EUROPA 1994 (Great Discoveries) souvenir sheet and stamp set on covers from Albania

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
Albania was one of the 49 European countries or territories to issue EUROPA stamps in 1994—specifically on December 12—featuring then the theme of "Great Discoveries".
As a reminder, Albania issued its first CEPT-EUROPA stamps in 1992 (marking the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the Americas); a new EUROPA logo was created in 1993 (when PostEurop replaced the CEPT) and appeared for the first time on the EUROPA stamps released that year (featuring contemporary art).
On December 12, 1994, the Albanian Post released two stamps and a souvenir sheet (designed by M. Temo); curiously, the word "EUROPA" appeared only on the souvenir sheet, though without the official logo.
This imperforate souvenir sheet (150 ALL, unknown print run) was used on the first cover below, sent from Tirana on July 9, 2026. Many thanks, Sabri!

The style of this souvenir sheet is somewhat abstract but undoubtedly pays tribute to the work of Gjovalin Gjadri (1898–1974)—an Albanian engineer and academic known for major structural designs such as bridges—and Carl Ritter von Ghega (1802–1860)—an Austrian railway designer famous for planning the Semmering railway line. Both men are featured on the two stamps in this 1994 EUROPA series (print run: 90,000 each) below.
One could indeed interpret the design as a sketch of a road and bridge spanning a stylized river...
Gjovalin Gjadri (50 ALL) was a professor, engineer, and builder, as well as a key figure in bridge design and construction in Albania. He is regarded as the engineer who introduced the most innovative and contemporary bridge-building methods to Albania; furthermore, alongside other renowned Albanian scholars such as Aleks Buda and Aleksander Xhuvani, he was a founder of the Institute of Sciences, established in the years immediately following Albania's liberation.

Gjovalin Gjadri was also the principal founder of the Chair of Strength of Materials at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
He built the Mati, Prenkova, Mbrostar, and Rrogozhina bridges, as well as the bridge on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard in Tirana.
The other stamp (100 ALL) pays tribute to Carl Ritter von Ghega, an Austrian engineer of Albanian descent—notably the builder of the Semmering railway line between Gloggnitz and Mürzzuschlag, the first standard-gauge mountain railway built in Europe.
The Semmering railway (41 km) was built between 1848 and 1854 by some 20,000 workers. The structure comprises 14 tunnels, 16 viaducts (including several double-decker ones), as well as over 100 masonry bridges and 11 small iron bridges.
Since 1998, this line has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

"UEFA EURO 2024" stamp on FDC from Albania

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
The 17th edition of the European Football Championship ("UEFA EURO 2024") took place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024—the day of the final match between Spain and England (won 2–1 by Spain).
Germany hosted the tournament for the first time since reunification. Across ten host cities—Berlin, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart—24 national teams competed for the Henri Delaunay Trophy, depicted on the right side of the Albanian stamp issued on February 20, 2026, two years after the tournament...
This stamp (190 ALL, designed by A. Baboçi) appears on the official First Day Cover below (print run: 200), sent from Tirana on March 15, 2026. Many thanks, Sabri!

The Berlin Olympic Stadium, where the final took place, is featured on this envelope, alongside a logo on the left (distinct from the official EURO 2024 logo) featuring the Henri Delaunay Trophy and 16 flags—including Albania's—among the 24 participating nations.
For the second time in its history (after 2016 in France), the Albanian national team had qualified for this competition.
During this EURO, Albania unfortunately failed to qualify for the round of 16, finishing fourth in a very tough group with Spain, Croatia, and Italy.
Other postal administrations also issued stamps dedicated to this EURO 2024: Germany, Monaco, Romania, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Northern Cyprus.
The next edition of the EURO will take place in 2028 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

EUROPA 1993 (Contemporary Art) stamp set on cover from Albania

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
Since 1993, the Association of European public postal operators PostEurop has been managing EUROPA stamp issues, then replacing the CEPT (European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations).
A new EUROPA logo was created and appeared for the first time on these EUROPA stamps put into circulation in 1993, devoted to the theme of contemporary art.
Albania was one of the 46 countries or European territories that issued EUROPA stamps in 1993, on May 28 precisely. As a reminder, Albania issued its first CEPT-EUROPA stamps in 1992 (500 years since the discovery of America).
On May 28, 1993, the Albanian Post then released two stamps and one souvenir sheet reproducing various works by contemporary Albanian painters, but with an incorrect EUROPA logo, featuring a V instead of a U.
The two stamps from this EUROPA set (print run: 50,000), each printed in sheetlets of five stamps and one label, have been used on the left side of the cover below, sent on March 1, 2026, from Tirana. Thank you very much, Sabri!

