L'hôtel de ville de La Rochelle (préfecture de la Charente-Maritime), un des sites les plus remarquable de cette cité, a été ravagé (toitures et charpentes de la partie historique du bâtiment) par un terrible incendie le 28 juin 2013.
Après plus de 6 ans de travaux et de restauration, cet édifice a réouvert ses portes fin 2019 et, à cette occasion, l'Amicale Philatélique Aunisienne exposait une série de cartes postales anciennes consacrées à cet hôtel de ville de La Rochelle, lors d'une exposition philatélique organisée les 14 et 15 décembre 2019.
Un collector composé de 4 timbres personnalisés différents (l'hôtel de ville au siècle dernier, l'hôtel de ville incendié, la période des travaux et la réouverture) a été édité lors de cette manifestation.
One of the most remarkable sites of this city, the town hall of La Rochelle (Prefecture of Charente-Maritime) was devastated (roofs and frames of the historic part of the building) by a terrible fire on June 28, 2013.
After more than 6 years of works and restoration, this building reopened its doors at the end of 2019 and, on this occasion, the Amicale Philatélique Aunisienne exhibited a series of old postcards dedicated to this town hall of La Rochelle, during a philatelic exhibition organized on December 14 and 15, 2019.
A collector made up of 4 different personalized stamps (the town hall in the last century, the burned town hall, the period of the works and the reopening) was issued during this event.
Un de ces 4 timbres (réouverture) a également été imprimé séparément en feuille, au tarif "Lettre Verte 20g" (prix de vente : 1,50€).
C'est ce timbre qui figure sur le pli spécial ci-dessus, avec TAD associé avec mentions "Renaissance de l'Hôtel de Ville" et "La Rochelle, quelle histoire !", mis en circulation par un bureau temporaire de La Poste lors de cette exposition.
A noter sur cette enveloppe la signature de l'artiste peintre Joël Lemaine (né en 1954 à SP&M), installé dans la région et qui a conçu ce collector consacré à cet édifice.
Joël Lemaine a créé de nombreux timbres (bateaux, cordages, phares...) ces dernières années pour l'administration postale de SP&M.
L'hôtel de ville de La Rochelle (styles Renaissance et gothique flamboyant principalement) est le bâtiment qui héberge la mairie de cette ville depuis 1298 et est considéré comme le plus ancien hôtel de ville encore en fonction en France.
Monument historique depuis 1861, cet édifice a été largement restauré à la fin du 19ème siècle.
One of these 4 stamps (reopening) was also printed separately in a sheet, at the "Green Letter 20g" rate (selling price: € 1.50).
It is that stamp which was used on the special cover above, with associated postmarks with mentions "Renaissance of the Town hall" and "La Rochelle, what a story!" in French, put into circulation by a temporary office of La Poste during this exhibition.
To note on this envelope the signature of the artist and painter Joël Lemaine (born in 1954 in SP&M), installed in the region and who designed this collector dedicated to this building.
Joël Lemaine has created numerous stamps (boats, ropes, lighthouses ...) in recent years for the postal administration of SP&M.
The town hall of La Rochelle (mainly Renaissance and flamboyant Gothic styles) is the building that has housed the town hall of this city since 1298 and is considered to be the oldest town hall still in operation in France.
A historic monument since 1861, this building was largely restored at the end of the 19th century.
