"Heritage Conservation Day 2025 - Kriab Mirror" stamps on cover from Thailand

Timbres "Journée de la préservation du patrimoine 2025 - Miroir Kriab" sur lettre de Thaïlande 

En 1985, le gouvernement royal thaïlandais a désigné le 2 avril comme "Journée de la préservation du patrimoine thaïlandais" pour honorer la princesse Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (née en 1955), sœur du roi Rama X, et honorer la contribution de la famille royale à la conservation du patrimoine national pour les générations futures. 
Depuis 1988, la poste thaïlandaise émet chaque année en avril des timbres consacrés à cette Journée de la préservation du patrimoine, ce qui fut encore le cas le 2 avril 2025 avec une jolie série (4 timbre) consacrée à un art traditionnel appelé "Miroir Kriab".
Ces 4 timbres (5 THB, conception : Patipol Sorging), imprimés chacun en feuillets de 10 timbres ainsi que dans un même bloc-feuillet, ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 18 juin 2026 depuis Bangkok. Merci beaucoup Thein !  
Les tesselles de miroir Kriab (ou verre thaï ancien) sont un type d'élément de mosaïque en miroir recouvert de plomb, que l'on retrouve sur la plupart des sites archéologiques et monuments datant du 18ème siècle dans le centre de la Thaïlande.  
In 1985, the Royal Thai Government designated April 2 as "Thai Heritage Conservation Day" to honor Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (b. 1955), sister of King Rama X, and to honor the royal family's contribution to the conservation of the national heritage for future generations.
Since 1988, the Thai Post has issued stamps dedicated to this Heritage Conservation Day every year in April, which was again the case on April 2, 2025, with a lovely series (4 stamps) featuring a traditional art form known as "Kriab mirror".
These four stamps (5 THB, designed by Patipol Sorging)—printed both in sheetlets of ten and in a single souvenir sheet—have been used on the cover below, sent from Bangkok on June 18, 2026. Many thanks, Thein!
Kriab-mirror tesserae (or ancient Thai glass) are a type of lead-coated mosaic mirror found in most archaeological sites and antiquities dating back to the 18th century in central Thailand.  

Il s'agit d'un verre ayant subi un traitement spécifique (une forme de trempe) pour servir à la décoration des insignes royaux, des masques de Khon, des temples, des palais ainsi que des parures de la royauté et de la noblesse. 
Ces 4 timbres représentent en particulier un motif d'hibiscus thaïlandais sculpté dans le bois sur un fronton, un motif floral en stuc thaïlandais sur l'arche et le socle de la statue de Bouddha au Wat Tanod, Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi, un masque de Khon représentant Phra Narai et un motif "Kudan" en stuc thaïlandais ornant le coussin du Bouddha couché dans le temple Wat Phra Chettuphon à Bangkok. 
Thein a aussi utilisé 2 timbres "Symbole de l'amour" en haut à droite (10 THB, conception : Euamporn Supharoekchai), émis le 7 février 2022 et le 7 février 2023, représentant respectivement une rose arc-en-ciel, colorée et éclatante, symbolisant les différentes formes d'amour et une rose violette symbolisant l'enchantement et la splendeur, utilisée pour féliciter quelqu'un lors des étapes marquantes et réussies de sa vie.
Le bloc-feuillet à gauche (25 THB) a été émis le 20 février 2024 pour marquer la Journée mondiale pour aimer votre animal de compagnie.
Ce bloc-feuillet numéroté (tirage : 300000), conçu par Uamporn Suparerkchai, est spécial car il a été imprimé (en France par Cartor Security Printing) sur papier floqué avec aspect velours ! 
This refers to a type of glass that has undergone a specific treatment (a form of tempering) to be used in decorating royal regalia, Khon masks, temples, and palaces, as well as the adornments of royalty and the nobility.
These four stamps specifically depict a Thai hibiscus motif carved in wood on a pediment; a Thai stucco floral motif found on the arch and pedestal of the Buddha statue at Wat Tanod in Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi; a Khon mask representing Phra Narai; and a Thai stucco "Kudan" pattern adorning the cushion of the Reclining Buddha at Wat Phra Chettuphon in Bangkok.
Thein also used two "Symbol of Love" stamps located at the top right (10 THB; designed by Euamporn Supharoekchai)—issued on February 7, 2022, and February 7, 2023, respectively—depicting a vibrant, colorful rainbow rose (symbolizing the various forms of love) and a purple rose (symbolizing enchantment and splendor, often used to offer congratulations on life's milestones and successes).
The souvenir sheet on the left (25 THB) was issued on February 20, 2024, to mark "Love Your Pet Day".
This numbered souvenir sheet (print run: 300,000), designed by Uamporn Suparerkchai, is special because it was printed (in France by Cartor Security Printing) on ​​flocked paper with a velvety texture!  

Pour commémorer la Journée nationale de l'enfant ("Wan Dek") 2024 (célébrée chaque année le deuxième samedi de janvier), la poste thaïlandaise a mis en circulation, le 13 janvier 2024, un bloc-feuillet (5 THB, conception : Nasikarn Karunwongwat) représentant des enfants dans un style graphique coloré et ludique, s'adonnant à diverses activités, évoquant la joie et de beaux souvenirs.
Pour l'occasion, les enfants ont accès gratuitement à de nombreuses activités et événements avec parfois des cadeaux à la clé. 
C'est ce bloc-feuillet numéroté (tirage : 300000) qui a été utilisé sur l'autre côté de cette enveloppe ci-dessus. 
Cette Journée nationale de l'enfant 2024 avait pour thème : "Cultivez l'esprit critique, respectez les différences et créez ensemble".
Cette célébration a débuté en 1955, inspirée par le mouvement mondial en faveur de la reconnaissance des droits et du bien-être des enfants. 
To commemorate National Children's Day ("Wan Dek") 2024 (celebrated annually on the second Saturday of January), Thailand Post issued a souvenir sheet on January 13, 2024 (5 THB; design by Nasikarn Karunwongwat). It depicts children engaged in various activities in a colorful, playful graphic style, evoking joy and fond memories.
For the occasion, children have free access to numerous activities and events, often with gifts included.
This numbered souvenir sheet (print run: 300,000) is the one used on the reverse side of the envelope above.
The theme for National Children's Day 2024 was: "Embrace critical thinking, respect differences, and create together".
This celebration began in 1955, inspired by the global movement advocating for the recognition of children's rights and well-being.  

