"Raffaello Sanzio (1483-1520)" souvenir sheet on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Le 14 décembre 2020, la Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), le 2ème opérateur postal désigné (l'autre étant la poste kirghize) du Kirghizstan, a mis en circulation une jolie série consacrée à différentes personnalités, dont un splendide bloc-feuillet consacré au 500ème anniversaire de la mort du célèbre peintre et architecte italien de la Renaissance, Raffaello Sanzio ou Raphaël (1483-1520).
Pour rappel, plusieurs administrations postales (France, Vatican, Italie, Saint-Marin, SMOM, Liechtenstein, Macédoine du Nord, Bulgarie, Moldavie...) ont mis en circulation des timbres en 2020 évoquant ce thème.
Considéré de son vivant comme un être quasi divin, Raffaello Sanzio incarne la perfection classique de l'art de la Renaissance et une référence majeure de la peinture occidentale.
En 1504, il réalisait son premier chef-d'œuvre, "Le Mariage de la Vierge" puis un séjour à Florence lui permit de s'initier à l'art de ses illustres aînés comme Léonard de Vinci et Michel-Ange. 
On December 14, 2020, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator (the other being the Kyrgyz Post) of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation a  nice stamp set dedicated to different personalities, including a beautiful souvenir sheet dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the death of the famous Italian painter and architect of the Renaissance, Raffaello Sanzio (1483-1520).
As a reminder, several postal administrations (France, Vatican, Italy, San Marino, SMOM, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Moldova ...) put into circulation stamps in 2020 about this topic.
Considered during his lifetime as an almost divine being, Raffaello Sanzio embodies the classical perfection of Renaissance art and a major reference in Western painting.
In 1504, he produced his first masterpiece, "The Marriage of the Virgin", then a stay in Florence allowed him to learn art from his illustrious elders such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.

 

Établi à Rome en 1508, il reçut la prestigieuse commande du décor de fresques des appartements du pape Jules II au Vatican et fut par la suite nommé architecte de la nouvelle basilique Saint-Pierre.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir le FDC officiel ci-dessus (tirage : 250) concernant ce bloc-feuillet (250 KGS, tirage : 3500), conçu par Vladimir Melnic, avec TAD de Bichkek.
Le timbre de ce bloc-feuillet reproduit un dessin d'un jeune homme (vers 1500, Ashmolean Museum à Oxford) souvent considéré comme un autoportrait de Raphaël.
La vignette en haut à gauche est consacré à la Madone du Grand-Duc (vers 1505, Galerie Palatine du palais Pitti à Florence) alors que la vignette dans la partie inférieure reproduit des détails de 3 autres madones (de gauche à droite) : La Petite Madone Cowper (vers 1505, National Gallery of Art de Washington), La Vierge au chardonneret (vers 1506, Galerie des Offices à Florence) et La Madone à la prairie (vers 1506, Musée d'Histoire de l'art à Vienne).
Established in Rome in 1508, he received the prestigious commission to decorate the frescoes of the apartments of Pope Julius II in the Vatican and was subsequently appointed architect of the new St. Peter's Basilica. 
I was lucky enough to receive the above official FDC (print run: 250) regarding this souvenir sheet (250 KGS, print run: 3,500), designed by Vladimir Melnic, with postmarks from Bishkek.
The stamp on this souvenir sheet reproduces a drawing of a young man (circa 1500, Ashmolean Museum in Oxford) often considered as a Rafaello Sanzio self-portrait.
The coupon at the top left is dedicated to the Madonna del Granduca (circa 1505, Palatine Gallery of the Pitti Palace in Florence) while the coupon at the bottom reproduces details of three other Madonnas (from left to right): The Small Cowper Madonna (circa 1505, National Gallery of Art in Washington), The Madonna of the Goldfinch (circa 1506, Uffizi Gallery in Florence) and The Madonna of the Meadow (circa 1506, Museum of Art History in Vienna).

 

La KEP a également mis en circulation la jolie carte maximum ci-dessus (n° MC-66, tirage : 250) concernant le timbre de ce bloc-feuillet.
Cette carte a été conçue à partir d'un autoportrait de Raffaello Sanzio datant de 1506 (Galerie des Offices à Florence).
