EUROPA stamps on special "EFIRO 2024" cover from Romania

On the occasion of the Specialized World Stamp Exhibition ("Expoziția Filatelică Mondială Specializată") "EFIRO 2024", organized from April 16 to 19, 2024 in the National Library of Bucharest, Romfilatelia put into circulation several stamps as well as special cancellations.
Two of these cancellations were applied on April 16, 2024 on the envelope below by the Bucharest 15 postal office. Thank you very much Dorin!
The postmark on the right, in the shape of a pentagon, is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and recalls that Romania was one of the 21 founding countries on October 9, 1874.
The UPU, headquartered in Bern (Switzerland), is the second oldest international organization after the International Telecommunications Union. With its 192 member countries today, the UPU is the primary forum for cooperation between postal sector players. It helps to ensure a truly universal network of up-to-date products and services.

This postmark was designed from the UPU monument ("Weltpostdenkmal", sculptor: René de Saint-Marceaux) featuring 5 messengers (representing the 5 continents) passing letters around a terrestrial globe, inaugurated on October 4, 1909 in Bern. Over the years, this monument has appeared on hundreds of postage stamps around the world.
The other cancellation above left is dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the Union of the Principalities of Romania. United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia was the official name of Romania after the union of these two Principalities in 1859, under the reign of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza, one of the major figures of the Romanian cultural renaissance.
Dorin used four stamps from the EUROPA series put into circulation in 2008 (1.60 L, issued on May 8, illustrating the theme of the letter), 2013 (2.10 L, issued on April 30, illustrating the theme of postal vehicles), 2016 (5 L, issued on May 4, illustrating the theme "Think Green!", on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first EUROPA stamps) and 2017 (4.50 L, issued on April 12, illustrating the theme of castles, Hunedoara Castle here).

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from North Macedonia

As a reminder, the EUROPA theme chosen for the year 2016 (coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps) was devoted to ecology in Europe with in particular this slogan "Think Green" ("Мисли зелено" in Macedonian).
Following a competition organized by PostEurop, a common design (author: Doxia Sergidou / Cypriot Post) chosen from 24 projects, was selected and reproduced on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2016 by the various European postal administrations members of this association.
The Macedonian Post curiously chose not to issue this common stamp despite a EUROPA series (design: L. Zhivkovska Donev) issued on May 10, 2016, composed of 2 isolated stamps, a souvenir sheet (1 stamp) and a sheetlet (4 stamps)...
The 2 stamps and the souvenir sheet were used on this cover sent on October 31, 2023 from Skopje, the capital.

The first stamp (50 denars) is dedicated to the Povardarie region (central North Macedonia), made up of canyons, mountains and valleys through which the Vardar river flows. This stamp shows in particular different animal species, Eurasian griffon vultures, Egyptian vulture, red fox and red-legged partridge, in a mountain landscape.
The other stamp (100 denars) illustrates sites located near lakes, Dojran, Matka and Ohrid, unless I am mistaken.
The souvenir sheet (144 denars, print run: 7,000) represents an Eurasian brown bear in the center, different species of plants and mushrooms in the margins, as well as badgers and an European green woodpecker.
Most of the brown bears recorded in the country live in the Mavrovo National Park (northwest of the country) where their population has doubled (around 200 animals) in recent years, creating tensions with local populations.

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green!) stamp on cover from Georgia

A new EUROPA 2016 stamp in my collection thanks to this letter from Georgia, sent on November 6, 2017 from the capital, Tbilisi. Thank you very much Khatuna!
Georgian Post was, as usual, one of the last European postal administrations to put into circulation its unique EUROPA stamp in 2016, on November 3 precisely.
That stamp (2.90 GEL, print run: 50,000), printed in a sheet of 10 stamps, was designed from the common design chosen by PostEurop to celebrate in 2016 the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first EUROPA stamps, having Ecology ("Think Green!") for theme.

As a reminder, it was the Cypriot Post project (author: Doxia Sergidou), among 24 projects in competition, which was chosen for this joint "transition to sustainability" stamp, referring to the role and responsibility of human beings for a greener future, transforming gray (pollution of the environment) into green (renewable energies...).

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Armenia

Merci beaucoup Serg!
On December 1, 2016, the postal administration of Armenia (HayPost) put into circulation two EUROPA stamps (350 drams each), one of which having been designed from the joint drawing (author: Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) chosen among 24 projects, following a competition organized by PostEurop.
As a reminder, the theme chosen for this year 2016 (coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps) was devoted to Ecology in Europe, with the slogan "Think Green".
I was lucky enough to receive the nice letter below sent on September 2017 (unreadable date) from Yerevan, the capital (to note this imposing blue postmark as usual), franked with this EUROPA set. Thank you very much Serg!