Gastronomy, symbols of love, pets, World Post Day stamps on cover from Thailand

Gastronomie, symboles de l'amour, animaux de compagnie et Journée mondiale de la poste sur lettre de Thaïlande 

L'année 2025 a marqué un tournant pour la Thaïlande, qui occupe désormais une place de choix sur l'échiquier gastronomique international. Les inspecteurs du Guide Michelin ont en effet attribué trois Étoiles au restaurant "Sorn" à Bangkok, avec à sa tête le talentueux chef-propriétaire autodidacte Supaksorn "Ice" Jongsiri.
Par ailleurs, le pays compte 7 restaurants deux Étoiles, 28 établissements une Étoile, 156 Bib Gourmand et 270 tables recommandées par le Guide Michelin.
Le 16 octobre 2025, la poste thaïlandaise a mis en circulation une jolie série (4 timbres - 5 THB, conception : Euamporn Supharoekchai) consacrée à la cuisine thaïlandaise, en particulier des plats de la carte de ce restaurant "Sorn". 
Trois de ces timbres ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 18 juin 2026 depuis Bangkok. Merci beaucoup Thein !
Ces 3 timbres illustrent (de gauche à droite) un curry jaune aigre, un curry vert au bœuf et une salade de riz. 
The year 2025 marked a turning point for Thailand, which now holds a prominent place on the international culinary stage. Michelin Guide inspectors indeed awarded three stars to the Bangkok restaurant "Sorn", led by the talented, self-taught chef-owner Supaksorn "Ice" Jongsiri.
In addition, the country boasts seven two-star restaurants, 28 one-star establishments, 156 Bib Gourmand venues, and 270 restaurants recommended by the Michelin Guide.
On October 16, 2025, Thailand Post issued a lovely series of four stamps (5 THB; designed by Euamporn Supharoekchai) dedicated to Thai food—specifically featuring dishes from the menu at this "Sorn" restaurant.

Featuring a depiction of Cupid, this stamp is part of a series launched in 2011 (unless I am mistaken) aimed at encouraging philatelic activities.

On the other side of the envelope above, Thein has used the fourth stamp from this "Thai Food" set on the right, featuring a crab dish with chili sauce.

The stamp at the bottom (3 THB) is the joint issue for "World Post Day – Post for Plane", released on October 9, 2022; it conveys a simplified visual message about the postal service's contribution to an environmentally sustainable future.

"75 Years of Diplomatic Relations" joint stamp set with Thailand, on cover from Laos

Série "75 ans de relations diplomatiques", commune avec la Thaïlande, sur lettre du Laos 

Le Laos et la Thaïlande entretiennent des relations bilatérales depuis l'époque de leurs prédécesseurs, les royaumes de Lan Xang et d'Ayutthaya, au 15ème siècle.
Les deux pays partagent une frontière et présentent des similitudes linguistiques et culturelles. La région thaïlandaise d'Isan, au nord-est du pays, possède des racines laotiennes particulièrement profondes.
La diplomatie s'est concentrée sur le Mékong, avec l'ambition d'en faire un "fleuve de paix et d'amitié véritables". Les relations diplomatiques entre les deux états modernes ont été établies en 1950, mais la coopération transfrontalière a véritablement débuté à la fin de la Guerre froide. 
Le 19 décembre 2025, les administrations postales des 2 pays ont mis en circulation une intéressante série commune (2 timbres) à l'occasion du 75ème anniversaire de l'établissement de ces relations diplomatiques. 
La poste laotienne a imprimé ces 2 timbres (20000 LAK, tirage : 6000 chacun) en feuilles de 20 timbres, ainsi que dans un même bloc-feuillet (tirage : 3000).

Laos and Thailand have maintained bilateral relations since the time of their predecessors, the kingdoms of Lan Xang and Ayutthaya, in the 15th century.
The two countries share a border and exhibit linguistic and cultural similarities. The Thai region of Isan, in the northeast of the country, has particularly deep Laotian roots.
Diplomacy has focused on the Mekong River, with the ambition of making it a "river of true peace and friendship." Diplomatic relations between the two modern states were established in 1950, but cross-border cooperation truly began at the end of the Cold War.
On December 19, 2025, the postal administrations of the two countries issued an interesting joint series (two stamps) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of these diplomatic relations.
The Laotian postal service printed these two stamps (20,000 LAK, print run: 6,000 each) in sheets of 20 stamps, as well as in a souvenir sheet (print run: 3,000).
These two stamps have been used on the cover below, sent by registered mail on February 6, 2026, from Vientiane, the capital. Thank you very much, Edwin!  

La Thaïlande et le Laos entretiennent depuis longtemps des liens étroits à travers la langue, la littérature, la religion, la culture et les traditions, notamment le Naga, une créature mythique, que les deux nations vénèrent comme protecteur du bouddhisme et symbole d'abondance.
Les Nagas gardent les trésors de la nature, sont attachés à l'eau et apportent la prospérité. 
Le premier timbre (conception : Thaneth Ponchaiwong pour la poste thaïlandaise) représente Phaya Si Satta Nakharat, un Naga vert émeraude aspergeant d'eau et libérant des fleurs de lotus, un geste symbolique d'amitié envers le pays voisin et de protection sur le Mékong. 
L'autre timbre (conception : Vongsavanh Damlongsouk pour la poste laotienne) met à l'honneur le Virupaksha Naga d'or, censé apporter chance, succès et bonheur à ceux qui croient en cette créature mythique. 
A noter que le logo officiel de ces 75 ans de relations diplomatiques n'est pas présent sur ces 2 timbres (c'est le cas sur les timbres thaïlandais). Ce logo a été dévoilé le 20 février 2025 à Bangkok à l'occasion de la visite officielle du premier ministre laotien.
Ce motif doré représente des monuments emblématiques tels que le Phra That Sri Song Rak en Thaïlande et le Pha That Luang au Laos. Le cadre complexe en forme de cœur, orné des fleurs et drapeaux nationaux, témoigne des liens culturels et historiques profonds qui se sont tissés au fil des décennies.
Thailand and Laos have long shared close ties through language, literature, religion, culture, and traditions, including the Naga, a mythical creature revered by both nations as a protector of Buddhism and a symbol of abundance.
Nagas guard nature's treasures, are associated with water, and bring prosperity.
The first stamp (designed by Thaneth Ponchaiwong for the Thai postal service) depicts Phaya Si Satta Nakharat, an emerald green Naga sprinkling water and releasing lotus blossoms, a symbolic gesture of friendship toward the neighboring country and protection over the Mekong River.
The other stamp (designed by Vongsavanh Damlongsouk for the Laotian postal service) features the golden Virupaksha Naga, believed to bring good fortune, success, and happiness to those who believe in this mythical creature. 
It is worth noting that the official logo commemorating these 75 years of diplomatic relations is not featured on these two stamps (this is the case on Thai stamps). This logo was unveiled on February 20, 2025, in Bangkok during the official visit of the Laotian Prime Minister.
This gold-toned motif depicts iconic landmarks such as Phra That Sri Song Rak in Thailand and Pha That Luang in Laos. The intricate heart-shaped frame, adorned with national flowers and flags, reflects the deep cultural and historical ties that have flourished over decades. 

"150 years of the UPU 1874-2024" stamps on cover from Thailand

Timbres "150 ans de l'UPU 1874-2024" sur lettre de Thaïlande 

En 2024, l'Union Postale Universelle (UPU) célébrait son 150ème anniversaire. Le 9 octobre 1874, 22 pays se sont réunis pour signer le Traité de Berne, créant ainsi l'Union générale des postes, qui deviendra ensuite l'Union Postale Universelle (à partir de 1878).
150 ans plus tard, l'UPU unit à présent les réseaux postaux de 192 pays membres. Elle a ainsi concrétisé la vision de ses fondateurs, qui consistait à établir un territoire postal unique pour servir toutes les populations, où qu'elles se trouvent.
Avec le thème de ce 150ème anniversaire, "150 ans d'engagement pour la communication et le développement des peuples à travers le monde", l'UPU célèbre cette réalisation et renforce son engagement à servir les populations pour les années et siècles à venir.
Tout au long de cette année 2024, l'UPU a organisé une série d'événements et des campagnes visant à rendre hommage à la richesse de son passé, à la pertinence de son présent et aux promesses de son avenir, en utilisant en particulier le hashtag #UPU150 sur les réseaux sociaux.

