"Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic & Paralympic Games" stamps on FDCs from Lithuania

Timbres "Jeux olympiques et paralympiques de Milano Cortina 2026" sur FDCs de Lituanie 

Comme de coutume, la poste lituanienne a mis en circulation, le 5 février 2026, un nouveau timbre consacré à des jeux olympiques, en l'occurrence la 25ème édition des jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026 à Milan et Cortina d'Ampezzo en Italie.
Ce timbre (2€, tirage : 15000), conçu par Natalija Vaišnorienė et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous, avec TAD de Vilnius.
La Lituanie participe en tant qu'état indépendant aux jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis 1928 (Saint-Moritz) et la poste lituanienne avait émis des timbres consacrés à ces jeux d'hiver pour chaque édition depuis 1992 (Albertville), sauf en 2022. La Lituanie avait également participé à ces jeux d'hiver à partir de 1992, les athlètes lituaniens représentant l'URSS entre 1948 et 1988.
As is customary, the Lithuanian Post issued a new stamp on February 5, 2026, dedicated to the Olympic Games—specifically the 25th edition of the Winter Olympics, held from February 6 to 22, 2026, in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
This stamp (€2.00, print run: 15,000), designed by Natalija Vaišnorienė and printed in sheetlet of 10, appears on the official First Day Cover below, with cancellation from Vilnius.
Lithuania has participated in the Winter Olympics as an independent state since 1928 (St. Moritz), and the Lithuanian Post has issued stamps for every edition since 1992 (Albertville), with the exception of 2022.
Lithuania also participated in the Winter Games starting in 1992, whereas Lithuanian athletes had represented the USSR between 1948 and 1988.

Comme pour les éditions précédentes, la Lituanie n'a remporté aucune médaille lors de ces jeux de Milano Cortina 2026, ce qui n'est pas le cas pour ses voisins baltes, Lettonie (2 médailles) et Estonie (1 médaille).

For Milano Cortina, Lithuania fielded a record delegation of 17 athletes (8 men, 9 women) competing in four sports: alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, and figure skating.
As with previous editions, Lithuania did not win any medals at the Milano Cortina 2026 Games—unlike its Baltic neighbors, Latvia (2 medals) and Estonia (1 medal). 

La Lituanie n'avait plus participé à une édition des jeux paralympiques d'hiver depuis 1994 (Lillehammer). Elle a fait son retour lors de la 14ème édition des jeux paralympiques d'hiver, organisée à Milano Cortina du 6 au 15 mars 2026.
Sans doute pour célébrer ce retour, la poste lituanienne a mis en circulation, le 6 mars 2026, un timbre consacré à ces jeux paralympiques de Milano Cortina 2026, le tout premier timbre lituanien ayant pour thème des jeux paralympiques.
Ce timbre (2€, tirage : 15000), également conçu par Natalija Vaišnorienė et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus, avec TAD de Vilnius.
A Milano Cortina, la Lituanie n'était représentée que par un seul athlète, Rapolas Micevičius (né en 1990), engagé dans l'épreuve de snowboard cross (le sport stylisé sur le timbre). Cet athlète a eu la jambe amputée en octobre 2021 après un accident de kitesurf.
Lithuania had not participated in the Winter Paralympics since 1994 (Lillehammer). The country made its return at the 14th edition of the Winter Paralympics, held in Milano Cortina from March 6 to 15, 2026.
Likely to celebrate this return, the Lithuanian Post issued a stamp on March 6, 2026, dedicated to the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympics—the very first Lithuanian stamp themed around the Paralympic Games.
This stamp (€2.00, print run: 15,000)—also designed by Natalija Vaišnorienė and printed in sheetlet of 10—appears on the official First Day Cover above, with postmark from Lithuania.
Lithuania was represented at Milano Cortina by a single athlete, Rapolas Micevičius (born in 1990), who competed in the snowboard cross event (the sport depicted on the stamp). He had undergone a leg amputation in October 2021 following a kitesurfing accident.  

"90 Years as an Olympic Venue: Garmisch-Partenkirchen" postmark on cover from Germany

TAD "90 ans de Garmisch-Partenkirchen comme site olympique" sur lettre d'Allemagne 

Pour marquer le début d'une exposition intitulée "90 ans de Garmisch-Partenkirchen comme site olympique - Se souvenir. Pour l'avenir" organisée du 24 mars au 12 avril 2026 par l'association locale "Briefmarken- und Münzensammlerclub 'Philatelia' e. V." dans le Musée Aschenbrenner, un TAD spécial a été mis en circulation le 24 mars 2026 à Garmisch-Partenkirchen à cette occasion.
Ce TAD a été appliqué sur la lettre ci-dessous, affranchie avec un timbre (1,44€ + 0,56€) faisant partie d'une série de bienfaisance "Pour la jeunesse" (5 timbres, conception : Klein & Neumann) émise le 2 juin 2005, consacrée à différents grands voiliers.
Ce timbre illustre en particulier le navire-école "Deutschland", un trois-mâts construit en 1927 dans l'ancien chantier naval Tecklenborg de Geestemünde (Bremerhaven aujourd'hui). Ancien navire-école de la marine allemande, il a été inscrit dès 1994 au registre des monuments historiques du Land de Brême. Désormais il se trouve au mouillage de la ville de Brême.  
To mark the opening of an exhibition titled "90 Years of Garmisch-Partenkirchen as an Olympic Venue – Remembering. For the Future"—organized from March 24 to April 12, 2026, by the local association "Briefmarken- und Münzensammlerclub 'Philatelia' e.V." at the Aschenbrenner Museum—a special commemorative postmark was issued in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the occasion, on March 24, 2026.
This postmark was applied to the cover below, with a stamp (€1.44 + €0.56) from the "For Youth" charity series (5 stamps, designed by Klein & Neumann) issued on June 2, 2005, and dedicated to various tall ships.
Specifically, the stamp depicts the training ship *Deutschland*, a three-masted vessel built in 1927 at the former Tecklenborg shipyard in Geestemünde (now part of Bremerhaven). Formerly a training ship for the German Navy, it was listed as a historical monument by the State of Bremen in 1994. It is now permanently moored in the city of Bremen.  