These two stamps (print run: 50,000 each), printed in France by Cartor, were issued in the same sheetlet of 10 stamps (5 of each).
The top part of this sheetlet, with the logo "EUROPA" and the mention "Think Green" (in Armenian) in the margin, was used on the letter above.
The 2nd EUROPA stamp (on the left), designed by Vahagn Mkrtchyan, is featuring the effects of pollution on the environment and climate change with this green landscape (tree) transformed into a barren landscape...

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Nagorno-Karabakh

Merci beaucoup Serg.
On May 20, 2016, the Postal Administration of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh Post) put into circulation two EUROPA stamps (350 drams each), one of which having been designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) chosen among 24 projects, following a competition organized by PostEurop.
As a reminder, the theme chosen for this year 2016 (coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps) was devoted to Ecology in Europe, with the slogan "Think Green".
I was lucky enough to receive the great letter below sent on March 7, 2017 from Stepanakert, the capital (to note this imposing two-color postmark !), franked with this EUROPA set. Thank you very much Serg.

These two stamps (print run : 14,000 each), printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim, were each issued in sheets of 10 stamps and also in a same sheetlet of 10 stamps (5 of each, print run : 1,400 sheetlets).
It is the bottom part of this sheetlet, with the mentions "EUROPA" and "Think Green" in the margin, which was used on the cover above.
The 2nd EUROPA stamp (left) features the effects of pollution (plant chimneys...) on the environment and climate change with this green landscape (with white birds) transformed into a barren landscape (with black birds)...
As a reminder, stamps issued by this self-proclaimed Republic mainly populated by Armenians, are not recognized either by UPU nor by the European postal organization PostEurop managing (since 1993) these EUROPA issues each year.
This disputed territory between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which is not recognized by the international community, is however issuing its own stamps, including the mention "Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh" replaced by "Republic of Mountainous Karabakh" in recent years.

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green!) stamp set on cover from Estonia

A big thank you Patrik for this nice letter sent on December 14, 2016 from the little town of Laagri (north of the country), franked with the two stamps of the EUROPA series issued this year (on May 9, 2016) by the Estonian Post !
One of these two stamps (€ 1.40, print run : 50,000) has been designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) chosen among 24 projects, following a competition organized by PostEurop.
As a reminder, the theme for this year 2016 (coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps) is devoted to Ecology in Europe through in particular the slogan "Think Green" ("mõtle roheliselt"in Estonian).

This joint stamp (above to the right) evokes man's role and responsibility for a greener future, turning gray (environmental pollution) into green (renewable energies...).
The second stamp of this series (€ 1.40, print run : 50,000), designed by Indrek Ilves, is interesting because it shows a parallel between the morphological evolution of human being and his role in the degradation or preservation of environment.
Thus we see four individuals at different stages of human's evolution walking towards a gray zone made up of factory chimneys, an airplane and a Ford T, the first mass produced car in the world.
These two stamps (printed each in sheetlet of 10 stamps) are rather successful with this symmetrical effect (colors and patterns).

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Kazakhstan

Merci beaucoup Sergey !
The postal administration of Kazakhstan is issuing EUROPA stamps since 2005 (the theme was then "Gastronomy") while it is officially a member of the Association of European Public Postal Operators PostEurop only since January 2011. It seems that the authorities of Kazakhstan have chosen to move closer to Europe (the country is also affiliated to UEFA since 2002) while, geographically speaking, this country is located on the Asian continent.
On October 21, 2016, two EUROPA stamps have been issued in the same sheet consisting of 12 stamps (6 of each, print run : 7,500 for each stamp).
A pair was used to frank the nice letter below sent by registered mail on November 30, 2016 from the town of Petropavl (north of the country). Thank you very much Sergey !

The stamp on the left (300 KZT) was designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cypriot Post) chosen among 24 projects by PostEurop to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps.
As a reminder, this year's EUROPA theme is devoted to Ecology in Europe through the slogan "Think Green" and this joint stamp symbolizes the responsibility of man to transform gray (environmental pollution) into green (renewable enregies...).
The other stamp (rate "C", 218 KZT currently), designed by K. Pluzhnikova, is devoted to the EXPO 2017 held in Astana from 10 June to 10 September 2017.
This specialized international exhibition will focus on the "Future Energy" with the participation of some 100 countries.