In 2024, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) celebrated its 150th anniversary. On October 9, 1874, 22 countries gathered to sign the Treaty of Bern, creating the General Postal Union, which would later become known as the Universal Postal Union (from 1878).
150 years later, the UPU now unites the postal networks of 192 member countries, having realized its founders' vision of establishing a single postal territory to serve people everywhere.
The UPU's theme for its 150th year, "150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations", recognizes this accomplishment, and reinforces its commitment to serve peoples for the decades and centuries to come.
Throughout 2024, the UPU organized a series of events and campaigns in celebration of its rich past, dedicated present and promising future, in particular using the hashtag #UPU150 on social media.
The UPU, a specialized agency of the United Nations (since 1947) headquartered in Bern, Switzerland, is the second oldest international organization after the International Telecommunications Union, and constitutes the main forum for cooperation between global postal sector players.  

Le 9 octobre 2024 (Journée mondiale de la poste), la poste thaïlandaise a mis en circulation un timbre consacré au 150ème anniversaire de l'UPU.
Ce timbre (5 THB), imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, a été utilisé en 3 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 23 juillet 2025 (2025 correspondant à l'année 2568 dans le calendrier bouddhiste) depuis le bureau postal de Udom Suk, situé dans le district de Bang Na à Bangkok. Ce timbre a été conçu à partir du logo officiel de ce 150ème anniversaire créé par l'UPU (par Sonja Denovski) et comporte le drapeau de la Thaïlande, membre de l'UPU depuis le 1er juillet 1885.
Edwin a utilisé 3 autres timbres dont un (3 THB) en bas à gauche qui semble extrait d'une feuille de timbres personnalisés (vignette à gauche + timbre à droite, date d'émission inconnue) représentant le bureau de poste principal de Bangkok.
Ce "General Post Office", également connu sous le nom de "Grand Postal Building", est un bâtiment historique du quartier de Bang Rak à Bangkok. Inauguré en 1940 sur l'ancien site de la légation britannique, il a été conçu par les architectes Sarot Sukkhayang et Mew Aphaiwong dans un mélange d'architecture Art déco et de style international qui reflétait le désir du Parti populaire au pouvoir de projeter une image moderne et puissante de l'État.En 2017, le bâtiment a été converti pour être utilisé comme nouveau siège du Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC). On October 9, 2024 (World Post Day), the Thai postal service issued a stamp commemorating the 150th anniversary of the UPU.
This stamp (5 THB), printed in a sheetlet of 10, was used three times on the cover above, sent on July 23, 2025 (2025 corresponding to the year 2568 in the Buddhist calendar) from the Udom Suk Post Office in Bangkok's Bang Na district. Thank you so much, Edwin!
This stamp was designed using the official 150th anniversary logo created by the UPU (by Sonja Denovski) and features the flag of Thailand, a UPU member since July 1, 1885.
Edwin used three other stamps, including one (3 THB) in the lower left corner that appears to be from a sheet of personalized stamps (label on the left + stamp on the right, unknown date of issue) depicting the Bangkok General Post Office. 
This "General Post Office", also known as the "Grand Postal Building", is a historic building in the Bang Rak district of Bangkok. Opened in 1940 on the former site of the British Legation, it was designed by architects Sarot Sukkhayang and Mew Aphaiwong in a blend of Art Deco and International Style architecture that reflected the ruling People's Party's desire to project a modern and powerful image of the state.
In 2017, the building was converted for use as the new headquarters of the Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC). A branch post office of Thailand Post remains at the building, providing postal services to the general public.

Le premier timbre (conception : Thaneth Ponchaiwong pour la poste thaïlandaise) représente Phaya Si Satta Nakharat, un Naga vert émeraude aspergeant d'eau et libérant des fleurs de lotus, un geste symbolique d'amitié envers le pays voisin et de protection sur le Mékong. 
L'autre timbre (conception : Vongsavanh Damlongsouk pour la poste laotienne) met à l'honneur le Virupaksha Naga d'or, censé apporter chance, succès et bonheur à ceux qui croient en cette créature mythique. 
A noter que le logo officiel de ces 75 ans de relations diplomatiques est présent en haut à droite sur les 2 timbres. Ce logo a été dévoilé le 20 février 2025 à Bangkok à l'occasion de la visite officielle du premier ministre laotien.
Ce motif doré représente des monuments emblématiques tels que le Phra That Sri Song Rak en Thaïlande et le Pha That Luang au Laos. Le cadre complexe en forme de cœur, orné des fleurs et drapeaux nationaux, témoigne des liens culturels et historiques profonds qui se sont tissés au fil des décennies.
Thailand and Laos have long shared close ties through language, literature, religion, culture, and traditions, including the Naga, a mythical creature revered by both nations as a protector of Buddhism and a symbol of abundance.
Nagas guard nature's treasures, are associated with water, and bring prosperity.
The first stamp (designed by Thaneth Ponchaiwong for the Thai postal service) depicts Phaya Si Satta Nakharat, an emerald green Naga sprinkling water and releasing lotus blossoms, a symbolic gesture of friendship toward the neighboring country and protection over the Mekong River.
The other stamp (designed by Vongsavanh Damlongsouk for the Laotian postal service) features the golden Virupaksha Naga, believed to bring good fortune, success, and happiness to those who believe in this mythical creature. 
It is worth noting that the official logo commemorating these 75 years of diplomatic relations is featured in the upper right corner of both stamps. This logo was unveiled on February 20, 2025, in Bangkok during the official visit of the Laotian Prime Minister.
This gold-toned motif depicts iconic landmarks such as Phra That Sri Song Rak in Thailand and Pha That Luang in Laos. The intricate heart-shaped frame, adorned with national flowers and flags, reflects the deep cultural and historical ties that have flourished over decades.

