Bloc-feuillet "Aeronautica Militare - 100 ans", commun avec l'Italie et l'OSMM, sur lettre du Vatican
L'Aeronautica Militare ("Aéronautique Militaire") est le nom actuel (depuis 1946) de la force armée aérienne italienne, créée en 1923 par le gouvernement Mussolini, sous le nom "Regia Aeronautica" ("Aéronautique royale"), afin de récompenser la bravoure des forces aériennes italiennes lors de la première guerre mondiale.
Le 23 mars 2023, les 3 administrations postales d'Italie, de la Cité du Vatican et de l'Ordre Souverain Militaire de Malte (OSMM) ont mis en circulation un intéressant bloc-feuillet commun consacré au 100ème anniversaire de la création de l'Aeronautica Militare.
La version vaticane de ce bloc-feuillet (2,40€, tirage : 36500), imprimé en France par Cartor Security Printing, a été utilisée sur cette lettre envoyée le 3 mai 2023 depuis la Cité du Vatican. Merci beaucoup Salvatore !
The Aeronautica Militare ("Military Aeronautics") is the current name (since 1946) of the Italian air force, created in 1923 by the Mussolini government, under the name "Regia Aeronautica" ("Royal Aeronautics"), in order to reward the bravery of the Italian Air Force during the First World War.
On March 23, 2023, the three postal administrations of Italy, Vatican City and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) put into circulation an interesting joint souvenir sheet dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Aeronautica Militare.
The Vatican version of this souvenir sheet (€2.40, print run: 36,500), printed in France by Cartor Security Printing, was used on this cover sent on May 3, 2023 from the Vatican City. Thank you very much Salvatore!

Ce bloc-feuillet a été conçu à partir d'une photographie faisant partie des Archives Magistrales de l'Ordre Souverain Militaire de Malte, permettant de réunir l'Italie, le Vatican
et l'Ordre Souverain Militaire de Malte dans une perspective tout à fait pacifiste.
Les
trois avions qui survolent Rome et la Cité du Vatican sont des avions trimoteurs
Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 de l'armée de l'air italienne.
Suite au traité
de paix de Paris du 10 février 1947 et à la mise en œuvre de la clause
d'armement qui impose à l'Italie une réduction drastique des moyens et
des effectifs, ces avions sont réimmatriculés sous la bannière de
l'Ordre Souverain de Malte (insigne de la Croix de Malte sur la partie arrière, à côté du drapeau italien).
Environ 720 de ces appareils ont été construits entre 1939 et les années 1960, utilisés en particulier pendant la 2ème guerre mondiale, pour le bombardement et le transport.

This souvenir sheet was designed from a photograph being part of the Magistral Archives of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, bringing together Italy, the Vatican City and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in a wholly pacifist perspective.
The three planes flying over Rome and the Vatican City are Italian Air Force Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 three-engine aircraft.
Following the Paris Peace Treaty of February 10, 1947 and the implementation of the arms clause which imposed on Italy a drastic reduction in means and personnel, these aircraft were re-registered under the banner of the Sovereign Order of Malta (insignia of the Maltese Cross on the back, next to the Italian flag).
About 720 of these aircraft were built between 1939 and the 1960s, used in particular during the 2nd World War, for bombing and transport.