Sur ce TAD figure un athlète lors d'une épreuve de saut à ski, inspiré d'un des 3 timbres (reproduits sur l'illustration à gauche sur l'enveloppe) émis par le Reich allemand le 25 novembre 1935 pour annoncer ces 4èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver à Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Curieusement, ces jeux olympiques d'hiver furent, à ce jour, les premiers et derniers jeux organisés par l'Allemagne.
Après leur accession au pouvoir en 1933, le chancelier Adolf Hitler et le Parti nazi décident d'utiliser les jeux olympiques comme outil de propagande à la gloire du Troisième Reich et pour montrer la grandeur de la nation allemande. Ces jeux d'hiver étaient alors considérés comme une "répétition générale" avant les jeux olympiques d'été organisés à Berlin en août 1936.
646 athlètes (dont 566 hommes) de 28 pays participent à ces jeux de Garmisch-Partenkirchen. 17 épreuves officielles réparties en 4 sports sont disputées et la Norvège arrive largement en tête au classement des médailles (15 dont 7 en or) devant l'Allemagne et la Suède.
This special postmark features a ski jumper, an image inspired by one of the three stamps (reproduced in the illustration on the left side of the envelope) issued by the German Reich on November 25, 1935, to announce these 4th Winter Olympic Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Curiously, these Winter Olympics were—to date—the first and last Games hosted by Germany.
After coming to power in 1933, Chancellor Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party decided to use the Olympic Games as a propaganda tool to glorify the Third Reich and showcase the greatness of the German nation. These Winter Games were viewed as a "rehearsal" for the Summer Olympics held in Berlin in August 1936.
A total of 646 athletes (including 566 men) from 28 countries participated in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Games. Seventeen official events across four sports were contested, with Norway finishing well ahead in the medal standings (15 medals, including 7 gold), followed by Germany and Sweden.  

Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay and Shenzhen 2011 Summer Universiade on cover from China

Relais de la flamme olympique Beijing 2008 et Universiades de Shenzhen 2011 sur lettre de Chine 

Le 24 mars 2008, la poste chinoise a mis en circulation une série (2 timbres) consacrée au relais de la flamme olympique, parti le 25 mars 2008 d'Olympie en Grèce, comme de coutume, pour se conclure 130 jours plus tard le 8 août 2008 à Beijing à l'occasion de la cérémonie d'ouverture des 29èmes jeux olympiques d'été.
Cette tradition du relais de la flamme olympique remonte aux jeux olympiques d'été de 1936 à Berlin.
La flamme olympique 2008 a été acheminée à travers plus de 130 villes (dont Paris le 7 avril) des cinq continents, parcourant près de 137000 kilomètres au total. Durant son périple, la torche olympique a été en particulier acheminée sur le "toit du monde", l'Everest. 
Un des 2 timbres de cette série (3 yuan) montre semble-t-il la silhouette de l'Everest avec la torche olympique au 1er plan.
La torche olympique dont la forme est inspirée des rouleaux traditionnels chinois, utilise un motif que l'on trouve sur les anciennes poteries appelés "nuage de bon augure". Conçue par le groupe Lenovo dans un alliage aluminium-magnésium, elle pèse un peu moins de 1kg et mesure 72 cm. 
On March 24, 2008, China Post issued a two-stamp series dedicated to the Olympic torch relay. The relay began—as is customary—in Olympia, Greece, on March 25, 2008, and concluded 130 days later, on August 8, 2008, in Beijing during the opening ceremony of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.
The tradition of the Olympic torch relay dates back to the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
The 2008 Olympic flame traveled through more than 130 cities across five continents (including Paris on April 7), covering a total distance of nearly 137,000 kilometers. During its journey, the Olympic torch was notably carried to the "Roof of the World," Mount Everest.
One of the two stamps in the series (a 3-yuan stamp) appears to depict the silhouette of Mount Everest with the Olympic torch in the foreground.
The Olympic torch, the shape of which is inspired by traditional Chinese scrolls, features a pattern known as the "auspicious cloud," commonly found on ancient pottery. Designed by the Lenovo Group and made from an aluminum-magnesium alloy, it weighs slightly less than 1 kg and measures 72 cm in length.

L'autre timbre (1,20 yuan) représente une des 5 mascottes (fuwa) de ces jeux olympiques de Beijing 2008, Huānhuan (associée à l'élément feu), portant cette flamme olympique, avec la cérémonie d'allumage à 0lympie dans le fond.
Les 2 autres paires de timbres à gauche (conception : Xiao Yong) ont été émises le 4 mai 2011 pour annoncer l'organisation de l'universiade d'été (26ème édition) à Shenzhen, du 12 au 23 août 2011.
Le logo de cette universiade, connu sous le nom de "Happy U", est reproduit sur le timbre en bas à droite (1,20 yuan) et présent en plus petit sur les 4 timbres. Il arbore une forme en "U" dynamique composée de points multicolores et évoque une coupe ouverte et accueillante.
Le stade du centre sportif universitaire de Shenzhen, inauguré en 2011 pour cette compétition, figure sur le timbre en haut à droite (1,20 yuan). Les épreuves de football et athlétisme on eu lieu dans ce stade. 
La mascotte, "UU", une sorte de U souriant, figure sur un de ces 4 timbres (1,20 yuan), le dernier timbre incluant la devise de cette universiade, "Commencez ici", avec une torche dans le fond.
Lors de cette universiade d'été, une compétition internationale multi-sports organisée tous les 2 ans par la Fédération internationale du sport universitaire (FISU), la Chine a largement dominé le classement des médailles (146 au total), devant la Russie, la Corée du sud et le Japon.

The other stamp (1.20 yuan) depicts Huānhuan—one of the five mascots (*Fuwa*) of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, associated with the element of fire—carrying the Olympic flame, with the lighting ceremony in Olympia shown in the background.
The other two pairs of stamps on the left (designed by Xiao Yong) were issued on May 4, 2011, to announce the 26th Summer Universiade, held in Shenzhen from August 12 to 23, 2011.
The Universiade's logo, known as "Happy U," is featured on the bottom-right stamp (1.20 yuan) and appears in a smaller size on all four stamps; it consists of a dynamic "U" shape made of multicolored dots, evoking an open, welcoming cup.
The Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center stadium, inaugurated in 2011 for the event, is depicted on the top-right stamp (1.20 yuan); the stadium hosted the football and athletics competitions.
The mascot "UU"—a smiling "U" figure—appears on one of these four stamps (1.20 yuan), while the final stamp features the event's motto, "Start Here," alongside an image of a torch.
At this Summer Universiade—an international multi-sport event organized every two years by the International University Sports Federation (FISU)—China dominated the medal table by a wide margin, securing a total of 146 medals ahead of Russia, South Korea, and Japan.

