"Winter Olympics - Beijing 2022" stamp set on cover from Slovenia

Série "Jeux olympiques d'hiver - Beijing 2022" sur lettre de Slovénie

A Beijing (Chine), pour sa 9ème participation à des jeux olympiques d'hiver (depuis Albertville en 1992), la délégation slovène était composée de 42 athlètes (22 hommes, 20 femmes), engagés dans 6 sports (ski alpin, biathlon, ski de fond, combiné nordique, saut à ski et snowboard).
La Slovénie a remporté 7 médailles (2 or, 3 argent, 2 bronze) soit l'un des meilleurs résultats de son histoire, après les 8 médailles remportées lors des jeux de Sotchi en 2014. Avec ce résultat, la Slovénie est 2ème (après la Norvège) dans le classement des médailles par habitant (1 médaille pour 297000 habitants) !
Le 28 janvier 2022, la poste slovène a mis en circulation une jolie série (2 timbres) consacrée à ces 24èmes jeux d'hiver de Beijing, organisés du 4 au 20 février 2022.
Ces 2 timbres (conception : Zlatko Drčar), imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 6 timbres (3 de chaque) + 3 vignettes centrales ("Beijing 2022", logo du comité olympique slovène), figurent sur cette lettre envoyée le 22 février 2022 (22.02.2022 !) depuis Ljubljana. Merci beaucoup Petra !
In Beijing, China, for its 9th participation in the Winter Olympics (since Albertville in 1992), the Slovenian delegation was made up of 42 athletes (22 men, 20 women), involved in 6 sports (alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, ski jumping and snowboarding).
Slovenia won 7 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze) which is one of the best results in its history, after the 8 medals won at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. With this result, Slovenia is 2nd (behind Norway) in the ranking of medals per capita (1 medal for 297,000 inhabitants)!
On January 28, 2022, the Slovenian Post put into circulation a nice series (2 stamps) dedicated to these 24th Beijing Winter Games, organized from February 4 to 20, 2022.
These two stamps (design: Zlatko Drčar), printed in the same sheetlet composed of 6 stamps (3 of each) + 3 central labels ("Beijing 2022", slovenian olympic committee logo), have been used on this cover sent on February 22, 2022 (22.02.2022!) from Ljubljana. Thank you very much Petra!

 

Ces 2 timbres représentent respectivement des épreuves de biathlon (1,33€, tirage : 30000) et de snowboard (1,46€, tirage : 30000), 2 sports dans lesquels les athlètes slovènes ont performé dans le passé (2 médailles en biathlon et 5 médailles en snowboard).
A noter que le biathlète Jakov Fak, médaillé d'argent à PyeongChang en 2018 pour la Slovénie, avait déjà remporté une médaille de bronze à Vancouver en 2010, représentant alors la Croatie.
A Beijing, la star slovène a été Urša Bogataj, double médaillée d'or en saut à ski, en individuel et par équipe mixte (avec ses coéquipiers Nika Križnar, Timi Zajc et Peter Prevc). Nika Križnar a également remporté une médaille de bronze en individuel, Timi Zajc et Peter Prevc ayant remporté aussi une médaille d'argent dans l'épreuve masculine par équipe (avec Lovro Kos et Cene Prevc).
Les 3 autres médailles slovènes ont été remportées par Tim Mastnak (argent en snowboard parallèle masculin), Žan Kranjec (argent en ski alpin, slalom géant) et Gloria Kotnik (bronze en snowboard parallèle féminin).
Le 22 avril 2022, la poste slovène va mettre en circulation un bloc-feuillet célébrant les médailles d'or à Beijing, avec une photographie des 4 athlètes médaillés lors de l'épreuve de saut à ski par équipe mixte.
These 2 stamps respectively feature biathlon (€1.33, print run: 30,000) and snowboarding (€1.46, print run: 30,000) events, 2 sports in which Slovenian athletes have performed in the past (2 medals in biathlon and 5 medals in snowboarding).
To note that biathlete Jakov Fak, silver medalist in PyeongChang in 2018 for Slovenia, had already won a bronze medal in Vancouver in 2010, then representing Croatia.