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green!) stamp on cover from Sweden

As a reminder, PostNord AB (its name was changed to become PostNord in 2011) is the name of the holding company resulting from the merger of the two postal administrations of Sweden (Posten AB) and Denmark (Post Danmark) in June 2009.
This company, with around 50,000 employees, is controlled by the Swedish state (60%) and the Danish state (40%).
Despite this common entity, the two countries decide each of their stamp issuing policy.
PostNord (Sweden) was the first to issue its EUROPA stamp in 2016, on January 14 exactly, and paradoxically, that stamp used on one of the last letters received this year ;)
A big thank you Rune for this cover below, sent from the city of Torslanda on December 8, 2016, with the application of a mechanical cancellation in Gothenburg, including the words "God Jul!" ("Merry Christmas!") and PostNord !

As a reminder too, as part of the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT / EUROPA stamps (in 1956), the association of the European public postal operators PostEurop organized a competition to designate the joint drawing reproduced on the EUROPA stamps in 2016, devoted to Ecology in Europe via the slogan "Think Green!".
It is the drawing designed by Doxia Sergidou (Cyprus Post) that was chosen from 24 projects, symbolizing man's responsibility to transform gray (environmental pollution) into green (renewable energies...).
This self-adhesive stamp (14 SEK) is marketed in the form of a coil made up of 10 stamps.
It should be noted that PostNord is constantly working to reduce its ecological footprint with the objective of reducing its carbon dioxide emissions by 40% before 2020.

60th anniversary of the issue of the first EUROPA stamps - prepaid envelope from Moldova

In 2005 and 2006, many European postal administrations (Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Gibraltar, Greenland, Estonia, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Romania, Turkey, Cyprus, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Malta, Isle of Man, Ukraine or Austria) but also non European postal administrations (Sri Lanka, Laos, Uruguay, Fiji, Samoa, Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Kyrgyzstan, Peru, Solomon Islands, Belize, Bhutan, Saint Helena, Mongolia, Nicaragua or Suriname) issued stamps celebrating the 50th anniversary of the issue of the first EUROPA stamps in 1956.
This says a lot about the popularity of this EUROPA theme among collectors all over the world !

On 20 July 2005 (one year ahead ?), the Post of Moldova also commemorated this 50th anniversary by issuing two stamps + one souvenir sheet.
One of these stamps reproduced the drawing which appeared on this first EUROPA issue, put into circulation on September 15, 1956 by the six member countries of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) : Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands and West Germany.
That stamp, representing a tower formed by the word EUROPA and symbolizing the construction of Europe, was designed by Daniel Gonzague, a young French postman, following a competition organized by ECSC.
A stamp almost similar to the one issued in 2005 (without the CEPT logo and the 50th anniversary logo) appears on the prepaid envelope above (L 1.75, print run : 5,000, design : Lilian Iaţco), put into circulation on the November 25, 2016 in Chişinău (MD-2012) on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first EUROPA stamps.
A big thank you Nicolae for this special cover with FDC cancellation !

On this envelope, Nicolae also used one of the two EUROPA stamp issued on April 5, 2016, reproducing the joint design chosen this year by PostEurop following a contest organized rightly to celebrate the 60 years of these first EUROPA stamps.
The left part of this envelope is featuring the EUROPA stamps issued by the Post of Moldova since 1993 (with the exception of those issued in 1994, 1999 and 2015).
Nicolae also sent me the postcard above (24/2015, design : Alexandr Kornienko, print run : 500) also showing some of the EUROPA stamps issued by the Post of Moldova between 1993 and 2015.
Curiously, EUROPA stamps issued in 2006, 2007 and 2010 are also missing on this card...
Unless I'm mistaken, the Post of Moldova is the only postal administration to have released this year a philatelic issue regarding this 60th anniversary !

EUROPA 2016 (Gondolkodj zölden!) stamp set on cover from Hungary

As a reminder, in connection with the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT / EUROPA stamps (it was in 1956), the association of European public postal operators PostEurop organized a competition in order to designate the joint design reproduced on the EUROPA stamps in 2016 on the theme of Ecology in Europe through the slogan "Think Green!" ("Gondolkodj zölden!" in Hungarian).
Among the 24 projects submitted, the one presented by the Cyprus Post was chosen (29 votes ahead the projects of the Posts of Slovenia and Hungary), 36 member countries having participated in this vote.

