Le 30 septembre 2000, 2 jours après la visite d'Ariel Sharon sur l'esplanade des Mosquées et 2ème jour de l'Intifada Al-Aqsa, un cadreur palestinien travaillant pour la chaîne de télévision France 2 filme par intermittence les manifestants et en particulier une scène montrant un graçon de 12 ans, Mohammed al-Durah, atteint mortellement par des balles alors qu'il se blottissait dans les bras de son père.
Ces images font rapidement le tour de la planète et, dans le contexte de l’Intifada, suscitent une émotion considérable, pas seulement dans le monde arabe.
Certaines polémiques concernant cette scène terrible ont été évoquées à l'époque : des commentateurs pro-israéliens alléguèrent que les balles ayant causé la mort de l'enfant auraient pu provenir de palestiniens et une autre théorie, complotiste, affirma qu'il s'agissait d'une mise en scène des palestiniens et que l'enfant n'aurait pas été tué... 
On September 30, 2000, two days after Ariel Sharon's visit to the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem and the second day of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, a Palestinian cameraman working for the France 2 television channel intermittently filmed the demonstrators and in particular a scene showing a 12-year-old boy, Muhammad al-Durrah, fatally shot as he huddled in his father's arms.
These images quickly tour the world and, in the context of the Intifada, arouse considerable emotion, not just in the Arab world.
Some controversy surrounding this terrible scene was raised at the time: pro-Israel commentators alleged that the bullets which caused the death of the child could have come from Palestinians and another, conspiratorial theory, claimed that it was a staging of the Palestinians and that the child was not killed ...

 

En solidarité avec le peuple palestinien suite à ces évènements, de nombreux pays d'Afrique et du Moyen-Orient (Maroc, Tunisie, Égypte, Soudan, Jordanie, Irak, Iran, Arabie Saoudite, Yemen, Palestine) ont émis des timbres reproduisant cette scène, en hommage à ce jeune martyr.
Le 30 mai 2001, la poste tunisienne a mis en circulation un timbre (600 millimes, tirage illimité), conçu par Sonia Chehata, reproduisant cette scène, avec le Dôme du Rocher à Jerusalem au 1er plan, le drapeau palestinien à gauche et la mention "Palestine" en arabe, "écrite avec le sang du martyr". Le drapeau de la Tunisie en bas à droite symbolise la solidarité du pays avec le peuple palestinien.
Ce timbre figure sur l'enveloppe spéciale ci-dessus, envoyée le 30 septembre 2020 depuis Le Bardo, ville située à quelques kilomètres à l'ouest de Tunis, célèbre pour son musée national. Merci beaucoup Mourad !
Cette enveloppe a été conçue spécialement pour commémorer le 20ème anniversaire de la mort en martyr de ce jeune garçon palestinien. 

In solidarity with the Palestinian people following these events, many countries in Africa and the Middle East (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Palestine) issued stamps reproducing this scene, in homage to this young martyr.

On May 30, 2001, the Tunisian Post put into circulation a stamp (600 millimes, unlimited print run), designed by Sonia Chehata, reproducing this scene, with the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem in the foreground, the Palestinian flag on the left and the mention "Palestine" in Arabic, "written with the blood of the martyr". The flag of Tunisia in the lower right symbolizes the country's solidarity with the Palestinian people.

This stamp was used on the special envelope above, sent on September 30, 2020 from Le Bardo, a city located a few kilometers west of Tunis, famous for its national museum. Thank you very much Mourad!

This envelope has been specially designed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the martyrdom of this young Palestinian boy.

 

Mourad a utilisé un 2ème timbre (1000 millimes, tirage : 500000) sur l'autre côté de cette enveloppe ci-dessus, émis le 24 septembre 2012 à l'occasion du 25ème congrès de l'UPU (Union Postale Universelle), organisé du 24 septembre au 15 octobre 2012 à Doha, capitale du Qatar.
Ce timbre, de forme ronde, représente un globe terrestre décoré avec le célèbre logo de l'UPU (le monument de l'UPU à Berne, avec branches d'olivier) "dans un mouvement circulaire pour indiquer l'interaction entre toutes les nations pour servir le secteur postal considéré comme l'un des piliers du cycle économique mondial" d'après un communiqué de la poste tunisienne. 

Mourad used a 2nd stamp (1000 millimes, print run : 500000) on the other side of this envelope above, issued on September 24, 2012 on the occasion of the 25th UPU (Union Postale Universelle) Congress, held from September 24 to October 15, 2012 in Doha , capital of Qatar.

That round-shaped stamp, depicts a globe decorated with the famous UPU logo (the UPU monument in Bern, with olive branches) "in a circular movement to indicate the interaction between all nations to serve the postal sector considered as one of the pillars of the global economic cycle" according to a statement from the Tunisian Post.