La poste estonienne a émis son premier timbre consacré à des jeux olympiques en 1994 et a mis en circulation, le 23 janvier 2026, son 14ème timbre "olympique", consacré en particulier aux 25èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026 à Milan et Cortina d'Ampezzo en Italie. 
L'Estonie participe en tant qu'état indépendant aux jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis 1928 (Saint-Moritz) et la poste estonienne avait émis des timbres consacrés à ces jeux d'hiver pour chaque édition depuis 1994 (Lillehammer). L'Estonie avait également participé à ces jeux d'hiver en 1936 puis à partir de 1992, les athlètes estoniens représentant l'URSS entre 1956 et 1988. 
Ce nouveau timbre (3,90€, tirage : 30000), conçu par Kadri Võsumäe et imprimé en feuille de 25 timbres, figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous, avec TAD de la capitale, Tallinn.

Lors de ces jeux, l'Estonie a remporté une seule médaille, en argent, grâce au jeune Henry Sildaru (né en 2006) en ski acrobatique (halfpipe).
A noter que sa sœur, Kelly Sildaru (née en 2002), avait déjà remporté une médaille de bronze lors des jeux de Beijing en 2022, en ski acrobatique également (ski slopestyle).

Feuillet "Jeux olympiques de Milano Cortina 2026" sur lettre d'Azerbaïdjan 

Sauf erreur, l'administration postale de l'Azerbaïdjan n'avait pas émis de timbre dédié à des jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis les jeux de Nagano en 1998.
Des timbres émis en 1995 pour honorer des médaillés lors des jeux de Lillehammer en 1994 avaient toutefois été surchargés et remis en circulation en 2020.
Après un bloc-feuillet (1 timbre) émis en 2022 à l'occasion des jeux olympiques d'hiver de Beijing, un impressionnant feuillet (9 timbres à 0,5 AZN) a été mis en circulation le 16 mars 2026 (presque 1 mois après la fin de la compétition !), consacré aux 25èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026 à Milan et Cortina d'Ampezzo en Italie. 
Ce feuillet (tirage : 50000, conception : Orkhan Garayev), imprimé en Belgique par Bpost Stamps Production, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 24 avril 2026 depuis Bakou. Merci beaucoup Mahir !
Unless I'm mistaken, the Azerbaijani postal administration hadn't issued any stamp dedicated to the Winter Olympics since the Nagano Games in 1998.
However, stamps issued in 1995 to honor medalists at the 1994 Lillehammer Games were overprinted and reissued in 2020.
Following a souvenir sheet (one stamp) issued in 2022 for the Beijing Winter Olympics, an impressive sheetlet (nine stamps at 0.5 AZN each) was put into circulation on March 16, 2026 (almost a month after the end of the competition!), dedicated to the 25th Olympic Winter Games, held from February 6 to 22, 2026, in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
This sheetlet (print run: 50,000, design: Orkhan Garayev), printed in Belgium by Bpost Stamps Production, was used on the cover below, sent on April 24, 2026, from Baku. Thank you very much, Mahir!  

L'Azerbaïdjan participe aux jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis Nagano en 1998 en tant qu nation indépendante, sans jamais avoir remporté la moindre médaille.
A Milano Cortina, la délégation azerbaïdjanaise était composée de 2 athlètes, Vladimir Litvintsev et Anastasia Papathoma, engagés respectivement en patinage artistique et ski alpin. 
Les timbres de ce feuillet illustre certaines des 16 disciplines au programme de ces jeux : luge, ski de fond, snowboard, biathlon, patinage artistique, short-track, saut à ski, hockey sur glace et skeleton (pas de ski alpin, bobsleigh ou curling...).
Le fond de ces timbres est inspiré de l'identité visuelle de ces jeux de Milano Cortina, conçue à partir du geste humain, incarnant le talent du nouvel "esprit italien", en particulier la passion (tons roses) et l'énergie (tons verts) ici. 
Azerbaijan has participated in the Winter Olympics since Nagano in 1998 as an independent nation, without ever winning a medal.
At the Milano Cortina Games, the Azerbaijani delegation consisted of two athletes, Vladimir Litvintsev and Anastasia Papathoma, competing in figure skating and alpine skiing, respectively.
The stamps in this sheetlet illustrate some of the 16 disciplines featured in these games: luge, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, figure skating, short track speed skating, ski jumping, ice hockey, and skeleton (alpine skiing, bobsleigh, or curling are missing...).
The background of these stamps is inspired by the visual identity of these Milano Cortina Games, designed around human movement, embodying the talent of the new "Italian spirit," particularly passion (pink tones) and energy (green tones) here.

Timbres "Jeux olympiques de Milano Cortina 2026" sur lettre d'Arménie 

Le 18 avril 2026, 2 mois après la fin des jeux (!), la poste arménienne a mis en circulation un timbre consacré aux 25èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026 à Milan et Cortina d'Ampezzo en Italie.
Ce timbre (380 AMD, tirage : 10000) conçu par Vahagn Mkrtchyan et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres (en Belgique par bpost Philately & Stamps Printing), a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée en recommandé le 20 avril 2026 depuis Erevan. Merci beaucoup Sedrak ! 
Ce timbre est plutôt réussi, représentant les anneaux olympiques et des montagnes enneigées se reflétant dans des lunettes de ski, sans toutefois mentionner "Milano Cortina 2026" (mention présente dans les marges du feuillet). 
On April 18, 2026, two months after the Games ended (!), the Armenian Post put into circulation a stamp commemorating the 25th Winter Olympic Games, held from February 6 to 22, 2026, in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
This stamp (380 AMD, print run: 10,000), designed by Vahagn Mkrtchyan and printed in a sheetlet of 10 (in Belgium by bpost Philately & Stamps Printing), was used twice on the cover below, sent by registered mail on April 20, 2026, from Yerevan. Many thanks, Sedrak!
This stamp is quite well done, depicting the Olympic rings and snow-covered mountains reflected in ski goggles, but without mentioning "Milano Cortina 2026" (a mention present in the margins of the sheetlet).

Comme cela est le cas depuis les jeux d'Albertville en 1992, la poste croate a émis à nouveau cette année un timbre consacré aux 25èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026 à Milan et Cortina d'Ampezzo en Italie. 
Ce timbre (1,70€, tirage : 30000) + sa vignette attenante, émis le 6 février 2026, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 7 avril 2026 depuis la ville de Rijeka. Merci beaucoup Dragan !