So it's the drawing designed by Doxia Sergidou which is reproduced on the EUROPA stamp (HUF 305 - EU non-priority postcard and standard letter) issued on May 6, 2016 by the Hungarian Post (Magyar Posta).
As usual, a souvenir sheet (print run : 70,000) consisting of 4 stamps was put into circulation, used to frank the cover above sent by registered mail on November 9, 2016 from the town of Szombathely (western part of the country, near the Austrian border). Thank you very much John !
This joint design symbolizes man's responsibility to transform gray (pollution of the environment) into green (renewable energies...).
It should be noted that the project presented by the Hungarian Post (designer : Baticz Barnabás ?) to this PostEurop competition is reproduced on the left margin of this sheet, with this brain on a tree's leaf background.

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Luxembourg

On May 10, 2016, the Luxembourg Post issued a series of two EUROPA stamps, including one (€ 0.95) designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cypriot Post) selected among 24 projects by PostEurop to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps.
As a reminder, this year's EUROPA theme is devoted to Ecology in Europe with this slogan "Think Green" and this joint stamp symbolizes the responsibility of human beings to transform gray (environmental pollution) into green (renewable energies...).

This EUROPA 2016 set was used on the cover above sent on November 9, 2016 from the city of Luxembourg.
To note the special cachet on the lower left, issued by Post Philately Luxembourg during the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" in Paris, evoking the 10 years of the TGV railway line between Luxembourg and Paris.
The second stamp of this series (€ 0.70) was designed by Laurent Daubach, who created a digital and design studio in 2009 in Luxembourg with Viktor Dick.
I do not know how to interpret this design showing a priori a green leaf metamorphosing in golden star (an allusion to the European Union and its action for ecology ?), with a beach (sand, sea and sky) in the background ?

Philatelic souvenirs from the International Stamp Exhibition 2016 in Sindelfingen, Germany

The 34th edition of the International Stamp Exhibition ("Internationale Briefmarken-Börse") in Sindelfingen, a town located in south-west Germany (Land of Baden-Württemberg), near Stuttgart, took place from 27 to 29 October 2016.
I was lucky enough to receive the following philatelic souvenirs sent on the first day of this exhibition. Thank you very much Olivier and Franz !
As in previous years, several special postmarks (4 in total) were offered to the public during these 3 days, two of which having been applied on the two covers below.

The cover above is a prepaid envelope (sale price : € 0.90) put into circulation on October 6, 2016 with mention of this philatelic exhibition of Sindelfingen 2016.
The theme of this envelope is devoted to the protection of environment and in particular to renewable energies, with the EUROPA pre-printed stamp (€ 0.70, issued on May 2, 2016).
The special cancellation evokes some of the electric vehicles (Elektro-Fahrzeuge) used each day by the Deutsche Post.

Another special cancellation proposed during this philatelic exhibition was applied to the 2nd letter above, devoted to the "Stamp Day" ("Tag der Briefmarke").
This postmark includes an illustration evoking love letters ("Liebesbriefe") as well as the mention of the philatelic association (6500 members), "LandesVerband Südwest", active in the Lands of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate.
The stamp (€ 0.70, design : Daniela Haufe and Detlef Fiedler), issued on October 6, 2016, celebrates the 175th anniversary of the writing of the German national anthem "Deutschlandlied", composed in 1841 by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798-1874).
The three verses of this anthem (music by Joseph Haydn composed in 1797) officially became the national anthem in 1922, adopted by the Weimar Republic.
After the German reunification in 1990, only the 3rd verse (written entirely on that stamp, with a Emperor character font) is adopted as the national anthem of all Germany.

"Think green" (EUROPA 2016 or not ?) stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Since 2006 (the country had not yet declared its independence and was under the administration of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo), stamps with the same theme as the official EUROPA series are put into circulation every year by the Post of Kosovo.
Variably, these stamps mentioned (or not) the wording of that theme or the mention EUROPA, without including however the EUROPA logo, Kosovo being not a member of the Association of European Public Postal Operators PostEurop, managing these EUROPA stamps.
On May 9, 2016, 2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet were issued, devoted to the EUROPA 2016 topic : Ecology in Europe and especially the slogan "Think Green" ("Mendo gjelbër" in Albanian).