The first stamp (3 ALL) reproduces a work by the painter Agim Zajmi entitled "The Heavy Stone in Its Place" (1981). This powerful work depicts the figure of a mountain sage, expressing inner strength, solitude, and a profound connection to the land.
The monumental figure dominates the composition, enveloped in dark, organic forms that suggest both protection and isolation. This painting creates an introspective and profound atmosphere, making it a prized piece for collectors of figurative and expressive Balkan art.
The other stamp (7 ALL) is more mysterious, featuring a work entitled "Green Star" by the painter Edi Hila.
Sabri also used two stamps (70 ALL, print run: 8,000) as part of a beautiful souvenir sheet of five triangular stamps, issued on November 17, 2005, dedicated to Albanian flora and, in particular, to various species of the genus Portulaca.

"Albania at EURO 2024" souvenir sheet and stamp set on covers from Albania

The 17th edition of the European Football Championship ("UEFA EURO 2024") took place in Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024, the day of the final between Spain and England.
For the first time since reunification, Germany hosted this competition. In the ten host cities of Berlin, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart, 24 national teams determined the winner of the Henri Delaunay Trophy.

For the second time in its history (after 2016 in France), the Albanian national team had qualified for this competition.
During this EURO, Albania unfortunately failed to qualify for the round of 16, finishing fourth in a very tough group with Spain, Croatia, and Italy.

On February 24, 2026 (!), the Albanian Post released a series (2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) commemorating the Albanian national team's participation in the EURO 2024 ("Shqipëria në Euro 2024").
Many thanks Sabri for sending these two covers on March 15, 2026, from Tirana, franked respectively with the souvenir sheet and the two stamps from this series, designed in collaboration with the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF, logo reproduced on the stamps).
The stamp in the numbered souvenir sheet (250 ALL) above features the Albanian team's midfielder (number 10), Nedim Bajrami (born in 1999). Born in Switzerland, he played for the Swiss youth teams before being selected for the Albanian national team in 2021 (43 caps, 7 goals).
At this EURO 2024, he scored the fastest goal in the tournament's history, in the 22nd second, against Italy in the group stage.

The two stamps in this series (90 ALL and 200 ALL) were also printed in a numbered souvenir sheet, as seen on the second cover above.
The national team that participated in this EURO 2024 is featured on the stamp on the right, while the other stamp reproduces the logo associated with Albania's participation in the competition.
Following the official confirmation of Albania's qualification for this EURO 2024, the team's motto was unveiled. The phrase "Po ku ka si ti o Shqipëria ime" ("Where can I find someone like you, my Albania") was thus inscribed on the red jersey (and on the stamp above left).
These lyrics are taken from the song "Rrjedh në këngë dhe liđurime", written by Gjok Beci, composed by Feim Ibrahimi and performed by the famous Albanian singer Vaçe Zela (1939-2014) in 1980.

EUROPA 1996 (Famous European Women) stamp set on cover from Albania

Merci beaucoup Sabri !
Albania has been issuing CEPT-EUROPA stamps since 1992 (the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America), almost simultaneously with many other former communist bloc countries. That same year, Albania became a member of the Conference of European Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT).
As the CEPT sought to focus on telecommunications, the association of European public postal operators, PostEurop, subsequently took over the management of EUROPA stamps. From 1993 onwards the CEPT logo disappeared in favor of a new logotype, the word "EUROPA" tilted to the right.
On May 5, 1996, the Albanian Post put into circulation a EUROPA set (two stamps) illustrating the theme of famous European women that year, particularly Mother Teresa.
These two stamps (25 ALL and 100 ALL) have been used on the cover below, sent on March 15, 2026, from Tirana. Thank you so much, Sabri!