As has been the case since the Albertville Games in 1992, the Croatian Post has once again issued a stamp this year commemorating the 25th Winter Olympic Games, held from February 6 to 22, 2026, in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.

Le 30 janvier 2026, la poste slovène a mis en circulation une jolie série (2 timbres) consacrée à ces 25èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver de Milano Cortina, organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026.

Ces 2 timbres représentent respectivement des épreuves de ski alpin (tarif "C" pour un envoi standard international - 1,96€ actuellement, tirage : 23000) et de saut à ski (tarif "D" pour un envoi ordinaire international 1ère classe - 2,21€ actuellement, tirage : 30000), les deux sports dans lesquels les athlètes slovènes ont remporté le plus de médailles depuis 1992 (19 médailles sur un total de 28).
Aucune médaille remportée en ski alpin lors de ces jeux de Milano Cortina 2026 mais les 4 médailles slovènes ont toutes été remportées dans des épreuves de saut à ski : or en équipe mixte (Nika Vodan, Nika Prevc, Anže Lanišek, Domen Prevc), or en grand tremplin hommes (Domen Prevc), argent en tremplin normal femmes (Nika Prevc) et bronze en grand tremplin femmes (Nika Prevc).
Les frères et sœurs Nika Prevc et Domen Prevc, héros slovènes de ces jeux, déjà champions du monde à Trondheim en 2025, figuraient sur des timbres émis en leur honneur le 26 septembre 2025. 
Je ne sais pas si la poste slovène va émettre prochainement (comme elle l'a fait pour les jeux précédents) des timbres honorant les champions olympiques à Milano Cortina 2026...  
These two stamps respectively depict alpine skiing (rate "C" for standard international mail - currently €1.96, print run: 23,000) and ski jumping (rate "D" for ordinary international first-class mail - currently €2.21, print run: 30,000), the two sports in which Slovenian athletes have won the most medals since 1992 (19 medals out of a total of 28).
No medals were won in alpine skiing at the Milano Cortina 2026 Games, but all four Slovenian medals have been won in ski jumping events: gold in the mixed team event (Nika Vodan, Nika Prevc, Anže Lanišek, Domen Prevc), gold in the men's large hill (Domen Prevc), silver in the women's normal hill (Nika Prevc), and bronze in the women's large hill (Nika Prevc).
The siblings Nika Prevc and Domen Prevc, Slovenian heroes of these Games and already world champions in Trondheim in 2025, were featured on stamps issued in their honor on September 26, 2025.
I don't know if the Slovenian Post will soon issue (as it did for previous Games) stamps honoring the Olympic champions in Milano Cortina 2026...  

Roald Dahl, 2012 Olympic champion, UPU 100th anniversary stamps on cover from Great Britain

Roald Dahl, champion olympique 2012, 100 ans de l'UPU sur lettre de Grande-Bretagne 

D'origine norvégienne, le célèbre écrivain et scénariste britannique Roald Dahl (1916-1990) se lance en 1961 dans la littérature pour la jeunesse avec "James et la grosse pêche", imaginé pour ses cinq enfants, à qui il raconte chaque soir une nouvelle histoire.
Mais c'est sûrement avec son livre "Charlie et la chocolaterie" que vous avez d'abord entendu parlé de lui, grâce à l'adaptation cinématographique de Tim Burton.
Le 10 janvier 2012, la Royal Mail a mis en circulation une intéressante série (6 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) consacrée à différents livres pour enfants de Roald Dahl, illustrés par Quentin Blake.
Deux timbres identiques (0,76£) extraits du bloc-feuillet ont été utilisés en bas à droite sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 22 janvier 2026 depuis la ville de Northwich. Ces 2 timbres illustrent un scène de l'ouvrage "Le Bon Gros Géant" ("The BFG"), roman écrit par Roald Dahl en 1982. 
Ce roman raconte l'histoire de Sophie, une fillette orpheline de 8 ans, qui, un soir, est enlevée par un géant. Loin de manger des enfants comme elle le croyait, le géant lui explique, parlant de façon étrange, qu'il souffle des rêves dans les oreilles des enfants...

On January 10, 2012, the Royal Mail issued an interesting series (6 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) dedicated to various children's books by Roald Dahl, illustrated by Quentin Blake.
Two identical stamps (£0.76) from the souvenir sheet have been used in the lower right corner of the cover below, sent on January 22, 2026, from the town of Northwich.
These two stamps illustrate a scene from "The BFG" ("The Big Friendly Giant"), a novel written by Roald Dahl in 1982.
The novel tells the story of Sophie, an eight-year-old orphan girl, who is kidnapped one night by a giant. Far from eating children as she believed, the giant explains to her, speaking strangely, that he blows dreams into children's ears...  

Les 2 timbres identiques en haut à droite (0,08£, conception : Rosalin Dease) font parti d'une série (4 timbres) émise le 12 juin 1974, consacrée au 100ème anniversaire de l'UPU et en particulier au développement du transport postal vers l'étranger.
Ce timbre montre en particulier un van postal bleu et une boîte aux lettres bleue en service dans les années 1930 au Royaume-Uni pour la poste aérienne (un TAD "Airmail" de Londres du 27 février 1931 est reproduit sur le timbre).
Lors des jeux olympiques de Londres en 2012 à domicile, l'équipe britannique a remporté un nombre record de médailles depuis les jeux de Londres en 1908, avec un total de 65 médailles dont 29 en or.
Le 2 août 2012, la Royal Mail a émis 29 timbres pour honorer ces 29 médailles d'or dont un (1st Local) consacré au kayakiste Edward McKeever, champion olympique en K1 200 m (course en ligne), utilisé en haut à gauche sur l'enveloppe ci-dessus.
Un dernier timbre (0,02£) de type Machin (profil de la reine Élisabeth II), version autocollante avec code matriciel, faisant partie d'une série (7 timbres) émise le 4 avril 2022, a été utilisé. 
Les premiers timbres de ce type (conçus par Arnold Machin) ont été émis en 1967 et ont évolué jusqu'au décès de la reine en 2022 avec, en particulier, l'ajout de différents éléments de sécurité.

This stamp specifically depicts a blue postal van and a blue postbox used in the UK during the 1930s for airmail (a London Airmail postmark dated February 27, 1931, is reproduced on the stamp).