Pour commémorer le 60ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre le Royaume de Thaïlande et la République de Singapour, les administrations postales des 2 pays ont mis en circulation, le 19 septembre 2025, une intéressante série commune (2 timbres) illustrant des lieux emblématiques de chaque pays.
Membres fondateurs de l'ASEAN, Singapour et la Thaïlande entretiennent depuis 1965 des relations très étroites dans les domaines du commerce, de la défense et de la culture en particulier. 
La poste thaïlandaise a imprimé ces 2 timbres (5 THB chacun, conception : Ivory Seah et Thaneth Ponchaiwong) dans un même feuillet composé de 10 timbres (5 paires).
Un grand merci Chamnan pour l'envoi de cette jolie lettre le 9 décembre 2025 (2025 correspondant à l'année 2568 dans le calendrier bouddhiste) depuis le bureau de On Nut (213) à Bangkok, affranchie avec 2 paires de cette série commune ! 
L'empreinte à gauche semble indiquer que le 9 décembre 2025 correspondait au premier jour d'ouverture de ce bureau postal de On Nut, situé à cette adresse : Soi Jadsan Thahan Ruea 48.
Le timbre à droite est consacré aux "shophouses" colorées de Temple Street à Singapour, ces édifices étant traditionnels en Asie du sud-est dans les régions où la communauté chinoise est importante. 
Il s'agit de maisons souvent collées les unes aux autres avec le premier étage (rez de chaussée) pour faire du commerce (magasin, restaurant...) et le second étage pour vivre. 
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Singapore, the postal administrations of both countries released an interesting joint series (two stamps) on September 19, 2025, depicting iconic locations in each country.
Founding members of ASEAN, Singapore and Thailand have maintained very close relations since 1965, particularly in the areas of trade, defense, and culture. 
The Thai Post printed these two stamps (5 THB each, designed by Ivory Seah and Thaneth Ponchaiwong) in a single sheetlet of 10 stamps (5 pairs).
Many thanks to Chamnan for sending this lovely cover on December 9, 2025 (2025 corresponding to the year 2568 in the Buddhist calendar) from the On Nut (213) post office in Bangkok, stamped with two pairs from this joint set!
The imprint on the left seems to indicate that December 9, 2025, was the first day this On Nut post office opened, located at Soi Jadsan Thahan Ruea 48. 
The stamp on the right features the colorful shophouses of Temple Street in Singapore, buildings that are traditional in Southeast Asia, particularly in areas with a large Chinese community.
These are houses often built close together, with the ground floor used for commercial purposes (shops, restaurants, etc.) and the upper floor for living quarters.

Le nom de la rue fait référence au temple Sri Mariamman, le plus ancien temple hindou de Singapour, situé à l'extrémité de la rue, fondé en 1827. Autrefois, Temple Street abritait de nombreux commerçants Teochew vendant de la porcelaine et des articles ménagers. On y trouvait également des ferblantiers ambulants, des ateliers de travail du métal et des forgerons fabriquant des fers à cheval. 
L'autre timbre est consacré à Tha Chang Wang Luang, un quai et un quartier communautaire renommés près du Grand Palais à Bangkok, célèbre pour son marché animé et son importance historique le long du fleuve Chao Phraya. 
Son nom signifie "Quai des Éléphants" et il fut construit sous le règne du roi Rama Ier, à la fin du 18ème siècle. À cette époque, les éléphants du Grand Palais étaient amenés à cet endroit pour se baigner.
Aujourd'hui, Tha Chang accueille le Chao Phraya Express Boat, qui assure la liaison entre Bangkok et la province de Nonthaburi, au nord du fleuve. On y trouve également de nombreux commerces et restaurants.
À l'angle du quartier de Tha Chang, se dressent d'anciennes maisons-boutiques construites sous le règne du roi Rama V à la fin du 19ème siècle, ornées d'un magnifique fronton en plâtre, de pilastres et de stucs, comme celle (façade jaune, fenêtres bleues) illustrée sur le timbre. Classées sites archéologiques par le Département des Beaux-Arts depuis 2001, elles sont aujourd'hui rénovées et entretenues.
A noter que les 2 pays avaient déjà émis des séries communes en 1997 (coquillages) et 2015 (desserts - 50 ans de relations diplomatiques).

On the corner of the Tha Chang district stand old shophouses built during the reign of King Rama V in the late 19th century, adorned with magnificent plaster pediments, pilasters, and stucco work, like the one (yellow facade, blue windows) pictured on the stamp. Designated as archaeological sites by the Department of Fine Arts since 2001, they are now being renovated and maintained. 
To note that the two countries had already issued joint series in 1997 (seashells) and 2015 (desserts - 50 years of diplomatic relations).

Feuillet "50 ans de relations diplomatiques avec la Chine" sur lettre de Thaïlande 

La Thaïlande et la Chine ont officiellement établi leurs relations diplomatiques le 1er juillet 1975, avec la signature d'un communiqué conjoint à Beijing. En 2012, les deux pays ont déclaré la création d'un partenariat stratégique global de coopération. Poursuivant leurs liens, les deux parties ont convenu en 2022 d'œuvrer à la création d'une communauté de destin Thaïlande-Chine pour une stabilité, une prospérité et une durabilité accrues...
Le 1er juillet 2025, la poste thaïlandaise a mis en circulation un intéressant feuillet (10 timbres différents à 5 baht, tirage : 100000) et un bloc-feuillet (tirage : 5000) consacrés au 50ème anniversaire de l'établissement de ces relations diplomatiques avec la Chine.
Ce spectaculaire feuillet (avec application d'un vernis spécial), conçu à partir d'aquarelles de l'artiste thaïlandais Suppachai "Louis" Vongnoppadondacha, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 23 juillet 2025 depuis le bureau postal de Udom Suk, situé dans le district de Bang Na à Bangkok. Le premier timbre reproduit le logo officiel de ce 50ème anniversaire, avec un dragon rouge et un nāga noir s'entremêlant pour former le nombre 50. Ce logo est également présent sur chacun des 9 autres timbres. 
Thailand and China officially established diplomatic relations on July 1, 1975, with the signing of a joint communiqué in Beijing. In 2012, the two countries declared the establishment of a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Continuing their ties, the two sides agreed in 2022 to work towards the creation of a Thailand-China community with a shared future for greater stability, prosperity, and sustainability...
On July 1, 2025, the Thai Post issued an interesting sheetlet (10 different 5 baht stamps, print run: 100,000) and a souvenir sheet (print run: 5,000) dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of these diplomatic relations with China.
This spectacular sheetlet (with a special varnish applied), designed from watercolors by Thai artist Suppachai "Louis" Vongnoppadondacha, was used on the cover below, sent on July 23, 2025, from the Udom Suk Post Office in Bangkok's Bang Na district. Many thanks, Edwin!
The first stamp reproduces the official logo for this 50th anniversary, featuring a red dragon and a black naga intertwining to form the number 50. This logo is also featured on each of the other nine stamps.  