Mother Teresa (1910-1997) is depicted on these two stamps in the famous white sari with a blue border worn by the Missionaries of Charity, the Catholic religious congregation she founded in Calcutta in 1950 to help the poorest and sickest.
As a reminder, Mother Teresa (Anjezë Gonxha Bojaxhiu is her real name) was a Roman Catholic religious sister (born in Skopje in an Albanian family from Kosovo), who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2003, and then canonized on September 4, 2016, by Pope Francis.
The Albanian Post issued numerous stamps dedicated to Mother Teresa in the past, such as the Albania-Kosovo-Macedonia joint issue in 2010 commemorating the 100th anniversary of her birth, and the stamp about her canonization in 1996.
In 1996, the Macedonian postal administration issued its first EUROPA stamps, including one dedicated to Mother Teresa.

"Albanian Admission to the CEPT in 1992" stamp set on cover from Albania

In 1992, Albania became a member of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT).
Established in 1959, the CEPT (currently with 46 member countries) is a coordinating body for the postal and telecommunications organizations of European states.
On September 15, 1956, the first issue (covering six countries) of what would become the EUROPA stamps was issued. In 1959, these issues became common to the CEPT member countries, whose initials "CEPT" appeared on the stamps from 1960 onwards.
The fall of the communist bloc led to new issuing countries starting in 1990, reaching 57 countries by the end of the 1990s.
As the CEPT wished to focus on telecommunications, the association of European public postal operators, PostEurop, took over the management of the EUROPA stamps. From 1993 onwards the CEPT logo disappeared in favor of a new logotype, the word "EUROPA" tilted to the right.

Albania has been issuing CEPT-EUROPA stamps since 1992 (the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America), almost simultaneously with many other former communist bloc countries.
On April 15, 1992, the Albanian postal service had previously released a series (two stamps) commemorating Albania's accession to the CEPT.
These two stamps, featuring the CEPT logo and depicting postal (0.90 ALL) and telecommunications (1.20 ALL) services respectively, have been used on the left side of the cover above, sent on March 1, 2026, from Tirana. Thank you very much, Sabri!
Sabri used a third stamp (150 ALL) from the EUROPA 2023 series (2 stamps, 1 souvenir sheet, 1 booklet) issued on April 27, 2024 (!), illustrating the theme "Peace - the highest value of humanity" ("Paqja - Vlera më e lartë e njerëzimit" in Albanian).
As a reminder, at the suggestion of the Ukrainian Post, this theme was chosen by the PostEurop organization for the EUROPA 2023 stamps echoing the aggression of Ukraine by Russia which started on February 2022.
To illustrate this 2023 theme, PostEurop organized a competition within the member countries and the Luxembourg Post's "Peace Knot" project (authors: Linda Bos and Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) was chosen from among 29 proposals.
Strangely, the Albanian Post did not choose to reproduce this "Peace Knot" on this EUROPA set...

Euromed Postal 2024 (Sports in the Mediterranean) stamp set on cover from Albania

As a reminder, since 2014, some member countries (currently 23 in total) of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, are issuing each year  "Euromed Postal" stamps devoted to a common theme related to the Mediterranean region.
Following Mediterranean Festivals in 2023, the 14 participating postal administrations issued in 2024 different "Euromed Postal" stamps dedicated to the theme of Sports in the Mediterranean ("Sportet në Mesdhe" in Albanian).
With more than one-year delay (as usual in recent years), the Albanian Post put into circulation, on January 23, 2026, its 5th Euromed Postal series (2 stamps with year 2024) dedicated in particular to this theme of Sports in the Mediterranean.

Designed by L. Kraja, these two stamps, curiously lacking the Euromed Postal logo - a stylized falcon - have been used on the cover above, sent on January 25, 2026, from Tirana, the capital. Thank you very much, Sabri!
These two stamps respectively illustrate different pictograms of sporting disciplines - cycling, athletics, shooting, swimming (140 ALL, print run: 30,000) and football, weightlifting, archery, boxing (150 ALL,
print run: 60,000) - with a map of the Mediterranean basin in the background (funny to note that the Maltese archipelago is represented by a disproportionately large disc...).
This stamp set serves as a reminder that the Mediterranean Games, a major international multi-sport event held every four years that brings together the nations bordering the Mediterranean (including Albania), aim to promote friendship, cultural exchange, cooperation and peace between participating countries through the universal language of sport.