Du 6 au 15 mars 2026, l'Italie organisait sur les mêmes sites la 14ème édition des jeux paralympiques d'hiver. 
Le 23 janvier 2026, la poste slovaque a mis en circulation 2 timbres se-tenant (1,40€, tirage : 125000 chacun), imprimés dans une même feuille composée de 50 timbres (25 de chaque) consacrés respectivement à ces jeux olympiques et paralympiques de Milano Cortina 2026. 
Ces 2 timbres, conçus par Karol Felix, ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 10 mars 2026 depuis la petite ville de Rožňavské Bystré (centre-est du pays). Merci beaucoup Miloš !

Pour la première fois depuis 2002, la Slovaquie n'a remporté aucune médaille à Milano Cortina. Cependant, l'équipe masculine de hockey sur glace a terminé à une belle 4ème place dans le tournoi olympique (battue par la Finlande dans le match pour la 3ème place).
Le timbre ci-dessus à gauche fait appel à notre nostalgie grâce au patineur artistique Karol Divín (1936-2022), médaille d'argent lors des jeux olympiques d'hiver en 1960 à Squaw Valley. Il est représenté sur le timbre lors des championnats d'Europe en 1958 à Bratislava.
27 athlètes slovaques (23 hommes, 4 femmes) étaient engagés dans 6 sports (ski alpin, para-hockey sur glace, curling en fauteuil, snowboard, biathlon, ski de fond) lors de ces jeux paralympiques.
3 médailles de bronze ont été remportées par Alexandra Rexová (et sa guide Sophia Polak) en ski alpin (descente, super G, slalom) dans la catégorie des malvoyants.
Le timbre est consacré à l'équipe slovaque mixte engagée en curling en fauteuil, qui a terminé le tournoi paralympique à la 8ème place. 
Milos a également utilisé deux timbres identiques (0,20€), émis le 4 janvier 2021, faisant partie d'une série courante consacrée aux arts appliqués, un verre de la collection Golden Suzanne (verrerie de Zlatno) ici.

For the first time since 2002, Slovakia did not win any medals in Milano Cortina. However, the men's ice hockey team finished in a respectable fourth place in the Olympic tournament (losing to Finland in the bronze medal match).
The stamp above left evokes a sense of nostalgia thanks to figure skater Karol Divín (1936-2022), silver medalist at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley. He is depicted on the stamp at the 1958 European Championships in Bratislava.
27 Slovak athletes (23 men, 4 women) competed in six sports (alpine skiing, para ice hockey, wheelchair curling, snowboarding, biathlon, and cross-country skiing) at these Paralympic Games. Three bronze medals were won by Alexandra Rexová (and her guide Sophia Polak) in alpine skiing (downhill, super-G, and slalom) in the visually impaired category.
The stamp features the Slovak mixed wheelchair curling team, which finished the Paralympic tournament in the 8th rank. 
Milos also used two identical stamps (€0.20), issued on January 4, 2021, part of a definitive series dedicated to applied arts, a glass from the Golden Suzanne collection (Zlatno glass factory) here.

Le 6 mars 2026, jour de la cérémonie d'ouverture, la poste polonaise a ainsi mis en circulation un timbre consacré à la participation du pays aux jeux paralympiques d'hiver de Milano Cortina (Italie), organisés du 6 au 15 mars 2026. 
Ce timbre (tarif permanent "B" - 5,80 PLN, tirage : 63000), imprimé en feuillet de 9 timbres, figure en 2 exemplaires sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous (avec TAD "Flocon de neige" de Varsovie), envoyé le 16 mars 2026 depuis la ville de Nowy Sącz. Merci beaucoup Andrzej !

The Polish Post is one of the few postal administrations in the world to issue stamps dedicated to the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, a practice that began with the Rio 2016 Games.
On March 6, 2026, the day of the opening ceremony, the Polish Post released a stamp commemorating the country's participation in the Milano Cortina Winter Paralympic Games (Italy), held from March 6 to 15, 2026.

This Look is a unique visual system characterized by bold symbols, vibrant colors, and dynamic shapes.
Each "Vibe" is composed of a gradient of colors, from blue to magenta and light blue, then to green, turquoise, and yellow. What is striking are the luminous graphic symbols, drawn with fluid and dynamic white lines, that flow across the image in a continuous movement. A noter qu'aucun timbre n'avait été émis en 2022 pour les jeux olympiques d'hiver de Beijing, surprenant pour une grande nation de sports d'hiver comme la Suisse...

On January 22, 2026, the Swiss Post put into circulation a stamp to support the Swiss Olympic team competing in the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics (Italy), held from February 6 to 22, 2026.
It's worth noting that no stamp was issued in 2022 for the Beijing Winter Olympics, a surprising omission for a major winter sports nation like Switzerland...
At the Milano Cortina 2026 Games, the Swiss delegation (91 men, 84 women), competing in 14 sports (all except Nordic combined and short track speed skating), achieved its best-ever result, winning a total of 23 medals (6 gold, 9 silver, 8 bronze) across 8 different sports.

Jürgen a utilisé d'autres timbres courants pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe jusqu'à 20g (1,90 CHF), en particulier 2 timbres (0,05 CHF, 0,60 CHF) faisant partie de la jolie série courante (12 timbres, conception : K. Oberli, gravure : M. Muller) émise entre 1986 et 1989, représentant différentes étapes du traitement et transport du courrier, de façon contemporaine ou plus ancienne.
This stamp, featuring the emblem of the Swiss Olympic team (national flag + Olympic rings), was designed like a mini comic strip, where each panel illustrates a specific moment. The aim was to represent the pressure, concentration, speed, and adrenaline, but also the context of the competition, such as the weather, the fans, the medal ceremony, and the surrounding environment. 
Jürgen used other definitive stamps to reach the current rate for a shipment within Europe up to 20g (CHF 1.90), in particular two stamps (CHF 0.05, CHF 0.60) belonging to the nice definitive series (12 stamps, design: K. Oberli, engraving: M. Muller) issued between 1986 and 1989, featuring different stages of mail processing and transport, in a contemporary or older way.

