Basse-Normandie comme j'aime...

The way I like Lower Normandy Region...

Après la flore en 2009 et la gastronomie en 2010, la poste française a émis cette année (le 30 mai 2011) deux nouveaux carnets autocollants, composés de 12 timbres chacun, consacrés aux fêtes et traditions populaires des différentes régions de France (Est et Ouest).
Comme les 2 années précédentes, 24 collectors (composés de 10 timbres personnalisés chacun) ont à nouveau été émis à cette occasion, consacrés au patrimoine historique, artisanal, culturel ou gastronomique des 22 régions de France + Paris + Guyane.
After Flora in 2009 and Gastronomy in 2010, the French Post has issued this year (on May 30, 2011) two new self-adhesive booklets, consisting of 12 stamps each, devoted to folk traditions and festivals from the different regions of France (East and West).
Like the previous two years, 24 collectors (composed of 10 personalized stamps each) were again issued at this occasion, devoted to the historical, craft, cultural and gastronomic heritage of the 22 regions of France + Paris + French Guyana.

Stéphane a eu la gentillesse de m'envoyer le souvenir de Caen (Calvados) ci-dessus affranchi avec un des 10 timbres du collector régional dédié à la région de Basse-Normandie. Merci beaucoup :-)
Le même timbre à date (sans mention Premier Jour) qu'en 2009 et 2010 a à nouveau été proposé cette année au public, en forme de coeur avec à l'intérieur la mention "Basse-Normandie comme j'aime".
A noter que les 3 autres villes de Port en Bessin (14), Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue (50) et Le-Pin-au-Haras (61) ont également organisé cette prévente le 28 mai 2011 dans cette même région.
Le timbre-photo à validité permanente ci-dessus, montre l'abbaye aux Hommes, construite entre le 11ème et le 18ème siècle, à Caen, préfecture de la région Basse-Normandie.
Une partie de cet édifice, fondé par Guillaume le Conquérant, est depuis 1965 le siège de la mairie de Caen.
Comme vous pouvez le constater, l'amateurisme de la poste française a encore frappé puisqu'une oblitération mécanique (PPDC de Verson 41638A) également été appliquée le 30 mai 2011 sur ce pli... désespérant :((
Stéphane was kind enough to send me the stamp souvenir from Caen (department of Calvados) above franked with one of the 10 stamps part of the regional collector dedicated to the region of Basse-Normandie (Lower Normandy). Thank you very much :-)
The same special cancellation (without "First Day" mention) used in 2009 and 2010 was again offered to the public this year, heart-shaped with the words "Basse-Normandie comme j'aime" ("The way I like Lower Normandy") inside.
To note that the three other cities of Port en Bessin (14), Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue (50) and Le-Pin-au-Haras (61) also organized this preview sale on May 28, 2011 in this same region.
The (Permanent validity) stamp above, depicts the Abbaye-aux-Hommes, built between the 11th and 18th century, at Caen, capital of Lower Normandy Region.
A part of this building, founded by William the Conqueror, is the seat since 1965 of the town hall of Caen.
As you can see, the amateurism of the French Post has struck again since a mechanical cancellation (41638A - Mail Plateform of Verson) was also applied on May 30, 2011 on this cover... really despairing :((
