"Tokyo 2020 Olympics - Serghei Tarnovschi" overprinted stamp on FDC from Moldova

Timbre surchargé "JO Tokyo 2020 - Serghei Tarnovschi" sur FDC de Moldavie

Le 7 août 2021, avant-dernier jour de la 32ème olympiade à Tokyo 2020, organisés du 23 juillet au 8 août 2021 (à cause de la pandémie mondiale de Covid-19), la poste moldave avait mis en circulation 2 timbres illustrant 2 disciplines sportives, la lutte et le canoë-kayak (course en ligne).
Ces 2 timbres (1,75 L et 15,50 L, tirage : 25000 chacun), conçus par Vitaliu Pogolşa, ont été imprimés chacun en feuillet de 10 timbres.
A Tokyo, la délégation moldave était composée de 20 athlètes (9 hommes, 11 femmes) engagés dans 8 sports : athlétisme, judo, tir à l'arc, lutte (libre et gréco-romaine), natation, canoë-kayak, tir et haltérophilie.
Comme en 2008 à Beijing, la Moldavie a remporté une seule médaille lors de ces jeux de Tokyo 2020, en bronze grâce à Serghei Tarnovschi dans l'épreuve de C1-1000m (canoë-kayak).
On August 7, 2021, the penultimate day of the 32nd Olympiad in Tokyo 2020, organized from July 23 to August 8, 2021 (due to the global Covid-19 pandemic), the Post of Moldova had put into circulation two stamps illustrating two sports, wrestling and canoeing (sprint).
These two stamps (1.75L and 15.50L, print run: 25,000 each), designed by Vitaliu Pogolşa, were printed in sheetlets of 10 stamps each.
In Tokyo, the Moldovan delegation was made up of 20 athletes (9 men, 11 women) engaged in 8 sports: athletics, judo, archery, wrestling (freestyle and Greco-Roman), swimming, canoeing, shooting and weightlifting. 
As in 2008 in Beijing, Moldova won only one medal at these Tokyo 2020 games, in bronze thanks to Serghei Tarnovschi in the men's C-1 1000 metres (canoeing).

 

Comme elle l'avait fait en 2008 pour célébrer la médaille de bronze du boxeur Veaceslav Gojan, la poste moldave a réimprimé un de ses 2 timbres de la série "Tokyo 2020" avec une surcharge en l'honneur de Serghei Tarnovschi (en haut à droite).
Ce timbre (tirage : 10000), émis le 22 octobre 2021, figure sur cette lettre envoyée depuis le bureau principal de Chișinău (MD-2012), avec TAD associé ("Medaliații Republicii Moldova la Jocurile Olimpice de Vară. Tokyo 2020"). Merci beaucoup Nicolae ! 
Dommage qu'un TAD bleu ait été également appliqué le 2 novembre 2021... 
Champion olympique de la jeunesse en 2014, Serghei Tarnovschi avait déjà remporté une médaille de bronze dans cette même épreuve du C1-1000m lors des jeux olympiques de Rio 2016, avant de perdre sa médaille suite à un contrôle antidopage positif.

As it was done in 2008 to celebrate boxer Veaceslav Gojan's bronze medal, the Post of Moldova has reprinted one of its two stamps from the "Tokyo 2020" series with an overprint paying tribute to Serghei Tarnovschi (top left).

This stamp (print run: 10,000), issued on October 22, 2021, was used on this cover sent from the main post office in Chișinău (MD-2012), with its associated postmark ("Medaliații Republicii Moldova la Jocurile Olimpice de Vară. Tokyo 2020"). Thank you very much Nicolae!

Too bad that a blue cancellation was also applied on November 2, 2021 ...

Youth Olympic champion in 2014, Serghei Tarnovschi had already won a bronze medal in the same C-1 1000 metres event at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, before losing his medal following a positive doping test.
