"100 years of diplomatic relations with Brazil" stamp on cover from Poland

Timbre "100 ans de relations diplomatiques avec le Brésil" sur lettre de Pologne

Le 19 novembre 2020, la poste polonaise a mis en circulation un timbre (4 PLN, tirage : 135000) consacré au 100ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre la Pologne et le Brésil.
Dès le milieu du 19ème siècle, le Brésil a montré des signes de générosité et de gentillesse envers les polonais. La nombreuse émigration, actuellement plus de 2 millions de personnes (installées principalement dans l'état de Paraná), montre que le Brésil garantissait aux polonais des opportunités de développement, la liberté et les conditions de réalisation des aspirations de vie à cette époque.
Les bénéfices étaient mutuels, car de nombreux chercheurs, voyageurs, ingénieurs, médecins et artistes polonais ont contribué alors de manière significative au développement économique et scientifique du Brésil.
La question de la lutte pour l'indépendance de la Pologne au début du 20ème siècle a suscité de la sympathie dans le lointain Brésil.  
On November 19, 2020, the Polish Post put into circulation a stamp (4 PLN, print run: 135,000) dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Brazil.
As early as the middle of the 19th century, Brazil showed signs of generosity and kindness towards the Poles. The numerous emigration, currently more than 2 million people (settled mainly in the state of Paraná), shows that Brazil guaranteed to the Poles the opportunities of development, the freedom and the conditions of realization of their aspirations of life at that time.
The benefits were mutual, because many Polish researchers, travelers, engineers, doctors and artists then contributed significantly to the economic and scientific development of Brazil.
The question of the struggle for Polish independence at the beginning of the 20th century aroused sympathy in far-off Brazil.

 

Dès le début de 1920, il y avait un consulat polonais à Curitiba et, en avril 1920, la première légation polonaise est arrivée au Brésil, avant l'officialisation des relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays le 27 mai 1920.
Ce timbre polonais, reproduisant le logo officiel de ce 100ème anniversaire, conçu par l'artiste brésilien Alessandro Nogueira Beda, a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 12 janvier 2021 depuis la ville de Łosice. Merci beaucoup Grzegorz ! 
Ce logo est simplement constitué du nombre 100 et d'un ruban arborant les couleurs des drapeaux de la Pologne et du Brésil.
Ce timbre n'est malheureusement pas une émission commune avec le Brésil où un timbre personnalisé à toutefois été émis (je ne connais pas la date exacte), représentant le pape Jean-Paul II (100 ans de sa naissance) et un logo proche de celui reproduit sur le timbre polonais, dans sa partie inférieure.

From the beginning of 1920, there was a Polish consulate in Curitiba and, in April 1920, the first Polish legation arrived in Brazil, before the formalization of diplomatic relations between the 2 countries on May 27, 1920.

This Polish stamp, reproducing the official logo of this 100th anniversary, designed by Brazilian artist Alessandro Nogueira Beda, was used on this letter sent on January 12, 2021 from the city of Łosice. Thank you very much Grzegorz!

This logo is simply made up of the number 100 and a ribbon featuring the colors of the flags of Poland and Brazil.

This stamp is unfortunately not a joint issue with Brazil where a personalized stamp has however been issued (I do not know the exact date), representing Pope John Paul II (100 years since his birth) and a logo close to the one reproduced on the Polish stamp, in its lower part.
