Série "Carnaval is We Ting" sur lettre de Trinité & Tobago

Merci beaucoup Zhou pour cette intéressante lettre envoyée en recommandé le 9 juin 2020 (reçue seulement récemment !) depuis la ville de Port of Spain, capitale de la République de Trinité & Tobago, deux îles situées au large du Vénézuela.
Les 4 timbres font partie d'une série (5 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) émise le 1er mars 2011, consacrée au carnaval de Trinidad, un événement annuel d'envergure mondiale, au même titre que le carnaval de Venise ou le carnaval de Rio.
Le carnaval de Trinité & Tobago a lieu chaque année les jours avant les Mercredi des Cendres et est reconnu pour les costumes colorés des participants, les célébrations exubérantes et des ensembles de percussions (steelbands) jouant de la soca. 
Thank you very much Zhou for this interesting letter sent by registered mail on June 9, 2020 (received only recently!) from the city of Port of Spain, capital of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, two islands located off the coast of Venezuela.
The 4 stamps are part of a series (5 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) issued on March 1, 2011, devoted to the Trinidad Carnival, an annual event of worldwide scope, just like the Carnival of Venice or the Carnival of Rio.
The Trinidad & Tobago Carnival takes place the days before Ash Wednesday each year and is known for the participants' colorful costumes, exuberant celebrations and steel bands playing soca.

 

Ces timbres représentent en particulier un participant à ce carnaval dans un costume de "personnage du ciel" (1.00$), conçu par l'artiste local Peter Minshall (né en 1941), connu pour ses costumes créés pour le célèbre carnaval de Notting Hill à Londres ou pour des cérémonies internationales (jeux olympiques...). Chaque costume est conçu avec le mouvement de l'interprète à l'esprit, de sorte que l'interprète et le costume ne font qu'un.
Les 3 autres timbres représentent une reine junior du carnaval défilant sur Broadway (3,75$), des enfants déguisés défilant sur Frederick Street (4,50$) et un chef indien noir (5,25$).
A noter que ces timbres comportent le mention "Carnival is We Ting" qu'on pourrai traduire par "Bas les pattes, ce carnaval est à nous". 
These stamps specifically feature a participant in this carnival in a "sky people" costume ($1.00), designed by local artist Peter Minshall (b. 1941), known for his costumes created for the famous Notting Hill Carnival in London or for international ceremonies (Olympic Games...). Each costume is designed with the motion of the performer in mind, so that performer and costume are one.

The other 3 stamps feature a junior carnival queen parading on Broadway ($3.75), disguised children parading on Frederick Street ($4.50) and a black Indian chief ($5.25).
To note that these stamps include the words "Carnival is We Ting" which could be translated as "Hands off, this carnival is ours".

Un court message pour partager cette lettre exotique, en provenance de Trinité-et-Tobago et de son bureau philatélique à Port-of-Spain en particulier, envoyée le 2 novembre 2015.
Le timbre ($4.50) fait partie d'une série de 4 timbres, émise le 19 juin 2002, consacrée à différentes espèces de papillons.
A short post to share with you this exotic cover from Trinidad and Tobago and its philatelic bureau in Port-of-Spain in particular, sent on November 2, 2015.
The stamp ($ 4.50) is part of a series of four stamps, issued on June 19, 2002, devoted to different species of butterflies.

Ce timbre représente l'espèce de papillon Adelpha iphiclus (mention "papillon des 4 continents" en anglais à gauche sur ce timbre), d'une envergure de 42 mm à 48 mm, avec ses ailes de couleur marron ornées d'une tache orange dans la partie supérieure et de longues bandes blanches.
Ce papillon vit dans les régions tropicales et sub-tropicales d'Amérique centrale et du Sud, du Mexique à la Bolivie, à des altitudes comprises entre de 0 et 1200 mètres.
That stamp depicts the butterfly species Adelpha iphiclus (mention "The Four Continent Butterfly" in English to the left on the stamp), with a wingspan of 42 mm to 48 mm and its brown wings adorned with an orange spot in the upper part and long white bands.
This butterfly is found in tropical and sub-tropical regions of Central and South America, from Mexico to Bolivia, at altitudes ranging from 0 to 1,200 meters.

2ème lettre reçue de Trinité et Tobago !

Très heureux de partager avec vous cette jolie lettre envoyée le 8 octobre 2014 (les 2 TAD du "National Mail Center" ne sont malheureusement pas très nets) de Port of Spain, la capitale de la république de Trinité et Tobago, deux îles situées au large du Vénézuela.
Le timbre à 5$ fait partie d'une série de 10 timbres, émise le 18 mai 2005, consacrée à des plantes médicinales, une plante du type Senna ici, utilisée depuis des siècles comme un laxatif ou pour traiter des maladies de peau.
Le timbre à 50$ est la plus forte valeur d'une série de 12 timbres, émise le 17 décembre 1990, consacrée à différentes espèces d'oiseaux vivant dans le pays, le faucon pèlerin (Falco peregrinus) ici, une espèce de rapace présente sur tous les continents sauf l'Antarctique...

The $ 50.00 stamp is the highest value of a set of 12 stamps, issued on December 17, 1990, devoted to different species of birds living in the country, the Peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus) here, a species of bird of prey present on all continents except Antarctica...

La mauvaise qualité de l'oblitération ne permet malheureusement pas de connaître la date précise d'envoi de cette 1ère lettre postée à Port of Spain, capitale de la république de Trinité et Tobago, deux îles situées au large du Vénézuela...

L'administration postale de Trinité et Tobago (TTPost) n'émet que 4 ou 5 séries de timbres chaque année, ayant souvent des thèmes locaux (patrimoine, flore, faune, sport...).
Ca fait rêver !

The postal administration of Trinidad and Tobago (TTPost) is issuing only four or five series of stamps every year, often with local themes (heritage, flora, fauna, sport...).
