Le 2 mars 2020, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation un nouveau timbre (0,80€, conception : Jennifer Dengler) consacré à "Sesame Street" ("Sesamstrasse" en allemand), la célèbre série télévisée éducative américaine pour enfants créée par Joan Ganz Cooney et Lloyd Morrisett, diffusée pour la 1ère fois le 10 novembre 1969.
Cette série a été ensuite adaptée ou doublées dans plusieurs pays, dont la France (1ère adaptation diffusée en 1978) et l'Allemagne.
Ce timbre (version gommée) a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 9 mars 2020 depuis la ville de Kaisheim (Bavière), connue pour son ancienne abbaye impériale fondée au 12ème siècle. Merci beaucoup Franz !
A noter que ce timbre a été imprimé dans un feuillet de 10 timbres gommés, comme de coutume, mais également dans un carnet "Markenset" composé de 10 timbres autocollants.
On March 2, 2020, the Deutsche Post put into circulation a new stamp (€ 0.80, design: Jennifer Dengler) dedicated to "Sesame Street" ("Sesamstrasse" in German), the famous American educational children's television series created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett, aired for the first time on November 10, 1969.
This series was then adapted or dubbed in several countries, including France (1st adaptation in 1978) and Germany.
This stamp (gummed version) was used on the cover below sent on March 9, 2020 from the city of Kaisheim (Bavaria), well known for its old imperial abbey founded in the 12th century. Thank you very much Franz!
To note that this stamp was printed in a sheetlet of 10 gummed stamps, as usual, but also in a "Markenset" booklet composed of 10 self-adhesive stamps.
Le concept complètement nouveau et révolutionnaire de "Sesame Street" consistait à utiliser la télévision comme outil éducatif et à préparer les enfants, en particulier ceux issus de familles à faible revenu, à l'école et à la vie.
Des acteurs humains, principalement des enfants, ont également été inclus dans le programme et ont interagi avec les marionnettes (appelées "Muppets") de Jim Henson.
La première diffusion de la version allemande de "Sesame Street" a eu lieu le 8 janvier 1973 à la télévision ouest-allemande, adaptée à la culture locale et aux besoins des enfants allemands.
Certains personnages, comme Samson et Tiffy (en bas à gauche sur ce timbre) ont été les premiers Muppets spécialement développés pour le public allemand, accompagnant d'autres Muppets comme Bert, Elmo, Macaron le glouton et Ernie, également présents sur ce timbre.
A noter que cette série a également été déjà à l'honneur sur des timbres émis en particulier aux USA et aux Pays-Bas.
Franz a complété son affranchissement avec 3 timbres autocollants identiques (0,10€, émis le 18 décembre 2018) faisant partie de la série courante "fleurs" en cours (débutée en 2005), une fleur d'éranthe d'hiver (Eranthis hyemalis) ici, pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (1,10€) jusqu'à 20g.
The completely new and revolutionary concept of "Sesame Street" was to use television as an educational tool and to prepare children, especially those from low-income families, for school and life.
Human actors, mainly children, were also included in the program and interacted with Jim Henson's puppets (called "Muppets").
The first broadcast of the German version of "Sesame Street" took place on January 8, 1973 on West German television, adapted to the local culture and the needs of German children.
Some characters, such as Samson and Tiffy (bottom left on this stamp) were the first Muppets specially developed for the German public, accompanying other Muppets like Bert, Elmo, Cookie Monster and Ernie, also featured on this stamp.
To note that this series has also already been in the spotlight on stamps issued in particular in the USA and the Netherlands.
Franz completed his postage with 3 identical self-adhesive stamps (€ 0.10, issued on December 18, 2018), being part of the ongoing definitive "flowers" series (started in 2005), a winter aconite flower (Eranthis hyemalis) here, to reach the current rate for a shipment (up to 20g) in Europe (€ 1.10).