EUROPA 2024 (Underwater Fauna and Flora) stamp set on cover from Albania

Merci beaucoup Sabri !

The stamp (250 ALL, unknown print run) and souvenir sheet (400 ALL, unknown print run) comprising this lovely EUROPA 2024 series, designed by Xh. Guga, have been used on the cover below, sent on December 14, 2025, from Tirana, the capital. Thank you very much, Sabri!

This journey beneath the surface of the water reminds us of the richness and fragility of the underwater world and invites reflection, creating a link between art, nature and environmental awareness, while highlighting the importance of preserving biodiversity and natural balance.

Euromed Postal 2023 (Mediterranean Festivals) stamp set on cover from Albania

As a reminder, since 2014, some member countries (currently 23 in total) of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, are issuing each year  "Euromed Postal" stamps devoted to a common theme related to the Mediterranean region.
After maritime archaeology or antique cities of the Mediterranean in 2022, the 14 participating postal administrations issued in 2023 different "Euromed Postal" stamps dedicated to the theme of Mediterranean festivals ("Festivalet e mesdheut" in Albanian).
With a one-year delay (as usual in recent years), the Albanian Post put into circulation, on June 26, 2024, its 4th Euromed Postal series (4 stamps) dedicated in particular to the National Folk Festival of Gjirokastër ("Festivali Folklorik Kombëtar i Gjirokastrës").

EUROPA 2023 (Peace - the highest value of humanity) stamp set on cover from Albania

As with its EUROPA 2020 series put into circulation in 2021, its EUROPA 2021 series issued in 2022 and its EUROPA 2022 series issued in 2023, the Albanian Post finally put into circulation on April 27, 2024, its EUROPA 2023 set (2 stamps, 1 souvenir sheet, 1 booklet) illustrating the theme of "Peace - the highest value of humanity" ("Paqja - Vlera më e lartë e njerëzimit" in Albanian).

Strangely, the Albanian Post did not choose to reproduce this "Peace Knot" on this EUROPA series...

Designed by Artjon Baboçi, this series features a dove of peace as on the numbered souvenir sheet (250 lekë, print run: 8,000) used on the cover above sent on May 6, 2024 from Tirana, the country's capital. Thank you very much Sabri!
A dove of peace prevents a bullet from hitting its target, with the European flag and ribbons displaying the colors of the Ukrainian flag and the word "peace" in several different languages in the background.

The two stamps in this series (150 and 250 lekë, print run: 50,000 and 10,000) were each printed in sheets of 48 stamps.
The same two stamps with different nominal values (150 and 200 lekë) were also printed in the numbered sheetlet (print run: 8,000) used on the 2nd cover above sent on the first day of issue from Tirana.
The stamp on the right is identical to that appearing on the souvenir sheet, the other stamp also representing a dove of peace with in the background, a terrestrial globe with outstretched hands in the lower part (including two in the colors of the European and Ukrainian flags ) and the slogan "Stop war".

"Ukraine: Unbroken Beauty for over 1500 Years" s/s on cover from Albania

On the occasion of the "Ukraine - Southeast Europe" summit organized in Tirana on February 28, 2024, in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Albanian Post put into circulation two stamps in support of Ukraine, featuring two Ukrainian women, in civilian clothes and in medical intervention on the battlefields.
Entitled "Ukraine: Unbroken Beauty for over 1500 Years", this series was also printed in a numbered souvenir sheet (print run: 5,000), used on the cover below sent on April 27, 2024 from Tirana. Thank you very much Sabri!
This series is a creation by Davy Wauters, a former NATO official, drawn in collaboration with Ukrainian portrait painter Oksana Lapsiuk. To note that this design exists in 5 versions (with different hair and eye colors) and has already been used on personalized Belgian stamps...
The term "Unbroken" refers to the resilience of Ukrainians during this difficult period, "Beauty" referring to the country and its people, "For over 1500 years" recalling that Ukraine has a very long history and was founded centuries before Russia appeared on the map!
The choice to represent women aims to highlight the eternal courage of the countless Ukrainian women who fight alongside men in this war, which does not discriminate by age, gender or color.