Sans doute pour célébrer les premiers jeux olympiques de l'histoire organisés en Amérique du sud, le thème choisi en 2016 pour les émissions de timbres América-UPAEP était intitulé "Jeux olympiques".
Un thème plus festif que la "lutte contre la traite des êtres humains" en 2015...
Pour rappel, l'UPAEP (Union Postale des Amériques, de l'Espagne et du Portugal) est une union restreinte de l'UPU, créée en 1911, regroupant une trentaine de pays et territoires.
A l'image des timbres EUROPA, des timbres UPAEP sont émis chaque année depuis 1989, par une quinzaine de pays, sur un thème commun.
La poste du Paraguay a émis chaque année depuis 1989 des timbres UPAEP, ce qui fut le cas le 29 juillet 2016 avec un timbre émis sous forme de bloc-feuillet, illustrant ce thème des jeux olympiques.
Ce timbre (4000 PYG, tirage : 5000), incluant le logo UPAEP en bas à gauche, figure sur le FDC ci-dessous. 
Probably to celebrate the first Olympic Games ever held in South America, the theme chosen for the 2016 América-UPAEP stamp issues was "Olympic Games".
A more festive theme than "the fight against human trafficking" in 2015...
As a reminder, UPAEP (Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal) is a restricted union of the UPU, established in 1911, bringing together about thirty countries and territories.
Like EUROPA stamps, UPAEP stamps are issued each year since 1989 by around fifteen countries, on a common theme. 
The Paraguayan postal service has issued UPAEP stamps every year since 1989, as was the case on July 29, 2016, with a stamp issued as a souvenir sheet illustrating this "Olympic Games" theme.
This stamp (4,000 PYG, print run: 5,000), including the UPAEP logo in the bottom left corner, is present on the FDC below.

This stamp depicts the emblem of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee. Strangely, Paraguay, independent since 1811 (recognized in 1842), has only participated in the Summer Olympics since 1968 (Mexico City) and has made only one appearance at the Winter Olympics, in 2014 (Sochi).
In 14 appearances at the Summer Olympics, Paraguay has won only one medal, a silver, thanks to the men's football team, after a 1-0 defeat in the final against Argentina in Athens in 2004.

Dans le cadre des jeux olympiques d'été organisés à Beijing du 8 au 24 août 2008, Olympex - la plus grande exposition de timbres, monnaies, objets souvenirs et articles de collection liés aux jeux olympiques - avait lieu à partir du 7 août 2008, dans le Centre des expositions de Beijing.
Fruit de la collaboration entre le Comité International Olympique (CIO), le comité d'organisation des jeux olympiques de 2008 à Beijing, le Comité Olympique Chinois et l'administration postale chinoise, cette exposition était un des points forts du programme culturel de ces jeux.
Le 8 août 2008, la poste chinoise a mis en circulation une série (2 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet, conception : Ma Gang) célébrant l'ouverture de cette exposition Olympex.
Les 2 timbres de cette série (1,20 yuan, conception : Ma Gang) ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 30 octobre 2025 depuis Beijing. Merci beaucoup Ruinan !

As part of the Summer Olympic Games held in Beijing from August 8 to 24, 2008, Olympex - the largest exhibition of stamps, coins, souvenirs, and collectibles related to the Olympic Games - opened on August 7, 2008, at the Beijing Exhibition Center.
A collaborative effort between the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Beijing 2008 Organizing Committee, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and the China Postal Administration, this exhibition was a highlight of the Games' cultural program.
On August 8, 2008, the China Post issued a series (2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet, design: Ma Gang) commemorating the opening of Olympex.

The date of August 8, 2008, and the time of the opening ceremony's broadcast, 8:08 PM (local time), were chosen to incorporate as many eights as possible, as this number is considered lucky in China. 

Ces 2 timbres reproduisent des timbres anciens ayant pour thème les jeux olympiques, émis respectivement par le Grèce (le 25 mars 1896, statue reconstituée de la Victoire de Paionios, musée archéologique d'Olympie) et par le Portugal (le 22 mai 1928 pour annoncer les jeux olympiques d'Amsterdam).
Ruinan a utilisé à gauche une série (2 timbres, 1,20 yuan, conception : Shang Yu), émise le 18 février 2009, consacrée à la 24ème édition de l'Universiade d'hiver (logo et mascotte Dongdong), compétition internationale universitaire multi-sports, organisée du 17 au 28 février 2009 à Harbin, en Chine. Au total, 1658 athlètes issus de 44 nations ont pris part aux différentes épreuves (12 sports), la Chine ayant terminé en tête du classement des médailles devant la Russie et la Corée du Sud.
Le dernier timbre (1,20 yuan) fait partie d'une série (4 timbres, conception : Hu Fuzong) émise le 24 juin 2018, intitulée "Intégrité et probité", illustrant les actes exemplaires de fonctionnaires incorruptibles et disciplinés de la Chine ancienne à travers quatre scènes historiques.
Ce timbre, "Proclamation de refus de présents", évoque une histoire se déroulant au début de la dynastie Qing. Yu Chenglong était un fonctionnaire renommé de cette époque. Durant ses 24 années de service, il gagna l'amour et le respect du peuple et reçut les plus grands éloges de l'empereur Kangxi pour ses remarquables accomplissements politiques et sa vie exemplaire, marquée par l'incorruptibilité et le labeur.
Un jour de Fête de la Mi-Automne, le magistrat du comté de Daming lui fit parvenir un précieux présent en secret. Yu Chenglong non seulement le refusa catégoriquement sur-le-champ, mais publia également un avis public intitulé "Proclamation interdisant formellement les cadeaux", ordonnant sévèrement à tous ses subordonnés de s'abstenir d'offrir des présents ou de verser des pots-de-vin. These two stamps reproduce old stamps with an Olympic theme, issued respectively by Greece (March 25, 1896, reconstructed statue of the Victory of Paionios, Archaeological Museum of Olympia) and by Portugal (May 22, 1928, to announce the Amsterdam Olympic Games).
Ruinan used, on the left, a series (2 stamps, 1.20 yuan, design: Shang Yu), issued on February 18, 2009, dedicated to the 24th Winter Universiade (logo and mascot Dongdong), an international university multi-sport competition held from February 17 to 28, 2009, in Harbin, China. A total of 1,658 athletes from 44 nations participated in the various events (12 sports), with China topping the medal standings ahead of Russia and South Korea. 
The last stamp (1.20 yuan) is part of a series (four stamps, designed by Hu Fuzong) issued on June 24, 2018, entitled "Integrity and Probity," illustrating the exemplary actions of incorruptible and disciplined officials in ancient China through four historical scenes.
This stamp, "Issuing a Proclamation to Refuse Gifts", depicts a story set in the early Qing Dynasty. Yu Chenglong was a famous official in the early Qing Dynasty. During his 24 years of serving as an official, he won deep love and respect from the people and high praise from Emperor Kangxi for his outstanding political achievements and his life of being incorruptible and hardworking.
One Mid-Autumn Festival, the magistrate of Daming County privately sent a valuable gift to him. Yu Chenglong not only resolutely refused it on the spot but also issued a public notice titled Proclamation on Strictly Banning Gift-Giving, sternly ordering all subordinate officials not to give gifts or offer bribes. He warned that anyone who violated this rule again would not be forgiven...

