Ce timbre reproduit une partie de la fresque "La naissance de Jésus" située dans l'église de l'Assomption de la petite ville de Marija Bistrica, proche de Zagreb.

The two versions (gummed and self-adhesive) of the new Christmas ("Božić" in Croatian) stamp, issued on November 3, 2011, appear in the upper right.
This stamp reproduces a detail of the fresco "The Birth of Jesus" located in the Church of Mary's Assumption of the small town of Marija Bistrica, near Zagreb.
Marija Bistrica est un célèbre lieu de pèlerinage marial en Croatie, en particulier grâce à sa Vierge Noire mais c'est aussi un espace de création culturelle et artistique important dans le pays.La fresque évoquée sur ce timbre fait ainsi partie d'un ensemble d'oeuvres exécutées par certains des plus grands artistes croates contemporains, comme Željko Hegedušić et Eugen Kokot, les deux auteurs de cette peinture datant de 2009.
Ces 2 artistes font partie du groupe "Terre" qui avait l'intention de mettre l'art figuratif au service de la justice sociale...
Dragan a également utilisé un timbre (et sa vignette attenante), émis le 14 février 2011, consacré au festival international des enfants de Šibenik, créé en 1958.
Ce timbre, incluant la mention "Dječji svijet" ("le monde des enfants"), reproduit un dessin de Sabina Resic intitulé "enfant avec ballons multicolores".
Marija Bistrica is a famous Marian place of pilgrimage in Croatia, in particular with its Black Madonna but it is also an important cultural and artistic creation place in the country.
The fresco featured on this stamp is indeed part of a series of works performed by some of the greatest contemporary Croatian artists, such as Željko Hegedušić and Eugen Kokot, the two authors of this painting dating from 2009.
These two artists are members of the group "Earth" which had the intention of putting figurative art in the service of social justice...
Dragan has also used a stamp (and its attached label), issued on February 14, 2011, dedicated to the International Children's Festival of Šibenik, established in 1958.
This stamp, including the words "Dječji svijet" ("Children's world"), reproduces a drawing by Sabina Resic entitled "Child with multicolor balloons".