The stamp on the left (60 lekë) symbolizes a prosperous Ukraine through a pretty, smiling Ukrainian woman wearing the traditional outfit: a "Vyshyvanka" shirt and a green vest with floral embroidery as well as a red skirt and a floral crown. She holds a sheaf of wheat in her hands. In the background, a peaceful blue sky with three birds (storks) and a happy expanse of a fertile wheat field (recalling the yellow and blue colors of the Ukrainian flag).
The other stamp (140 lekë) depicts the same woman, in the same place, but after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine. Her beautiful smile is replaced by a determined face bearing battle marks. As a doctor, she now puts her skills at the disposal of the Ukrainian armed forces on the ground. Her floral crown is transformed into a military helmet, her "Vyshyvanka" is replaced by a green military uniform and a bulletproof vest.
The Ukrainian flag and coat of arms are featured on her right arm. Instead of the sheaf of wheat, she is now holding a bloody bandage in one hand and a battlefield medical kit in the other. The peaceful blue sky is now grey with smoke, the three birds becoming three missiles being shot at the Ukrainian soil, the prosperous wheat field on fire because of explosions made by Russian troops
At the bottom right on each stamp the mention "24.02" refers to February 24, 2022, the day of Russia's second military intervention in Ukraine, which triggered this terrible large-scale war. Glory to Ukraine!

"100 years of diplomatic relations with the USA" stamp set on cover from Albania

Diplomatic relations between Albania and the United States of America were first established in 1922, after Albania's independence from the Ottoman Empire, and ended in 1939 due to the German and Italian occupation during World War II.
These relations were restored in 1991 after the fall of communism in Albania and the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Albania and the USA are both members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and maintain close relations, particularly in terms of defense and development aid.
The year 2022 therefore marked the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Albania and the United States of America ("100 vjet marrëdhënie diplomatike Shqipëri- SHBA" in Albanian).
On October 26, 2023, the Albanian Post put into circulation a nice series (1 stamp, 1 souvenir sheet, 1 booklet - printed in 2022) dedicated to this anniversary.

The stamp (100 lekë, print run: 100,000) and the souvenir sheet (250 lekë, print run: 5,000) from this series (design: Artjon Baboçi) were used on this cover sent by registered mail on January 22, 2024 from Tirana. Thank you very much Sabri!
Two emblematic monuments of the two countries, the equestrian statue of Skanderbeg (1968, sculptor: Odhise Paskali), one of the great figures of the Albanian resistance against the Ottomans in the 15th century, in Tirana and the Statue of Liberty (1886, sculptor: Auguste Bartholdi) in New York, are depicted on the stamp, with the national flags in the background.
These same two monuments appear on the souvenir sheet's stamp, reproducing (I suppose) the 1922 document reporting the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The flags and coats of arms of the two countries are featured in the margins as well as certain buildings of the two capitals: national parliament, national history museum, Et'hem Bey mosque, Clock Tower and "4 Ever Green" tower in Tirana, United States Capitol, "Washington Monument" obelisk and National Cathedral in Washington.

EUROPA 2022 (Stories and Myths) stamp set on cover from Albania

As with its EUROPA 2020 series put into circulation in 2021 and its EUROPA 2021 series issued in 2022, the Albanian Post finally put into circulation on December 1, 2023, its EUROPA 2022 series (1 stamp, 1 souvenir sheet, 1 booklet) illustrating the theme of Stories and Myths ("Histori dhe Mite" in Albanian).
The stamp (150 lekë, print run: 60,000) and the souvenir sheet (250 lekë, print run: 10,000) making up this very pretty EUROPA 2022 set, designed by Petraq Papa, have been used on this cover sent by registered mail on January 22, 2024 from Tirana, the capital. Thank you very much Sabri!
This series is dedicated to the legend of Rozafa Castle, a prominent historical (and tourist) site, located near the town of Shkodër, in northwest Albania.

One of the many legends linked to this site mentions three brothers who experienced difficulties during the construction of this castle, cursed by the gods (every evening, the day's construction was destroyed).
To overcome this problem, the religious advised them to make a human sacrifice. The brothers conferred and chose to sacrifice Rozafa, the wife of the youngest among them.
Her body was to be buried within the castle walls. Rozafa, having given birth to a child, begged to be walled in alive leaving her right breast exposed so she could breastfeed her baby, her right hand to caress him, her right foot to rock him and her right eye to keep an eye on him.
To note that one of the EUROPA 2022 stamps put into circulation by the Post of Kosovo is illustrating this same legend.

