Après une opération postale spéciale pour le nouvel an 2019, consistant à l'envoi de cartes de vœux depuis la Principauté d'Andorre, l'association philatélique Philapostel a eu cette année l'idée originale d'organiser un envoi de cartes de vœux pour l'année 2020 depuis Paris et le Palais Bourbon plus précisément !
Un TAD spécial, une carte et une enveloppe ont en particulier été mis en circulation le 1er janvier 2020 et j'ai eu la chance de recevoir les exemplaires ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Jean-Claude et Axel !
L'illustration sur cette enveloppe, avec mention "Bonne Année 2020", conçue par Joël Lemaine, représente l'entrée méridionale du Palais Bourbon, l'édifice construit entre 1722 et 1728 qui abrite l'Assemblée nationale.
After a special postal operation for the New Year 2019, consisting of sending greeting cards from the Principality of Andorra, the philatelic association Philapostel had this original idea this year to organize a sending of greeting cards for the year 2020 from Paris and the Palais Bourbon more precisely!
A special postmark, a card and an envelope were in particular put into circulation on January 1, 2020 and I was lucky enough to receive the envelopes below. Thank you very much Jean-Claude and Axel!
The illustration on this envelope, with the mention "Happy New Year 2020", designed by Joël Lemaine, is featuring the southern entrance to the Palais Bourbon, the building built between 1722 and 1728 which houses the French National Assembly.
L'Assemblée nationale, ou chambre des députés, est l'institution française qui forme, avec le Sénat, le Parlement français.
Sur cette illustration, l'horloge qui domine cette entrée située sur la place du Palais-Bourbon avec, au 1er plan, une statue en marbre intitulée "La Loi" (1854) par le sculpteur et médailleur Jean-Jacques Feuchère (1807-1852).
Cette illustration évoque également le passage du 31 décembre 2019 au 1er janvier 2020.
Idem sur le TAD avec mention "Meilleurs vœux pour 2020", appliqué sur cette enveloppe, affranchie avec un des 12 timbres ("Lettre Verte") du carnet "Ensemble sauvons notre patrimoine" mis en circulation le 13 septembre 2019.
Ce timbre représente une vue aérienne du château de Lassay, datant du 15ème siècle, situé sur la commune de Lassay-les-Châteaux (Mayenne).

On this illustration, the clock which dominates this entrance located on the Place du Palais-Bourbon with, in the foreground, a marble statue entitled "La Loi" (1854) by the sculptor and medalist Jean-Jacques Feuchère (1807-1852).
This illustration also evokes the transition from December 31, 2019 to January 1, 2020.

This stamp depicst an aerial view of the castle of Lassay, dating from the 15th century, located in the town of Lassay-les-Châteaux (Mayenne).

Un des timbres de ce même carnet a été utilisé sur l'enveloppe ci-dessus, consacré à un autre château, le château de Bouteville (Charente).
Ce château a été l'une des plus importantes places fortes de Charente au Moyen Age et l'un de ses plus fastueux châteaux au 17ème siècle.
Délaissé depuis le 19ème siècle, il a été sélectionné, comme le château de Lassay, dans le cadre de la mission Bern "Patrimoine en péril" afin de récolter des fonds pour le sauvegarder, en partenariat avec la Fondation du Patrimoine.
One of the stamps from this same booklet was used on the envelope above, dedicated to another castle, the castle of Bouteville (Charente).
This castle was one of the most important strongholds of Charente in the Middle Ages and one of its most sumptuous castles in the 17th century.
Abandoned since the 19th century, it was selected, like the castle of Lassay, within the framework of the Bern mission "Heritage in danger" in order to collect funds to safeguard it, in partnership with the French Heritage Foundation ("Fondation du Patrimoine").
