Timbre "Coupe du monde féminine de football 2023" sur lettre d'Australie
Du 20 juillet au 20 août 2023, l'Australie et la Nouvelle-Zélande (dans
10 stades différents) organisaient conjointement la 9ème édition de la Coupe du monde féminine de football, réunissant pour la première fois 32 équipes.
Les
administrations postales des 2 pays ont émis des timbres consacrés à
cette compétition internationale de premier plan, un bloc-feuillet
composé de 2 timbres pour la Nouvelle-Zélande et un timbre unique pour l'Australie.
Ce timbre australien (1,20$, conception : Sharon Rodziewicz), imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, émis le 11 juillet 2023, a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur cette lettre envoyée le 31 juillet 2023 depuis Runaway Bay, quartier de la ville de Gold Coast (Queensland). Merci beaucoup Vera !
La mascotte de cette compétition, Tazuni, un pingouin énergique et passionné de football, est représentée sur ce timbre.
From July 20 to August 20, 2023,
Australia and New Zealand (in 10 different stadiums) jointly hosted
the 9th edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup, bringing together 32 teams for the first time.
The postal administrations of the two countries have issued stamps dedicated to this leading international competition, a souvenir sheet consisting of 2 stamps for New Zealand and a single stamp for Australia.
This Australian stamp ($1.20, design: Sharon Rodziewicz), printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, issued on July 11, 2023, was used in two copies on this cover sent on July 31, 2023 from Runaway Bay, part of the city of Gold Coast (Queensland). Thank you very much Vera!
The mascot of this competition, Tazuni, an energetic and football-loving penguin, is represented on this stamp.
Tazuni est plus précisément un manchot pygmée (Eudyptula minor), une espèce endémique à la Nouvelle-Zélande et l'Australie. Tazuni est une combinaison de son lieu d'habitation dans la mer de Tasmanie et de "l'unité", une valeur clé de cette compétition.

d'artistes australiens et néo-zélandais.A noter que le logo officiel de cette Coupe du monde ne figure pas sur ce timbre (il est présent sur l'enveloppe Premier Jour officielle).
L'Australie a fini cette compétition (remportée par l'Espagne) à la 4ème place, battue par la Suède dans le match pour la 3ème place.
Le timbre en haut à gauche (70c) fait partie d'une série commune (4 timbres) avec Singapour, émise le 6 août 1998, consacrée à différentes espèces d'orchidées des 2 pays, l'orchidée bambou (Arundina graminifolia) ici. A noter que Vera a curieusement utilisé ici la version singapourienne de ce timbre commun...
Le 3ème timbre (20c, plantation d'ananas) est un timbre courant émis en 2012, réimprimé à plusieurs reprises. Sauf erreur, le nombre de koalas et kangourous présents dans les marges (cf exemple ci-dessus) permettent d'identifier précisément cette réimpression.
Tazuni is more precisely a little penguin (Eudyptula minor), a species endemic to New Zealand and Australia. Tazuni is a combination of its home in the Tasman Sea and "unity", a key value of this competition.
The stamp's colorful branding elements are based on works by Australian and New Zealand artists.
To note that the official logo of this World Cup does not appear on this stamp (it is present on the official First Day cover).
Australia finished this competition (won by Spain) in 4th place, beaten by Sweden in the match for 3rd place.
The stamp at the top left (70c) is part of a joint series (4 stamps) with Singapore, issued on August 6, 1998, dedicated to different species of orchids from the two countries, Bamboo orchid (Arundina graminifolia) here. To note that Vera curiously used here the Singaporean version of this joint stamp...
The 3rd stamp (20c, pineapple plantation) is a definitive stamp issued in 2012, reprinted several times. Unless I'm mistaken, the number of koalas and kangaroos present in the margins (see example above) makes it possible to precisely identify this reprint.
