Les Nations Unies (en collaboration avec la FAO) ont proclamé 2020 "Année internationale de la santé des végétaux" (AISV) afin de sensibiliser le monde entier à la manière dont la protection phytosanitaire peut contribuer à éliminer la faim, à réduire la pauvreté, à protéger l'environnement et à stimuler le développement économique.
D'après la FAO, les végétaux représentent 80% des aliments que nous consommons et produisent 98% de l'oxygène que nous respirons. Pourtant, ils subissent la menace constante et croissante des ravageurs et des maladies (chaque année, jusqu'à 40% des cultures vivrières mondiales sont détruites).
Cette thématique sera illustrée cette année sur des timbres (Suisse, Luxembourg, Moldavie, Nations Unies, Vatican, Lettonie, Portugal, Turquie, Serbie, Italie, Tunisie, Kirghizstan, Corée du sud, Finlande...), des oblitérations spéciales (Moldavie), des cartes pré-timbrées (Pologne), des timbres de distributeurs (Espagne) ou encore des pièces de 2€ commémoratives (Belgique).
The United Nations (in collaboration with FAO) declared 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health (IYPH), an opportunity to raise global awareness on how protecting plant health can help end hunger, reduce poverty, protect the environment, and boost economic development.

This theme will be illustrated this year on stamps (Switzerland, Luxembourg, Moldova, United Nations, Vatican City, Latvia, Portugal, Turkey, Serbia, Italy, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Finland ...), special cancellations (Moldova), prepaid cards (Poland), ATM stamps (Spain) or € 2.00 commemorative coins (Belgium).
Le 4 avril 2020, la poste kirghize, l'un des 2 opérateurs postaux désignés (l'autre étant la Kyrgyz Express Post) du Kirghizstan, a mis en circulation un timbre (98 KGS, tirage : 5250) pour illustrer cette thématique, avec présence du logo officiel de cette Année internationale de la santé des végétaux.
Ce timbre a été imprimé en feuillet de 6 timbres et comme usuellement, une version non dentelée de ce timbre existe en tirage limité (750 seulement).
Ce timbre, représentant des fleurs d'edelweiss (Leontopodium) avec des montagnes dans le fond, a été utilisé sur cette jolie lettre envoyée en recommandé le 25 juin 2020 depuis Bichkek. Merci beaucoup Anatolii !
L'edelweiss est une des plus célèbres plantes de montagne, en Europe et Asie (entre 1270 à 3000 mètres d'altitude), en partie en raison de sa rareté.
On April 4, 2020, the Kyrgyz Post, one of the two designated postal operators (the other one being the Kyrgyz Express Post) of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation a stamp (KGS 98, print tun: 5,250) to illustrate this theme, with presence of the official logo of this International Year of Plant Health.
This stamp was printed on a sheetlet of 6 stamps and as usual, an imperforated version of this stamp exists in a limited edition (750 only).
This stamp, depicting edelweiss flowers (Leontopodium) with mountains in the background, was used on this pretty letter sent by registered mail on June 25, 2020 from Bishkek. Thank you very much Anatolii!
Edelweiss is one of the most famous mountain plants in Europe and Asia (between 1270 and 3000 meters above sea level), partly because of its rarity.
