print run: 60,000) shows a panoramic view taken from inside the spectacular Mixta Cave, perched atop the steep cliffs of Nadur, in Gozo. Through its wide crevice, one can enjoy a breathtaking view of Ramla Bay, the spectacular reddish-golden sand beach located on the northern coast of the island of Gozo.
Mixta Cave offers a unique blend of natural beauty, tranquillity and a touch of mysticism.

Sepac 2022 (local beverages) stamp on FDC from Guernsey

As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures.
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (9 in 2022, all except Gibraltar, Vatican City and Isle of Man) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.

Guernsey, part of the Channel Islands archipelago (British dependency) located in the English Channel off the coast of France, has participated in these Sepac issues since the beginning in 2007 (landscapes) and issued its 13th Sepac stamp, on June 22, 2022, illustrating that year the theme of local beverages

This Sepac stamp (£1.10) is part of a set of four stamps (each printed by Bpost in a sheetlet of 10 stamps) featuring humorous illustrations of seagull's mischiefs.
Designed by James Colmer, this complete series is featured on the official FDC above.
Seagulls will do anything to snatch anything they can get their beaks on, as this amusing series demonstrates. They are very clever creatures when it comes to mealtimes and use their keen sense of smell and great vision but they have developed a taste for human food, swooping in for any tasty tidbits they can find in their hunt for an easy meal.
Seagulls have snatched from humans on this set a piece of cake
(£0.52), a mackerel (£0.79), an ice cream (£1.35), and even a beer on the Sepac stamp, in this case a can of Breda, an award-winning beer (which won silver at the 2013 International Brewing Awards).
Since 2008, local brewery Randalls (est. 1868) has been transforming malted barley, hops, water and yeast into this popular 5% abv pale lager.

Sepac 2024 (Main tourist attractions) stamp on cover from Luxembourg

Merci beaucoup Dimitri !

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has been participating in these Sepac issues since 2009 and issued, on September 10, 2024, its 14th Sepac stamp, illustrating the theme of "Main tourist attractions".
This stamp ("E50g" - €1.40, print run: 50,000), designed by Arnaud de Meyer, dedicated to the Pfaffenthal district of the town of Luxembourg, was used on the cover below, sent on November 27, 2024 from Esch-sur-Alzette. Thank you very much Dimitri!

Pfaffenthal ("Pafendall" in Luxembourgish) is one of the 24 districts of the city of Luxembourg, located in the Alzette Valley. It extends approximately from the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge (shown in the background on this stamp) to the railway viaduct, just northeast of the Ville Haute (Upper Town).
This district, located 60 metres below the Ville Haute, has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage buffer zone since 1994. It is the oldest district of Luxembourg City, offering a spectacular view of part of the old fortifications and the old town.
Since 2016, a panoramic elevator (shown on the left on the stamp) has connected Pfaffenthal to the Fondation Pescatore park in the Ville Haute.
A sculpture by artist Menny Olinger, "De midde Waasserdréier", inaugurated in 2024 in this district sometimes nicknamed "Little Venice", recalls that at the time when the Upper Town did not have running water or wells, the inhabitants of the district carried buckets on their shoulders to the wealthy bourgeois.
This monument represents a young water carrier, tired and resting, and a little girl bringing him roses.
