Pour rappel, depuis 2014, certains pays membres (22 au total actuellement) de l'Union Postale pour la Méditerranée (PUMed), une union restreinte de l'UPU, émettent chaque année des timbres "Euromed Postal" ayant un thème commun lié à la région méditerranéenne.
Les thèmes choisis en 2017 et 2018 étaient respectivement les arbres de la Méditerranée et les maisons de la Méditerranée.
Les versions chypriotes de ces timbres figurent sur cette lettre envoyée le 9 octobre 2019 (Journée mondiale de la poste) depuis Nicosie (Lefkosia en grec).
Le timbre à gauche (0,64€, tirage : 110000), conçu par Christina Vasiliadou, illustre ce thème des arbres de la Méditerranée, avec un arbre complexe ayant des feuilles d'olivier et de pins, et des fruits de caroubier et d'oranger. La composition de ce timbre est proche du timbre Euromed Postal émis par la France.
As a reminder, since 2014, some member countries (currently 22 in total) of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, are issuing each year "Euromed Postal" stamps devoted to a common theme related to the Mediterranean region.
The themes chosen in 2017 and 2018 were respectively trees of the Mediterranean and houses in the Mediterranean.
The Cypriot versions of these stamps have been used on this letter sent on October 9, 2019 (World Post Day) from Nicosia (Lefkosia in Greek).
The stamp on the left (€ 0.64, print run: 110,000), designed by Christina Vasiliadou, illustrates this theme of the trees of the Mediterranean, with a composite tree featuring the leaves of the olive and pine trees and the fruits of the carob and orange trees. The composition of this stamp is close to the Euromed Postal stamp issued by France.

L'autre timbre (0,64€, tirage : 190000), conçu par Panayiota Epifaniou, est consacré au thème des maisons de la Méditerranée, en particulier un quartier de la vieille ville de Nicosie, caractéristique du patrimoine architectural traditionnel.
Les matériaux utilisés pour les murs sont le calcaire, la pierre ou les blocs de terre, les toits épais étant souvent constitués de poutres (volitzia), de roseaux, surmontés de de couches d'argile et de tuiles. Ces maisons disposent souvent de fenêtres en baie (en bois) appelées "sachnisi".
A noter également ce 3ème timbre (0,02€, émission de 2019) avec mention "Refugee Stamp" (en grec, anglais et turc), réémis régulièrement, apposé en complément sur toutes les lettres et cartes postales postées sur l'île afin de financer un fond pour les réfugiés grecs ayant fui le nord de l'île après l'invasion turque de 1974.

The other stamp (€ 0.64, print run: 190,000), designed by Panayiota Epifaniou, is dedicated to the theme of houses in the Mediterranean, particularly a neighbourhood in the old town of Nicosia, characteristic of the traditional architectural heritage.
The materials used for the walls are limestone, stone or earth blocks, the thick roofs often consisting of beams (volitzia), reeds, surmounted by layers of clay and tiles. These houses often have bay windows (made of wood) called "sachnisi".
To note also this 3rd stamp (€ 0.02, issue of 2019) with "Refugee Stamp" mention (in Greek, English and Turkish), reissued regularly, affixed in complement on all the letters and postcards mailed from the island in order to finance the fund for the Greek refugees who fled the north after the Turkish invasion in 1974.