Les 9 autres timbres illustrent des sites thaïlandais ayant un lien culturel et historique avec la Chine comme ces sculptures en pierre de gardiens chinois dans le temple du Bouddha couché "Wat Pho", l'un des plus grands et des plus anciens temples bouddhistes de Bangkok.
Le timbre suivant montre des danses du lion pendant le Nouvel An chinois à Bangkok, celui à côté la résidence royale de la Lumière céleste à Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, un manoir de style chinois à deux étages, construit par l'équivalent de la Chambre de commerce chinoise et offert au roi Chulalongkorn en 1889. 
Un exemple d'architecture sino-portugaise dans la vieille ville de Phuket est illustré sur le timbre suivant, celui à côté représentant le temple Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, le plus grand et le plus important temple bouddhiste chinois de Bangkok (achevé en 1846).
Le timbre suivant montre la porte d'entrée de la vieille ville de Songkhla (sud du pays) où vit une importante communauté sino-thaïlandaise, celui à côté étant consacré à Lhong 1919, un port historique important de Bangkok, établi sur la rive ouest du fleuve Chao Phraya. La construction du Lhong remonte en 1850, à l'initiative d'un homme d'affaires sino-thaïlandais, Phraya Pisansuphaphol.
Le timbre suivant montre des carreaux de céramique émaillée de Chine décorant la pagode du temple de l'Aube (Wat Arun, construit durant la période d'Ayutthaya entre 1351 et 1767) à Bangkok, celui à côté représentant le village du Dragon céleste à Suphan Buri, un musée en forme de dragon haut de plus de 35 mètres et long de 135 mètres.
The other nine stamps depict Thai sites with cultural and historical ties with China, such as these stone sculptures of Chinese guardians at the Reclining Buddha Temple, Wat Pho, one of Bangkok's largest and oldest Buddhist temples.
The next stamp depicts lion dances during the Chinese New Year in Bangkok, while the next one depicts the Royal Residence of Heavenly Light in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, a two-story Chinese-style mansion built by the equivalent of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and presented to King Chulalongkorn in 1889.
An example of Sino-Portuguese architecture in Phuket Old Town is depicted on the next stamp, while the next one depicts Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, Bangkok's largest and most important Chinese Buddhist temple (completed in 1846).
The next stamp shows the entrance gate to the old town of Songkhla (southern Thailand), home to a large Sino-Thai community. The one next to it is dedicated to Lhong 1919, an important historic port in Bangkok, established on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The Lhong was built in 1850, at the initiative of a Sino-Thai businessman, Phraya Pisansuphaphol.
The next stamp shows Chinese glazed ceramic tiles decorating the pagoda of the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun, built during the Ayutthaya period between 1351 and 1767) in Bangkok. The one next to it depicts the Heavenly Dragon Village in Suphan Buri, a dragon-shaped museum over 35 meters high and 135 meters long.  

"Floating Palaces" joint stamp set with Thailand, on cover from Poland

Série "Palais flottants", commune avec la Thaïlande, sur lettre de Pologne

Le 14 novembre 2022, les administrations postales de Thaïlande et de Pologne ont mis en circulation une jolie série commune (2 timbres) illustrant des "palais flottants", afin de célébrer le 50ème anniversaire (jour pour jour) de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays.
Les 2 pays entretiennent aujourd'hui des relations étroites, dans le domaine économique (la Thaïlande est pour la Pologne le 2ème partenaire commercial de l'ASEAN), culturel ou scientifique.
Les 2 pays ont imprimé ces 2 timbres dans un feuillet similaire composé de 8 timbres (4 paires).
Trois timbres de cette série (4 PLN, tirage : 240000) émise par la poste polonaise ont été utilisés sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 7 octobre 2024 depuis la ville de Leszno. Merci beaucoup Bartelk ! 
A noter ce TAD spécial consacrée à la Semaine internationale de compositions épistolaires, proposé au public entre le 6 et le 12 octobre 2024 (le 9 octobre étant la Journée mondiale de la poste).
Cette Semaine internationale de compositions épistolaires a été initiée lors de la 14ème Conférence de l'Union Postale Universelle en 1957, mise en place avec l'intention de développer les échanges culturels et de contribuer à la paix dans le monde. 
On November 14, 2022, the postal administrations of Thailand and Poland put into circulation a beautiful joint series (2 stamps) illustrating "floating palaces", in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary (to the day) of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two countries maintain today close relations, in the economic (Thailand is for Poland the 2nd trading partner in ASEAN), cultural or scientific fields.
The two countries printed these two stamps in a similar sheetlet composed of 8 stamps (4 pairs).
Three stamps of this series (4 PLN, print run: 240,000) issued by the Polish Post have been used on the cover below sent on October 7, 2024 from the city of Leszno. Thank you very much Bartelk!
To note this special postmark dedicated to the International Letter Writing Week, offered to the public between October 6 and 12, 2024 (October 9 being World Post Day).
This International Letter Writing Week was initiated at the 14th Conference of the Universal Postal Union in 1957, set up with the intention of developing cultural exchanges and contributing to world peace.

Sur l'ordre du prince Herakliusz Lubomirski, homme politique, écrivain et philosophe parmi les plus illustres de son temps fut construit un pavillon abritant des bains, dans un style baroque rococo.
En 1766, le roi Stanisław II August transforma le pavillon en Palais-sur-l'Île, de style classique. Inspiré des réalisations italiennes telles que la Villa Borghèse ou la Villa Medicis, il devait incarner le rêve d'un état idéal, moderne et souverain. 
The above stamp in two copies reproduces a watercolor by Thai painter Thaneth Ponchaiwong, depicting the floating pavilion of the Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, also known as "Summer Palace", a palace once used by the kings of Thailand, located on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, in Bang Pa-In district, in the south of Ayutthaya province.
Most of the current buildings of this Royal Palace, including this floating pavilion ("Aisawanthipphaya-at"), a Thai teak pavilion built in the middle of a lake, were built between 1872 and 1889 by King Rama V.
The other stamp depicts the Łazienki Palace or Palace-on-the-Isle ("Pałac Na Wyspie"), located in the Łazienki park in Warsaw, from a watercolor by Polish artist Andrzej Gosik.
This classic styled palace was built on an artificial island that divides a lake into two parts. The origin of the current Palace dates back to the end of the 17th century.
On the order of Prince Herakliusz Lubomirski, politician, writer and philosopher among the most illustrious of his time, a pavilion housing baths was built in a Baroque Rococo style.
In 1766, King Stanisław II August transformed the pavilion into this classic-styled Palace-on-the-Isle. Inspired by Italian achievements such as the Villa Borghese or the Villa Medici, it was to embody the dream of an ideal, modern and sovereign state.

Le 8 août 1967 à Bangkok, 5 pays (Indonésie, Malaisie, Philippines, Singapour, Thaïlande) fondaient l'Association des Nations de l'Asie du Sud-Est (ASEAN), une organisation politique, économique et culturelle ayant pour objectif de faire barrage aux mouvements communistes, de développer la croissance et le développement et d'assurer la stabilité dans la région, dans un contexte de guerre froide.

En 2007, une première émission commune (10 timbres différents) consacrée à des édifices emblématiques de chaque pays, avait été mise en circulation pour célébrer le 40ème anniversaire de l'ASEAN.
On August 8, 1967 in Bangkok, five countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand) founded the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a political, economic and cultural organization whose principal aims include accelerating economic growth, social progress, and sociocultural evolution among its members, alongside the protection of regional stability, in the context of the Cold War.
ASEAN is today composed of 10 member countries, after the accession of Brunei Darussalam in 1984, Vietnam in 1995, Laos in 1997, Myanmar in 1997 and Cambodia in 1999, an entity of 625 million inhabitants (9% of the world's population) and the 7th largest economy in the world.