Depuis sa première participation à des jeux olympiques d'hiver en 1984 (Sarajevo), la principauté de Monaco n'a engagé des athlètes que dans 2 disciplines : le bobsleigh et le ski alpin.
Lors des jeux olympiques d'hiver de Milano Cortina (Italie), organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026, la délégation monégasque n'était composée que d'un athlète, Arnaud Alessandria (né en 1993), engagé dans des épreuves de ski alpin (descente et Super-G), la plus petite délégation depuis 1984.
Monaco a la particularité d'être le pays ayant participé au plus grand nombre de jeux olympiques d'été et d'hiver (34 éditions) sans avoir jamais remporté la moindre médaille...

Le 5 février 2026, l'Office des timbres de Monaco a mis en circulation un timbre spécial (1,52€, tirage : 40000) consacré à ces jeux olympiques d'hiver de Milano Cortina 2026.
C'est ce timbre (conception : Alain Giampaoli), imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, qui figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus, avec illustration à gauche représentant le palais princier.
Ce timbre inclut l'emblème du comité olympique monégasque et représente des athlètes dans des épreuves de patinage artistique, bobsleigh (à 2) et ski alpin. 
Pour rappel, le prince Albert II de Monaco (président du comité olympique monégasque depuis 1985) a participé aux jeux olympiques d'hiver de 1988, 1992, 1994, 1998 et 2002 en tant que membre de l'équipe monégasque de bobsleigh.

Le 27 janvier 2026, la poste ukrainienne a mis en circulation un très joli bloc-feuillet, composé de 4 timbres (4 x U -  24 UAH), afin d'encourager l'équipe olympique d'Ukraine ("Олімпійська команда України") lors des jeux olympiques d'hiver de Milano Cortina (Italie), organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026.
Intitulé "L'esprit et la force de l'Ukraine", ce bloc-feuillet (conception : Volodymyra Tarana, tirage : 55200) figure sur le FDC ci-dessous (tirage de l'enveloppe mise en circulation le 26 décembre 2025 : 15000) avec TAD de Kyïv. Merci beaucoup Roman !
L'emblème du comité olympique ukrainien est présent sur chaque timbre, sur le TAD et l'enveloppe, ainsi que dans la marge du bloc-feuillet à gauche, les montagnes des Alpes italiennes figurant dans le fond.

On January 27, 2026, the Ukrainian Post issued a very attractive souvenir sheet, composed of four stamps (4 x U - 24 UAH), to support the Ukrainian Olympic Team ("Олімпійська команда України") at the Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, Italy, held from February 6 to 22, 2026.
Entitled "Spirit and Strength of Ukraine", this souvenir sheet (designed by Volodymyra Tarana, print run: 55,200) is present on the first day cover below (print run of the envelope issued on December 26, 2025: 15,000) with cancellations from Kyiv. Thank you very much, Roman!
The emblem of the Ukrainian Olympic Committee appears on each stamp, on the postmarks and the envelope, and in the margin of the souvenir sheet on the left, with the Italian Alps in the background.
Four of the eleven sports in which Ukrainian athletes (25 men, 21 women) competed at Milano Cortina 2026 are featured on these stamps: figure skating (Kyrylo Marsak), luge (6 men, 4 women), aerials (4 men, 5 women), and biathlon (5 men, 5 women).  

Dans le contexte de l'agression russe en cours, les athlètes ukrainiens se sont préparés pour les jeux olympiques dans des conditions extrêmement difficiles, en temps de guerre.

In the context of the ongoing Russian aggression, Ukrainian athletes prepared for the Olympic Games under extremely difficult conditions, in a time of war.
Despite all the challenges, Ukrainian sport continues to develop and reveal new talent. Through the achievements of these athletes, the world is discovering the character of the Ukrainian nation: resilience, hard work, and the ability to move forward.
The Ukrainian national team participates in the Olympic and Paralympic Games under the flag of a country that understands the value of freedom, forged in struggle and unity.
In Milano Cortina, Ukrainian athletes did not win any medals but showed the world their strength of character and courage.
The International Olympic Committee unjustly disqualified Vladyslav Heraskevych (skeleton) for continuing to wear a helmet adorned with images of athletes killed during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He received the Order of Freedom award from President Zelensky on February 14, 2026. Glory to Ukraine and good luck at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Games!

Le 6 février 2026, jour de la cérémonie d'ouverture, la poste polonaise a mis en circulation un timbre consacré à la participation du pays aux jeux olympiques d'hiver de Milano Cortina (Italie), organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026.
Ce timbre (tarif permanent "B" - 5,80 PLN, tirage : 63000), imprimé en feuillet de 9 timbres, figure en 2 exemplaires sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous (avec TAD "Flocon de neige" de Varsovie), envoyé le 11 février 2026 depuis la ville de Nowy Sącz. Merci beaucoup Andrzej !
Ce timbre, conçu en collaboration avec le comité olympique polonais, s'inspire de photographies de Szymon Sikora prises lors d'une séance photo spéciale avec les athlètes sélectionnés pour l'équipe olympique polonaise. 
Le timbre représente en particulier trois disciplines hivernales : le patinage de vitesse, le ski alpin et le biathlon. Les athlètes mis à l'honneur sont respectivement Kaja Ziomek-Nogal, Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel et Konrad Badacz.

This stamp, designed in collaboration with the Polish Olympic Committee, is based on photographs by Szymon Sikora taken during a special photo shoot with the athletes selected for the Polish Olympic team.
The stamp specifically depicts three winter sports: speed skating, alpine skiing, and biathlon. The athletes being honored are respectively Kaja Ziomek-Nogal, Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel and Konrad Badacz.

La poste polonaise va également émettre, le 6 mars 2026, un timbre consacré aux jeux paralympiques de Milano Cortina 2026. La poste polonaise est ainsi l'une des rares administrations postales dans le monde à émettre des timbres consacrés aux jeux paralympiques d'été et d'hiver, ce qui est le cas depuis les jeux de Rio 2016.