The two stamps of this series were used on the cover above sent on October 8, 2016 from the city of Prizren, located in the south of the country. Thank you very much Sabri !
Designed by A. Kabashi and each printed in sheet of 10 stamps, these two stamps are respectively featuring a green Kosovo with a potential for developing renewable energies (€ 1) and the globalized era of artificial intelligence with a "green" memory and human life in harmony with nature (€ 2.10).
To note that these stamps however include the mention "Europa 2016", which should please the PostEurop Association !
Since 2016, stamps issued by the Post of Kosovo ("Posta e Kosovës") include only the country's name "Kosova", instead of "Republic of Kosovo" in Albanian, English and Serbian the previous years.

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Republika Srpska

Merci beaucoup Edin !
With this new cover, my EUROPA 2016 collection from Bosnia and Herzegovina is full !
I had indeed already shared with you on this blog two covers franked with the EUROPA 2016 stamp sets respectively issued by the Croatian Post Mostar and the Post of the Federation of B&H in Sarajevo.
I was lucky to receive the EUROPA 2016 series issued this time by the postal administration of the Republika Srpska, used to frank the cover below sent on September 13, 2016 from the city of Istočno Sarajevo (Lukavica). Thank you very much Edin !

As a reminder, Istočno Sarajevo consists of neighborhoods in the eastern part of Sarajevo, attached to the Republika Srpska following the Dayton Accords of 1995, and is the official capital (Banja Luka, the seat of government and institutions, being the de facto capital).
Devoted to the theme of Ecology in Europe and in particular to the slogan "Think Green" ("Misli zeleno" in Bosnian), this EUROPA series, issued on April 25, 2016, was declined for each stamp in sheetlet (9 stamps) as well as in booklet of 4 stamps (2 of each).
Each of these stamps (1.50 KM) was printed in 25,000 copies (15,000 for the booklet).
The stamp to the right was designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) selected among 24 projects following a competition organized by PostEurop to celebrate this year the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps.
The other stamp, designed by Nebojša Đumić, is entitled "Let's save energy" ("štedi energiju").

EUROPA 2016 m/s on cover from Montenegro

On May 9, 2016 (Europe Day), the Post of Montenegro issued only one EUROPA stamp (as it is the case since 2013) having this year for theme "Ecology in Europe" especially with the slogan "Think Green" ("Razmišljaj zeleno" in Montenegrin).
That stamp (€ 0.95, print run : 50,000), designed by Marko Zogović, was printed in a sheetlet containing 8 stamps + 1 central vignette, as well as in a numbered souvenir sheet (which print run ?).
I was lucky to receive the nice cover below franked with this souvenir sheet. Thank you very much Lars !
This letter was sent on September 6, 2016 from the village of Morinj (municipality of Kotor), located in the famous Bay of Kotor, in south-west of Montenegro.

As a reminder, this stamps was designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) selected among 24 projects following a competition organized by PostEurop to celebrate this year the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps (it was in 1956).
This drawing symbolizes the man's responsibility to turn gray (environmental pollution) into green (renewable energies...).
To note that this stamp does curiously mention only the name of Marko Zogović, too bad for Doxia Sergidou...

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo)

Merci beaucoup Edin !
Contrary to recent years, the Post of Sarajevo (Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) has not declined this year's EUROPA series in souvenir sheet or booklet, but only issued (on May 9, 2016) its two stamps (KM 2.50 each) in a mini-sheets of 10 stamps each.
These two stamps (with sheet's lower left and lower right margins) have been used to frank this nice letter sent on July 11, 2016 from the city of Zenica. Thank you very much Edin !

This series is dedicated to the theme of Ecology in Europe and in particular the slogan "Think Green" ("Misli zeleno" in Bosnian).
As a reminder, one of the two stamps of this series (stamp to the right on this cover) was designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) selected among 24 projects following a competition organized by PostEurop to celebrate this year the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps (it was in 1956).
The other stamp was designed by Tamer Lučarević on a principle close to the joint stamp, with a right part evoking the automobile and industrial pollution of air and soil, and a left part showing an unpolluted landscape, separated by a STOP sign.

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green / Be Green) stamp set on cover from Switzerland

As it is the case since 2013, the Swiss Post has again issued this year two EUROPA stamps, on May 12, 2016, in a same sheet of 16 stamps (8 of each).
Two se-tenant stamps of the bottom part of the sheet (with mentions "Think Green" and "Be Green" in the margin) have been used to frank this nice letter sent on August 16, 2016 from Geneva (to note this mechanical cancellation from the Swiss Post's logistics center). Thank you very much Jürgen !
The stamp on the left (CHF 1.00) was designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) selected among 24 projects by PostEurop to mark the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps.

