"Winter Olympics - Beijing 2022" stamp on cover from Estonia

Timbre "Jeux olympiques d'hiver - Beijing 2022" sur lettre d'Estonie

L'Estonie participe en tant qu'état indépendant aux jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis 1928 (Saint-Moritz) et la poste estonienne avait émis des timbres consacrés à ces jeux d'hiver pour chaque édition depuis 1994 (Lillehammer).
L'Estonie avait également participé à ces jeux d'hiver en 1936 puis à partir de 1992, les athlètes estoniens représentant l'URSS entre 1956 et 1988.
Le 6 janvier 2022, la poste estonienne a mis en circulation un joli timbre consacré aux 24èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver ("Taliolümpiamängud Peking 2022"), organisés du 4 au 20 février 2022 à Beijing en Chine.
C'est la 2ème fois que la Chine organisait les jeux olympiques après les jeux d'été de 2008 déjà célébrés à Beijing, qui devient ainsi la première ville de l'histoire à avoir accueilli à la fois les jeux olympiques d'été et d'hiver. 
Estonia has participated as an independent state in the Winter Olympics since 1928 (Saint Moritz) and the Estonian Post had issued stamps dedicated to these Winter Games for each edition since 1994 (Lillehammer).
Estonia had also participated in these winter games in 1936 and then from 1992, with Estonian athletes representing the USSR between 1956 and 1988.
On January 6, 2022, the Estonian Post put into circulation a nice stamp dedicated to the 24th Winter Olympic Games ("Taliolümpiamängud Peking 2022"), organized from February 4 to 20, 2022 in Beijing, China.
This is the 2nd time that China has organized the Olympic Games after the 2008 Summer Games already celebrated in Beijing, which thus becomes the first city in history to have hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. 

 

Ce timbre (1,90€, tirage : 20000), conçu par Jaan Saar et imprimé en feuille de 20 timbres, a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 10 mai 2022 depuis la capitale, Tallinn. Merci beaucoup Simone !
Ce timbre, incluant l'emblème de l'équipe olympique estonienne (une flamme aux couleurs du drapeau estonien), représente certains sports au programme de ces jeux : patinage artistique, biathlon, saut à ski et ski acrobatique.
La partie droite du timbre est inspirée d'une scène champêtre typique des anciennes estampes chinoise, avec le site de saut à ski (Ruyi des neiges du Centre de ski nordique et de biathlon près de Zhangjiakou) lors de ces jeux de Beijing, dans le haut.
A Beijing, la délégation estonienne était composée de 26 athlètes (14 hommes, 12 femmes) engagés dans 8 sports, dont le ski acrobatique avec la jeune Kelly Sildaru, la seule médaille (bronze) remportée par l'Estonie, dans l'épreuve de ski slopestyle féminin.
Depuis 1992, l'Estonie a remporté un total de 8 médailles (4 en or) dont 7 en ski de fond.

This stamp, including the emblem of the Estonian Olympic team (a flame in the colors of the Estonian flag), represents certain sports on the program of these games: figure skating, biathlon, ski jumping and freestyle skiing.

The right part of the stamp is inspired by a rural scene typical of ancient Chinese prints, with the ski jumping site (Snow Ruyi of the Nordic Skiing and Biathlon Center near Zhangjiakou) during these Games in Beijing, in the top.

In Beijing, the Estonian delegation was made up of 26 athletes (14 men, 12 women) participating in 8 sports, including freestyle skiing with the young Kelly Sildaru, the only medal (bronze) won by Estonia, in the women's slopestyle event.

Since 1992, Estonia has won a total of 8 medals (4 gold) including 7 in cross-country skiing.
