La ville allemande d'Oberhausen (Land de Rhénanie-du-nord-Westphalie) n'est pas connue uniquement pour son poulpe Paul, le fameux pronostiqueur des matchs de la récente coupe du monde de football, mais aussi pour son passé industriel riche au coeur de la région de la Ruhr...
Dans le cadre du projet "RUHR.2010-Capitale européenne de la culture", la ville d'Oberhausen organise de nombreuses manifestations culturelles, en particulier dans l'ancien gazomètre (117 mètres de haut !) reconverti en espace d'expositions d'art contemporain.
Ce gazomètre figure sur l'illustration à gauche sur la lettre ci-dessous, postée le 31 juillet 2010 d'Oberhausen. Merci beaucoup Igor :-)
The German city of Oberhausen (Land of North Rhine-Westphalia) is not only known for its octopus Paul, the famous prognosticator of the matches of the recent FIFA World Cup, but also for its rich industrial past in the heart of the Ruhr Region...
As part of the project "RUHR.2010-European Capital of Culture", the city of Oberhausen organizes many cultural events, in particular in the former Gasometer (117 meters high !) converted into exhibition space of contemporary art.

Cette illustration évoque également les 35 ans de l'association locale des jeunes amis philatélistes et la semaine "Local Hero", un festival culturel et musical organisé du 25 au 31 juillet 2010 dans plusieurs sites emblématiques de la ville.L'oblitération spéciale, qui mentionne aussi ce festival, comporte une illustration de l'entrée du parc d'attraction "CentrO Park" situé près du CentrO, l'un des plus grands centres commerciaux d'Europe.
Igor a choisi un très joli timbre gravé, émis le 7 septembre 2006, commémorant le 650ème anniversaire de la fondation des villes hanséatiques.
Des représentant de plusieurs villes de commerce se réunirent en effet en 1356 à Lübeck afin de s'entendre sur une stratégie commune pour faire valoir leurs intérêts commerciaux. La puissante Ligue des villes hanséatiques fut ainsi créée, regroupant plus de 200 villes à son apogée vers 1400.
A noter que ce timbre constitue une émission commune avec la Suède (mentions en allemand et en suédois sur les 2 timbres).
This illustration also evokes the 35th anniversary of the local association of young stamp collectors and the "Local Hero" Week, a cultural and musical festival held from 25 to 31 July 2010 in different landmarks of the city.
The special cancellation, which also mentions this festival, includes an illustration of the entrance of the "CentrO Park", an amusement park located near the CentrO, one of the largest shopping malls in Europe.
Igor has chosen a very nice engraved stamp, issued on September 7, 2006, commemorating the 650th anniversary of the founding of the Hanseatic cities.
Some representatives of several commercial cities gathered indeed in 1356 in Lübeck to agree on a common strategy to promote their commercial interests. The powerful Hanseatic League was then founded, bringing together more than 200 cities at its peak around 1400.
To note that this stamp is a joint issue with Sweden (words in German and Swedish on both stamps).
