"100 years of the Uruguayan Olympic Committee" stamps on FDC from Uruguay

Timbres "100 ans du comité olympique uruguayen" sur FDC d'Uruguay

En présence de Thomas Bach, champion olympique au fleuret par équipes en 1976 pour l'Allemagne et actuel président du Comité international olympique (CIO) et de Julio Maglione, président du comité olympique uruguayen, la poste uruguayenne a mis en circulation, le 23 octobre 2023, un timbre consacré au 100ème anniversaire du comité olympique uruguayen ("Centenario del Comité Olímpico Uruguayo").
Ce timbre (32 pesos, tirage : 5004, conception : Daniel Pereyra), imprimé en feuillet de 9 timbres, figure en 3 exemplaires sur le FDC ci-dessous, envoyé le 1er février 2024 depuis la ville de Sarandi Grande. Merci beaucoup Jorge !
A travers ce timbre, le président du Comité olympique uruguayen a souligné que "la valeur du sport, en ce qui concerne l'éducation et la santé, est un élément fondamental pour le développement et le progrès de chacun des pays du monde". 
In the presence of Thomas Bach, Olympic team foil champion in 1976 for Germany and current president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Julio Maglione, president of the Uruguayan Olympic committee, the Uruguayan Post has put into circulation on October 23 2023, a stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Uruguayan Olympic Committee ("Centenario del Comité Olímpico Uruguayo").
This stamp (32 pesos, print run: 5,004, design: Daniel Pereyra), printed in a sheetlet of 9 stamps, is present in three copies on the FDC below, sent on February 1, 2024 from the city of Sarandi Grande. Thank you very much Jorge!
Through this stamp, the president of the Uruguayan Olympic Committee emphasized that "the value of sport, with regard to education and health, is a fundamental element for the development and progress of each country in the world."

Ce timbre comporte un portrait de Thomas Bach et de Pierre de Coubertin, rénovateur des jeux olympiques de l'ère moderne en 1894 et fondateur du Comité international olympique.
Des anneaux olympiques (bleu et or pour rappeler le couleurs du drapeau national) ainsi que le logo de ce centenaire du comité olympique uruguayen figurent également sur ce timbre.
Le TAD Premier Jour montre une athlète franchissant la ligne d'arrivée, peut-être Déborah Rodríguez, spécialiste du 800 mètres, qui a participé aux jeux olympiques de Tokyo 2020 pour l'Uruguay.
L'Uruguay a participé aux jeux olympiques d'été pour la première fois à Paris en 1924, remportant la médaille d'or en football (idem pour les jeux suivants à Amsterdam en 1928).
A noter que l'Uruguay n'a plus remporté de médaille d'or olympique depuis 1928, sa dernière médaille (argent) datant des jeux olympiques de Sydney en 2000.

Olympic rings (blue and gold to recall the colors of the national flag) as well as the logo of this centenary of the Uruguayan Olympic committee also appear on this stamp.
The First Day cancellation shows an athlete crossing the finish line, possibly Déborah Rodríguez, 800 meters' specialist, who competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games for Uruguay.
Uruguay participated in the Summer Olympics for the first time in Paris in 1924, winning the gold medal in football (same for the following games in Amsterdam in 1928).
To note that Uruguay has not won an Olympic gold medal since 1928, its last medal (silver) dating from the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.