Euromed Postal 2022 (Maritime Archeology in the Mediterranean) stamp set on cover from Albania

As a reminder, since 2014, some member countries (currently 23 in total) of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, are issuing each year  "Euromed Postal" stamps devoted to a common theme related to the Mediterranean region.
After Handicraft Jewelry in the Mediterranean in 2021, the 15 participating postal administrations issued different "Euromed Postal" stamps in 2022 dedicated to the theme of Maritime Archeology or Antique Cities of the Mediterranean.
More than a year late, the Albanian Post put into circulation, on October 20, 2023, its 3rd Euromed Postal series (4 stamps) illustrating only the theme of underwater archeology ("Arkeologjia nënujore" in Albanian).

Designed by Petraq Papa, these 4 stamps (with the presence of the Euromed Postal logo - a stylized falcon - on each stamp) were printed in the same sheet made up of 8 stamps (2 of each, edition: 3,700 sheets) as well as in sheets of 28 stamps for the 50 lekë (print run: 125,000) and 90 lekë (print run: 100,000) stamps.
Many thanks Sabri for this cover sent on December 2, 2023 from Tirana, including this very nice Euromed Postal 2022 series!
Unfortunately, I do not have any details concerning the different underwater sites depicted on these 4 stamps, all including vestiges with the presence of several types of amphorae.
There is an unusually high concentration of shipwrecks along the Albanian coastline. The shape of the cliffs, underwater caves and submerged rock formations dragged the ships to the bottom, but as this area was often a theater of war, many other ships were deliberately sunk.
The Albanian Coastal Agency maps the seabed and has so far identified 38 wrecks, the oldest of which dates back to the 4th century BC.
The Joni wreck was the first underwater site excavated in Albania. The original cargo of amphorae is still on board and dates back to the times of ancient Rome. The Joni sank in the 4th century and lies intact, although in a fragile condition.

"15th anniversary of the independence of Kosovo" s/s on cover from Albania

Kosovo's independence was proclaimed unilaterally on February 17, 2008 during a special session of parliament, which declared the new country independent of Serbia, the latter strongly opposing it.
This independence is still disputed today by Serbia which considers it as one of its provinces, and divides the international community, about 120 countries having officially recognized this independence including 22 of the 27 countries of the European Union (all except Spain, Romania, Greece, Cyprus and Slovakia).
For 15 years, the country has become a member of most of the major world sports organizations but remains to this day not a member of the main international institutions (UN, UNESCO...), China and Russia in particular, permanent members of the UN Security Council, not recognizing this independence.
It should also be noted that about twenty countries (mainly in Africa and Oceania) which had recognized this independence at first, have since reconsidered this decision...

On February 17, 2023, the Post of Kosovo put into circulation a stamp (€2.10) dedicated to the 15th anniversary of this independence. This stamp features the words "15 vjet shtet, për jete" ("15 years of state, for life") in Albanian as well as a logo consisting of the stylized number 15, including the blue and gold colors of the flag of Kosovo and the red and black colors of the flag of Albania, the "brother" country. I guess the color green refers to hope or freedom.
On April 27, 2023, the Albanian Post put into circulation a souvenir sheet (2 stamps, unknown print run) also dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the independence of Kosovo, including one (200 lekë) reproducing the same logo.
This numbered souvenir sheet was used on this cover sent by registered mail on June 12, 2023 from Tirana. Thank you very much Sabri!
The 2nd stamp (250 lekë) is dedicated to the memorial (built between 2012 and 2015) paying tribute to the 114 martyrs who died during the Battle of Košare, during the Kosovo War.
The Battle of Košare began on April 9, 1999 under the command of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK) with the support of the Albanian Army. In this battle, the Yugoslav army lost control of the border between Kosovo and Albania, which was a major victory for the UCK, forcing Serbian soldiers to leave the border and allowing safe passage of weapons and volunteers from Albania to Kosovo.
The Battle of Košare ended on June 10, 1999, when the Kumanova Agreement ending the Kosovo War was signed.

