La poste croate à la particularité d'émettre chaque année d'intéressantes carte postales ("dopisnica" en croate) pré-timbrées, dont celle ci-dessous, émise le 7 novembre 2008, pour commémorer les 100 ans de pratique de l'espéranto en Croatie.
Le timbre pré imprimé (valeur 1,30 kuna) représente une sculpture intitulée "La Futuro" située à Zagreb, sur la place Kennedy, devant la faculté d'économie. Cette oeuvre du sculpteur danois espérantiste Jesper Neergaard, a été inaugurée en 2001 à l'occasion de la tenue à Zagreb du 86ème congrès international des espérantistes.
La poste croate avait d'ailleurs commémoré cet évènement avec l'émission d'un timbre spécial le 21 juillet 2001.

The Croatian post has the particularity to issue each year some interesting pre-stamped postcard ("dopisnica" in Croatian), including the one below, issued on November 7 2008 to commemorate 100 years of practice of Esperanto in Croatia.
The pre-printed stamp (value 1.30 kuna) depicts a sculpture entitled "La Futuro" located in Zagreb, on the Kennedy square, in front of the university of economy. This work by the Danish Esperantist sculptor Jesper Neergaard, was inaugurated in 2001 during the 86th International Congress of Esperanto held in Zagreb.
The Croatian post had commemorated this event with the issue of a special stamp on July 21 2001.

L'espéranto, langue internationale, a été créée en 1887 par le polonais Zamenhof dont le but était alors de contribuer à des communications entre les peuples plus simples et plus démocratiques.Une association internationale d'espéranto a été créée en 1908 et regroupe aujourd'hui des membres de près de 120 pays.
L'illustration ci-dessus à gauche reproduit la une de la 1ère gazette éditée par la ligue croate d'espéranto le 10 avril 1909.
Dragan a complété l'affranchissement avec un timbre émis le 30 mars 2001 consacré à la ville de Makarska, port et centre touristique situé sur la côte dalmate dans le sud du pays.
Le timbre reproduit une peinture de Ivica Šiško montrant la cathédrale Saint-Marc sur la place centrale avec également le monument dédié à Andrija Kačić Miošić, moine franciscain et poète croate du 18ème siècle.
Esperanto, an international language, was created in 1887 by Polish Zamenhof whose aim was to contribute to simpler and more democratic communications between people.
A world Esperanto association was founded in 1908 and it now includes members from nearly 120 countries.
The illustration above on the left reproduces the first page of the first Gazette published by the Croatian League of Esperanto on April 10 1909.
Dragan has completed his postage with a stamp issued on March 30 2001 devoted to the city of Makarska, a port and tourist center located on the Dalmatian coast in southern Croatia.
The stamp reproduces a painting by Ivica Šiško showing the St. Mark Cathedral on the central square with the monument to Andrija Kačić Miošić, a 18th century Croatian Franciscan monk and poet.
Ci-dessus une autre lettre envoyée par Dragan, postée le 6 février 2009 de Rijeka. Cette jolie enveloppe a été créée par Dragan (bravo !) pour évoquer le 21ème championnat du monde masculin de handball qui eut lieu en Croatie du 16 janvier au 1er février 2009.La chenille Ruksi, mascotte de cette compétition, est représentée à gauche. La poste croate a célébré cet évènement sportif avec l'émission, le 16 janvier 2009, du timbre ci-dessus à droite qui s'inspire du logo officiel de ce championnat.
Sept villes (Split, Zadar, Osijek, Varazdin, Porec, Pula et Zagreb) ont accueilli les différents matchs opposant les 24 équipes qualifiées.
Il s'agissait du plus important évènement sportif organisé par la Croatie depuis son indépendance, qui avait déjà organisé un championnat d'Europe et un championnat du monde féminin.
L'équipe croate était grande favorite devant son public mais, désolé Dragan (!), la France, championne olympique à Pékin, a finalement été sacrée championne du monde devant la Croatie et la Pologne :-)
J'ai déjà évoqué l'autre timbre (émis en 2004) consacré à la ville de Virovitica dans un article précédent.
Above another letter sent by Dragan, mailed on February 6 2009 from Rijeka. This pretty cover was created by Dragan (congratulations !) to evoke the 21st world men's handball championship, which took place in Croatia from 16 January to 1 February 2009.
The caterpillar Ruksi, the mascot of this competition, is depicted on the left. The Croatian post has celebrated this sporting event with the issue, on January 16 2009, of the stamp above right based on the official logo of the championship.
Seven cities (Split, Zadar, Osijek, Varazdin, Porec, Pula and Zagreb) hosted the different matches between the 24 qualified teams.
It was the most important sports event organized by Croatia since its independence, even if Croatia had already hosted a European Championship and a Women's World Championship.
The Croatian team was the overwhelming favorite at home but, really sorry Dragan (!), the French team, Olympic champion in Beijing, has finally won the gold medal ahead Croatia and Poland :-)

Dragan a eu la gentillesse de joindre à sa lettre ce souvenir philatélique ci-dessus émis lors d'une exposition intitulée "Rubens en philatélie" qui fut organisée en 1993 à Zagreb.Le timbre, émis le 10 février 1993, commémore les 100 ans de la mort du peintre réaliste croate Ferdo (Ferdinand) Quiquerez (1845-1893). Il reproduit un autoportrait du peintre, d'origine française.
Une autre oeuvre de Quiquerez représentant un pont de Zadar avait déjà été reproduite sur un timbre de Yougoslavie en 1968.
Dragan was kind enough to include in his letter the philatelic souvenir above issued during a stamp exhibition entitled "Rubens in Philately" that was organized in 1993 in Zagreb.
The stamp, issued on February 10 1993, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the death of the Croatian realistic painter Ferdo (Ferdinand) Quiquerez (1845-1893). It reproduces a self-portrait of the painter of French descent.
Another Quiquerez's work representing a bridge of Zadar had already been reproduced on a stamp issued by Yugoslavia in 1968.