Les Fuwa ("enfant de bonne fortune") sont les mascottes officielles des Jeux olympiques d'été de 2008 à Beijing, dévoilées le 11 novembre 2005, marquant le 1000ème jour précédent l'ouverture de la compétition. 
To promote the Summer Olympics held in Beijing from August 8 to 24, 2008, the Chinese postal administration issued several series of stamps between 2001 and 2008, including one (six stamps) issued on August 8, 2007, depicting various Olympic sports practiced by the five official mascots of the Games.
These six stamps (1.20 yuan, design: Ma Gang), featuring the official logo of the Beijing 2008 Games in the upper left corner, have been used on the cover below, sent on November 29, 2025, from Beijing. Thank you very much, Ruinan!
The Fuwa ("good-luck dolls") were the official mascots of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, unveiled on November 11, 2005, marking the 1000th day before the opening of the Games.  

Chacune des cinq fuwa représente la couleur d'un des cinq anneaux olympiques et sa coiffe rappelle un élément naturel : Bèibei (plongeon) est une mascotte bleue sous les traits d'un poisson qui représente les sports aquatiques et la mer, Jīngjing (tir et haltérophilie) est une mascotte noire sous les traits d'un panda qui représente les sports de combat et la forêt, Huānhuan (BMX) est une mascotte rouge sous les traits de la flamme olympique qui représente les sports de balles et le feu, Yíngying (saut à la perche) est une mascotte jaune sous les traits d'une antilope du Tibet qui représente l'athlétisme et la terre, Nīni (volley-ball) est une mascotte verte sous les traits d'une hirondelle qui représente la gymnastique et le ciel.
En reprenant la première syllabe de chaque nom de mascotte, on obtient une prononciation proche de "Běijīng huānyíng nǐ", c'est-à-dire "Bienvenue à Beijing".
Each of the five Fuwa represents the color of one of the five Olympic rings, and their headdress evokes a natural element: Bèibei (diving) is a blue mascot in the form of a fish, representing water sports and the sea; Jīngjing (shooting and weightlifting) is a black mascot in the form of a panda, representing combat sports and the forest; Huānhuan (BMX) is a red mascot in the form of the Olympic flame, representing ball sports and fire; Yíngying (pole vault) is a yellow mascot in the form of a Tibetan antelope, representing athletics and the earth; and Nīni (volleyball) is a green mascot in the form of a swallow, representing gymnastics and the sky.
By taking the first syllable of each mascot name, we obtain a pronunciation close to "Běijīng huānyíng nǐ", that is to say "Welcome to Beijing".  

"Ethnic groups of Moldova - Polish people" stamp on FDC from Moldova

Timbre "Groupes ethniques de Moldavie - Polonais" sur FDC de Moldavie 

Sauf erreur de ma part, la poste moldave a mis en circulation, le 15 août 2025, le 5ème timbre d'une série consacrée aux différents groupes ethniques recensés dans le pays, avec un focus cette fois sur la communauté d'origine polonaise.
Quatre timbres ont déjà été émis dans cette série initiée en 2017, consacrés respectivement aux groupes ethniques gagaouzes, roms, ukrainiens et bulgares.
Ce nouveau timbre (5 L, tirage : 50000), conçu par Oleg Cojocari et imprimé en feuillet de 8 timbres, est présent sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 200), avec TAD de Chişinău (MD-2012). Merci beaucoup Nicolae !
Comme les timbres précédents de cette série, ce nouveau timbre représente un couple polonais en costume traditionnel. 
Unless I'm mistaken, the Post of Moldova issued the fifth stamp in a series dedicated to the country's various ethnic groups on August 15, 2025, this time focusing on the Polish community. 
Four stamps have already been issued in this series, which began in 2017, dedicated to the Gagauz, Roma, Ukrainian, and Bulgarian ethnic groups, respectively.
This new stamp (5 L, print run: 50,000), designed by Oleg Cojocari and printed in a sheetlet of eight, is featured on the official First Day Cover below (print run: 200), with cancellation from Chișinău (MD-2012). Thank you very much, Nicolae!
Like the previous stamps in this series, this new stamp depicts a Polish couple in traditional dress.  

Les polonais sont arrivés sur le territoire de l'actuelle Moldavie il y a plusieurs siècles et, dès le 19ème siècle, en Bessarabie, des familles aristocratiques polonaises occupaient une place importante dans la société. La plupart des polonais vivant aujourd'hui en Moldavie sont des descendants de réfugiés, dont beaucoup appartenaient à la petite noblesse polonaise. 
Les polonais constituent aujourd'hui une minorité ethnique en République de Moldavie. Ils étaient 4174 personnes lors du recensement de 2004, soit 0,1 % de la population totale.
Les polonais vivent principalement dans les grandes villes de Bălți (20,6 % de la population totale), Chişinău (20,0 %) et Tiraspol (7,7 %), mais aussi dans les districts de Ribnita (12,6 %), Camenca (10,7 %) et Glodeni (4,2 %). Les 24,2 % restants sont dispersés et peu nombreux.
La seule localité de Moldavie où les Polonais sont présents en proportion significative est Slobozia-Rașcov, en Transnistrie. 
Poles arrived in the territory of present-day Moldova several centuries ago, and by the 19th century, in Bessarabia, Polish aristocratic families held a prominent place in society. Most Poles living in Moldova today are descendants of refugees, many of whom belonged to the Polish gentry.
Poles constitute today an ethnic minority in the Republic of Moldova. They numbered 4,174 at the 2004 census, representing 0.1% of the total population.
Poles live primarily in the major cities of Bălți (20.6% of the total population), Chișinău (20.0%), and Tiraspol (7.7%), but also in the districts of Ribnita (12.6%), Camenca (10.7%), and Glodeni (4.2%). The remaining 24.2% are scattered and few in number.
The only locality in Moldova where Poles are present in significant proportion is Slobozia-Rașcov, in Transnistria.

Ce timbre "tir à l'arc" (tirage : 160000) fait partie d'une série (2 timbres), conçue par Eugeniu Verebceanu à partir d'illustrations de Iurii Palcov, émise le 26 juillet 2024, consacrée aux jeux olympiques de Paris 2024.
Le nouvel emblème du comité national olympique et sportif moldave ainsi que la mention "Paris 2024" (sans le logo officiel de ces jeux) figurent sur ces 2 timbres. 
Nicolae completed his postage to reach the current rate for sending a letter up to 20g to France (12 L), notably with a stamp (5.20 L) used above on the right on the other side of the envelope.
This "archery" stamp (print run: 160,000) is part of a series (2 stamps) designed by Eugeniu Verebceanu based on illustrations by Iurii Palcov, issued on July 26, 2024, dedicated to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The new emblem of the Moldovan National Olympic and Sports Committee, as well as the inscription "Paris 2024" (without the official logo of these Games), are featured on these two stamps.