La dernière émission commune impliquant les 10 pays membres de l'ASEAN datait de 2019 et avait pour thème les costumes traditionnels. Depuis 2017, le logo "ASEAN Post" est présent sur ces timbres communs.
Le 8 août 2024, en référence à la date de création de l'ASEAN (57ème anniversaire), une nouvelle émission commune "ASEAN Post" a été mise en circulation, illustrant la thématique des bureaux de poste principaux de chacun des 10 pays.
L'administration postale du Royaume de Thaïlande a émis ce jour-là un joli timbre consacré au bureau de poste principal de Bangkok.
Ce timbre (20 baht, tirage : 150000), conçu par Patipol Sorging et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessus avec TAD spécial (facteur) du Premier Jour d'émission de Bangkok (TAD différent du TAD Premier Jour officiel). Merci beaucoup Lao-in !
Ce "General Post Office", également connu sous le nom de "Grand Postal Building", est un bâtiment historique du quartier de Bang Rak à Bangkok. Inauguré en 1940 sur l'ancien site de la légation britannique, il a été conçu par les architectes Sarot Sukkhayang et Mew Aphaiwong dans un mélange d'architecture Art déco et de style international qui reflétait le désir du Parti populaire au pouvoir de projeter une image moderne et puissante de l'État.
En 2017, le bâtiment a été converti pour être utilisé comme nouveau siège du Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC). Une succursale de la poste thaïlandaise reste dans le bâtiment, fournissant des services postaux au grand public.
The last joint issue involving the 10 ASEAN member countries was in 2019 and had the theme of traditional costumes. Since 2017, the "ASEAN Post" logo has been present on these joint stamps.
On August 8, 2024, in reference to the date of the creation of ASEAN (57th anniversary), a new "ASEAN Post" joint issue was put into circulation, illustrating the theme of the general post offices of each of the 10 countries.
The Postal Administration of the Kingdom of Thailand issued a beautiful stamp dedicated to the Bangkok General Post Office on this day.
This stamp (20 Baht, print run: 150,000), designed by Patipol Sorging and printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, was used in two copies on the above cover with special postmark (postman) of the First Day of Issue from Bangkok (a postmark different from the official one). Thank you very much Lao-in!
This "General Post Office", also known as the "Grand Postal Building", is a historic building in the Bang Rak district of Bangkok. Opened in 1940 on the former site of the British Legation, it was designed by architects Sarot Sukkhayang and Mew Aphaiwong in a blend of Art Deco and International Style architecture that reflected the ruling People's Party's desire to project a modern and powerful image of the state.
In 2017, the building was converted for use as the new headquarters of the Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC). A branch post office of Thailand Post remains at the building, providing postal services to the general public. 

"Heritage Conservation Day 2024 - Khao Klang Nok monument" stamps on cover from Thailand

Timbres "Journée de la préservation du patrimoine 2024 - Khao Klang Nok" sur lettre de Thaïlande

En 1985, le gouvernement royal thaïlandais a désigné le 2 avril comme "Journée de la préservation du patrimoine thaïlandais" pour honorer la princesse Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (née en 1955), sœur du roi Rama X, et honorer la contribution de la famille royale à la conservation du patrimoine national pour les générations futures. 
Depuis 1988, la poste thaïlandaise émet chaque année en avril des timbres consacrés à cette Journée de la préservation du patrimoine, ce qui fut encore le cas le 2 avril 2024 avec un timbre illustrant le monument de Khao Klang Nok, faisant partie de la ville ancienne de Si Thep, un bien inscrit en 2023 par l'UNESCO sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'humanité. 
Ce timbre (10 baht, conception : Patipol Sorging) a été imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres (tirage : 300000) ainsi que dans un bloc-feuillet (tirage : 50000). 
In 1985, the Royal Thai Government designated April 2 as "Thai Heritage Conservation Day" to honor Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (b. 1955), sister of King Rama X, and to honor the royal family's contribution to the conservation of the national heritage for future generations.
Since 1988, the Thai Post has issued stamps dedicated to this Heritage Conservation Day every year in April, which was again the case on April 2, 2024 with a stamp illustrating the Khao Klang Nok monument, part of the ancient town of Si Thep, a property inscribed in 2023 by UNESCO on the list of world heritage of humanity.
This stamp (10 Baht, design: Patipol Sorging) was printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps (print run: 300,000) as well as in a souvenir sheet (print run: 50,000).

 

4 timbres extraits du feuillet numéroté ont été utilisés sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 7 juillet 2024 (2024 correspondant à l'année 2567 dans le calendrier bouddhiste) depuis Sam Sen Nai, bureau postal situé dans le quartier de Phaya Thai (centre de Bangkok), où est implanté le musée philatélique thaïlandais. La ville ancienne de Si Thep est un site caractéristique de villes jumelles, qui comprend une ville intérieure et une ville extérieure entourées de douves, le monument ancien massif de Khao Klang Nok et le monument ancien de la grotte de Khao Thamorrat.
Ensemble, ces sites représentent l'architecture, les traditions artistiques et la diversité religieuse de l'empire de Dvaravati qui s'épanouit du 6ème au 10ème siècle, témoignant des influences de l'Inde.
L'adaptation locale de ces traditions fut à l'origine d'une nouvelle tradition artistique dénommée l'école d'art de Si Thep, qui influença par la suite d'autres civilisations d'Asie du Sud-Est.
Khao Klang Nok, le plus grand monument de l'art de Dvaravati encore existant, témoigne des croyances cosmologiques de cette époque.
Four stamps from the numbered sheetlet were used on this lovely cover sent on July 7, 2024 (2024 corresponds to the year 2567 in the Buddhist calendar) from Sam Sen Nai, a post office located in the Phaya Thai district (central Bangkok), where the Thai Philatelic Museum is located. The ancient town of Si Thep is a characteristic twin-town site, featuring an Inner and Outer Town surrounded by moats, the massive Khao Klang Nok ancient monument and the Khao Thamorrat Cave ancient monument. 
Together these sites represent the architecture, artistic traditions and religious diversity of the Dvaravati Empire that thrived in Central Thailand from the 6th to the 10th centuries, demonstrating the influences from India.
The local adaptation of these traditions resulted in a distinctive artistic tradition known as the Si Thep School of Art which later influenced other civilizations in Southeast Asia.
Khao Klang Nok, the largest surviving Dvaravati art monument, conveys cosmological beliefs of this period.

Cette journée mondiale pour l'amour des animaux de compagnie semble avoir été créée au début des années 2000 dans les pays anglo-saxons, célébrée chaque année le 20 février. Lors de cette journée, le maitre doit montrer à son animal adoré à quel point il l'aime.
Les animaux de compagnie peuvent instantanément faire sourire n'importe qui et apporter de la joie dans un foyer. Les propriétaires d'animaux sont des personnes occupées avec leur travail et leur famille et ne prêtent pas toujours à leur animal suffisamment d'attention.
Cette journée mondiale est ainsi l'occasion de donner de l'amour et de l'attention à n'importe quel animal de la maison, comme un chien, un chat et un cochon d'Inde...
Le 20 février 2024, la poste thaïlandaise a mis en circulation un bloc-feuillet consacré à cette Journée mondiale pour aimer votre animal de compagnie.
Ce bloc-feuillet numéroté (25 baht, tirage : 300000), conçu par Uamporn Suparerkchai, est spécial car il a été imprimé (en France par Cartor Security Printing) sur papier floqué avec aspect velours ! 
This World Love Your Pet Day seems to have been created in the early 2000s in Anglo-Saxon countries, celebrated each year on February 20. During that day, the owner must show his beloved animal how much he loves it.
Pets can instantly make anyone smile and bring joy to a home. Pet owners are busy people with work and family and don't always give their pets enough attention.
This world day is an opportunity to give love and attention to any animal in the house, such as a dog, a cat and a guinea pig...
On February 20, 2024, the Thai Post issued a souvenir sheet dedicated to this World Love Your Pet Day.
This numbered souvenir sheet (25 Baht, print run: 300,000), designed by Uamporn Suparerkchai, is special because it was printed (in France by Cartor Security Printing) on flocked paper with a velvet-like finish!