That stamp is featuring the "Think Green" slogan with an evocation of the role and the responsibility of man for a greener future.
The other stamp (CHF 1.00), designed by Nicola Carpi and Dina Christ (from CinCin design studio in Zurich) illustrates the concept "Be Green" with this head and brain that seems to be made of different tree leaves...
To note again this rounded letter "R" in the EUROPA logo on these two stamps, which does not seem to be correct ?

As they usually do for Christmas stamps, the postal administrations of Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein have published the "multilateral product" above including the six EUROPA stamps issued this year (price : CHF 17.00).

EUROPA 2016 (Denk Groen) stamp set on cover from the Netherlands

Merci beaucoup Tolga !
As in previous years, the postal administration of the Netherlands (PostNL) has again issued two se-tenant stamps as part of its EUROPA series, issued on April 25, 2016, whose theme this year is devoted to Ecology in Europe and the slogan "Think Green" ("Denk Groen" in Dutch).
These two stamps (permanent rate "International 1", currently € 1.25 for a letter up to 20g) have been issued in the same sheetlet containing 10 stamps (print run : 90,000, printing by Joh. Enschedé Security Print).
This series was used to frank the nice letter below sent on August 2, 2016 from the city of Hoorn ("Betje Wolf" post office). Thank you very much Tolga !

These two stamps have been designed and laid out (for the joint stamp to the right) by the design studio "Haico Beukers and Marga Scholma" based in Haarlem.
The stamp to the right was designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) selected among 24 projects by PostEurop, to mark the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps.
To design the second stamp, Haico Beukers and Marga Scholma wondered what could be more environmentally friendly and Dutch than a bicycle !
They chose an innovative S5 model of the Dutch brand Vanmoof that designs lightweight, maintenance-light, weatherproof and hassle-free bikes.
This bike, with the words "Denk Groen" shining as a bundle of light from the headlight, is depicted on that stamp on a green background (superposition of two blue and yellow parts).

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Jersey

A big thank you Axel for this nice cover sent on July 25, 2016 from the island of Jersey, being part of the archipelago of the Channel Islands (a British dependency) located in the English Channel off the French coast.
To note that the cancellations do not mention any particular city name (only "Jersey - Channel Islands").
On May 3, 2016, the Post of Jersey issued a nice set of four stamps devoted to the theme "Think Green" chosen this year by PostEurop for the EUROPA stamps.
These four stamps, including only two stamps with the EUROPA logo, have been printed each in sheetlet of 10 stamps (design : graphic and design studio "Two Degrees North" based in Guernsey).

The two EUROPA stamps in this series are included on this letter including the one (£ 1.29) designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) selected among 24 projects (Jersey participated in this competition) by PostEurop to mark the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps.
The three other stamps in the series "Think Green" have been designed on the same type from words and phrases related to sustainable development and environmental protection.
These words or phrases have been arranged in the shape of a human head (£ 0.74 stamp above), a globe and contours of the island of Jersey, reminding us that the planet's protection starts with the individual, but is effective collectively, locally and internationally.

EUROPA 2016 (Think Green) stamp set on cover from Iceland

On April 28, 2016, the Icelandic Post issued its EUROPA series, consisting of two stamps (gummed and self-adhesive versions), devoted this year to Ecology in Europe through the slogan "Think Green" ("Græn hugsun" in Icelandic).
I was lucky enough to receive this series used to frank the nice cover below sent on July 22, 2016 from Reykjavik. Thank you very much Benedikt !
As in recent years, these two stamps have been printed each (by Cartor Security Printing) in sheet of 10 gummed stamps (print run : 120,000 for the stamp "50g to Europe - 180 ISK" and 80,000 for the stamp "50g outside Europe - 240 ISK").

These two stamps were also issued each in a booklet composed of 10 self-adhesive stamps (print run : 10,000 each).
The stamp on the right ("50g to Europe") has been designed from the joint drawing (author : Doxia Sergidou / Cyprus Post) selected among 24 projects by PostEurop, to mark the 60th anniversary of the issue of the first CEPT-EUROPA stamps.
The 2nd stamp ("50g outside Europe"), designed by Hlynur Ólafsson, is dedicated to the protection of oceans ("verndum hafið"), a major concern of Iceland.
That stamp was designed in the same way as the joint stamp with a left side evoking marine pollution and a right part showing different animal species to be protected (whale, cod, seal...), threatened by this pollution.
