"Ivan Milev and Ivan Penkov - 125th birth anniversary" s/s (withdrawn from circulation) on FDC from Bulgaria

Bloc-feuillet "125 ans de la naissance d'Ivan Milev et Ivan Penkov" (retiré de la circulation) sur FDC de Bulgarie

Le 22 décembre 2022, la poste bulgare a dévoilé un très joli bloc-feuillet (2 timbres) consacré au 125ème anniversaire de la naissance de 2 grands artistes, Ivan Milev et Ivan Penkov, dans la galerie de l'Académie nationale des Arts à Sofia.
La mention de cette Académie nationale des Arts figure dans la marge à droite, la marge à gauche faisant référence au 80ème anniversaire de l'Union des artistes bulgares (SBH - avec présence de son logo).
Or, cette Union des artistes bulgares n'a été officiellement créée qu'en 1944 (elle existait depuis 1893 mais sous un autre nom) et donc ne fêtera son 80ème anniversaire qu'en 2024...
Lorsque cette erreur fut décelée, ce bloc-feuillet a été retiré de la circulation, certains collectionneurs ayant toutefois pu se le procurer et le faire voyager sur du courrier. 
On December 22, 2022, the Bulgarian Post unveiled a very nice souvenir sheet (2 stamps) dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of two great artists, Ivan Milev and Ivan Penkov, in the gallery of the National Academy of Arts in Sofia.
The mention of this National Academy of Arts appears in the right margin, the left margin referring to the 80th anniversary of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (SBH - with the presence of its logo).
However, this Union of Bulgarian Artists was only officially created in 1944 (it existed since 1893 but under a different name) and therefore will not celebrate its 80th anniversary until 2024...
When this error was detected, this souvenir sheet was withdrawn from circulation, although some collectors were able to obtain it and send it on the mail.

 

Je fais partie des heureux destinataires d'une de ces lettres, envoyée en recommandé et affranchie avec cette version erronée du bloc-feuillet (conception : Svetlin Balezdrov, tirage : 5100), avec son TAD Premier Jour de Sofia. Merci beaucoup Borislav !
Ces 2 timbres (1,90 et 2,30 leva) reproduisent des œuvres des 2 artistes exposées dans le musée de cette Académie nationale des Arts, en particulier une peinture intitulée "Amour maternel. A partir d'un apocryphe bogomile, devise 'Padishah' " (vers 1920) par Ivan Milev (1897-1927).
Je n'ai pas réussi à identifier l'oeuvre d'Ivan Penkov reproduite sur l'autre timbre...
Ivan Milev (dont le portrait figure sur les billets de banque de 5 leva) était un peintre et scénographe, considéré comme le fondateur du mouvement artistique "La Sécession bulgare" et un représentant majeur de la modernité. 
Ivan Penkov (1897-1957) fut un autre artiste bulgare de premier plan, scénographe, peintre, illustrateur, l'un des plus brillants représentants du mouvement "Art Natif" né au début des années 1920 et visant à transcrire la patrimoine et la culture bulgare dans les beaux-arts.

I am one of the happy recipients of one of these letters, sent by registered mail and franked with this erroneous version of the souvenir sheet (design: Svetlin Balezdrov, print run: 5,100), with its First Day cancellation from Sofia. Thank you very much Borislav!

These two stamps (1.90 and 2.30 leva) reproduce works by the two artists exhibited in the museum of this National Academy of Arts, in particular a painting entitled "Maternal love. From one Bogomil apocrypha, the motto 'Padishah' " (circa 1920) by Ivan Milev (1897-1927).

I did not manage to identify the work of Ivan Penkov reproduced on the other stamp...

Ivan Milev (whose portrait appears on the 5 leva banknotes) was a painter and scenographer, considered the founder of the artistic movement "The Bulgarian Secession" and a major representative of modernity.

Ivan Penkov (1897-1957) was another leading Bulgarian artist, scenographer, painter, illustrator, one of the most brilliant representatives of the "Native Art" movement born in the early 1920s and aimed at transcribing the heritage and culture Bulgarian in the fine arts.

 

Ivan Penkov s'est illustré dans différents domaines artistiques à travers des projets de tapis, de décors de théâtre, d'affiches, de mobilier en fer forgé ou de vitraux.

Ivan Penkov a été président de l'Union des artistes bulgares entre 1945 et 1947.
Ci-dessus la version corrigée de ce bloc-feuillet (la marge à gauche mentionnant le 80ème anniversaire de l'Union des artistes bulgares a été retirée) remise en circulation début janvier 2023 (je ne connais pas la date exacte).

Ivan Penkov has distinguished himself in various artistic fields through projects for carpets, theater sets, posters, wrought iron furniture and stained glass.

Ivan Penkov was president of the Union of Bulgarian Artists between 1945 and 1947.

Above is the corrected version of this souvenir sheet (the left margin mentioning the 80th anniversary of the Union of Bulgarian Artists has been removed) put back into circulation at the beginning of January 2023 (I don't know the exact date).