Un grand merci Thapanaphong pour cette splendide lettre, incluant ce bloc-feuillet et un timbre isolé, envoyé le Premier Jour d'émission (TAD spécial "chat") depuis le quartier de Naphra Lan, situé dans la capitale, Bangkok, non loin du Grand Palais et du célèbre temple du Bouddha d'émeraude !
Un chien (errant ?) semblant prendre soin d'un chat en détresse est représenté sur ce bloc-feuillet, une image pour le moins attendrissante.
A noter qu'une version de ce bloc-feuillet a aussi été émise avec la présence du logo de "The Voice Foundation" dans la marge en bas à droite, une association thaïlandaise (créée en 2012) qui prend soin des animaux errants qui ont subi des accidents, ont été blessés ou abandonnés, y compris en leur trouvant de nouveaux foyers adoptifs, qui aide la communauté dans les efforts de stérilisation, qui sensibilise les jeunes aux soins aux animaux et renforce le sens des responsabilités envers les animaux de compagnie dans la société.
A noter aussi que la poste thaïlandaise avait déjà émis en 2005 un timbre "Rose" sur papier floqué de ce type, ce que d'autres administrations postales ont aussi fait ces dernières années : Russie, France, Finlande, Hong Kong, Singapour, Luxembourg, Autriche, Islande ou Suisse.
Many thanks Thapanaphong for this beautiful cover, including this souvenir sheet and a single stamp, sent on the First Day of Issue (special "cat" cancellation) from the Naphra Lan district, located in the capital, Bangkok, not far from the Grand Palace and the famous Temple of the Emerald Buddha!
A (stray?) dog appearing to take care of a cat in distress is featured on this souvenir sheet, a touching image to say the least.
To note that a version of this souvenir sheet was also issued with the presence of the logo of "The Voice Foundation" in the bottom right margin, a Thai association (created in 2012) which takes care of stray animals which have suffered accidents, have been injured or abandoned, including finding new adoptive homes for them, assisting the community in sterilization efforts, raising awareness of animal care among young people, and reinforcing a sense of responsibility for companion animals in society.
To note also that the Thai Post had already issued a "Rose flower" stamp on flocked paper of this kind in 2005, what other postal administrations have also done in recent years: Russia, France, Finland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Luxembourg, Austria, Iceland or Switzerland. 

"20th anniversary of diplomatic relations" joint stamp set with Thailand, on cover from China

Série "20 ans de relations diplomatiques", commune avec la Thaïlande, sur lettre de Chine

La République Populaire de Chine et le Royaume de Thaïlande ont établi des relations diplomatiques en 1975 et les échanges bilatéraux sont depuis devenus de plus en plus fréquents. Tout en se soutenant mutuellement et en maintenant une bonne coopération, les deux pays ont renforcé leurs liens économiques, scientifiques et technologiques. La Chine et la Thaïlande ont signé des accords sur le commerce, la coopération scientifique et technologique, l'aviation civile, le commerce maritime et la protection des investissements, entre autres.
Le fleuve Mékong en Thaïlande prend sa source dans le fleuve Lancang en Chine. Les deux rivières sont le repaire de nombreux éléphants d'Asie (Elephas maximus).
Une scène avec des éléphants venant de Chine et de Thaïlande chercher de l'eau dans le "même fleuve", symbolisant l'amitié entre les deux pays de génération en génération, illustre les 2 timbres d'une série commune, émise le 1er juillet 1995 pour célébrer les 20 ans de relations diplomatiques entres les 2 pays.
The People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Thailand established diplomatic relations in 1975 and bilateral exchanges have since become increasingly frequent. While supporting each other and maintaining good cooperation, the two countries have strengthened their economic, scientific and technological ties. China and Thailand signed agreements on trade, science and technology cooperation, civil aviation, maritime trade and investment protection, among others.
The Mekong River in Thailand rises from the Lancang River in China. The two rivers are the haunt of many Asian elephants (Elephas maximus).
A scene with elephants coming from China and Thailand looking for water in the "same river", symbolizing the friendship between the two countries from generation to generation, illustrates the two stamps of a joint series, issued on July 1, 1995 to celebrate 20 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

La version chinoise de ces 2 timbres se-tenant (1 yuan chacun), conçus par Vina (poste thaïlandaise), a été utilisée à droite sur cette lettre envoyée le 15 janvier 2024 depuis Beijing. Merci beaucoup Ruinan !
Ruinan a utilisé 2 autres timbres (1,20 yuan chacun) émis le 23 septembre 2023 à l'occasion de la 19ème édition des jeux asiatiques, organisés du 23 septembre au 8 octobre 2023 dans la ville chinoise de Hangzhou (province du Zhejiang).
Cette compétition réunissant 45 pays (près de 12000 athlètes) devait initialement avoir lieu en 2022 mais a été reportée suite à la pandémie de Covid-19. La Chine a dominé ces "jeux olympiques asiatiques" avec 383 médailles (dont 201 en or), devant le Japon et la Corée du Sud.
Ces 2 timbres, conçus par Shao Lichen, représentent respectivement le logo de ces jeux asiatiques (inspiré d'un éventail traditionnel du Zhejiang, une piste de course et des ondes radio) et ses 3 mascottes, Congcong, Lianlian et Chenchen, connues collectivement sous le nom de "Souvenirs de Jiangnan" (Jiangnan faisant référence aux régions de l'est de la Chine au sud du fleuve Yangtze).
Ce sont 3 super-héros robotiques originaires respectivement des ruines archéologiques de la ville de Liangzhu, du lac de l'Ouest et du Grand Canal.

Ruinan used two other stamps (1.20 yuan each) issued on September 23, 2023 on the occasion of the 19th edition of the Asian Games, organized from September 23 to October 8, 2023 in the Chinese city of Hangzhou (Zhejiang province).
This competition bringing together 45 countries (nearly 12,000 athletes) was initially scheduled to take place in 2022 but was postponed following the Covid-19 pandemic. China dominated these "Asian Olympic Games" with 383 medals (including 201 gold), ahead of Japan and South Korea.
These two stamps, designed by Shao Lichen, respectively represent the logo of these Asian games (inspired by a traditional Zhejiang fan, a race track and radio waves) and its 3 mascots, Congcong, Lianlian and Chenchen, known collectively as the "Memories of Jiangnan" (Jiangnan referring to the areas of eastern China south of the Yangtze River).
They are 3 robotic superheroes originally from the archaeological ruins of Liangzhu City, the West Lake and the Grand Canal respectively. 