On April 14, 2022, the Albanian Post put into circulation an interesting series (2 stamps), initially planned for 2021, devoted to the theme of biodiversity and animal species threatened with extinction ("Specie në zhdukje"), in particular the Egyptian vulture.
Designed by Rigels Lulo, these two stamps (50 and 250 lekë) were used on this cover sent by registered mail on May 6, 2022 from the capital, Tirana. Thank you very much Sabri!
These two stamps have been printed in the same sheetlet of 8 stamps (4 of each, print run: 3,500 stamps), the 50 lekë stamp also being printed separately in a sheet of 28 stamps (print run: 120,000).

The Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus) is a species of raptor with IUCN "Endangered" status, living in Africa (Sahara, Maghreb), southern Europe and Asia.
Only 6 breeding pairs and 3 isolated individuals have currently been recorded in Albania, in a restricted area around the basin of the Vjosa river (Aoos in Greek),
in southwestern Albania. In 15 years, this bird has lost about 35% of its range.
The bond between the Egyptian vulture and this Vjosa river is very important in Albania, to the point that an expression exists: "When we say Egyptian vulture we mean Vjosa and when we say Vjosa we imply Egyptian vulture".
The presence of this bird in this region of the Vjosa River could be threatened by hydroelectric power plant construction projects.

Euromed Postal 2021 (Handicraft Jewelry in the Mediterranean) stamp set on cover from Albania

As a reminder, since 2014, some member countries (currently 23 in total) of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, are issuing each year  "Euromed Postal" stamps devoted to a common theme related to the Mediterranean region.
After traditional gastronomy in the Mediterranean in 2020, the 17 participating postal administrations issued in 2021 different "Euromed Postal" stamps dedicated to Handicraft Jewelry in the Mediterranean
Almost a year late, the Albanian Post put into circulation, on May 11, 2022, its 2nd Euromed Postal series (4 stamps) illustrating this theme of Handicraft Jewelry in the Mediterranean ("Bizhuteri të punuara me dorë në Mesdhe" in Albanian ).

Designed by Bertrand Shijaku, these 4 stamps (with the presence of the Euromed Postal logo - a stylized falcon - on each stamp) were printed in the same minisheet made up of 8 stamps (2 of each, print run: 4,000) as well as in sheets of 20 stamps for the 20 lekë (print run: 120,000), 70 lekë (print run: 240,000) and 100 lekë (print run: 140,000) stamps.
A big thank you Sabri for this cover sent by registered mail on May 18, 2022 from Tirana, including this very nice Euromed Postal 2021 series!
Unfortunately, I don't have any details about the different jewels illustrated on this series, 2 bracelets, a necklace and a pair of earrings a priori.
The development of goldsmithery in Albania dates from the middle of the 17th century and 18th century, with many workshops in the cities of Shkodra, Prizren, Elbasan, Berat or Voskopoja.
The first objects were created for places of worship (cross decorations, reliquary chests, liturgical objects, candlesticks...) then the main jewelers belonged to the Krasniqi, Kacagjeli or Guralumi families.

On May 2, 2022, the Albanian Post put into circulation a new series (2 stamps), initially scheduled for 2021, dedicated to tourism ("Turizmi shqiptar") and in particular to a remarkable natural site, the canyon of Gjipe.
Designed by Artion Baboçi, these 2 stamps (

Tourism in Albania has been a key part of the country's economic activity and is constantly growing (nearly 5 million foreign visitors in 2016), favored by a rich archaeological, natural and cultural heritage.

The limestone canyon of Gjipe ("Kanioni i Gjipesë" in Albanian) is one of the largest canyons in Albania, located between the villages of Dhërmi and Vuno carved out by the Ionian Sea in the county of Vlorë (south coast of the country).
The canyon occupies a length of 800 meters and a width that can vary between 10 and 20 meters. It represents a narrow strait with high walls of 100 to 120 meters, created by the activity of the stream bearing the same name.
There are many rock formations along the canyon, including a number of caves. Located at the transition zone of the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea, the landscape is among the most visited attractions of the Albanian Riviera. Nevertheless, the canyon has been further recognized as a Plant Area of International Importance by Plantlife.
A sandy beach is located at the mouth of this canyon, where rare marine fauna can be observed (loggerhead sea turtle, several species of whales and dolphins).