"50 years of diplomatic relations" joint souvenir sheet with Hungary, on cover from Thailand

Le 29 novembre 2023, les administrations postales de Hongrie et de Thaïlande ont mis en circulation un joli bloc-feuillet commun à l'occasion du 50ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays.
La version thaïlandaise de ce bloc-feuillet numéroté (tirage : 150000), constitué d'un timbre (10 baht) conçu par Patipol Sorging (poste thaïlandaise) a été utilisée en 2 exemplaires sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 3 décembre 2023 depuis Bangkok. Merci beaucoup Thapanaphong !
Ce timbre représente le Palais royal de Bangkok, le fleuve Chao Phraya et la barge royale à gauche, ainsi que le château de Buda (le château historique des rois de Hongrie) et le Danube à droite, illuminés la nuit, semblant s'unir pour ne former qu'une seule ville.
A noter ces 2 oblitérations spéciales évoquant le 140ème anniversaire de la création des services postaux thaïlandais, mis en circulation pendant l'exposition philatélique internationale "THAILAND 2023 Specialised World Stamp Championship" organisée du 27 novembre au 3 décembre 2023.
On November 29, 2023, the postal administrations of Hungary and Thailand put into circulation a pretty joint souvenir sheet on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This stamp depicts the Grand Palace of Bangkok, the Chao Phraya River and the Royal Barge on the left, as well as Buda Castle (the historic castle of the Hungarian kings) and the Danube River on the right, illuminated at night, appearing to unite to form a unique city.
To note these two special postmarks evoking the 140th anniversary of the creation of the Thai postal services, put into circulation during the international philatelic exhibition "THAILAND 2023 Specialized World Stamp Championship" organized from November 27 to December 3, 2023.

János Xántus de Csíktaploca (1825-1894) fut le premier scientifique hongrois à se rendre en Thaïlande en 1869 en tant que membre de l'expédition austro-hongroise en Asie de l'Est. Il publia le premier récit du pays en hongrois en 1887.
En 1897, le roi Chulalongkorn visita la Hongrie lors de sa tournée en Europe. Les relations officielles entre les deux pays étaient déjà établies au 19ème siècle : en 1869, le Traité d'amitié, de commerce et de navigation est signé entre l'Empire austro-hongrois et le Royaume de Siam à Bangkok.
Les liens diplomatiques furent rompus pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. Plus d'un demi-siècle plus tard, les relations diplomatiques furent rétablies le 24 octobre 1973, ce qui conduisit la Hongrie à ouvrir une ambassade à Bangkok en 1978 et le Royaume de Thaïlande à emboîter le pas à Budapest en 1989.
János Xántus de Csíktaploca (1825-1894) was the first Hungarian scientist to travel to Thailand in 1869 as a member of the Austro-Hungarian expedition to East Asia. He published the first account of the country in Hungarian in 1887.
In 1897, King Chulalongkorn visited Hungary during his tour of Europe. Official relations between the two countries were already established in the 19th century: in 1869, the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation was signed between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Kingdom of Siam in Bangkok.
Diplomatic ties were severed during the First World War. More than half a century later, diplomatic relations were re-established on October 24, 1973, leading to Hungary opening an embassy in Bangkok in 1978 and the Kingdom of Thailand following suit in Budapest in 1989.

Le bureau de poste principal ("Grand Postal Building") de Bangkok accueillait, du 27 novembre au 3 décembre 2023, l'exposition philatélique internationale "THAILAND 2023 Specialised World Stamp Championship", à l'occasion des célébrations du 140ème anniversaire de la création des services postaux et de l'émission des premiers timbres thaïlandais.
Pour commémorer cet anniversaire, la poste thaïlandaise a mis en circulation plusieurs séries de timbres et bloc-feuillets tout au long de l'année 2023, en particulier 2 séries (4 timbres et 2 timbres) émises respectivement le 20 septembre 2023 et le 27 novembre 2023, reproduisant les 6 premiers timbres thaïlandais (Royaume de Siam) émis le 4 août 1883.
Ces 6 timbres (5 baht, tirage : 300000 chacun), conçus par Mayuree Narknisorn, imprimés en France par Cartor Security Printing (gaufrage et marquage à chaud à la feuille d'argent et de cuivre), chacun en feuillets de 8 timbres, ont été utilisés sur cette lettre envoyée le 3 décembre 2023 (l'année 2023 correspond en Thaïlande à l'année 2566 d'après le calendrier bouddhiste) depuis cette exposition à Bangkok. The General Post Office (or "Grand Postal Building") in Bangkok hosted, from November 27 to December 3, 2023, the international philatelic exhibition "THAILAND 2023 Specialized World Stamp Championship", on the occasion of the celebrations of the 140th anniversary of the creation of postal services and issue of the first Thai stamps.
To commemorate this anniversary, the Thai Post has put into circulation several series of stamps and souvenir sheets throughout the year 2023, in particular two series (4 stamps and 2 stamps) issued respectively on September 20, 2023 and November 27, 2023 , reproducing the first 6 Thai stamps (Kingdom of Siam) issued on August 4, 1883.
These 6 stamps (5 baht, print run: 300,000 each), designed by Mayuree Narknisorn, printed in France by Cartor Security Printing (3D embossed and silver/copper foil hot stamping), each in sheetlets of 8 stamps, were used on this cover sent on December 3, 2023 (the year 2023 corresponds in Thailand to the year 2566 according to the Buddhist calendar) from this exhibition in Bangkok. Cette série, appelée "Solot" se composait de 6 valeurs nominales, chacune d'un solot, d'un att, d'un siao, d'un sik, d'un fueang et d'un salueng, des unités monétaires utilisées à cette époque avant la décimalisation du baht.
Cette série (500000 timbres imprimés pour chaque timbre) a été imprimée par Waterlow and Sons à Londres et a été émise en 1883, le jour de lancement officiel des service postaux du Royaume de Siam. Ces timbres représentaient le roi Chulalongkorn (Rama V) de profil, regardant à gauche, et ne mentionnaient, ni le pays ni la valeur nominale, dans une écriture internationale.
Cela a nécessité le remplacement de la série en 1887 pour se conformer aux normes de l'Union postale universelle (UPU), à laquelle le Siam avait adhéré en 1885. C'est la seule série à faire référence à chacune des anciennes unités monétaires, les timbres suivants étant uniquement libellés en att.
A noter que le timbre "un fueang" (le timbre en bas à droite sur la l'enveloppe ci-dessus) n'est jamais entré en circulation car il n'a pas été livré à temps pour l'ouverture du service postal... 
This series, called "Solot" consisted of 6 nominal values, each of one solot, one att, one siao, one sik, one fueang and one salueng, monetary units used this time prior to the decimalization of the baht.
This series (500,000 stamps printed for each stamp) was printed by Waterlow and Sons in London and was issued in 1883, on the official launch day of the postal services of the Kingdom of Siam.
These stamps depicted King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in profile, looking to the left, and mentioned neither the country nor the nominal value, in an international script.
This necessitated the replacement of the series in 1887 to conform to the standards of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which Siam had joined in 1885. It is the only series to refer to each of the former monetary units, the following stamps being only denominated in att.
To note that the "one fueang" stamp (the stamp at the bottom right on the envelope above) never entered circulation because it was not delivered in time for the opening of the postal service...

To note these two special cancellations applied to the other side of the envelope above, referring to this 140th anniversary of the creation of postal services and this exhibition "THAILAND 2023 Specialized World Stamp Championship".
The postmark on the left (a paper plane forming a constellation) refers to a Thai Post exhibition inviting the public to board the spacecraft "THP140" to explore the universe with the activity "POSTiverse Tour", a tour of the POST gallery which tells stories throughout the 140 years of activity of the Thai Post, through a slogan "POSTiverse Sends Happiness to Every World".
